Water of Intuition

It's an actually likeable version of Santal 33. Sweeter and less earthy, the original santal 33 smells like sandalwood and dirt where as this is sandalwood and creamy marshmallows. I definitely agree with how people are saying it reminds them of both Santal 33 and Sweet Tooth, 100% a child of the two. Love it but not original at all, all the other fragrances in the line also smell like another fragrance. For someone so original with their art, it feels like these were made to copy popular fragrances as a cash grab. They might be high quality and long-lasting, but if I'm paying for a celebrity fragrance at a niche/designer price, I expect something more original. EDIT: I have fallen in love with this fragrance and will immediately be purchasing the full size when it comes out. There are two qualities that I love the most in a fragrance. That crowd-pleasing soft gourmand celebrity fragrance DNA. And secondly, an airy yet cozy skin musk kind of scent, like another 13, Glossier, you, Luca by Tsu Lan Yor, etc. I feel like this fragrance has just perfectly nailed the balance between these two things. And now I've lowkey changed my mind about this not being original because I actually think the combination of these two qualities is quite unique, so I'm no longer mad about it. Honestly, I see this being in my top 5 celebrity fragrances of all time, and I've had like 50+ I JUST NEED THAT FULL SIZE IMMEDIATELY, coz I hate that I can only wear this like once a month to preserve it.

I absolutely love this scent! I prefer woody,smoky,musky scents over sweet, vanilla, or gourmand scents. I absolutely do not ever want to smell like food😂 This scent is perfect for a girl like me. It is woody, with subtle notes of sweetness. It's sophisticated and LONG LASTING. I can smell it on me and my clothing 24hr later. You only need 1-2 sprays. I do wish it had more sillage. I wore it for the first time at Christmas and recieved no compliments on how I smelled. However it was a holiday and there were lots of people and food smells as well. But my signature scent ALWAYS gets me compliments even when surrounded by food and other smells. But also I've only worn this scent once in public so just something to note. I give this an 8/10 and I would buy it again. Also it is marketed as a winter scent which I do agree with but I would wear it year round. And this just irked me about another commenter that said Melanie's reason for discontinuing the crybaby milk perfume is BS. The company that produced that perfume closed down so it is impossible to be made again.

Recently bought 3 of the portals fragrances and I have now wore water of intuition and I loved it even more when I first sprayed it on my tester card. It’s very cosy warm scent and quite strong at first spray and I get spices it reminds me of “Your Turn” by Billie Eilish but just the freshness spice it’s not exactly the same when it’s settles. As it starts to settles down it’s kinda sweet with that vanilla note and there’s musk too still spicy but sweet also smells quite masculine I think males would like this scent. I absolutely love it and I would buy all of them again and will be trying the green version too

In simple words, creamy, smooth, airy yet cozy sandalwood, cacao, marshmallows and musk. This is just so perfectly blended, I feel like every note in here was measured to perfection. In my opinion, this perfume is the absolute PEAK of clean gourmands and I see it being wearable all year round. Think Santal 33 (but actually good) mixed with Sabrina Carpenter's Sweet Tooth. This would be my everyday signature scent if I could actually get a full-size bottle, ugh. Ridiculous that it's still only available in 15ml.

I hate to say it but this one is probably my favorite and the best scent from this collection. It's so fresh and reminds me of summer. It also smells like a dessert at the same time, it might be because of the musk scent.

reminds me of Akro Dark without so much of the dark chocolate. feels a little smoother and much more gentle! but smells kinda similar, i really enjoy it!

Water of intuition is very much musky but dipped in chocolate woods. It's very heavy on sandalwoods, which made confuse in the beginning wondering why there was no sweet even though there was amber. However within 10 minutes, it smells like a luxurious warm woody chocolate, but sandalwoods was still prominent. If you don't like musky and woody scent, this is DEFINITELY not for you. This is a not safe blind buy for the ones who want to buy this. Let's talk about the price for this perfume. Is the price worth it? HELL NO. The price point of this perfume is pretty ridiculous. 15ml for $50 in a crime. This is not great for an average consumer. However if you do like the perfume and you don't really care about the price, I recommend the full size bottle.

Not a bad perfume. But not one that strikes much in me. It’s pleasant. It would be a safe blind buy as it’s not an overwhelming gourmand. The spices really help keep it from feeling juvenile and I love that there’s no gross headache inducing aquatic note. I do like that the cacao and vanilla aren’t overpowering, but they’re very simple notes to me. It’s really creamy, woody, and delicate. It almost reminds me of a powder room inside of an old cabin. I can see this being a nice every day perfume. It’s non offensive. But it’s not very interesting or magnetic enough for me. Edit: the longer it sits the better. The notes blend really nicely together and it really is a great clean gourmand.

Water of Intuition is pleasant and very cozy in colder weather, like others have mentioned it's nothing groundbreaking but very inoffensive. I agree that the name and branding are a bit misleading, it wouldn't lead you to believe that you're about to smell a gourmand sandalwood/cacao/vanilla by any means... But the projection on this one is decent, a couple hours of lasting power. I like the touch of spice combined with the woods- it's on the sweeter side but not overly saccharine. It has a lactonic, almost cake-batter-like quality. Very similar to Eilish No. 1 and a bit like Akro Dark as others have called out.

So, this review is based of my first impression. I will update the reviews once I have trialled the fragrances for a full day. On first impressions this is my favourite of the 4. Water of Intuition gives me warm autumnal vibes. Not too heavy but also not a weak fragrance at all. When Melanie releases the 50ml bottles I will be very interested to see what they look like and so far out of the 4 I will 100% purchase the full size of this fragrance. This so far is a solid 7/10 for me

Bought whole set in the portals head. Love it!!!! This is fresh vanilla powdered cacao. Sweetness makes this feel feminine leaning but still on the universal spectrum. Easy to like. I was hoping for a little more on the niche side, smells designer. If you’re a Melanie Martinez fan just spring for the whole set to get the “head”. All the scents are easygoing and likable.

very interesting scent... I can smell the vanilla, sandalwood, and cacao, but it reminds me of cologne lol. kinda like cologne for women. it's probably my favorite out of all the scents because I don't really like the others, but it's still a nice scent!

🫧 i get a musky chocolate, milky vanilla when I wear this 🫧 the longevity is great but I'm not a big fan of milky scents 🫧 i got compliments when I wore this though! and the sillage is great! you can even smell it when heavy wind is blowing

This perfume reminds me so much of the new Billie Eilish perfume Your Turn. Does anyone else notice the similarity ?

I have a love-hate relationship with this perfume. The perfume itself is fine, I actually quite like it. I expected an aquatic, fresh, tropical scent, but the musky, powdery, sandlewood scent is very pleasant. I will say, when it dries down, it kinda smells like Febreeze but I like the smell of Febreeze so I won't complain. I'm sure we all saw it coming, I'm here to complain about the packaging. I got the singular ones because I refused to buy a temu version of Penhaligon. Even without the massive skibidi toilet statue, it still looks like a butt plug. I also don't like how they're cone shaped, because then you can't display the bottle very easily. Also, 0.50 fl. Oz for a tiny perfume?? That's the size of about 1 mini/travel size perfumes. The longevity and projection also isn't the best in the world. I'd say you could live without this in your collection.

A disclaimer: I am reviewing the MIIM.MIIC dupes for these perfumes. When I see a blue bottle, my brain does not think I'm gonna smell cocoa or amber. It is very vanilla chocolate milk with smooth sandalwood. I just think this could have been more innovative.

As of the name, “Water of Initiation”, you would expect this fragrance to be clean, fresh, and flows. There is nothing clean or fresh about this fragrance. I bought the Portal Parfums’s creature statue, which includes all four scents. But, there is also the option to buy the scents separately. It is $50 USD for barely any perfume. As of the scent, it is extremely musky, very heavy and overwhelming, almost like a cheap cologne. The vanilla makes the fragrance smell very artificial, the opposite of what the name indicates. However, the longevity is ETERNAL. The only way to get it off is by putting your clothes in the wash. It is more of a close to skin fragrance. The concept of the perfume had so much potential, the four elements of earth?? Wow. Melanie could have went so much farther with this, but upon inspection the bottle is made of cheap plastic, making it look like a children’s toy... I love you Melanie but no. Overall, for me this is a 3/10.

You have the right to find it creepy but she isn’t forced to adhere to your Christian values, you guys are so entitled and have a ridiculous persecution complex. I’m sure it smells heavenly (though I think I might be too poor to find out 🫣🥲). There’s likely going to be samples available since because of crybaby people are going to be paying attention to this perfume launch, and some of you are going to be making better profits than bitcoin regardless.

Everyone is complaining about the price. The actual full bottles will be significantly cheaper. As of right now they’re being sold as a collectors item. And it’s worth the price. The actual head that holds all four perfumes is large and heavy. This perfume in particular smells like a sweet tree. It first opens smelling almost like nothing, then after a few minutes the vanilla starts coming through. When you smell very closely it starts smelling like a tree scent, probably the cedar note.

water of intuition is a a creamy, lactonic, dark chocolate and vanilla-- nothing ground breaking. very similar to sweet tooth and eilish no 1. this isn't really important but this along with air of clarity confuses me a little. it would've made more sense if water of intuition was an aquatic type of fragrance, but that's just me lol. ranking this one in 3rd place out of the four.

Genuine review. No B.S. This scent is woody and musky trailed by cacao, amber and vanilla for a sensuous allure. It’s definitely unisex with the sweeter accords playing up and down and around the “masculine” notes. It is a comforting aquatic, musky, woody aroma that plays gently with that cacao and amber. Similar to Billie by Billie Eilish.

Very sensual soft and warm sandalwood with melted cocoa butter and vanilla+amber+cedar base. It’s similar to Santal 33 but no pickle-y cedar harshness. This is a much smoother and more comforting warm musk scent. Cocoa lovers would really love this. Chocolate and vanilla wafers in the background with an aquatic freshness as well

Refuse to even sample it for what she’s charging. Nope. And her excuse as to why she can’t bring back the strawberry milk is bs. Nope her and Beckham can suck a lemon

I really like that smell. It reminds me of the ocean, a cool and calming breeze. It's a mix of sweet and fresh, but very pleasant to smell. Recommend! :)

This smells like a more masculine fresh version of sweet tooth, it’s powdery and slighty sweet. If sweet tooth is too heavy/ sweet, give this a try!

Just a soapy, musky vanilla. It's not bad but it smells like a basic vanilla body oil from ulta.
