Soft

This is heavenly. The best thing I've ever smelled, so comforting and cozy. As an Asian person, I have fond memories of smelling rice cooking in the kitchen while hanging out with my mom, and this bring me immediately back to those memories. It's fragrant, fluffy, slightly sweet, slightly nutty, and I just can't get enough. The only problem is that it's gone within 5 minutes of spraying. I imagine that the notes that make up this fragrance just don't have any longevity. I have desperately tried to find other rice scents that provide some more longevity (e.g., d'Annam White Rice, Diptyque L'Eau Papier, Kenzo Amour, Arielle Shoshana Sunday, Strangers Chokedee, The Strange South And From The Strong Comes The Sweet, NAVA Rice Milk Musk, Alkemia Silken Tent, the list goes on and on), and I haven't found another fragrance that can recreate that rice note as realistically as Poesie.

All I have to say is that the description on the website really does do this perfume justice: it is made for a day off, sleeping in, with no responsibilities. This is such a unique, sweet but slightly warm and crisp smell. My mom said she smelled cinnamon, but I smelled sweet creamy rice, but not too powdery on the creamy smell it was more from an oil or butter base to the cream. I got this in the oil tester size and this was actually my last pick from the batch, but it was the first to be tried on and I fell in love with it! It is definitely a 'your skin but better' type of projection, but mine stuck on for the day and whenever my arms passed by my face I got a strong whiff. Comforting, and reminds me of smelling my bird as we are cuddling to sleep. Soft, warm, sweet, and just comforting. Excited to try the other scents from poesie! My rating: 9.5/10 Moms rating: 8/10

An absolutely STUNNING realistic rice scent. Rice as a note has been my recent obsession for the unique starchy, slightly sweet creaminess that it can add to fragrances. This is everything I look for in a rice perfume; by far the most realistic I have found, and the rice shines as the star of the show rather than being overpowered by louder notes. I have a tiny sample of the perfume oil which sits very close to the skin. I plan to try the EDP to see if the projection is better. However, I tend to wear rice perfumes when I am in the mood for a cozy, intimate, soothing scent for myself rather than a powerhouse to project to others. For this reason, I don't mind the low projection. Rice lovers, I highly urge you to try this one.

This is a winner for a reason. I get orris first on, powdery soft and woody, like actual orris root, and a soft sweetness that is so very pleasant. I don’t actually get rice or coconut at all, just a soft sweet scent. As it dries there are moments if feels like actual Iris flower, the purple one, but softly. I suppose I can imagine it as rice, but as I was expecting to immediately be thinking of steamed rice, this didn’t do that. But I really really like it a ton. Layering a lot more on, I do get that rice note. This is really pretty. I am going to seek out the edp. I tried the water perfume which is very light. This is a thumbs up comfort scent but also a gentle skin scent that just feels like a hug. Winner.

In my quest for the perfect rice fragrance, Soft really stood out as a strong contender. It's one of the most realistic rice frags I've tried so far- it smells like starchy, jasmine rice fresh from the bag- more of an uncooked, powdery rice, or maybe the residual water as the rice is being washed. I do like the initial spray more than the drydown, once the realistic rice scent dissipates a bit, there's a bit of a woody, musty scent- kind of like an old, dusty wooden armoire. However, days later, the drydown on clothes of this perfume is super nice and musky, almost sandalwood-like, so I think the musty wood scent doesn't linger too long. Decent longevity for an indie frag! I got the 8 ml EDP.

i will inevitably be doing this fragrance a disservice when i try to describe it but yall will just have to bear with me. it reminds me of a new book, a breezy spring afternoon, and the feeling of getting into bed straight out the shower with freshly clean sheets. it’s not too sweet, strong, bitter, floral, or musky. it’s just a perfectly simple rice note that does all the heavy lifting on its own 'soft' is the closest i have to the rice cooker that my ex took back when we broke up. it's THAT photo realistic to a freshly steamed jasmine rice i have never smelled something like it before. it's absolutely perfect and i cannot wait to bathe in it every day.

my sample just came in this week and i tried it on as soon as it arrived and this is by far my favoite rice and gourmand i have come across. it is enjoyable in the way that is more subtle than a traditional gourmand, realistic to what it is marketed as, and relatively linear like most of the fragrances i wear on a day to day i pick up solely on milky rice and cinammon in the background that very reminiscent of both horchata and milky musk 39 from parle moi de parfum. i will have to try the both of them side by side and come back, but based off my current memory, despite both being similar, i feel i would still need both :0

I'm a sucker for a rice note, and of everything I've tried (White Rice by d'Annam, Santal Basmati by Affinescence, Madar by Poesie, Sweet Farewell by Strangers Perfumerie, and L'eau Papier by Diptyque) this is the most rice-like of them all. It really is like opening up a rice cooker and smelling the steam peeling up from it. It's gorgeous, really. Pillowy, starchy, a little savory. It is rice as rice should be. I love to wear this to bed or for a low key day inside on the weekend. Finished my sample and am anxiously awaiting the EDP restock.

The perfect sleep scent to me. There is no "letting it dry down" or unpleasant top notes: it's sweet, starchy and nutty, and perfect right from the start. I layer this with missing persons for bedtime sometimes, and I will literally fall asleep with my nose right on my wrist to lull myself to sleep. Edit: I'm so sad. Somehow, this has gone super bitter? It almost has a burnt-sesame-seed effect on my skin. Very confused, as this is my second bottle.

I got the edp and wow wow wow it is amazing! This is the softest steamiest gentlest rice fragrance. It's so subtly nutty, and cozy, as if I'm being wrapped in a warm blanket of steamed rice. Compared to white rice by d'Annam, this is much much less musky and a bit sweeter. I think that the projection is good enough to have a little bubble, but it isn't anything crazy. I really love how this fragrance smells and wish I could get bigger bottles!

Such a beautiful rice scent - it's nothing like White Rice by D'annam which I also love - it's smoother and sweet but not too sweet. It is the most comforting bedtime and work-from-home scent. The longevity is basically non-existent, the notes disappear in minutes. I have been layering it with White Rice and I find that the longevity is a little better that way. I need Poesie to make a big bottle of this, I would drown myself in it.

i bought a sample of the perfume oil out of curiosity & wow, this smells so much better than i thought it would have!! not that i thought it was gonna smell bad, but i didn't expect to love it this much. it smells sweet but fresh, such a non offensive but lovely & memorable scent...i think ill buy a bigger size of this once my sample runs out (or maybe the water based spray :D)

Very savory, musky, and slightly sweet like rice pudding. Sillage is very intimate, but this scent is long-lasting on skin and clothes. I have the perfume oil and will apply at night - it's incredibly soothing to have on before bed. The scent is calming and nostalgic. Also, my partner is absolutely obsessed with smelling me when I wear this, lol.

This fragrance is my holy GRAIL. However it really does not last too long or project that much which is heartbreaking. I'm hoping getting the non oil version will help this because I am addicted!!! It is literally so soft and perfect and ricey and sweet.

Musky rice that sits super close to the skin. I love it for layering and at bedtime— just lovely and soothing!

This is my first experience with a rice perfume. I gotta admit, I’m a fan! This smells like rice that’s been perfectly cooked (soft and doesn’t stick together) and a lovely shea butter lotion. If you’re someone who wants to do fragrance, but suffer from migraines or work in the medical field, “Soft” is a seriously good option. This is comforting and gentle. The perfume truly embodies her name. She is soft, lovely and only slightly more feminine than unisex. I’m surprised how much I like this! I’m not sure if I’ll purchase a small bottle but I could see this delicate rice scent joining my collection. 8.2/10

oh thank god this is on fragrantica now. the toastiest, purest, coziest cooked rice scent ever. the oil version smells almost like buttered rice and i do wonder if it’s due to the oil itself (this is an uninformed opinion so i could be very wrong!) - will update on the edp if im able to get my hands on it. longer lasting & stronger projection would make this a DREAM!!

it's yummy and cozy! to me, this doesn't smell a completely photorealistic rice. the rice is there for sure, and it's very fluffy and well, soft. there's a lot more sweetness and soft warm spiciness in this fragrance than i anticipated, which i actually like quite a bit. this is a good sleep scent, like curling up with a warm cloud

Sweet steamed rice. Pretty pleasant, but not AS rice-like as I was hoping.
