Khamsin

A great narcissus! Khamsin is a floral fragrance that has some nods to the classic chypre. The earthy and mossy narcissus balances very well with the animalic hyrax. As other users suggested, this accord creates a leathery and tobacco feeling, and this slightly dark feature contrasts nicely with the citrus opening and the side decorations of the green and the floral. To be sure, this is not edgy, but it is unique. A modern interpretation on the retro. Very decent and delicate. Pragmatic-wise, I'd say it is unisex while its refined animalic has made it easy to wear. Khamsin is very nice and affordable (my 100ml costs me only less than $60.) It is surprising that Pour Toujours has been so overlooked. Gladly it seems still in operation (though have not released new work for years.) Khamsin makes me very interested in the other creations from the house. Some side notes & afterwords: 1. The note list here is incomplete. The official list is as follows: Italian Bergamot, Italian Lemon Narcissus, Jasmine, Rose, Oud Wood, Golden Stone, Saffron, Sandalwood. 2. Conceptually, the packaging is very nice. However, maybe because my batch is a little bit old, I have to complain about the quality control. The sponge, the inside 'wallpaper', and the internal plastic cap within the ceramic cap (yes, this one feels really nice), have all gone degummed. Though with the DIY spirit, it is easy to fix, I would hope it could come perfect, for this delicate packaging and excellent work!

Great floral-leathery fragrance, complex, wonderful oriental mixture full of intensely scented flowers with "dirty" sensual facets, with a twist of classic/retro French perfumery touch.

This is an indolic bomb blended with narcissus and jasmine with initial filed citrus, shades of moist tobacco, perhaps carnation and cloves before drying in a soapy, spicy, clean, pulled and polished vintage, with strong sandalwood and a European enameled oud that support the very long drydown. On my skin it lingers indefinitely, feminine with a soprano narcissus. The ending reminded me in part of Pierre de Lune, but with the hormones going crazy. Loud.
