Ivory Lace

This is my favorite scent in the Lace Collection, and it might also be the softest. The honey note is more prominent up top, but then it fades and the full force of the vanilla and “antique lace” comes forward. I can’t decide what exactly I think this “antique lace” note is. I detect it in the undercurrent in all of the scents in this collection (hence the name—duh!). It’s maybe a light benzoin and/or labdanum? I have no idea! It smells good, and not at all musty, as one might expect “antique lace” to smell like. Anyway, I am not a huge fan of honey notes in perfumes, but this one faded within 20 minutes or so on me, and now it’s just a lovely vanilla, not crazy-complex, just cozy...comforting...warm. Projection is very low on me. I’m wearing it to bed, so it’s hard to say what the longevity will be. Based on its strength now after about an hour, I’m predicting 3-4 hours, but I will update when I’ve tested it again. Great scent! Would be great to keep a roller of this in one’s purse or bag to roll on, as I find it very soothing—like a hug.

Poesie’s description of this scent is "Three vanillas -- rich, creamy and airy -- are lashed with deep amber honey and blended with an antique lace accord which adds an ivory-tinged warmth with hints of faded florals and vanilla. The effect is an enveloping sweetness that has a velvety, plush texture and comforting softness.” What I smell is a “vintage” vanilla. It’s dry and warm vanilla with an overtone of something dusty or antique. I get the impression of old book pages and yellowed lace pulled from a chest found in a long forgotten attic corner. It’s an almost sour but not unpleasant note that reminds me a bit of "Blanket | Poesie Perfume". It’s not one I’d repurchase if the opportunity arose but it’s always a delight to smell Poesie’s creations and I’m consistently impressed by how well they capture whatever scent/image/memory/atmosphere they’ve set out to evoke.

I love this scent so much. I wish I could buy a huge bottle of it and never run out.
