Queen of the Game

I had to revisit this perfume because the opening of Korres Cashmere Kumquat reminded me of the balsamic, powdery yet fresh side of this with the cedar, orange blossom and jasmine being common notes. They both have a subtle green tone to them, and in this one it stems from the black currant and intensified by the subtle patchouli. This has a strong balsamic and deeper sweet element, almost oriental from the rich tonka-chocolate blend, aside from its fresh sour black currant and the beautiful passion flower essence that both create the impression of black berries and gardenia flowers. Its fresh part adds an almost soapy fruity veil to the whole scent that sticks around so it is sophisticated yet cheerful. Despite the coffee note it doesn't remind me of Black Opium at all, and the passion flower is the most dominant to me throughout, along with the orange blossom/jasmine which contribute to the oriental vibe I get. The patchouli is subtle and adds a subtle green scent at the drydown, not too spicy or heavy (not like Signorina Misteriosa which is lactonic berry-like, but spicy too). The opening progressively becomes very floral from the passion flower, in a luscious way and always slightly reminiscent of gardenia - I see that passion flower does that a lot, also in BBW Tropidelic where again passion flower gives an almost gardenia impression that tricks your nose. So no wonder Queen of the Game always reminded me of Viva La Juicy Noir (Berries, Gardenia) and Flora Gorgeous Gardenia (berries, gardenia, patchouli). The difference is this one has this balsamic vein that reminds me of the Alien clan at times hence why Korres Cashmere Kumquat prompted me to compare them.

At first spray I get something from Viva La Juicy Noir/VS Noir Tease and yes those are also close to Gorgeous Gardenia(as another reviewer pointed out). So it must be the passion flower cuz it has no berries note unlike the other ones (passion flower is also contained in Play it Spicy). It's love at first spray for sure. As it settles I get alittle bit of Chopard's Happy Spirit (but less tanning lotion vibe and intensity). I think it combines nice elements and stands as a fragrance on its own. It has a mysterious,seductive vibe and once its on you, it will distract you in a good way. Yes we wish the silly bottle was in sync, oh well. The color purple suits it perfectly tho. Now the nights are still hot here in the south and it adds some magic to them ;) but Ill be wearing it in the winter too :)

One of the best underrated cheapie out here, their play it rock and queen of the game are my favorite now to wear daily. Sure the name and the brand is a little biy embarrassing, but i don't care as long as it doesn't smells cheap and embarrassing :p Moderately long lasting, especially on clothes. P. S : now i just remember that this one reminds me of Oriflame's Love Potion body cream, especially at the first few minutes. Guess I'll repurchase that body cream to layer with it

My best bargain fragrance purchase to date!!! This is a warmer and sweater version of playboy play it spicy. The opening reminds me of grape juice and vanilla with a hint of coffee...The dry down though sweet is also reminiscent of freshly washed laundry. I mostly get chocolate and the white floral in the dry down. This fragrance is addictive to me!!! My only con is that the longevity leaves much to be desired...Even on clothes you get four hours tops before it vanishes.

I love this scent. It's sweet, it's got that umph that you would want in a going-out scent. This used to be my signature scent and I bought this in the local supermarket every time I needed more perfume. I have used up many a bottles of this perfume. Definitely worth a try if you like a sexy sweet perfume!

I had this when i was 13/12, the best smell for a really good price and a pretty bottle.

Upon first spraying this, my thoughts were "cheap, body spray, alcohol." However, after a few seconds to calm down, it actually became pretty mature and intricate (at least compared to my low expectations because it's so cheap). It's a fruity, yet warm spicy gourmand-y scent. It's a lot less 'mainstream' smelling than I thought. I don't really smell a pronounced chocolate or coffee note, but it does have that sort of richness and warmth to it. The sweet "coffee" note reminds me of Black Opium some. There is a slight chocolatiness to it though, and after a few minutes there is some floral that comes out too. I can lightly smell it a few inches from my skin, but it's mostly strong on the skin. The fruitiness I think also comes from the grapey passion flower. After about 5 minutes, it does smell a little sharp and sour fruity, almost like a slight hint of bug spray, but not quite, and made me sneeze. This is more of a "cheap" smell now unfortunately and kind of irritating and acrid. 15 minutes after applying, it's starting to get harder to smell, though I can smell the jasmine coming out more now and it has a bit more of what other people were saying with a 'fresh laundry' scent. 30 minutes later it's very faint on my skin and a clean patchouli and tonka scent. Update: Wow, I'm surprised, there's been a slightly sweet vanilla scent that is faint, but lingering around on my skin still 3 hours later. It's not much, but I'm still surprised.

This is a lovely purple fruit fragrance with woodsy notes, but as mentioned by others, the longevity is short and the coffee note isn't pronounced. For those who do like this scent for its fruitiness and woods, I would suggest trying Avon Rare Amethyst - it has a juicy tangy purple opening that reminds me of this scent, but it lasts three hours at least and the dry-down is more sophisticated with smooth woods. Of the 2 I would pick Avon's. They aren't twins, but similar enough that I don't need both.

My husband found this for me at Big Lots for a very low price.When I first smelled it, I wasn't wowed but then again I had been testing perfumes all morning. After receiving a sample of YSL Black Opium and loving it I noticed someone mentioned QoTG smells like Black Opium here on Fragrantica reviews so I got it back out and I'll be damned, it's very close and the sillage & longevity are comparable.I love this stuff ,I didn't know what a treasure I had until now!

Coffee powdered and dark chocolate with some dark berries. I like it and finished several bottles already. Not very sweet and doesn't smell like cookies. Its not similar to Black Opium like some people say, Black Opium is a coffee-vanilla sweet cookie, and in this one vanilla doesn't exist, and its not that sweet. Smells nice specially in colder weather and lasts long time but don't buy it as a Black Opium dupe, because you will be disapointed.

This is very good for the price. It's not a dupe for Black Opium, maybe reminiscent of it. It's a well put together scent that comes off certainly more expensive than it is. Sweet, berries, a bit of coffee, vanillic. I agree with others that have said it fades quickly but otherwise, it ticks a lot of boxes for many occasions and doesn't break the bank.

This perfume reminds me of Black Opium. It would be a light version. The coffee note is quite prominent in the beginning. After a while, the sweeter chocolate and black currant notes come trough. It's a lovely scent, considering the price. I like it!

I tested this perfume absentmindedly while waiting in a queue to be served. At first it smelled like red cordial, and after reading the label, I snobbishly put the bottle down in horror...... But this lovely fragrance kept following me around all day and I realised it was this perfume. It develops to something much richer and multilayered over time and loses the sharpness of the fruity start. It reminds me a bit of Euphoria and Imari Seduction - probably the berry fruit and vanilla, but is definitely not the same as either. The chocolate and patchouli add complexity that I don't find in them. I find it to last moderately long which is good for something in this price range. However, I find the brand, packaging and bottle for this perfume to be tacky and cheap looking, and, as perfumeking14 points out, the name is very unfortunate. If you search online there is also an advertising video that implies using it will help you be a rather unpleasant manipulative person. Its definitely not one to beautifully grace my dressing table. But I find the scent to be divine. And have been getting compliments, so I assume it suits me and does well on my skin. Too bad I am too embarrassed to tell anyone what it is called... it will have to stay my secret.....

Why did they change the bottle!!!errr The first time they released 3 perfumes which all looked the same so fun times if you got the gift set with all 3 because once out of the box you had no clue which one was which. Then they did vip with coloured bow so you could tell and play it rock in red then the misguided decision of the leopard print for wild but it was ok. Now we have this just awful i mean common guys its already a cheap brand but now this monstrosity! Even the cheap french knock offs have better bottles than this. Its a shame because these are really nice perfumes at a budget and great for layering to make a bland perfume a bit more interesting but they have missed the boat with the bottle. I thoughr only this version had the ugly bottle but a giftset at target had 3 of their versions with the ugly bottle why cant they just leave things alone. This is another really good release in their collection but common guys customers were already feeling the brand was tacky and this doesnt help.the original bottles were simple but you could have just improved the cap so it wasnt cheap plastick bunny ears. Lookout takeasniff will be invading the marketing department at playboy to make so changes! Just kidding :)

This was pretty surprising considering the price. Which is why I blind bought it. My expectations were next to zero. I suspecting chemical and knock-offs. I was more than taken back when I began testing it I was entranced with that Tonka, Chocolate Patch cocktail. It spritzed on very nicely and surrounded me with most pleasant sultry combinations of scents though a tad sweeter, but not too noticeably so, than Play It Spicy.. They did a good job on the blending, never smelt even the slightest cheap or chemical residue. The dry-down did not diminish the experience in the least and even settled into a very alluring and warm and only slightly sweet afterglow. I was pretty impressed. Enough to blind buy their other fragrance that fell into my preferred "Scent/note safe zone" that being "Play It Spicy" which also solidified my trust in (At least these 2)scents as "very trustable nice despite the price". They are slightly different, yet very familiar to one another and both sit extremely well on my skin and body chemistry.

This is a very interesting perfume. Based on the notes and reviews, I expected something much different. When I sprayed it, my nose was met with a sweetly spicy scent but I was taken aback by an overwhelming note of... freshly cleaned cotton clothes? It’s actually very nice! I’m not sure if anyone else has picked up on this, or if it’s just my nose in particular. It is definitely in the same family as Noir Tease, Gucci, etc, but I don’t feel that it’s a dupe. At least not for me because of that intriguing cotton note. I’m a “clothes-sprayer” so this works out well for me. I actually had the Clean Warm Cotton fragrance on my mind the other night, but I ended up liking this perfume a lot more. To my nose, it still evokes the idea of fresh laundry without smelling like detergent (and it’s way cheaper too, so I can justify spraying it all over my wardrobe). Also I doubt that the Playboy fragrance guys will read this, but please bring back the old bottle style, lol.

Still trying to decide if I like this or not. First things first to me this smells nothing like black opium. And I purchased it based off reading reviews that said it does. Queen of the game smells like a can of grape soda that had a bottle of viva la juicy poured into it. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, I just don’t know how I feel about smelling like grape soda. The one thing I will say is the longevity is absolutely horrible. This is the first perfume that I’ve ever tried that left absolutely no trace of the scent on my skin after 2 hours. No dry down, no nothing. Just gone. For that reason I lean more towards not liking this fragrance. So I don’t know. If I happen to reach for this in the future I’ll leave an updated review but for now it will go to the back of my perfume drawer with play it spicy.

The first time i sprayed it i knew it immediately reminded me of another perfume that i have and its Beyonce Heat Rush. They have similar scents that if you like Rush, you can get this instead for a cheaper price. This smells nice. And for a cheapie, it is good. Like Heat Rush, the grapey soda vibe at initial spray is very prominent. After awhile it mellows into something more sweet and gourmand. I barely smell any patchouli. Its more berry, slightly floral and vanilla. I do not really see much similarity with black opium. But i do get why they compare it with it. The bottle is meh so i put it behind my nicer ones lol. Longevity is ok. Sillage is moderate.

I am on the hunt for a fragrance with a pronounced coffee note. I was intrigued by the reviews for this cheapie and thought I'd give it a try. First spray and for about 15 minutes max I get a very pleasantly sweet, chocolatey floral with some tonka and a whiff of patch. 15 minutes tops...then...nothing. Not on my clothes or skin. Nada. Zip. If you are looking for a coffee note in this fragrance keep on looking because its not here!

At the very first smell I thought it to be a Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia (which I'm totally in love with!) dupe. Then it evolved into something different, warmer and surprising. This perfume has some creamy notes that really suite to autumn time, from my POV. I think I've found the perfect complement to my Argan Oil shower gel by Omia Laboratories!
