Santal de Paris

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 has always been my favorite body mist, and I kept wishing they would release it as a proper perfume. Then I smelled Santal de Paris... and oh my God, it completely blew me away from the very first sniff. To my nose, it's everything I wanted Cheirosa 59 to become: the same addictive, comforting DNA but transformed into an elevated, sophisticated, and utterly intoxicating fragrance. I honestly regret waiting so long to buy it because I had been reluctant for the longest time. This is the creamiest sandalwood I have ever smelled. The balance is perfect—just the right amount of sweetness intertwined with smooth, milky woods. It wraps around the skin like warm cashmere, infused with a delicate sweetness that never turns sugary and a soft, polished woodiness that feels effortlessly elegant. Every note seems to melt seamlessly into the next, creating a velvety aura that is comforting, luxurious, and quietly addictive. If you've ever wished Sol de Janeiro 59 came in a refined, long-lasting perfume form, Santal de Paris is exactly that. It's one of those rare fragrances that had me completely captivated from the very first spray.

Wow, this is beautiful! I totally see why it’s compare to Honore Delight, I definitely get the whiffs that reminds me of it and I love that. Also Paris Cherie but Paris Cherie was a bit of a mess for me, I felt like there was a bit too much going on. This is so much more balanced, the powdery dry down with ever so slight lily touch and beautiful musky airy vanilla and benzoin is absolutely gorgeous and so feminine. The Sandalwood is definitely there but it’s more of a woody note I get more that typical pickle like sandalwood. This is more of a Santal Basmati kind of a sandalwood. This also reminds me a lot of Roja 51 pour femme especially the vanilla powdery dry down. I wore it all day long today and got the whiffs from it that I thought was something else just to realize it was this perfume that dried down to this gorgeous powdery vanilla goodness. It is more of an intimate scent, and last close to skin all day with no issues. I’m already debating on a back up bottle. I have a feeling I’ll be reaching for this a lot! Both fragrances from the brand are gorgeous and worth a try.

Got a sample and immediately had to get a FB... maybe it’s not worth it but on my skin it’s captivating. It’s not the greatest projector but I wear perfumes for me.. and this brings me joy. The sandalwood is so smooth and calming, the vanilla is just right and with the hint of iris I believe.... It’s magic on my skin, especially on warmer days that are now starting to happen. Love!

Santal Paris, to my nose, it is a creamier version of Paris Cherie :)there are very much alike, but on my skin, in the dry down, Paris Cherie had a strange note that just did not match my skin, with Santal de Paris i do not get that at all.It is a very delicate vanillic sandalwood, i am very happy to have it in my collection!

This is special! I love creamy sandalwood and powdery notes - this fits that profile perfectly. Light, airy, sits close to the skin. Wish there was more projection, but a beautiful scent. I don’t find this floral at all - don’t let the lily note scare you! 10/10 - maybe a new favorite!

This is a super creamy, sweet delicious sandalwood, reminiscent of vanilla cupcakes or (as a user below stated) if sandalwood had an ice cream flavor, this would be it. It’s powdery, slightly woody, and so so pretty.

The longer this sits the better it becomes. It just keeps getting better and better. Classy, sophisticated and elegant. It smells like wealth. Creamy, airy, powdered sandalwood and vanilla. Any occasion any season.

So pretty! So airy and ethereal with elegance and a hint of sweetness and creaminess. I didn’t know sandalwood could smell this beautiful 🤍✨☁️☁️☁️ A true classic in the making!✨

This is the Gourmand Coquin of sandalwood. Absolutely chef's kiss! Top Five worthy, without question. Was only able to procure a low partial. This is my next 'goal' perfume.

So rich and creamy. The one sandalwood that has blown me away. Usually I find them too dry. What I put on when I want to feel luxurious.

It’s like Ylang in Gold without plasticy note + Bare sueded vanille way higher quality had a baby! it’s lovely 🥰

This is very wearable and well done, but too expensive to be this boring. While I like it and would wear it occasionally, I don't think this is worth the price to add to my collection when I have so many other vanillas I actually love. 7/10 on scent though. EDIT: As I wore this over the course of a couple of hours, I did get whiffs where I could understand why folks would love this. I still don't think it'll go on my list, though.

Delightful little scent bubble. Minimal projection for me. Moderate longevity. This is not a statement maker. Filing this in my personal thrill folder. Very safe for work.

This is soft and lovely. I enjoy it but it immediately smells like Donna Karen Cashmere mist that all the girlies wore in the 90s. Its nostalgic. Dare I say it also gives Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Poudree. I'll pass on this since I have both of these and some more delightful sandlewoods.

Sad to say, but this is mediocre in terms of quality at best. Notes blending is smooth but overall profile is generic massmarket. In line with most works of Feisthauer in last 3 years, that can be defined as quantity over quality mindset, with exception of two latest Puredistance releases. Thanks to a friend I was able to borrow the bottle to make my mind if I need it in my life and straight from the first whiff I knew it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is: sugary sweet milky barely sandalwood. Flat and monotone, with no development whatsoever. At 220 euros for 50 ml it's a sad joke, one that buyer has to uncover while buying blindly, because samples are nowhere to be found. Here sandalwood is buried under so much sweetness. Ode to such magnificent wood, even in its name, yet it has no room to breathe in the composition. It doesn't shine or flow here, it merely exists, suppressed by powdery diabetes going on for hours on skin. Overall brand entity feels like cashgrab. Overdose concentration, zero communication, no sample options available so everyone is forced to bind buy something that tiktokkers promote vigorously, website is only functioning in french, minimum information about scents given to the public. They do offer free shipping which is nice. Or is it. How come the grey market has already more sales points nearly half off for these than official retailers?

This is a powdery (like makeup powder) sandalwood. I wouldn't say it smells exactly like Cheirosa 59 (I own it) but the powderiness does smell very similar (like 75-80%). Not a dupe but if you like the Cheirosa 59, you'd probably like this one, and vice versa. I'm disappointed because I was expecting a more creamy sandalwood like Sana Jardin Sandalwood temple and this is far more powdery. After wearing and testing on skin, I notice this is more and more similar to Cheirosa 59. It's a sugared violet pastille scent to it (I hardly get any sandalwood) and there's something sickening about the sweetness.

Sandalwood has never thrilled me... until now. This scent not only surprised me, but became one of my top-tier favorites in short order. Sillage is creamy-soft, but with surprising projection. The lily weaves in and out of the scent, never overstaying her welcome. She’s warm, comforting, a bit sweet, a tad woody and sensuality laced with vanilla, benzoin and a whisper of amber. Santal is like a comforting hug, a nuzzle, a caress from a lover, the coziness of a soft blanket, a contented sigh- and sheer perfection.

I don’t really get the hype with this one. It smells nice but you can barely smell it, it’s very very intimate. It also bears a huge resemblance to Paris Cheri as mentioned in the review below mine, like a lot. Also for putting Santal in the name, you hardly get any sandalwood, it’s more vanilla heavy than anything with a touch of sandalwood. I will say this though - it’s blended super well and is an inoffensive office safe scent but if I’m being totally honest it was just meh for my personal tastes.

The top rating says this lacks niche innovation but everyone doesn’t want to smell like metal, rocks and concrete. Someone below mentioned dkny cashmere which I totally disagree with but they are right that it smells like Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Poudree - I loveee this fragrance. It’s signature scent worthy to me. As for it smelling like the Lataffa, I’d rather have the OG than the dupe.

@ kgill2 are you basing your review and comparison based on the actual fragrance or a dupe from parv? BC I just saw someone with a very close username receive it and make the same comparison. Do people really come on here and leave reviews of the real fragrance based off dupes like that? No wonder reviews are always all over the place

I’m surprised there haven’t been more comparisons to Coty Vanilla Musk. They smell very similar to me. A vanilla forward woody musk. I’m going to do a side by side on skin to see but that’s exactly what this reminded me of the second I smelled it

Hands down the best sandalwood I’ve ever tried. No sign of pickles in sight. It’s more of a powdery sandalwood. If sandalwood was an ice cream flavor. This is incredibly smooth and creamy. Not very spicy at all either.

Why put Santal in the name if ya can’t smell any Santal?! Don’t get me wrong, this smells nice...but on my skin it comes off as a low toned vanilla powder...that’s it. Nothing else. It’s super sugary to my nose.

This is a creamy, semi-sweet sandalwood. I have tried a few creamy sandalwoods that turn sour on my skin but this one is perfection, no sour or pickles just plain creamy sandalwood.

An absolute beauty. The best sandalwood I ever smelt. Office friendly. I get tons of compliments when I wear this one.

This is soooo worth the hype! What a stunner... its airy, sweet, and woody. The bottle is also lux. 10/10 fragrance!
