Modern Dandy

Pleasant enough, does not smell cheap but it is disappointingly feeble. Acceptable if you go in expecting the strength of a deodorant or aftershave but not much performance beyond that. Don't fear overspraying, you can't.

When I started this hobby, I saw Pino Silvestre and debated making the purchase. They had a few items, but time and time again I would drop it from my cart. To me, as a brand, it always seemed cheap and gimmicky. I finally took the plunge with Modern Dandy, and IMO it’s blah. It has that synthetic out of the shower (gel soap) vibe. It feels like they are trying hard to make an appealing modern scent, but on a Happy Meal budget. It’s not bad, just boring. If you have many fragrances you will get what I am saying, and for me I would rather wear a challenging classic aftershave, because at least it is interesting. I may some day buy the original, but as the atomizer on the one I have leaks (collects) from inside, it’s just too cheap to be bothered with. I can’t recommend this.

Found this and sprayed it on after a couple years sitting. Still about the same, though the Cardamom and Violet stand out more than I remember. Still a masculine shower gel vibe, it’s fine, but again still rather dull. Performance seems a little better, but even now is fading quick. For a younger individual it is better than a body spray (not as scratchy) but very basic. Poorly designed sprayer, not sure the price on it now, but if it is over 20 dollars you can find better.

Pino Silvestre Modern Dandy... ...I do own all three fragrances of the "collection selection". Every single one is different. While Perfect Gentlemen leans powdery and creamy, Deep Charisma leans spicy and woody. Modern Dandy is the freshest of the three. It starts with a citrus blast and transforms to a fresh, herbal floral middle section and ending with a soft wooden base. It lasts reasonably well considering what it costs.
