LOVE LOVE LOVE! I definitely have a thing for milky leaning nutty not super gourmand but still edible fragrance... I haven't had this perfume for long (about a month). But what a wonderful blind buy, I bought a 50ml and a 10ml of this in hopes the notes would translate as well as I had imagined and liking what I'd read in reviews. I'm so glad I did. The notes here are translated with great accuracy, the opening does capture a realistic boba (frag is missing that the taro is a taro bubble tea note!). While the smell is milky I wouldn't say it is lactonic as it is much drier a smell than what that word usually suggests. I would summarise this smell as powderised ingredients of a bubble tea café, with how it smells on dry down, and I find that so wonderful. On dry down the florals take strength but do not overpower the notes that make this fragrance, the pink pepper adds a bit of a fizziness and the pistachio becomes quite notable. I hope Piper & Perro make this a permanent fragrance, I'm topped up for now but I would certainly buy this again. I can't speak too much to performance with the time I've had it but projection and sillage are good to great, you aren't stinking out a room but it'll easily last for upwards of 5 hours. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a versatile scent, a great fresh gourmand that is sweet but not sickly or sticky. (Note from 2025. I am still obsessed with this perfume and am waiting to buy another bottle after getting a couple more 10mls after my purchase of the full bottle. I still have yet to smell anything quite like this. The closest would be some of the japan collection fragrances by d'annam. the performance is definitely more intimate after 2-3 hours. I am shocked to come back to this page and see how few reviews have happened since.)

This is my absolute favourite fragrance at the moment! I get so many compliments on it and am comfortable wearing it to work even with 2-4 sprays, but that does not mean it’s weak at all. I did not enjoy the San Janeiro pistachio scent nearly as much as this one; it’s more realistic and not overly sweet/“girlish.” The pistachio and tea notes make it powdery enough that it comes off as very rich and not at all alcoholic while the orchid and mandarin brighten it without smelling too green/clean. The pink pepper note is like crack to me, so I personally love layering this with either ambroxan or Glossier You which has both as well as amber + iris that compliment it beautifully. Piper & Perro is definitely my current favourite and most exciting niche brand! They have samples in sets of four which work out beautifully, when I ordered my 10ml of this they included the other four samples I was missing for free! I also love their scents Bud and Veil from their main line. Definitely check them out!!!!

I wanted to wait until my trip to Seoul to write a proper review of this scent. Having visited several major Asian cities, I initially thought of Seoul as more of a coffee culture than a milk tea one. The numerous coffee shops scattered throughout the city and it’s a place for hang-ought for many young people. What was me on for me, though, is the incredible variety of milk-based desserts available at these coffee shops. I believe it’s this blend of sweetness and tartness that makes this fragrance so fitting for the city. The only thing I’d add is a fresh note, like lime or sandalwood, to capture the vibrancy and futuristic vibe of Seoul. Interestingly, this house once released a limited edition scent called *Lepus* featuring a milk and lime combination. It was quite well-rounded in my opinion but sadly discontinued.

Beautiful scent! It reminds me of pistachio nougat first and then I get an undertone of taro milk tea. In one word: delicious! I find the opening smells a lot sweeter than the dry down - not in a bad way, it's still not overwhelming or cloying, but I love that it settles into something ever so slightly softer. Nutty, milky, sweet. I know it's got floral notes but I would consider those almost an afterthought in the scent profile, this is a lot more unique than a floral perfume. I sometimes feel like this doesn't project that much when I wear it yet I always get compliments so clearly others can smell it and love it. Overall, it's a standout. I ordered a sample pack from Piper & Perro and now I need to get a bigger bottle because I'm addicted.

I think this is the first taro-prominent perfume I have. The note stands out in the opening. On skin it’s somewhat fleeting. But on clothes, taro lasts longer. It’s definitely sweet. Over time I get flower and vanilla. I don’t think I get tea or pink pepper. I think I would have liked more discernible tea note. Overall, it’s interesting and pretty. Update: 07/09/2025 I have worn this frequently since my initial review. And I love it. The starchiness combined with sweet perfume. It’s almost addicting in a nice way. Update: 10/18/2025 I have layered this with Je ne Sais Quoi by Teo Cabanel, and the extra savory note makes the combination quite delightful. Now this is the only way I wear—layering.

One of my new favorites for the spring and summer. Sweet, salty pistachio that has a creaminess to it from the milk accord, and more nutty/earthy sweetness from the taro as well, then the delicate floral orchid note drifting through. I just can't get enough. It also has great longevity, and a little goes quite a long way in my experience. I started with a 10ml travel size but need to get a full bottle asap

The pistachio is very well done! It's realistic yet soft. This has a delicate sweetness to it and not overpowering - definitely work friendly. All of these fragrances are beautifully blended! I am absolutely loving that this brand has linear fragrances as I'm becoming sick and tired of fragrances fading out into the notes of the drydown and then you're left with the same 20 notes - over and over. Bravo!

Froth is such a unique, almost laundry-like taro/rice milk scent. It's light, pink florals on a backdrop of pastel clouds and marshmallowey tapioca beads. The nuttiness from the pistachio is balanced with the fresh tea note and a lovely sweet musk drydown. Perfect light, fresh gourmand for spring and summer.

This is so beautiful and has amazing longevity on my skin. I was so surprised to discover that such a pretty, soft scent could last longer than pretty much any fragrance I have. Froth will forever be one of my favorites.

I appreciate the brand creating affordable niche perfumes that are noteworthy. Froth and Ruby are two scents people ask me about when I wear them. I think it is because they gourmand, complex but understandable.

This is so delicious and perfect for this Fall season. I got it back in the summer, and I found it to be quite dense but still beautiful. However, wearing it in cold weather, I find it to be extra comforting and mouthwatering. If you’re wondering if it truly smells like taro bubble tea—it does. Believe the hype. The only thing is the taro note may or may not be as prominent on your skin after 30 mins. That’s the case for me, but there’s also this power struggle between the taro and orchid to see which of the two would come out on top as the dominant note. I’d like to say it’s taro, but the orchid’s really giving it a number. I like that it’s not overly gourmand, though. I don’t want to smell too much like my favourite drink or I’d just be craving it all the time.

I'm on the fence. The opening of this fragrance is SO beautiful and magical - the initial blast of salty nutty taro is what dreams are made of. If this lasted for the entirety of the wear it would be an instant signature scent. The combination of pistachio, taro and milk is what drew me in to blind buying Froth in the first place. Unfortunately the top notes fade so quickly, I'm talking within minutes, and turns into a sweet powdery floral scent. The orchid really comes out in the dry down. I actually don't find this lactonic at all. The search for the perfect milky boba tea perfume continues!

Okay so I sprayed on both clothes and skin (two sprays per arm). On skin, the taro does fade in like 20 minutes. On clothes, the taro lasted a couple of hours but you have to sniff your sleeve kinda close. After that, the dry down is a pleasant nutty floriental sweet milky smell, it's pretty close to a skin scent and I'd say it was office/daytime friendly. Piper & Perro, if you are reading this, please make this part of your permanent collection + increase the lasting power and sillage if possible, happier to pay way more money for this scent if it lasts longer!!

The taro note is definitely noticeable and really well done. Combined with the pistachio and milk, it really reminds me of taro milk tea with some added nuttiness. I love nutty fragrances and this smells delicious. It’s sweet and creamy but not overpowering. This scent honestly impressed me.

This is milk and nuts which is nice but has a distant something that is putting me off. I do think this is a great scent for a young female and probably a safe blind buy for a woman. I prefer Lupus which I got as a bonus sample in my order! My fave in this house is Berg.

taro milk tea at 4PM on a Thursday in late May

As with all the piper and pierro scents I've tried, It's not very complex or anything super innovative. It has a very powdery opener that then dries to a subtly nutty milk smell.

This has all the notes that I would normally go mad for (taro, milk, pistachio, tea). However, something with the way its blended just isn't working for me. I can initially smell the taro, but the orchid just feels overpowering to my nose and almost headache-inducing. I would call this a heavy floral with a bit of a milky undertone the more it dries down till it smells like something from a Victoria's Secret body mist line from the 2010s. I actually preferred the sample I got with it, Balm, which is a comforting, lotion-y scent, though I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase it. I really, really wanted to love Froth, but alas. Will stick to Taipei by One Day for my taro fix, thank you.

This is quite a heavy, very sweet, lactonic scent that is unfortunately quite nauseating for me. Maybe it’s the taro note in combination with the orchid. As much as I love sweet scents, this is too much for me and not something I could personally wear.

Unusual! Something brand new for my nose! The sweet-savory nuttiness comes through prominently at first, smelling of popcorn or hazelnut, and yet I get a sweet citrus overlay that, if it puts me in mind of tea at all, smells like the bright zing of bergamot in earl grey or a Meyer lemon (though no lavender here, of course). Over time, the pistachio takes on the cherry/almond cast that it sometimes does; combined with the scent’s floral facets, it ends up smelling like a pastry decorated with real cherry blossoms. Froth never quite loses its salty/savory salvo —overall, salty, sweet, milky, floral, slightly powdery-soapy, and as others have noted, starchy. Truly interesting! Conceptually reminds me somewhat of Givenchy L’Ange Noir for its ability to make a strongly savory note work in an otherwise, well, frothy-sweet perfume. (Post-script to add that the late drydown seems now to have taken a rosy-vanillic turn and is reminding me strongly of Lancôme Idole Nectar — again with the popcorn! 🍿)

Returning to this magnificent fragrance after a year or so. I’m a huge fan of Piper & Perro as a house, so my reviews can often be biased. I wasn’t completely in love with this fragrance when I first got it, but it’s macerated into the *perfect* summer gourmand. It’s beautifully balanced. I have worn it every day for over a week! I own 200+ frags, so I don’t often focus on one for this long before I switch it up. I’ll get a backup bottle.
