Blanket

Just another soft, beautiful and comforting scent from Poesie. Love it.

Blanket has the slightly sour musty smell of an old wool blanket underlaid with a slightly sweet vanilla. I got a sample and used it up wearing it to bed. Not my favorite scent to wear but very evocative and 10/10 concept execution. In that sense it reminds me of scents like Steamed Rainbow - not because it smells similar but because with both I am incredibly impressed by how well they capture a specific scent/memory and although I don’t want to smell LIKE this, I find that I keep wanting to smell it.

At the opening, this smells strongly of a sweet vanilla-steeped incense to me. It settles down to a characteristically cozy smell, but with a slight smoky and animalic tinge that makes me think of barbecue when sniffed too closely, regrettably. It does evoke 'blanket,' but it's a blanket from someone else's home where I'm mostly a stranger. I am somehow warming up to it as I wear it, but its unfamiliarity is a bit unsettling.

I wanted a nice cozy perfume. I’m sad to say that I hated it. Maybe I put too much on or did something wrong but it smelled really bad. I got a bit of sweet smell that was immediately overpowered by something awful. I’m new to perfumes and this one of the first that I’ve hated this badly. Maybe it could’ve smelled better if I waited longer to wash it off. I couldn’t take wearing it for even ten minutes. This perfume doesn’t even have that many notes. Idk how I could dislike it this much.
