Wild Child

I am smiling at the other perfume lover who mentioned Enya's "Wild Child"-- this song plays in my head whenever I spray the perfume! I love this one. I went for maybe 8 years without using perfume or scented body products at all, only essential oils or unscented products. I LOVE beautiful scents, and have an extensive essential oil collection, but am very sensitive to synthetic smells and even perfumes that I enjoyed the smell of, I couldn't wear... they made my nose hurt. I'm just starting to dip my toes into the perfume world again, and I'm so glad I found Pinrose! Their scents smell high-end but do not give me any headaches or oversensitivity issues. This reminds me a bit of my old DKNY green apple scent, though it's been a while since I've smelled that. My husband, who doesn't like strong perfume-y smells either, likes this one. He didn't think I had been wearing perfume, but when I gave him the bottle, said "oh yes, I've smelled this on you!" So from that I get that it's noticeable but not obnoxious, which is just what I want. I do NOT like high-sillage perfumes, so if you do, this may not be for you. I'm working on my nose ;) but so far all I can say is that this is just a lovely, romantic, totally girly floral. I definitely smell tropical flowers but no fruit-- not a pina colada scent. For me this is a fun, date-night scent (not what everyone would wear for evening but I like it), whereas for daytime I like the gentler Tambourine Dreamer or Clinique Happy Heart.

This is an excellent fresh, floral selection. Between the freesia, tiare, and bergamot, there’s a slight bit of sharpness in the top notes. Not enough to make it unpleasant, but just to add a bit of depth. As with most Pinrose fragrances, it smells very clean. (By that, I mean clean ingredients, not necessarily ozonic or soapy.) I wish it lasted longer and projected more. During the day, I found myself having to refresh after only 3 or 4 hours, but it does make a nice bed scent. I have a feeling it may be on its way out the door because I got a purse size for only $16 at Sephora.

a nice bar-soapy white floral that has a soft smooth feel rather than being screechy. also to my pleasure very natural smelling; like a crisp fresh flower bouquet. really lovely on a spring day

Between the Tiare Flower and the Frangipani, I smelled the lei's that Hawaii'n Airlines hangs over your neck as you disembark in Kauai. Lovely.

The name of the game with Pinrose is - "FRESH". So far, they've all had a really pretty, fresh easy going and natural smelling cleanness about them all. This one also opens in a lovely burst of citrus, I'm surprised people haven't rated the bergamot higher, because it is fairly strong to my nose. It has a certain sweetness about it too though, almost as if the bergamot is mixed with sweet orange or something. I know this says it contains tiare and frangipani, but all I really smell is jasmine and gardenia. I had some hopes that it would be a little more exotic, but it just retains a very clean, very pretty white floral profile. The vanilla is truly a background player, and takes it's time to emerge. In all honesty, I'm happy about that (not that I don't love vanilla), because so many other perfumes lately are super vanillic, it's nice to experience something that utilizes vanilla in a much lighter fashion. Yet, for all of the notes it purportedly contains and I don't smell, I do like what is here quite a lot! It's fairly basic, but actually smells a lot fresher, more uplifting, and not exactly like most designer fragrances lately. You'd think bergamot + jasmine + gardenia would smell ridiculously familiar, but this somehow doesn't smell exactly like anything I've worn before, I think because it truly is of cleaner ingredients. Yet, it isn't necessarily super memorable, it's a perfume that's easy to wear and easy to understand. Longevity is fairly poor.
