Madame X Perfume Oil

The beeswax and effervescent "champagne" note add an interest factor that prevents this from being cloying, and the waxy musk notes shining through at the end make it a light vanilla comfort scent that has hints of my skin but better musky sexiness. My review here is lackluster compared to the absolute affection I have for this fragrance. Every time I wear it, I want to bathe in it. I want to order a vat of it so that I never run out. I get no buttery popcorn here at all, as others have mentioned. Furthermore, I should mention that my bottle has been resting a year or so - I really find that with oils from small houses such as Possets, resting allows various notes to meld in different ways, ultimately becoming more complex.

Buttery popcorn indeed! I was trying to pin that note down, thanks kastehelmi. It's honestly not bad, but it's nothing like what I was expecting from the notes. This is very buttery, very sweet, very creamy almost milky, and musky. Really nice in my opinion. 7/10

Straight away I smell the beeswax, there is the lemon zest in the background. This is a gourmand scent to me, but luckily for me the musk in the background prevents it from being too gourmand (not a big fan of gourmand scents) There is spiciness in the background and I'd also say the lemon tang. It is sort of sweet but to me mixed with a spiciness, there is another note that is quite loud in the background and I'm not sure what it is-maybe the champagne? This background note takes over after a while and to be honest ruins what started off as a pretty nice opening-skin chemistry I guess!

Madame X is creamy sweet gourmand, that isn't overwhelmingly sweet. It opens with a novel buttery popcorn note, but smells less buttery as time goes on. Appeals to my inner child who liked sweeter scents, especially since it has a fattier feeling than the typical gourmand which usually veers to extreme dessert territory, or a flat patchouli.
