À Ce Soir

Pont Des Arts À Ce Soir a colloquial phrase in French that means "See you Tonight" much Like "À Demain" means "See you Tomorrow". The design of bottle's cap is suppose to resemble the design of the arches on the famous Pont Des Arts bridge in Paris. Today it is also a tourist site and a pilgrimage for young couples to see countless padlocks of committed love attached to the bridge's railing. À Ce Soir has rocketed its way up into one of my most favorite amber fragrances if not my favorite. Every-time I wear it I find something new, and its presence is somehow very mood lifting. The way I would characterize À Ce Soir is that it is a Sparkly perfume somewhere in the middle of the spectrum bewteen Smokey and Powdery. I have tried all the Pont Des Arts and this house needs more recognition. Two things I could hope for if they do get popular is that they do not increase their great prices and still have the means to control the quality of their fragrance because I would not want À Ce Soir or any of their other offerings changed in any capacity. It is so unique and I now use it as a reference amber for any new amber fragrance I test vintage and modern the only other amber that rivals this that I love exuberantly is M De Morabito Pour Homme by Pascal Morabito a rugged masculine toned Dana Tabu which is somehow not archived on this website. For shame Fragrantica... À Ce Soir is office safe, signature safe, season safe while being smooth and incredibly well-designed and having a slight green edginess. So much fine detail is defined in this formula and it does not at all smell too complex or too simple. You can tell those who were involved in making this were doing so as a passion project, something personal, creating a fragrance that came directly from the heart and smelled satisfying to them. These projects are usually the ones that yield truly unique perfumes as À Ce Soir has no direct reference to any other amber I've smelled on the market so far. Wearing my Pont Des Arts samples casually for meetings at work prompted me to buy a bottle as soon as I could. À Ce Soir begins as a bracing opening of neat, earthy rum, cinammon and citruses which is slightly spicy, rooty and woody. It is tangy and diffusive, bright yellow then it begins to darken slightly. The unique pollen note takes control to become À Ce Soir's emphasis bringing a dusty sparkle to the composition and underneath it the creamiest, fattiest, narcissus and vanilla combination you may ever experience. The top is light, invigorating but without its base could have become too fleeting so it is properly emboldened, given life and performance by natural Tolu Balsam, Mastic resins and Siam Benzoin as an earthy, dusty, piney, green, slightly woody and chewy spine. À Ce Soir is unisex leaning masculine and for those looking to graduate from the somewhat synthetic and sometimes two dimensional MFKs, Kilians or Pradas. A truly flirtatious scent. Innocent, sincere, fashionable. A perfectly French fragrance, nouveau and unique that seems it is pushing some boundaries in the amber genre. I have followed a busy Bertrand from his creations from St. Giles to now Pont Des Arts and I know he's done countless other creations with Independent brands like Neela Vermeire, Majda Bekkali, Phoung Dang and The Different Company and Niche brands like Eau D'Italie, L'Artisan Parfeumer, Penhaligon's and MDCI Parfums. It truly seems he has an unending stream of ideas which is rather suspicious in all honesty. But he works as an established perfumer for Symrise which could mean he has a team behind him to help in these creation. It is somewhat forgivable because the prices for his creations are never ridiculous thankfully and the creations done by him are always new and unique. After smelling the whole line of creations in Pont Des Arts you can tell of Bertrand's creations that there is an edgy, sparkling, green and vegetal DNA linking À Chaque Instant and Next Tee to À Ce Soir. All Four Pont Des Arts fragrances are fantastic and unique and they can easily be worn for all seasons. I will be on a mission to obtain the ones I don't have. 🥃🌟🧈 10/10

Anyone who has spent time sampling fragrances has smelled some of Bertrand Duchaufour’s work. He’s created more than 200, some of them legendary: Jubilation XXV, Timbuktu L'Artisan Parfumeur, Chypre Palatin MDCI Parfums, Or du Serail Naomi Goodsir are ones I own and love best. He is prolific, yet I feel each scent I have named is unique in its exquisite allure. How could one Nose conjure these bewitching spirits from the four corners of the earth? He plumbs the depths with earthy notes, and reaches into the heavens with others, all the while searching for the rare blend which conjoin white tigers of spice, playful nymphs of powerful Diana, and the Olympian parents of Persephone. I am invoking myths because this fragrance, À Ce Soir, aspires to be transcendent. Here is how Ponts des Arts describes it: "À ce soir is a golden ball, vanilla absolute fairtrade, almost amber, golden with balsamic notes such as benzoin of Siam, a trace of tolu and cinnamon in the head, with the presence of a note gently caramelized , echo the balsamic effects.” In one sense, the description of the fragrance is like the fragrance itself, poetry in motion. It unfolds its notes with a strong opening and then calms down a bit, and ends with a nice dry down after 5 or more hours. I have been wearing it for the last three days and each time I can tease out a few more of the many ingredients. If your goal is to walk and a room and stop all conversation because its overpowering silage, this one is not for you. The silage is moderate but more on the heavy that the weak side. Longevity is hard to say exactly. If I spray some on before I go to bed I can still smell it as a skin scent in the morning. I will admit to over spraying a bit since in social-distancing mode I do like to spray more than once or twice. This is a fragrance that I can wear anywhere, but its name is apt, because it seems more of a nighttime than daytime scent. Would I rate this fragrance as another Duchaufour. Masterpiece? Yes. Note: I ordered this fragrance from Indigo Parrfumerie in Paris. The House itself could not ship to the US. I get no compensation of any sort for mentioning them, but I wanted to thank them for helping me obtain the fragrance which required them to undertake numerous twists and turns. The people who work at perfumeries or fragrance houses have, almost without exception, done everything possible to make sure they satisfy my requests. It is a caring community and one I hope customers will try to support as some begin to open up again around the world.

Sweet ambery opening With notes of vanilla, amber and pollen Pollen is giving it unique sweet and powdery qualities After dryinf narcissus emerges along with some other florals like ylang that make the fragrance very sweet and creamy At the same time it's also ambery and balsamic with some hints of boozy rum and cinnamon The notes combination here is so unique and masterfully blended A truly mesmerizing experience smelling this, I am absolutelyobsessed with the offerings of this house

A very unique Vanilla. 😍 Strong & Dominant: Narcissus, Pollen, Tolu Balm, Vanilla, Rum Secondary: Citron, Amber, Cinnamon, Mastic, Benzoin, Orchid, Ylang, Leather Discreet: Vetiver, Blackcurrant Bud, Pink Pepper Nonexistent: Bamboo, Tangerine • 3 minutes: Opening with a Bourbon Vanilla, warm, lemony and powdery, which slightly reminds me of “Vanille Insensée” of Atelier Cologne as well as “Vanille Fatale” of Tom Ford (very similar). • 5 - 10 minutes: The Lemon fades quickly to reveal an amber and golden Narcissus. Then quickly appears the smell of a sugar cane rum, a still in the fields. An agricultural and germinative blend, resulting from a well-started spring, dusty pollen from flowers and grasses. • 30 minutes: An arranged rum, spices, Cinnamon and Ylang. It smells of Martinique, west Indies. The creole Orchid is wild, exotic flowers finally assert themselves. The inconscpicuous Leather feels like suede or velvet, a soft texture under the fingers. + 1 hour: Less flamboyant, the fragrance finally flattens out through the dry down. Its aromatic side is later revealed. I haven't had the chance to discover any sort of equatorial greenery (relative to lush vegetation) that I was expecting. But I detect Vetiver which remind me of the smell of warm rain on a tropical and secluded island. It nevertheless remains balmy, signature of this vanilla spirit. I don't like the first 15 minutes after spraying, but I have to admit after wearing it all day, it has real and genuine potential (which was not obvious to me at first). I find it interesting after 2 hours, when it's done changing and drying. Because indeed, it's a fragrance with a slow rhythm and evolution. The projection isn't exuberant, rather intimate. The lasting power is however more serious, but not exceptional (5h-7h). The bottle design is beautiful. 👍 The real question is: Is it worth such that price for such moderate performances ?

I hate Cassis and blackcurrant. This is a wonderful perfume wasted by that cheap, urinous note.
