To Be

I got this fragrance as a birthday present by my grandma. She knew I was easy to please when it comes to fragrances so she just bought it and hoped I would like it. Firstly, I LOVE the bottle. It is absolutely amazing. The skull-shaped glass is surprisingly easy to handle. I have the biggest possible bottle - 125 ml, however, it looks smaller than I imagined. I compared it with my 'Believe' by B. S. bottle, which is 100 ml and the Believe one looks bigger. 'To be'takes up a little space in my collection which is great The scent was not really impressing at first. The first spray was citrusy and generic. However, in a few minutes, it turned in to beautiful lavender with a hint of pepper. This is the most prominent note of the scent. The citrus is quite soft and stays 'in the background'. I wanted to mention that the sprayer is the finest one I have ever owned. It sprays small amounts of the product and reminds me of the vintage bottles which have that pump attached to them. For this reason, I strongly recommend that you spray 2-3 times when you first try it. I spray more than I usually do whenever I use it so more product gets applied to my skin. The longevity is great for the price. It lasts a good 4-5 hours. Its projection is moderate to soft, so the perfume is perfect if you work in an office or any small space. I reckon that it is suitable for any season, however I will have to try it as soon as the weather warms up. Overall, it is a simple, but inoffensive and pleasant fragrance which I really like. ---------- Bottle: 10/10 Scent: 7.5/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10

I bought this for my husband after growing sick of his Versace Eros scent that can be much too overpowering for everyday wear. My husband is a no-frills guy who works in the trades and doesn't really see the value in spending too much on scents (opposite of myself) so I was glad to find something for $20 that would satisfy his needs. I was actually standing in Shoppers Drug Mart and pulled up Fragrantica when I saw this scent on the shelf for $19.99 to check out the notes before I purchased. I was intrigued by the notes in To Be and thought this would be a safe buy. To my surprise I actually really like this scent - really, really like this scent. Although it does not smell as "expensive" or "complex" as other designer mens' frags that I have smelled in passing, this is a safe everyday scent that satisfies the sexy/fresh category. This scent is also kind of sweet with the amber accord, which I love. My favorite men's fragrances are spicy and this definitely has a bit of spice to it. It's a really great buy for $20 - I can't stop smelling him. You know it's a winner when it makes you feel some type of way when you smell it on your man, if you know what I mean.

A dry aquatic that many owners will find growing appreciation for the more they wear it. "To Be" reminds me of a more youthful/fruity version of Narciso Rodriguez For Him. It's not a ground breaker, but it's not "run of the mill" either. "To Be" wins respect with me, and I enjoy it's watery and powdery tug of war that keeps those around me guessing just what the hell kind of scent I'm wearing this time. The thing I like most about this one is the cool feeling it gives me. It's classified as a Spring scent, but I enjoy wearing it in Summer too. It makes me feel as if I'm wading in a fresh water creek, riddled with wet rocks just outside of a forrest filled with heavy trees, ferns and patchouli, as citrus trees on the bank invite you to enter a dank, ozonic green oasis where light begins to fad away and cooler air seperates itself from the sunny and warm shoreline. A nice addition to my small collection.

Definitely pick this one up if you see it at a retailer for a good price. "To Be" is unique and it's own animal. It's not trying to clone anything from my experience of collecting so far. I've had a bottle for over 3 years now and it's been money well spent. I like to wear it in the warm weather while driving on the highway with my windows rolled down as I'm listening to 80's music. A very ozonic and breezy scent with a green and rocky miniral water type feel to it. Almost smells like a cold river near a cave. If you're over 35 and hate aquatics, it may be worth seeking this one out. "To Be" has a little more to offer, in my opinion than the typical "run of the mill" Spring/Summer offerings on the market today. Unique.

a lot of mixed reviews here, but i say give this a go. its fruity and aromatic with decent sillage and longevity ,,,reminds me of l'homme. definitely a keeper and im gonna give this a lot of wear this spring summer and fall. you'll see this in shops at the moment , so go give it a test before you buy.. Re edit.. I really do love this stuff, it's an amber monster and a really lovely amber that switches on after about two hours of wear. I've picked up the big bottle as its so cheap at the moment,,don't miss out on this one guys, its all about the amber.. Re-review.I was wrong about this smelling like L'homme. This smells identical to Thallium, but with a amber drydown. Layering the two is fantastic..

For 20 Australian dollars this is a pretty good little cologne. To Be by Police is definitely not a ground breaking scent but a good everyday wear that i find myself reaching for quite often, during the spring and summer. The scent profile is clean, conforting soapy and aromatic with a hint of pepper, it lasts for about 5-6 hours if i over spray. Again it's good for the price and worth checking out unless your a total niche snob lol

I love this perfume which smells very good. It has a masculine odor and class at a time. It often happens that the perfumes for men give me headache because they feel too strong but it is not the case of this one. I bought it a few years ago to my boyfriend and it is his perfume since. I advise you men, women love it ;)

I imagine myself wearing this during summer 2018 and I like the idea. It's a very nice aquatic scent, and I'll buy it again. The bottle is great too.. The only thing I'm worried about is the sillage.. Although this scent is not a beast, it would be a good idea to have it in your collection.

It is a teenagers must have! Compliment getting, cheap and very versatile. I also find I pretty distinctive and could differentiate it out of all other blue fragrances. Although the bottle looks a bit tacky somehow I like it quiet a bit. Guys just give it a try you won't regret it

I think this is nice its really pleasant and not offending or strong like joop but you will notice it on the wearer. You do not want to be the same as everyone as else & wear the same edt's. I would quite confiently wear this in most situations.

Good scent, fruity and slightly woody. I haven't felt anything "spicy" in it. It is just another typical "blue" cologne. At first sight, it reminded me of 2 colognes I know, which in my opinion are better: Nautica Blue, which I already had 2 bottles, and Quartz Silver, which is more modern and gave me more quality, since it has better projection and lasting power. I venture to say that they "were created at the same orphanage, but were adopted by different families" ...LOL. And the bottle is part of the visual identity of the entire line, in which the brand decided to combine their fragrances to the skull, a symbol of rebellion and transgression, which has been reinterpreted by young designers and gaining space in the fashion world nowadays.

My parents had bought this perfume in 2014 . One random day I was searching through my storage and found the empty bottle . Sudden surge of all the nostalgia so I just bought it without a second thought First of all the bottle quality has degraded The older bottle has a metal ‘police’ logo whereas the new one has a plastic one and also it has a metal skull pin About the smell I doesn’t smell the way it was back in 2014 as I remember ( I asked my dad and he also told I smells a bit different) I smell the violet leaf more as compared to the old one Other than that it’s okish not as good back then

This starts out as a 'synthetic-nostril-burner' with what I can only describe as a 'detergent-like' top end. But.......if you can hang on about 30 minutes or so it does calm down. Yes it continues to be synthetic but pleasantly sweet and aromatic(spicy). It is a bit too fruity-sweet for my nose so I guess it is aimed more towards the teens and 20's crowd but not bad for an everyday juice and it is reasonably priced these days too. PS I tried "To Be The King" today which I find better than regular "To Be"......Must try "To Be The Illusionist" too....so many fragrances so little time. :o)

This one looks like magic: As you spray it, the scent comes really really soft, making you even think that the reviews you read about it were wrong, talking about nice sillage and projection. Then, during the drydown, the magic starts, and the fragrance begins to grow. I liked the smell, it's a fresh-sweet, and not that fruity-sweet type. Honestly I can't fell the woody notes it's supposed to have, but it pleases me, nonetheless. About the bottle, it's beautiful and interesting, but it's dangerous, as you may let it fall if you're handling it with wet hands.

Ive had this fragrance a long time, and it used to be my signature. As a man I love it. Some women like it too, but others think it is too strong. It really depends on the person, but for the price and the incredible bottle design, it is a steal. The scent is unique enough to stand on its own, so try it out if you are unsure. Also a small bottle is cheap enough for a blind-buy. The flanker To Be King lasts longer in my opinion, and is slightly more spicy.

Underrated in my opinion. Sure it's pretty linear. From the opening to the dry down, it's the same. The performance is decent for a freshie. Easily gets 6+hours and the projections isn't that bad either. It's inoffensive shower gel type scent but something about this keeps pulling me back in to this over the other freshies out there/ in my collection. Not a fan of the bottle but it's about the juice inside. The atomiser is also pathetic.

So..I felt this had some similar characteristics to Acqua di Gio Profumo. So I sprayed 1/2 of me with To Be and half with ADGP they are not exactly alike but similar and the To Be out preformed. This has a weird scent curve. It goes from citrus and pepper to a more woody sweet and at the end of the curve it comes back with the pepper note reappearing. I could wear this year round and day or night. I’m 65 and it smells good.

HUBBA HUBBBA Sex bomb fragrance Smells very synthetic and chemically but gets compliments as it is evidently the greatest thing ever formulated. This is the only fragrance you will EVER need so good so great top quality Any time of year tbh notes are hard to discern at times but smells alright Price 10/10 Longevity 4-5/10 Sillage 5/10 Cant go too wrong, not like its a waste of money as its so cheap 4/10

This is a pleasant summer daytime scent which reminds me Sauvage and all this ambroxan madness of modern perfumery. Fresh, spicy and versatile scent with dominant ambroxan, strong grapefruit, noticeably peper and noticeably but mild violet leaf. This note is well tempered. I also get faint green apple. Performance is good. Moderate sillage/projection with high-moderate longevity.

The opening is a bit on the brash side, fairly synthetic, but then it mellows down into a nice soapy and woody mix, longevity is really good for such a cheap fragrance, and it's one that does actually get compliments. The bottle looks pretty cool on display, and it has one of the best atomisers I've ever come across, it's very satisfying to use. Worth a punt.

I remember the first time i saw this perfume with it's projection of the skull. i got this perfume only because it has a skull form hahaha. Anyways the inside it's really good as well. I can say it's better than other " police perfumes " . From my opinion it's a good perfume to use at any time. over-all rating : 3.5/5 Smell : 3.5/5

A sweet, slightly woody, fuzzy, berry fragrance. Reminds me a little of Silver Scent, Fuel For Life and Armani Emporio He/Lui. It's actually quite pleasant. It's not new or groundbreaking in any way but why should it be? After all it's obviously a bit of a gimmick with its naff bottle. I think it's worth its cheap price.

The sillage is very good, Only one spray and it projects about 1.5 meters for about 6 hours !!! the scent is mild it'self but the longevity and projection are similar to warm-heavy colognes like SilverScent... "To Be" is surely a lighter and softer version of SilverScent by Jacques Bogart

É uma cópia do Diesel Only The Brave! Mas é mais sintético e barato! Eu não sei porque, mas a fixação do To Be é bem melhor que o Diesel. It's a copy of Diesel Only The Brave! but more synthetic and cheap. I don't know why, the longevity of To Be is way better than Diesel.

Love the bottle like the scent. Synthetic soapy smell, but pleasant. Nothing special, but still nice. Anyone could wear it. Bottle is great. Really cool skull design and awesome pressurized atomizer. Price is really good too. Not a must have, but for the price no regrets.

I used to like. Considering it was my first one, good enough for a 16 year old. And it lasted for about 5 years, as I'm not a perfume maniac. After started to smell like alcohol, so RIP. But considering the price - best buy for teens.

It's hard not to like this really, it's a nice fragrance, cheap, and a cool bottle. Very much agree with the notes pyramid, violet leaves and Amber. Longevity is the issue, not great, but at this price it can be applied liberally.

My boyfriend in med school tried this on as a bit of a joke really, because of the bottle. It was great on him though, nice and fresh. The grapefruit explains why like it so much, I love grapefruit scents.

Tested it today, and must say it's very good combo of black pepper, grapefruit and violet If just they have used some other bottle instead of that childish skull, it would have been much popular frag

very very good perfume, i like the mix of the fresh spicy, aquatic and citrus smell. very nice for this money the silage is good, the longevity is a hard question.. I give it to 8/10!

It's nice unique ozonic fresh fragrance in great price! Really good cheapy for warm weather totally worths it!!

Police To Be is an often found cheapie. To Be is a tacky bottle design with a clear crystalized skull. I want to say To Be wanted to take from the Diesel Only the Brave bottles which similarly was another body part, a fist. And also Ed Hardy Skull & Roses. Like Only the Brave, To Be has similarly become a flanker fodder lime with the bottle getting reskinned and far more often than Only the Brave, had notes changed. To Be I think actually got more flankers than Only the Brave. Shocking, I know... Police To Be goes into a Burberry Touch/ YSL L'Homme Libre violet heavy direction. There was grapefruit was there originally but now I smell more violet. The grapefruit gave it a similar Invictus/Only the Brave vibe before going into the violet direction. As time has gone on, it has been more violet and can be a bit brash. The violet dominates the fragrance especially after the grapefruit dies off. There is some cedar and amber, but the violet dominates it. It is spicy from the pepper and the violet. That said I disagree that it smells like Versace The Dreamer. It absolutely does not, even the newer formulations. Versace The Dreamer is a smooth Tobacco with iris, this is just slightly abrasive. For use, I find it just casual and work use. You will smell OK and presentable. It isn't a foul chemical mess like many cheapies could be, but it will be a little too common to wear on dates. It is not good for clubs or nights because it doesn't project like other Police fragrances like Potion Power in particular can. For this I give Police To Be a 6.8 out of 10. If you need a cheapie to fill an order requirement, this is not the worst one to get. There are other Police fragrances I would suggest, even in the line I would suggest before this one but this could work more than other Police options that tend to be rebottles of other Police fragrances.

On paper this sounds fantastic, black pepper and grapefruit I immediately think of Issey Miyake's line of Nuit D'Issey like fragrances and violet leaf done right in fragrances like Givenchy Gentlemen Only (2013) or Dior Fahrenheit (EDT). The person we gifted this to seems to enjoy it so no complaints there. This is just forgetful. A generic light blue "Fresh" fragrance. I'd describe it as a soapy fragrance, a bit spicy on top but it's like a no name, store branded body wash. Although I can't find anything wrong with it and I can understand how low the budget must have been. I really felt they could have done better. As police have a few actually good fragrances. The only thing good I can say is that after a few sprays it did get louder. This is designed for people new to fragrances. For under $30 you can do a lot worse. If you can save up a bit more for Afnan Turathi blue or get Lattafa Sheikh Al Shuyukh Final Edition instead, Even if they weren't copies of much more expensive fragrances I'd still recommend them for lasting longer and smelling better. Especially if final edition "ages" for 2 or so months on your shelf, it's one of the best budget oriented dark blue fragrances I've tried.

Police To Be is okay. It's nothing special, but it's a decent cheapie. The note breakdown doesn't look accurate, because I'm definitely smelling a green apple note in this fragrance. It's synthetic, but nothing chemically. The longevity is satisfactory for an inexpensive fragrance. It lasts about 6-7 hours and the sillage is subtle. Police To Be is ideal for spring and summer. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this fragrance, but if you are on a tight budget and want to wear a fresh fragrance, Police To Be has got your back.

Police To Be had me fooled at first—it smelled great on the tester strip, like it was about to become my new signature scent. Then I put it on my skin and... poof. It turned into the perfume equivalent of elevator music. Not bad, not offensive, just there. It’s like it promised me fireworks and gave me a polite handshake instead. Good for when you want to smell “fine, I guess,” but not if you’re trying to make a statement.

Police To Be is one of those fragrances that nobody will either love or hate with much passion. It is a slightly off-kilter blend of soapiness, sharp CKish synthetics and blue sweetness. I finished one bottle and never had a desire to revisit it. I enjoyed the smell much more on first wearing than I did on the last one. A forgettable effort best suited for high schoolers. This is not bad. A synthetic fresh smell that a young lad with an uncomplicated personality could rock. I picked this up out of curiosity at a discount store and paid close to nothing and I use it as an air freshener, for which it is pretty decent.

It’s a bit synthetic and generic. Ok for after the gym or if you are going to the beach for some casual beers with some friends or something like that. Nothing bad it just is what it is.

My friend had the shower gel (which was more on the fruity side) and wanted to get the scent. I advised him to test it on the skin first. Luckily he did, because it turned out to be a stinging unpleasant scent - like something rotten. I guess it's targeted at younger men. The bottle is also rather bad, I think. I don't like the design at all.

I had this one I really dont like it smells really sharp violet leaf and patchouli the problem is it gets very cloying all the time (Including winter months) when i wore gives me headache definitely not recommended in the summer time and there is no problem with the longevity and projection lingers 7+ hours on the skin..

Police To Be - The scent is synthetic-spicy. I can't see myself wearing this. Apart from the harsh synthetic peppery opening the dry-down is quite linear, it stays sweet and floral with a little spice thrown in to the mix. Scent: 5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 4/10 Bottle: 4/10 Value for money: 5/10

I have tried this a few times and just can't take to it. There's something about it I just don't like. To me smells very synthetic but strangely not like anything else. Will give to my brother or friend, maybe it just doesn't gel with my skin and work better for someone else

neverhave I smelled something that should less be in a skull bottle. I have always hated POLICE,and this does not help their picture, for this is literally what my deodorant smelles when I was in elemental school. And it was bad. 1000 times would take Zara over this brand.

I bought this a few years ago before I decided to start a fragrance collection. On paper the notes look nice, but it smells like a chemical mess. It's a cheap fragrance and it smells even cheaper. I'm definitely never buying another police fragrance ever again.
