She Shihan (She Sensei)

I got a sample of this as a gift with my order of other samples. Before that, I didn't know this fragrance existed, which is a shame, it's so lovely! It's more feminine than I would have expected from the top voted notes. She Shihan opens up with juicy plum, coffee, dark chocolate and a dash of whiskey. Then it developes to a rose, vanilla and tobacco scent. The rose is the most dominant note on my skin. It's rather clean, but the other notes keep it from becomming soapy and old-fashioned, especially the plum stays around to give the rose a juicy edge. The fragrances becomes warmer and more vanillic and balsamic over the time. It's a slightly sweet floriental scent with gourmand aspects and a balmy-creamy feel. Soft, but not weak at all, very feminine, but not girly. Complex due to the contrasting notes and the way it changes on my skin. Unique. I like this a lot and I'm glad I got the chance to discover it!

Sweet. Smooth. Smokey. Plummy and vanillary. Divine. Really comforting and a bit gourmand scent. Must have for Vanllie Insensée and old Opium limited editions fans.

Can somebody please explain the 2 types of perfume in the bottle? EDP and EXT DP. Do you wear them separately or together?

Certainly embodying the sweetness and sheer power of the original, Piotr Czarnecki She Shihan (formerly Sensei) has many of the same characteristic gourmand notes--whiskey and coffee come to mind, in particular--but with a couple of key twists that do foster somewhat of a feminine-leaning variance from the original. Violet, for me, is most prominent in She Shihan, and next after that is plum, and beyond that, it's a melange of mostly sweet/gourmand notes but a couple others as well, including whiskey, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and incense. It feels mostly like the original Shihan/Sensei EDP with a heavy addition of violet and light addition of plum, giving it a more feminine vibe overall but while remaining unisex enough that men will like it as well, especially men that both like violet and gourmands. Like the original / men's, She Shihan performs exceptionally as well both in terms of projection and longevity, so the $160 for 100ml EDP pricing is great if you like the scent. 7 out of 10

A carnaval! This is just incredibly amusing! The best thing is here is that the roses are neither Turkish nor Bulgarian so it won't bother the sweetness of the plums and won't overly cover the coffee note. The vanilla is embodied within the whisky but the roses are just sharp! i don't want to say that it's too sharp cause if it wasn't on this dose the vanilla whisky would have ruined it being cloying. As it cools down, the myrrh, labdanum, & the musk mellow rises as a pleasant spicy mix while the sharp roses stays at the back with hazes of plum, & coffee. This blend is just amusing to the bone! & no it doesn't smell like Shihan. Impressive.

Have you ever been to Café Central in Vienna? I have not. I saw it briefly through the lens of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations once and romanticized the place in my mind; it’s easy to do if you’ve ever watched his shows. I imagined myself ordering an assortment of dishes and drinks, taking my time to absorb the flavors and atmosphere. She Shihan took me to this place immediately. It is deep, intellectual, of another epoch yet timeless.

For some reason this smells very eastern European to me. I don’t know if it is because the owner is Polish or if it is a coincidence, but it is very evocative and I love it. Main notes are rose, chocolate, boozy notes and coffee. I prefer the original Shihan but this is seriously good too. A very nice rose-chocolate combo with a good performance.

Strong feminine opening, too generic for my liking. Rose, heavy musk and myrrh. A slight pepper undertone. I don't smell plum, whiskey or coffee, which is a shame, I would have loved that. This fragrance has a lot more character on paper, I prefer it with it's fresher profile and more airy notes.

A sexy mature fragrance. Quite different and has a slightly 'dusty' feel to it. My husband said it reminded him of his Grandma's house. I actually quite like it but not enough to buy a full bottle.

My recurrent issue with heavy gourmands is that, although pleasant in reception, they do not always suit my fancy as something that I would like to wear as my fragrance. This one, unfortunately, is no exception. It opens heavily with plum and whiskey - as other Polish members have already noted, clearly reminiscent of the traditional Polish treat of chocoloate-covered, boozy plums. There's also almost a fizzy aspect to the smell, that at first reminded me of Coca Cola - this, I assume, coming from the presence of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, which are all used as components of the fragrance in the aforementioned drink. Over time, the tobacco and frankincense appear and - occasionally - I can catch a little of the leathery, ambery labdanum. It's pleasant and interesting, and I would very much like to see this composition made into a home fragrance. I just cannot think of where I would wear this.

I get a lot of the rose + ambrette / musk. The plum is not tangy or tart but it adds a dark fruit element to the rose. A small touch of the boozy notes, but it’s mostly about the rose/fruit/musk Don’t get any spices. Gets a little more deep and complex in the drydown On me this doesn’t smell that gourmand and I definitely dont get the booze soaked chocolate covered plums that I was hoping for from the reviews Smells nice but the dominant rose musk is not my thing, so I’ll swap it

Perfect for snowy Chicago...or cold rainy fall...Very warm scent but for sure there is none myrrh, frankincense...

I was happy to receive a decant from a beautiful perfume buddy, Erica. My initial impression upon two sprays after an average burst of alcohol comes a wonderful blend of plum, violet and very soft chocolate that kept hanging on. I took a guess that this will easily gets close to skin. Rose is one of my favorite note but I failed to detect it. After a few minutes the chocolate, to my surprise, along with labdanum and whiskey are winning this stage. The plum and lavender sinks deeper to the unknown. Coffee? I failed to detect it just like the rose at the start. Although the top was captivating and the heart was so yummy, the fragrance indeed was weak yet clinging. I noticed the heart became a soft similar (top) to another Impressive niche frag: Lubin Idole Now here's the best surprise, the base is labdanum, ambrette, a touch of vanilla, soft not too sweet, milky chocolate (I love chocolate note especially dark cocoa) and whiskey vibe. Violet and plum, gone. Rose and coffee? None, not even vibe of them. This is definitely fall, rainfall and winter perfect. Cuddly and intimate encounter scent, formal and party scent, outdoor scent.. I believe this will be good with sweat when partying as well as windy outdoor. Versatile, creative, transforming but only an average projection. I still need to observe the longevity. Good unisex perfume. Sensei is amazing but soft on me. For it's heart, I am a fan of Lubin Idole's top and heart, dislike it's powdery dry down. I am in love with one perfume I have that has somewhat similar (not copy) dry down vibe with this sensual Sensei. The differences, Sensei is close to skin, soft powder with yummy just right sweetness chocolate. It's probably the blends of labdanum, spices, ambrette and vanilla. The perfume I love is stronger though and for sure, fans of this will like Sensei... Donna Karan Black Cashmere..

Some of my thoughts on She <3 Sensei : So how is She Sensei? When Mr Sensei is being incredibly classy and elegant gentleman connoisseur having his coffee,smoking his cigar in trendy Bebek coffee shop on Bosphorus shore overlooking the magical Istanbul at night, wearing black suit and Vacheron Constantin watch. He screams pure class! He is the Master ! She Sensei is his lady - chic, romantic and sophisticated . She is young but very mature for her age. She is wearing a red dress. She is his sweetness like the tasty turkish delight rosewater candy or delicious plum in chocolate. Irresistible. If you ever had those you would know but if not just imagine when the rose petals jam met plum butter on your lips, tongue stimulate and awake your senses. Feel the heavenly smell and the delicious taste of those. She is well balanced with a touch of vanilla. She is a coffee lover as well but not any kind of coffee. The dark roast, the chocolate vibe, the smooth velvety coffee with the hint of spices her beloved cardamom and cinnamon - like her man teach her she loves the best of the best. Coffee gives her power, makes her unique makes her sharp in her sweetness. She is never boring she loves to surprise... She is deep warm and mysterious. Sometimes when her man is having whiskey she would just steal a sip. It adds a pinch of devilish sexiness to the innocent sweetness of her. She Sensei is kind of luscious pleasure. Seducing. Keep shining on her own. Would wrap you with silky feeling. Radiate joy and resemble luxury. Where Sensei is the Master She Sensei is one of his best students.

I see this perfume having a very limited, distinct audience. I am Polish by birth. We love fruit soaked in liquor and encapsulated in chocolate. Plums in particular. There is no chocolate in the notes but the coffee and tobacco gives that dark, bitter chocolate vibe on me. This perfume brings back memories, smells very realistic. I smell this and my mind is looking for a little chocolate barrel with boozy plum... The middle note gets a bit soapy on me but passes quickly. Then rose joins this blend and everything starts to become more 'perfumy' and less gourmand. This is very heavy, strong perfume. Big persona! It takes a bold woman to pull it off. Even if you are it, there are going to be days this perfume will be more daring than you... I love in for a short time, because it can overwhelm my senses. I love to wear it on date nights, walks in the city on colder days so the scent has a lot of room to flit. Although I come home and wash it off, I can't wait to wear it again, for a short while...

This is now called She Shihan. Not sure why they changed the name but the fragrance stays about the same. First impression I get big whiskey and lovely fruit, plum. The plum is sweet and boozy with some watery rose in the background. When it dries down the vanilla becomes much more noticeable. The boozy aspect stays but calms a bit. I kind of wish that aspect stayed throughout, I am on a booze (smell not drink) kick right now. I find this very enjoyable throughout the whole wear, which is 7 or 8 hours on me.

oh man...this reminds me of something, and i can't remember what it is!!! it's soft, fruity and boozy. quite sweet and floral too, at times, but mostly fruity. the plum is nice and central to the scent, as a whole, but i personally would have preferred it to be a little boozier, but that's just me! jazz club - Maison Martin Margiela! that's what this reminds me of. it's sweet and pretty!

I can appreciate this, but I don't really like it that much. Opens with a big boozy plum, coffee and Sol de Cuzco hot chocolate bar. The vanilla is kind of watered down but very noticeable. I pick up on ambrette, resins and a strange rose. All the notes here act separate, and I think this is what turns me off. A-ok.

She Shihan/She Sensei opens slightly fruity, spicy and already moves on to an infusion of wisky with coffee and tobacco and amber giving harmony and balance in the core of this fragrance; with a slightly musky resinous woody base, I liked it more than Venom of Angel. Moderate Performance!

Ooooo love this because of its weird smell! Before I read the info about the notes, I thought, that this is very intriguing.... And for sure it is! I love the smell and quirkiness but not sure if I would wear it myself.

Even though the notes listed do not include chocolate, this fragrance definitely evokes a cocoa-type vibe. And it's probably the most beautiful, soft cocoa scent I've ever experienced. Good sillage and strength.
