Gingerbread Whorehouse Perfume Oil

One of my favorite indie scents. The gingerbread is cake-like, not the dry cookie kind. This isn't pure ginger, and has a soft floral background that keeps it from being overly foodie.

Possets has been added to the database! I decided to test this one on Thanksgiving, lol! Now, I’d purposely let this one rest nearly a week after opening it upon arrival, because the scent out of the vial was pure cream cheese. Actually kind of off-putting. When it came time for me to actually test this, the scent coming out of the vial was still powerful, but a bit more vanilla than outright cream cheese. Given that a consistent theme with Possets seems to be blow-your-nose-off sweetness out of the vial and tempered complexity on skin, I went ahead and tested anyway. This is a lovely gingerbread. Other gingerbreads I’ve tried, from other houses, have often been too cloying for me to tolerate on my body. But this is a subdued gourmand – sophisticated, even. I wrote in an initial impression: “this ‘whorehouse’ (feel a little uncomfortable typing that sometimes) has a membership waitlist about a yard long and takes American Express, lol!” Longevity isn’t as impressive as some of the other fragrances, but this is still a good fragrance. Gingerbread for the gingerbread haters!

If you are looking for a realistic old-fashioned gingerbread scent you can find it here. Not too sweet but there is a denseness to it. I think this gingerbread recipe uses molasses instead of brown sugar. The dry down is lovely leaving a light spice trail. I’m going to layer this with other ginger perfumes that need a little more oomph. Great name BTW. I received 2 free samples not in database with my order! I don't get floral notes, but a rich, delicious gourmand with a definite gingerbread feel and some extra spices that make it more complex than just a foody fragrance oil. I adore this one, very comforting and lovely.
