Treehouse Royal

TR begins with a FRESH blast of tart bergamot (not listed here, but on the box, and I smell citrus but no pear), delicious fig and some spicy, leafy features along with MOSS. The moss isn't dusty, fusty or musty! It's lovely! I'm really, really into it. This is hands down, one of the BEST openings I've ever experienced. Ever. Some people are complaining about the moss...but I'm from freaking Washington state. Moss is as common as grass here...maybe moreso. Fresh moss isn't gross like most people assume, it's fresh and very clean, but it definitely is *green*. The issue with this is a vexing issue with this brand in general, they just need to use better fixatives or something (I'm not sure, I don't claim to be a perfumer or expert), because these perfumes die way too quickly. Even this one, which is a little heftier than the others I've tried. It becomes a soapy (but still very pretty and fresh) skin scent in an hour or two, even on clothing. The weird thing is, I'm ready and willing to entirely forgive that, because this is SO good. I think the cassia, fresh figgy/fruity tones and the delightful moss is so perfectly balanced, I can overlook the performance in this case (I wouldn't even bother bringing it up if Pinrose frags were EDTs or EDCs, but they're EDPs and you pay EDP money). Some might equate all of this with autumn, but in my neck of the woods (literally), moss and fresh air is at large NOW on spring. This is so naturally clean and beautiful, it's the very olfactory song of springtime 💚 Spring...in the Pacific Northwest! 😍🌿🌲

I definitely got a lot of citrus here. I'm not sure I get the fig, but I may just not know what fig smells like. This is also the only mossy fragrance that I like so far. I like how it's not too sweet like most popular and recent perfumes. While I may not be able to pick out all the notes, I do know that this is my favorite fragrance at this time. It's really nice when it's cold out (wore it in New York during those arctic temperatures this winter), but I'm sure it'll be great in warm weather too. UPDATE: I have just discovered that the mystery "citrus" note was actually the cassis, which I had never smelled before (I figured this out by eating a blackcurrant-flavored jelly bean, out of all the ways I could have). I don't get the cat-urine quality that comes up a lot when people talk about cassis. Instead, it just makes me smile.

Treehouse Royal by Pinrose is a more refined and elegant version of the Pear Glace scent by Victoria’s Secret. The three words I think of with this scent are Green, Earthy and Woodsy. It evokes memories of early morning walks in the country. The soil is dark and moist. There’s dew on the grass and the smell of blooming flowers fills the air. Upon application, I am able to l smell the sweetness of the ripe fig and pear notes tempered with the sharpness of the fig leaf. After about 1 hour, the violet and jasmine notes become prominent. Mid-day (about 5 hours after the initial spray), I notice the warm, boozy musk-y notes from the vetiver and moss. The note list says bourbon vanilla but this smells like rum. This is just a lovely scent to me. Great for days when I want to project my inner Earth Goddess.

This one is a signature fragrance for me. I mostly get moss and vetiver from this one, and though the fig is present, I would not call this a fruity fragrance. It's earthy while also being a little sweet. If the violet is at all powdery, it's masked by the moss and vetiver. Treehouse Royal is a perfect name; it smells like a fairy princess who lives in a forest would smell. Granted, I am very biased for this one because it contains four notes I absolutely love: fig, violet, peony, and moss. My overall impression of this one is that it's unique without being too weird, and it could work for any season, day or night.

At first spritz it’s a bit too green for me, but it settles down to a wonderful fresh scent that I love! I put some on my wrists and while I drove ( air conditioner was blowing on my arms) I was trying to figure out where the great scent was coming from, then I remembered I had put this on! It’s too pricey but I have repurchased.

Delicious mossy, green fig with the most deep & sweet vanilla drydown. I've never smelled a green perfume that dries down this sweet before. This is a great scent for spring/summer/fall and really smells like a lovely forest and dries down to a softer woody vanilla.

I love this fragrance. The top note is a little sharp, but it dries down to a clean, citrus, woodsy scent with a slight sweetness. It is definitely not a sweet fig, more grassy. It's different from Pinrose's other perfumes and I hope they keep offering it.

I don't usually wear woody scents well, but this one is quite figgy and just feminine enough I can pull it off.

I had high expectations of Treehouse Royal, having seen it compared to Byredo's Pulp somewhere. And I do get where that comparison is coming from, as the combination of juicy fruit notes and strong woody ones is definitely the core concept of this one as well, but that's about all they have in common. And unlike Pulp, which is wildly exuberant if anything, this failed to make much of an impression on me the first couple of times I tried it. In fact I forgot I was wearing it most of the time: not a great sign! Today I used the last of my sample, and so I forced myself to pay more attention because I wanted to make up my mind and review it. Having done so, I can confirm what others also seem to have noticed: it starts off kind of like Un Jardin en Mediterranee, only with a little fruitiness thrown in and slightly synthetic-smelling, and a little too weak for my taste. And that's the way it goes on, only gradually becoming warmer and less sharp. The notes go together well, and there's a lot to like there, but for me it just never quite falls into place. It might be that I didn't use enough, or that I just prefer stronger scents and this one is too subtle for me, but I have to agree with another reviewer: this is good, but not great, and sampling was enough for me.

Probably my favorite of the whole Pinrose line, and the last of my mini rollerballs from the discovery set. I think I intentionally saved the best for last. Beautiful. The fig is definitely present, but it doesn't read as too fruity of a fragrance to me - it is incredibly green and fresh. The oakmoss is the strongest note on me, while the fruitiness comes in equal parts from fig and cassis. It just smells really clean and pleasant, a beautiful sum of notes and not individual players. I would commend the oakmoss on giving Treehouse Royal this quality - oakmoss takes fragrances from notes to true perfumes with signature scent characters and the smell of breezy outdoor air. Would recommend.

Leaves a fresh earthy, woody smell on my skin chemistry. The most unique scent in my collection. Makes me think of deep coniferous forests and petrichor.

Boy, when I read the notes I really thought I'd love this one! It seemed so unique and interesting. Bought a rollerball to sample and unfortunately, I just smell body wash. Nice body wash, mind, but nothing memorable.

Pinrose’s quiz chose this scent for me but it’s too green and pungent; it burns my nose. I blame the cassis (read its description if you're not sure what that can smell like) and vetiver. I wish the fig and pear were more prominent, I can hardly detect them at all. I don’t get any vanilla, even after a few hours. Gives me a headache if I apply more than one or two sprays. I won’t be repurchasing. This may be a divisive opinion but I think Chanel’s Coco Madamoiselle is a better alternative. In no way is TR a dupe of CM (I’d say they’re about 75% similar), but CM definitely has the same type of green and deep purple vibe but is waaaaay more balanced.

I may edit later, but the cassis just took over and ruined this for me. I didn't get fig or pear, and forget any of the base notes. Skin chemistry is so odd. This is one time I'm so glad that Pinrose Perfumes have no longevity on me. It's just not fresh, its bitter green. Too much. Edit: If I had waited it out, the other notes would have shined. This one is complex for my very inexperienced nose. More unisex to me. A creative scent that would be appreciated by noses much more experienced than mine. I can't believe it doesn't have geranium listed, but that could be the cassis. It's a green fragrance to me.

I got a lot of fig and a bit of citrus. It's pretty ordinary in terms of fig scents (I've owned Demeter Fig Leaf and Pacifica Mediterranean Fig) and the lasting power for me doesn't justify the price since I'm a bit of a cheapskate. It's nice, but disappointing after using the little wipes, which last longer and have a more complex scent. The spray is on the lower end of moderate, lasting maybe 2-4 hours on me.

This one is better in theory. On my skin it just smells like cut grass after a heavy rainstorm - not innately bad but I hate the smell of cut grass. There's also a sort of rotting quality to the fig that reminds me of the crabapples that fall down and rot on the sidewalk. But for a brief few seconds I got to see what a fresh fig smells like, so that's cool.

If I haven't been acquainted with a number of other fig scents out there, I might run out and get a bottle of this. Treehouse Royal smells distinctively of citrus and fig, and not much else. There's also something about the cirtus here that is so clean it reminds me of soap. I'm actually surprised some kind of citrus isn't listed because it seems obvious to me, but maybe I'm misinterpreting the notes here? I don't get pear, but I definitely get the vetiver. Citrus, fig and vetiver. It's good, clean, simple, and probably unisex.

Th fig here is dry and woody-edged, a bitter dry wood that nicely balances the fruit and florals. I don’t really get the flowers distinctly, and the base notes aren’t clear, but overall it’s a good fig scent; woody, hint of purple juice in the fruit, hint of the fig sugar that dries on the skin as you eat it. Nice! I'm pleasantly surprised by these little roller oils. Most of them are too simple for me, but none of them so far has been bad.

The pear, fig, and cassis are awesome, but it's a shame they disappear so fast. In their wake, a kind of staid powdery floral remains. It's clean and soapy smelling. Overall, Treehouse Royal is okay, but not something I feel compelled to buy or wear. I wish I liked it more.
