Infusion de Santal Chai

I seriously love this. I’ve been searching for the perfect chai scent for years but everything has fallen short. I got a small decant of this to try, found myself wearing it every day, and had to size up within a week. First and foremost, sandalwood is the dominant note. It’s a beautiful sandalwood too, very natural smelling and oddly calming. It has none of those synthetic amberwoods which are being added to sandalwood fragrances now for some reason — thank goodness! When you first spray it, the sandalwood and cardamom combine, with a barely there trace of citrus to lift the composition. In this fragrance, the citrus is used as a sort of highlighter, providing contrast and outline for the other notes, rather than as a key player in itself. It’s quite cleverly done. The sandalwood runs like a thread through every stage of development on the skin, with the middle growing more chai-like. I can detect some natural spices (possibly ginger?) which slowly bloom after the initial hit of cardamom, intertwining with that first note until you have the best representation of a true chai that I’ve found in a perfume. Most don’t have the right complexity in the spice blend, or they’re very cinnamon heavy. Here, the effect really is of traditional chai — black tea included. It’s difficult to pick out individual spices as they’re blended so well. In the far dry down, I swear there’s a hint of vanilla. It could be the milky aspect of sandalwood or even the milk note itself, but whatever it is, it gradually becomes really creamy and soft. The sandalwood takes a tiny step back and you get a spiced milk effect — possibly with a dash of vanilla extract, but I definitely wouldn’t call it sweet. Surprisingly long lasting, I would say it’s worth it, despite the steep price. It’s just so well done, you’re paying for the craft here. Everything is perfectly balanced and feels very natural (I’m sure it contains many, many synthetic compounds but they’re clearly of the highest quality and nothing about this perfume feels synthetic at all). I currently have a 10ml decant but I’m going to have to get a full bottle (thankfully I have a birthday coming up in a few weeks!) This is an all-purpose scent; you could definitely wear this to the office if you didn’t overspray. While chai itself is quite an autumnal scent, Infusion de Santal Chai would work in all seasons. One surprising thing I found — the sandalwood here has an aromatherapy effect for me, it’s just very calming. I don’t remember experiencing this with a perfume before but it’s a very nice discovery! Other 2026 releases are going to have to go above and beyond to beat this as my favorite scent of the year for sure.

this is so perfect and life changing. somehow it possesses a lactonic image that isn't nauseating or used in a overtly gourmand way. it opens strong and woody (understandably polarizing) but hours in, its sweet and smooth with a spice that is so comforting, a deconstructed image of chai that is not painfully gourmand. great longevity on me as well! i have never smelled anything like this, how do i make this my signature fragrance year round. it is like true black milk tea, if you've ever tried hong kong style milk tea. sweet, slightly milky, and aromatic. yeah so this has me jumping for joy every time i experience the dry down again. sure the top is quite sharp and woody, but i feel like im the only one that loves this for the middle to base that much lol. but yes it is equal parts herbal/aromatic as it is sweet. another review says it pulls aromatherapy-like and i'd agree. i think it is blended beautifully, and is so long-lasting. the reviews saying it smells nothing like chai at all are shocking. to me it is straight up black tea, ginger, and peppery spices stored in a wood jar in a cellar. and sweetener on top. its like the essential components of true chai, and not lactonic cream/gourmand-forward if that is what you are looking for, which is why it pulls more unisex and borderline vintage with the infusion dna in this. would not expect a gourmand from prada infusions. i do think this would layer well with simple vanillic or cream components to pull the spice down. if only i knew what Bvlgari Omnia was like to compare, but wow i realllly love this! also this is nothing like glossier you soie

I love this perfume so much, I I've gone through two decants and now bought a full bottle. It's currently my go-to morning fragrance. It’s sophisticated, clean and warm and has this beautiful ability to be both invigorating and calming, creating a comforting bubble around me without ever feeling heavy. It's effortlessly elegant and incredibly easy to wear—one of those perfumes that just makes me feel comfortable being myself. The opening is a warm glowing citrus. For me, that warmth comes from the cardamom, although I don't necessarily smell cardamom as a distinct note. Instead, I smell the gentle warmth it brings to the composition. The chai accord, subtle spices and creamy milkiness sit quietly beneath that radiant citrus, creating a fragrance that feels smooth rather than spicy. As it develops, the sandalwood becomes beautifully creamy, but what surprises me most is that the warm citrus never really disappears. Its is a citrus-infused chai tea wrapped in silky sandalwood. It's comforting, refined and incredibly addictive. This is the first fragrance in a long time that's genuinely curbed my desire to keep buying perfume. After recently decluttering a large part of my collection, I've realised how much I value fragrances that make me feel at ease rather than those that I simply like. Prada Infusion de Santal does exactly that. It's beautifully composed, endlessly wearable and has become one of the cornerstones of my collection.

Wow, this is for everyone who loves Gris Charnel but can’t stand its chemical drydown or that heavy aroma-chemical aspect! This one is really nice—soft, sandalwood-y, and enveloping. It’s more suitable for winter, maybe daytime, yet it carries everything Gris Charnel offers—just lighter and more wearable. Yes, it’s short-lived, but honestly, I appreciate that in scents like this—unlike Gris Charnel or its extrait, where you might be stuck with it for days on clothes (maybe forever!). Big plus and big kudos to Prada for giving us this sandalwood gem!

Stunning fragrance. It’s addictive, really. It reminds me a bit of Alicia Keys Sage + Oat Milk EDP- a perfume I found at Marshall's which I absolutely love, but can't even find confirmation of it existing outside of the bottle in my hands. To me, the strongest notes in Infusion De Santal Chai are a stunningly aromatic cardamom, a spicy, warm masala Chai, and creamy, silky milk. The base notes are also beautifully done, more smooth, silkiness from the sandalwood and musk that smells like holding someone whose touch you crave, warm, sweet, skin.

I get an almost creamy fig quality from this. I’m one of those who often gets the dreaded pickle impression from sandalwood forward fragrances, but personally get none of that here. I find this to be completely unisex and quite chic. While probably not best suited for ultra high and humid temps, I don’t think it would be problematic in those environments. Overall I’m a fan and reach for it when I want that understated but luxurious feel, something Prada often does fairly well.

Well done, Prada ❤️ This has very spicy, almost cinnamon cola opening, then cardamom kicks in and after that most heavenly and creamy sandalwood. It has Infusion line dna, but its nowhere near soapy fragrance, it doesnt lack milky vibe but u wont get juvenile sugary milk, if thats what everyone expected. Longevity is quite good too. Unisex leaning bit more towards masculine, and I wouldn’t compare it to Gris Charnel at all, since that one goes into completely other direction.

I'm getting annoyed at all the negative reviews on Fragrantica from people who just expect gourmands from all new releases. Of course a Prada Infusion is never going to be a gourmand, the irisy-citrusy DNA is ever-present in this line. That being said, I'm not sure what overly sweet overly milky Starbucks concoctions y'all are used to calling 'chai,' but this is what a real masala chai smells like straight from the bag, without being drowned in milk or sugar.

What I got first was a creamy sandalwoodand and that distinct soapy quality of the Les Infusions line which I absolutely love. Four hours in and it turned into a slightly stronger Prada Candy on my skin - I don't mind that at all, I've been dreaming of a stronger Prada Candy for ages. Before trying it, I wanted to wait until winter to buy a full bottle but it performed beautifully in a humid 20 degree weather.

The sandalwood in this is dry, aromatic, and not even remotely pickley (thank goodness). The chai is more chai spice, predominantly cardamom. Don't look for anything sugary or milky here like a chai latte-- this is not even remotely a gourmand. There's something about it that is both warm and fresh. Completely unisex. I want to wear this in the fall.

I always thought I loved those fresh, citrusy scents, but recently I realized that this kind of perfumes is exactly my cup of tea (pun intended). This is warm, milky, spicy, soft, not too loud, cozy, and I just want to drown myself in it. Would wear it in a colder weather, but I think it can work all year around. Safe blind buy in my opinion.

Pretty citrusy and bright in the opening then develops into a warm, creamy chai tea. Not a sweetened chai latte, but the chai tea. Would call it 100% unisex and the perfect winter scent! Staying close to the skin and reveals only in motion. Subtle and sophisticated like the other in the Infusion line. Sits on skin at least 12+ hours.

Really lovely creamy, milky sandalwood that’s married perfectly with a chai latte but not really very sweet at all. Addictive. I’ve sampled many other fragrances with similar notes looking for this balance of warm, spicy, soft, cozy, and not too sweet and this is the first that ticks all the boxes.

This is like a mix between Bvlgari Omnia, Infusion d'Iris, and a hint of Gris Charnel, but the strongest similarity I detect is with Omnia. Like a spiced-up, more intense version of that one. It's nice, albeit VERY spicy, so be warned.

I had dreamed of a fragrance like this, but I thought it would remain only in my imagination. I’m very happy that someone actually went ahead and created it. Attention, lovers of sandalwood, spices and cozy scents. This is a true gem.

Did I need another woody skin scent? Absolutely not. Is it good? Yea, it is. This fragrance is spicy in the same way a flavored seltzer tastes like fruit. If you like woody scents, you’re going to like this one too.

A powdery, milky, spicy chai tea. Beautiful & comforting and very reminiscent of Being Frenshe’s Moon Milk (which I ADORE).

Does anyone know when this will be coming out? I can't wait to try it!

Received my bottle today and my first impressions after an hour of wear... The spices and citrus notes hit me full blast upon first spraying and i thought, oh no. That punch thankfully faded quickly. It has softened considerably. The spices have settled into a dusting and the scent has become more smooth overall. You get the chai and tea which are spicy and dry and there is a slight creaminess i get as well. The sandalwood is quite prominent to my nose so those who have a fussy relationship with it should definitely sample first. I am happy because this is the closest a fragrance I have tried has come to my most beloved Blvgari Omnia. It is nowhere near as smooth, cozy or alluring but it shares some similarities. This is truly unisex and a cooler weather fragrance in my opinion. It is currently 83 degrees here and i think that is not allowing this fragrance to be its best. I imagine this would layer wonderfully with a vanilla, white chocolate ect. and make it more friendly. So far it is a like. Will keep testing especially when a cold front moves back in.

Hm...I'm a little confused and conflicted about this perfume. On one hand - yes it smells very nice, soft and spicy - on the other hand it smells a bit dated and done. To me there's nothing new about this, infact it reminds me of so many other fragrances, and old traditional soap bar. Again, not bad, but I was (again) hoping for a much stronger milk note but yet again I'm disappointed. I'm starting to feel every brand is calling their perfumes "creamy" or "milky" - just to sell. Everyone's copying eachother and releasing gourmands and blablabla. It's all the same shit in the end. In this case, elegant shit nonetheless. It really reminds me of Francique 63.55 from French Avenue! But Prada being much softer.

I’m surprised people compare that to Gris charnel by bdk and not Santal Blush by Tom Ford. I do own both Gris Charnel and Santal Blush and it has nothing to do with Gris Charnel. To my nose this is very very similar to Santal blush by Tom ford (which I love). It has that same Sandal wood. The spices are also very similar. And I can swear there is Tuberose or Ylang in this one too. Has that same vintage makeup-y, woody, powdery vibe to it. It’s like the pencil shavings of a nice old lipstick liner. I get zero tea from this one.

This is a very nice skin-scent. Not super strong, but calming to the wearer. I must say this quickly becomes a clean musk scent without much else, so if you're looking for a minimalist cozy musk-driven scent this could be a good choice! :) But if you're looking for something intense and very chai forward, I would pass. If someone gifted this to me I would wear it for sure, but I prefer stronger florals too much to buy this myself.

I’m taking this sample for a road test today. Immediately heavy on the cardamom (which I love) and instantly reminiscent of Cardamom Moss by EPC with that soft and fresh spiciness. I’ve heard the lasting power isn’t great, in keeping with this infusion line which are known to be lighter wearing and daytime appropriate. On paper this scent profile is for me so I’ll see how it wears and develops on my skin.

Im totally new to the Prada infusions so this was a first for me. At first it smelled like bright tea scent and it developed into this spicy/clean scent which I didn’t know was possible. It’s very nice and can’t wait to try it on my skin and possibly wear it this fall.

Something shaving cream like about this on me, definitely not a bad thing and it makes sense with it being in the infusion line. Would be a good scent for professional settings, could see it being very versatile!

I love tea fragrances, and the chai note in this is really nice. Overall though, it leans too masculine for me on its own. For reference, my perfect unisex scent is Kilian Angel's Share, and this settles significantly more masculine on me. I don't pick up any of the citrus or milk notes. In fact this is more powdery, less lactonic, which was unexpected. Without picking up the milk note, this leans more fresh steeped spiced chai tea, and less chai latte. I think layered with a creamy vanilla I can make it work how I expected.

I expected much more from this one. While the opening is slightly warmer and spicier, the overall profile and especially the drydown felt surprisingly SAME to Infusion de Figue. Today Prada is losing some of its unique identity. Since L'Oréal took over their Beauty department, I find ALL new releases technically fine-made but increasingly too similar to one another, and other Loreal brands work under the same roof. I miss the creativity of the Olfactories era.

A woodsey citrus generic scent that lasts along time....it's well made and not offensive but smells nothing like chai at all. Zero gourmand scents ever become present. The title and notes listed above are misleading .Better to just get a blatant citrus scent as the chai notes never present themselves. Not safe for a blind by if you are a fan of gourmands you may be disappointed...get a small tester first and save money.

I was so excited to try this but all I really got was a milky sandalwood. This is a santal first designer perfume. Smells like something you could pick up at Zara. I was expecting a spicy, sweet, milky tea but I actually got a soft, pickled, woodsy scent with a slight lactonic creaminess. Barely has those unctuous chai flavours we are accustomed to. It’s also a skin scent and doesn’t last that long. 3-4 hours at best.

This is ok, not worth the hype in my opinion. Unfortunately I had to buy it because Sephora doesn't carry it in stores. I debated keeping it but I just don't see myself ever reaching for it, so I'll have to also return it. It is VERY similar to Dream by The Maker (which I already have and I also think that's fine, but also better).

It’s nice but it doesn’t smell like chai to me, I would’ve liked to smell something more creamy, warm, slightly sweet and spicy with a lasting note of sandalwood, but it was mainly sandalwood. I expected an photorealistic gourmand

Whew, so woody. I was expecting a spicy tea scent based on the perfume influencers who loved it, yet it’s a lot more woody and savoury than I expected. Not for me but it’s nice and I wouldn’t be upset to smell this on others!

This is classified as predominantly warm spicy but all I smell is the pickles in the opening and cant get over that. The name sounds like it should be something else entirely.

Infusion de Santal Chai opens as a creamy, milky‐woody comfort cloud, soft and serene in that unmistakable Infusion way. The sandalwood is pale, smooth and lightly spiced, giving the impression of warm milk infused with gentle chai dust rather than a full, sweet latte. It’s calming, minimalist, and quietly elegant - a warm beige cashmere wrap in scent form. The opening and mid are genuinely lovely: creamy sandalwood, soft spice, a whisper of tea steam. Everything feels smooth, milky and soothing, with that clean Prada translucency floating through it. I experienced no brine, no sourness, no tang in the first 30–60 minutes, but on my skin, the dry down shifts. As the creamy facets fade, the pale sandalwood reveals a tangy, slightly sour edge - the kind of woody‐lactonic sharpness that some people describe as pickle‐adjacent. It’s subtle, but once I notice it, I can’t un‐notice it. The comforting warmth of the opening gives way to a soft, slightly acidic milky-sour clean. On some people it's "spa water" but my skin chemistry doesn't hold this one in the creamy zone. It was always going to drift into sour‐milky‐wood, and that sandalwood sourness + milky acidity = pickle tang. Textbook for this fragrance on the wrong skin type. Longevity is moderate, projection soft - very much a skin‐scent in the Infusion style. A comforting opening and a serene mid, but the sour sandalwood dry down spoils it for me. Beautifully crafted, but ultimately not a match for my skin chemistry.

I am a huge lover of sandalwood, however, this turned very pickle juice to me. It’s not a creamy sandalwood. The chai makes it feel peppery and dry to my nose It’s a spicy dry, dusty sandalwood. The longevity was also not good.I much prefer others like piano santal or praline de santal

It doesn’t smell like chai at all...I can mainly smell the sandalwood, then some ginger in the dry down...disappointing

I wanted to like it so much, but it somehow smells like a handcream.

I already own two perfumes from Prada’s Infusion series: Iris and Gingembre. This new release, Infusion de Santal Chai, was one I had been waiting for, mainly because I really enjoy the creamy, milky-tea touch and find it very appealing. At the same time, I’ve been on the lookout for a lasting fragrance in this vein. Usually, milky-tea, aromatic openings tend to evolve into different tones after a while, so I haven’t quite found one that stays consistently true to that initial vibe. If there were a chai version that stayed linear, I would definitely buy it. For this perfume, the opening was nice and genuinely had that creamy, tea-like character. However, it reminded me a bit of some of Armani’s own fragrances. Also, since it’s part of the Infusion line and I already own Infusion iris, after a while I started to feel as if I was wearing the iris rather than a distinct chai version. As a result, it didn’t quite meet my expectations

Still searching for a worthy replacement for my beloved Bvlgari Omnia (& this alas is nothing like that - even after the notes sounded so promising. I had hoped to layer this with something Cinnamon + a smidgen of white chocolate but no. If anybody knows a Dupe House in UK which makes a copy of The Original & Stunningly Beautiful Bvlgari Omnia please let me know bc we cannot order perfumes from U.S & my only three remaining 65ml bottles I hoard like "My Precious" This is not bad bit it's not what I was expecting nor hoping for. A little too much citrus & more than a passing resemblance to (shock/horreur) "Indi" by Katy Perry. (Couldn't believe it.) Hope after maceration it is something more. Tbh I expect better from Prada & especially this line (not meaning to be negative.) I expected something Chai-like & something with layers.

Very accurate breakdown of notes listed above. It opens with an airy, spicy citrus (kind of characteristic of Habit Rouge, my go-to reference for spicy citrus opening accords) and soon turns into a really attractive chai latte scent. There is more dimension and sophistication to this chai accord than any other chai scent I’ve tried. It’s very dense and rich and expensive-smelling and makes others seem like a sketch in only two or three colors. My only issue is that it doesn’t project so it’s a perfume to enjoy with your wrist held up to face level. I don’t sense much from even arm’s length. Thankfully, they used a very mild skin musk as the base structure so when the chai fades after a few hours, you’re only left with a quiet milky musk, nothing stonking or offensive. I like it. 4 out of 5.

Prada Infusion de Santal Chai was something I really anticipated. The smell is lovely. Not so milky to me but more so like chai spices specifically cardamom and nutmeg, freshened with bergamot and that clean Infusion powdery musk. A nice calm sandalwood creeps in as it settles. I actually really like it. It's unisex not leaning anyway to me. Very light and diffused. Fresh and not overwhelmingly spicy, but it is way too intimate. Also doesn't last past 3 hours on me, in the sense I no longer smell it unless I sniff my skin directly. It's not in the air when I'm still or with wafts when moving. Only offering a 100 mL does make sense because you will run through this, but not at 190 USD. I like the fresh lightness, but if that's the vision, it should be priced lower at its worth.

the perfect chai scent for someone who enjoys the subtleties of it. It’s like the idea of chai perfectly executed, the fantasy of it, considering this is a fairly demure take on it, but a well done one nonetheless. It’s bright citrus, a bit aromatic, blended with warmly spiced chai with a hint of creaminess to mimic a chai latte. Surprisingly there’s no iris listed here but it smells reminiscent of the creamy flower petals in the warm cup of chai, with a base of richly powdery and creamy sandalwood. I’ve smelled a lot of chai scents but none of them ever strike the right balance of spice, sweetness, and woodiness, and this one does it. If you want one that fully commits to the rich bit of chai, this lacks that grit, but it’s a really romantic take on the scent profile I adore.

A spicy aromatic fragrance with a supportive layer of milky cream. It reminds me of golden milk - the drink made with milk, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon. It's the olfactory equivalent of that taste. Overall it's warm, comforting, and enveloping, suited for autumn and winter. The sandalwood is detectable, but it's not a wood-dominant fragrance, so keep that in mind if you're expecting a classic sandalwood based on the name. Instead, the wood serves as a foundation beneath the spices and creamy facets. There is a subtle oriental aura running through the fragrance that gives additional layer of warmth and depth without becoming heavy. Projection is intimate, scent sits closer to the skin, more of a personal comfort scent than a statement fragrance.

Infusion de Santal Chai is a solid like for me, but not a love. I was honestly hoping for a larger dose of chai or more creaminess even. The creamy or lactonic aspect here is very minimal. If anything, I found it to be more soapy to powdery. The spirit of Prada's original Infusion d'Iris is still very much present here, but drifts into slightly different territory. I found the sandalwood to be a more prominent note than the chai spices. The longevity is about average and while this fragrance is very pleasant, I was strongly reminded of Santal Carmin (vintage) by Atelier, only less creamy and lacking the saffron note. Full bottle worthy? Sure, if you don't already own a fragrance with this scent profile.

I tried a sample of this and it is very woody, but also, to me it smells very herbal/medicinal. Like if you were to walk into a new herbal tea shop made out of wood. Not spicy, just woody. It definitely gets more creamy after the citrus in the top notes disappears. It reminds me of a little tea shop I visited in Salzburg called TEA & Co. Now that I've been let the fragrance sit on my skin for a few minutes, it's really pretty. I have a cup of herbal blend tea while I'm snuggled up in a musk blanket in a sandalwood cabin buried in the deep woods. Pretty, not spicy.

This was a skin chemistry fail for me. It starts out gorgeous. It's warm, softly spicy, creamy and woody. Chai is definitely the right name for it. It smells classy, elegant and expensive. But unfortunately some woods and musks have some sort of reaction to my skin that super charges them and makes them unbearable. In this case it's the sandalwood that's trying to kill me to death. Such a shame because I love the smell of the sandalwood in this before it goes nuclear on me.

I’m glad I bought a travel size to try and not a full bottle because I already own an exact clone of this product. Smokeshow by Sunday Forever has the same milky, musky feel to it as Prada Infusion de Santal Chai. To me, this wears heavy and I would only consider wearing this fragrance in the fall/winter while bundled up in a pile of blankets. It’s also a lost sister to BR540- that muskiness makes it a memorable fragrance but it can be overpowering to some.
