Shock-In-Scent For Women

If Jean Paul Gaultier's 'Scandal' and Elie Saab's 'Girl of Now' had a baby...her name would be 'Shock-In-Scent'! Remove the patchouli and waxiness from Scandal and add the buttery-nuttiness of 'Girl of Now' this is it. The opening of this scent is so flippin' delicious and seductive. It's fruity and a bit nutty. I know the notes say 'bergamote' but the opening really reminds me of a slightly sour pear with honey and nuts. In 2 hours it settles into this delicious honey with complimenting florals and slightly powdery orris, which reminds me SO MUCH of JPG 'Scandal'. The amber note doesn't emerge until the 7th-8th hour on my skin. The performance is nuclear: lasts forever on the skin and has fantastic projection. I'd say better performance than Police's 'Forbidden'. I only have 1 issue with this perfume, and it's the EXACT same issue I had with JPG's 'Scandal'. The drydown after 8 hours (without respraying) turns into a pee scent on my skin. I realised after trying multiple perfumes that the honey note doesn't work well at all on me. However on the 10th hour that pee scent turns into chocolate! Surprisingly pleasant. This is a high quality, well blended, gorgeous fragrance that I cannot recommend enough to honey and gourmand perfume lovers! Superbly sexy in winter and fall!

Sweet & Clean Citrus & Candied-Almond... Inspired by Scandal Jean Paul Gaultier, this beauty isn't an exact dupe but has a good approximation with a twist and excellent performance. Opens with a sweet burst of candied almond supported by multi-faceted bergamot, that deepens into the white-floral heart of jasmine with clean touches from something near neroli & orange-blossom (not listed), and yellow-floral touches from ylang. This all rests on a base of honey-amber and orris root. Alongside there is a sugar-crystal texture carrying all of the notes. Overall this has a more forward nutty quality than Scandal. The clean touches from white-floral have a soft but pleasant dryer-sheet vibe that swells into the opening a little but quickly takes a backseat for the drydown which goes in a more honey-almond direction. The orris root here is bringing a powderiness that adds to the sugar-crystal texture popular in scents like La Vie Est Belle Lancôme (although these are different scent profiles). Well above average performance for a year round wearing experience, but I would be more likely to wear this in fall & winter. For what it is, it's a love for me. Enjoy!

Perfume junkie and long time Fragrantica lurker but HAD to sign up just to leave a review for this...WOW! I cannot believe this was £15 on Amazon Prime, wore this all day in hot and sweaty London town and OMG the most beautiful smell wafted all around me- in fact I can still smell it around me now after cleaning and hoovering some 12 hours after spraying...I kept thinking ‘what is that divine, heavenly smell?’ and then realised it was this layered over my gardenia scented coconut body oil :) This works so well for me and is just as good as any of my TF, high end, niche, or arabic gems imo. Can’t smell any bergamot, thank goodness- it’s migraine inducing for me, instead this is jasmine & ylang ylang DRENCHED in honey rounded off with a touch of spicy patchouli. I love a sweet scent with an edge and this ticks all the boxes for me, added to my daily rotation next to Alien and Rouge 540. As others have mentioned, the lid is basically a bed of nails but the juice inside is worth it. So happy I found this via Fragrantica - who doesn’t love a bargain of this quality?

This is so good, it quickly turned into a ride-or-die for me. First blast- honey. Sweet, dense, realistic honey. More realistic then I’ve ever encountered. Like, beyond honey. Sweet flowers are in here too, I definitely get the ylang. And a powderyness that to me feels like a yellow powder, almost pollen like. The thing that makes this fragrance sing is that I can smell the two accords coming through at the same time. They’re dancing around my body at different levels, a juicy joyful cherry/almond/honey, and at the same time a dry yellow powder. What a composition this is! Lasts for-ev-er, and I’ll happily wear it any season, daytime or dates. 10/10 for me!! P.S. If you’re feeling adventurous I highly suggest Ted Lapidus White Soul Gold & Diamonds. Very similar opening to this, then a realistic caramel, drying down to an Alien jasmine/amber combo. Not as bombastic as Shock-In-Scent, but a Francis Kurkdjian creation and quite a ride.

As other people have said this is a lot like Scandal and Scandal By Night. Which I love and are among my favourite perfumes. Side by side they are almost identical. I'd say the honey is stronger here and I find it actually lasts a lot longer on the skin than the JPG perfumes which are slightly softer. I sprayed mine in the morning and could still smell it in bed and the next morning on my wrists. The silage isn't huge but that's the same as the JPG originals. It's an intimate perfume. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear it. On my skin it starts with the beautiful musky white flowers and then the honey amber scent remains on dry down with a touch of powder. For a fraction of the price of Scandal, longer lasting and just as delicious, I'd probably say I prefer shock-in-scent. The only downside is the bottle top. It was on so tight and because of the spikes it was really hard to take the lid off! But it was worth it. 😂
