Infusion d'Ylang

Just when I thought I bought all the outstanding ylang ylang scents available on market with the acquisition of Capeline by YSL, turns out I didn’t knew about Infusion d’Ylang by Prada! I never hear anyone talking about this line from Prada, it’s all about Paradoxe nowadays... But, after trying it on a whim, in a airport, I have to say that it is absolutely beautiful. Bright, airy and sunny like what I want my perfumes to be during warm, sunny, summer days. It’s a slightly spicy, powdery, citrusy, but dominantly sweet ylang ylang perfume that has a very smooth, creamy, woody base consisting of sandalwood. Masterfully balanced so no note feels overpowering. Just the right amount of everything... I had no idea that cardamom goes so well, hand in hand with such a tropical flower like ylang ylang but the result is incredibly delicious. This is a sweet, banana like ylang ylang scent, exactly how I want my scents to be. And unsurprisingly, it goes straight to my to buy list... Performance on this line doesn’t seem to be impressive, they’re mostly on the moderate side of longevity with a intimate sillage, but the way the perfumes smell for as long as it lasts is just breathtakingly beautiful! Edit July 2024: I found a good sale and got myself a bottle. I am so happy to get it right on time for summer. Edit June 2025: Wearing this for a couple of days in a row made me realise that it’s not as subtle as I initially thought, because when sprayed on clothing, I could smell it even next day. So, it’s definitely long lasting, without being heavy, but doesn’t project massively!

Another Infusion from Daniela Andrier for Prada. I really like what this lady does, so it was not a surprise that she had nothing to do with Paradoxe, the moneymaker. This Infusion is faithful to the classic and distinguished spirit of the Infusions even if it's tropical and maybe even beachy. Ylang is cool, creamy, unripe banana yellow and green, delicately spiced with persistent and addictive drydown. It shares similar impression of effervescent cleanness on my skin and clothes with Infusion d'Iris Cèdre, that I love and use with abandon. It is equaly comfortable and elegant but with sunny exotic twist. I find it joy to wear all year. Update... I feel its unobtrusive presence all day long, so I'm glad I really enjoy wearing it. It's November and just the beginning of everything damp, gray and depressing. I find its presence very comforting. Most of the beachy perfumes feel out of place, unappropriate. This Ylang always feels right, maybe because of its simplicity or because its exotic caracter is not that explicit or first degree. It's just so artfully done.

I was once under a ylang-ylang tree with its plentiful blooms while visiting my father in Florida a number of years ago. What a gladdening experience, so sunny, luscious, egg-custard sweet, meringue textured to the nose, creamy and muggy bliss. The essential oil expressed from the flowers of Cananga odorata is one of the closest approximations to its flower that any plant produces, but the actual flowers transcend it. I am surprised to find that Infusion d'Ylang comes closest to the experience—not overly ornamented and gussied up with vanilla and coconut and so forth. It's just lifted with a bit of citrus, shaded with a bit of cardamom, and moored with sandalwood. It is light in feel yet full-on carries the body of the flowers. True, it may evoke summer holiday beachside languor for some, but it can surely take an imaginative wearer to whatever vibrant, sunlit place they choose.

This is a friends signature scent and she offered for me to wear some when I was out of my usual perfume. It's so funny wearing a perfume that you so strongly associate with another person, it doesn't feel like me and it feels wrong. But I deeply enjoy this scent on her and suits her so much. I agree with the other comments about a beach vibe- I would say imagine you have arrived at a really luxurious beach resort somewhere tropical, it's still early in the morning but the sun is beating down and you are waiting with your suitcases in the lobby to check in. That is precisely the feeling it gives me. It's clean, it's gentle, it's sunny bright and uplifting, but still put together and self assured.

The opening notes are: Mediterranean, citrus, lively, refreshing, bergamot in its maximum expression, combined with the lively and spicy notes of oriental cardamom, which magically blend with the exotic and bright notes of ylang ylang, creating a blend radiant that celebrates the beautiful season. This sweet, exotic floral symphony rests on an enveloping and reassuring, woody base created by the seductive and magical sandalwood. This fragrance reminds me a lot of Femme di Rochas created in 1960 by Guy Robert, it will be the presence of Ylang Ylang, bergamot and sandalwood. Persistent fragrance for Ylang Ylang lovers.

at first I just founded this parfume when I want to buy another one and suddenly my eyes got into this yellow! I try first and I was feel like "ok" sweet fresh beachy scent and then I wore this parfume go to gym do exercise for 1 - 2 hours and IT'S TURNS OUT EVEN MORE THAN AMAZING FRAGRANT I swore it's like more had good when it's swelling on my skin and also it's mixed well with my sweat tho LOL but yeah it's good and worth to try if you want to had a sweet summer or if you looking for a parfume for ur sporty activity I would recommend u this one beside Prada Luna Rossa Sport ^^

I just finished a 10 mL pen spray of this and it’s a definite love from me. It really is similar to Beach Walk. I wore them both side by side more than once. Infusion d’ylang is more spicy and perfume-y in the opening (I think it’s the “cardamom”), whereas Beach Walk is more of that linear, monoï oil thing from start to finish. For me the winner is Beach Walk because linear sunscreen scents are more my jam. It is very light; I don’t think anyone ever smelled it on me. But that’s okay with me. If Beach Walk didn’t exist, I would get a full bottle of this for sure.

Very pretty, and with some depth. Pearly and opalescent. Slightly salty. Watery and creamy - somewhere between coconut water and coconut milk in texture. There is a sandalwood vibe in the base, which further lends to the general "vacation" vibe of this fragrance. My sample from Prada emphasizes benzoin in the base, a note which I love. I would also guess at iris in the composition. Cardamom elevates the fragrance beyond being "just" a beach scent, and also makes it plausibly unisex. 4/5

Somebody compared this to ginger cookies & I agree, very strong yellow florals at the opening fading into what is faintly reminiscent of spicey ginger cookies (maybe the cardamom?). Although I don't think this is a gourmand so to speak. Long lasting, can still smell it on my clothes a couple of days later, no wild projection though. Definitely summer holiday vibes, but rather than being beachy, it reminds me of the aroma in the hotel lobby of a fancy 5star hotel. It's a yes from me.

Beautiful ylang fragrence! Right a way you get some of the spicy aspect of the cardamom mixed in with the bergamot. Then the ylang shows up amd shower us with her beauty. Its well blended with the sandalwood snd creates a cramy amooth sunny base. Very summery lesning but could definelety be worn througout the year. High quality and ladt decent amount of the day. Lovely! Recommend for anyone who likes ylang and "yellow" scents. I find it unisex maybe a bit feminine leaning.

As a whole, I enjoy the Prada Infusions...they are clean, understated, and elegant. Infusion d'Ylang is no exception. Even though, ylang ylang is often hit-or-miss for me, I find this one especially pretty. This is bright, fresh, and creamy. It reminds of a nice, breezy day outdoors. I feel good when I wear this...I really like the whiffs you get of this throughout the day, it puts a little pep in my step. Good stuff.

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance! It smells like sunshine in a bottle! 🌞 The moment it touches my skin I feel so happy and positive. I wish I could take a shower in this scent. Les infusions are amazing, clean and yet they don’t smell like mosquito repellent on the skin like other green scents .

Tested this parfume today omg it's so unique and beautifuly soft, I can definitely smell here tuberose, very airy and unique scent, smells like you are just out of shower, very fresh

This smells like a less overwhelming Orange Blossom (Jo Malone) to me. I really like this. It makes me feel like a sophisticated southern woman on a Sunday.

Layer Infusion d'Ylang with M. Micallef Ylang in Gold... You won't regret it. You're welcome! 😉

This is finally starting to open up after it's journey to my perfume shelves. So far, I'm really liking what I smell. It's almost a pure ylang soliflore for me. However, both the sandalwood and the cardamom fill it out, providing a bit more depth than I'm used to in the majority of Infusions I own and have sampled. Someone below asked who the creator of this fragrance is, and I believe it's Daniela Roche Andrier. She is the creator of most, if not all, of the Infusions. She is often referred to as "the queen of iris" so it surprises me that she hasn't worked any into the composition. I don't find this to be similar to Beach Walk at all. The coconut in BW makes a big difference. If anything, it reminds me of a lighter and airier Samsara EDP, likely due to the ylang and sandalwood combo. However, it remains more of a beach scent. Perhaps that is why there are comparisons. Longevity and silage aren't great, but sobfar they are more pronounced that others in the line, with the possible exception of the mimosa version. All in all, it's a welcome addition to my collection of Infusions. I plan on experimenting with layering, though it will require something that will enhance the fragrance without blocking it out.

Like Prada's Infusions in general, Infusion d'Ylang is a simple, lightweight composition. Ylang ylang is a smooth, sweetly tropical yellow floral that can potentially become cloying or overpowering in perfume (though I enjoy it). However, Infusion d'Ylang is more woody than floral, with the ylang ylang note more muted and less sweet than is typical. IY opens with a sweet but soft ylang ylang note, more powdery and dry than creamy and lush. The spicy cardamom is quite prominent, and complements it beautifully - an inspired addition. As it develops, the soft woody notes creep in, tying it all together beautifully. The spices fade back, giving way to a sweet woody-floral drydown, powdery until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is feminine-leaning in my opinion, best worn in spring/summer. A wonderfully soft, refined take on a tropical floral scent, IY is a subtle, unusual take on ylang ylang. Much to admire here. 4/5.

Ylang's Philosykos. Simple yet satisfying. Apparently the scent of a ylang-ylang tree blooming in Florida. And indeed it does contain a sunny air aura and a tropical beachy floral aspect together with woodiness. Cardamon and bergamot are barely there. The main star is the tropical ylang in a woody aspect. Lovely and mood enhancing. Indeed similar to Beach Walk which is also sheer but present like Infusion D'Ylang. Bought under the influence of Fragrantica's article on the best ylang scents and it does deliver special effects. Joyous, sheer scent, perfect for everyday wear. Should do well also in the evenings or in colder weather as a private sunshine bubble. Universal occasion-wise. 3 hours in and it is very bright and woody. 8 hours in and I still feel it clearly, it is even woodier but still sunny and positive. Lasts easily 12 hours despite being sheer.

The Ylang-ylang note in this fragrance is there for 2 minutes - you almost need to chase it. I grew up around this flower and Prada hit the top note on this one BUT only for that hot minute (or two). I love the color scheme despite Ylang-ylang is more of a deeper warm yellow in real life. Compared to my favorite Ylang-ylang fragrance from Diptyque (Eau Moheli), Infusion D’Ylang is coming in second. I purchased this bottle mainly because I love Ylang-ylang as it reminds me of my late grandfather who brought me fresh flowers from the tree when I was young. Again, the memories do come and if only they lasted longer. Wear it during the day, spring, summer. OK for teenagers and for the office! I will be OK wearing this to class (as a teacher). 🌼

I’m reading that lots of people get beachy, summery vibes from her but this is spring in a bottle to me!! Don’t get me wrong I can definitely see summer vibes too. The cardamom blends beautifully with the Ylang Ylang- it properly enhances it without being overpowering. I couldn’t help but notice it’s a bit (for lack of a better word?) “perfumey” and smells like when you first step into the fragrance section of a department store upon opening but once you let her breathe for a little bit she grows out of that very quickly. It turned me off for a brief second when I noticed it, I figured I’d mention. I still love her though!!

Opens with a thick ylang-ylang, and for a second it almost had me fooled. As if I would get the ylang-ylang that’s present in the opening of Chabaud Vintage with the soapy/powdery drydown of Prada’s Infusion line. But no! Boy, was I fooled. As soon as it dried down it turned into an exotic beach-type of ylang-ylang scent. I got hints of coconut and salty skin. Floral and exotic. It’s actually a great perfume if you like salty exotic florals like Masque Milano’s Dolceacqua or Le Couvent’s Aqua Mahana. Infusion d’Ylang definitely has resemblance to both. And perfomance does match the price. It’s not my vibe though.

I got a decant of this for the purpose of smelling ylang ylang, which reminds me of the air freshener spray my grandmother used to use. It didn't disappoint, one sniff and it sent me back to my childhood. Beautiful ylang ylang that isn't overpowering and is mixed very well with the bergamot, the cardamom isn't as spicy. I won't buy a full bottle but I will keep this decant for nostalgia purposes.

Oh wow, I absolutely loved this fragrance after spraying it for the first time! The ylang-ylang note was so creamy and gorgeous, I was immediately transported to a tropical country. However, after one hour, the ylang-ylang note had faded away and all I was left with was a mediocre powdery muskiness. It would be a love for me if the ylang-ylang stayed throughout the drydown.

Beautiful pure ylang-ylang scent of a high quality! 💛💛💛 Creamy, yellow, realistic, ylang-ylang. I smelled it at the airport. I must test it again though, to make sure I don't get any sandalwood, as it reads as BO to my nose. I think I haven't detected it, but I didn't have the time to wait for the dry down. From memory: 8.5/10

I like this. Similar to Jo Malone Frangipani Flower Cologne. I love very subdued delicate citrus florals but the cardamom lingers here. Ylang eventually loses it's waxy projection and sandalwood adds a creamy salty base. It doesn't come off as a cleaner or wash. But I imagine someone much older wouldn't care for it.

what a lovely surprise. the citrusy and luminous opening by the bergamot, gently zested, which introduces a green and fruity accord reminiscent of banana and jasmine to the velvety sandalwood and the musky veil of the base. Exotic and enveloping, but all transparent, like a fragrant breeze from far away.

In 37°C it is very woody, with tropical and spicy touch but I dont like it as much as on our first day, let alone love it now. And it projects for 1/2 hour then is turning into skin scent. So it is not a summery scent for me despite its exotic profile. Disappointed today.

It has a simple, delicate and lightweight composition. I don’t find it very performant, it has a moderate sillage and longevity but still a very pleasant smell on the skin. It’s a sunny spring day with freshly blooming flowers in a bottle.

This is super pretty and will be perfect for the summer. I just received this and got it for $50, so I definitely feel it is worth it. & yes, the longevity is actually very good. Beautiful

Very nice summer flanker, feminine leaning and creamy

In the beginning I can smell the bergamot and something floral, but after a few minutes it becomes a very Cardamom prominent scent with a light floral note. The Cardamom is not piercing and goes well the floral note which turns into some soapy note on my skin. It reminds me of a shaving soap for men, without being too masculine. Summarised, a soapy, fresh scent which is nothing too special and other than emptying the sample nothing I'd consider wearing.

At first, this has a very nice ylang ylang note. It fades pretty fast, however, and then what is left is mostly a salty sea water note. I'm personally pretty tired of this note - I have my Lilly Pulitzer Beachy, and that's enough for me. If you love sea water fragrances, this could be a good one, just beware that the ylang is fleeting. From me, it gets a "meh" vote.

This perfume reminds me of a highly air conditioned, ritzy boutique in Waikiki Beach. Linen jumpsuit and sun tan lotion on, in your hair is a tropical flower with a yellow center and creamy white petals. This fragrance would complete the look, although its not the look I'm going for.

This is by no means any 'beachy' perfume. It's clearly citrus and ylang ylang with some effort.. The latter one does not last and that's disappointing- the perfume itself has weak longevity. It's a discreet fragrance to wear in an office or as a skin scent.

This should be tried before buying. I made the mistake of buying a travel sprayer of this blind and on me it was all base notes, wearing very woody. Whereas, on my sister it was a beautiful, airy floral of delicate ylang blossoms. It appears those who say skin chemistry makes a difference are correct, at least in my case. That's too bad. I was hoping it would be similar to the beautiful Chloe Ylang Cananga, as this is somewhat cheaper on the grey market compared to that. Oh well, looks like I'll be buying the Chloe after all. I've since given the travel sprayer to my sister since it wears better on her than me.

I was sure I was going to love this, thinking it would be similar to Infusion de Vanille having sniffed them both. It isn’t. It is “solar.” I do not for sure know what “solar” is but I have disliked it in every fragrance so far regardless of what flower is solarized. That’s me. Otherwise, this is light, sunny without coconut or salty-beachy feel. It’s adult. I just wish I liked it.

A soft beachy ylang ylang on top of a citrusy cologne that is a bit piercing. This scent annoys me.

My God, I really wanted to love it, but this fragrance just doesn't work on my skin. I only got major bergamot and aquatic notes that my skin hates. Just like Acqua di Gioia, it smelled dirty on me. Sad.

A yellow floral perfection in a pure form. A simple composition that allows ylang-ylang to showcase its brightest facets. I love yellow florals - simple ones, complex ones, all of them. In my opinion, this isn't woody at all. Just because there is sandalwood in the base notes doesn't make a fragrance woody. Here it plays a purely supportive role. What I get is a light, bright floral scent that is uplifting, warm, and full of sunlight. The beachy, summery associations may come from comparisons to Beach Walk, which also features a prominent ylang-ylang heart, and does carry similarities. I do see this as a summer fragrance, but Prada feels much more distilled. It's essentially a solo performance by ylang-ylang, without other notes competing for attention. I also don't find it powdery. I think many people confuse the warmth of yellow florals with creamy powderiness, but I don't perceive that here at all. Nor would I call it exotic. This isn't a tropical beach fragrance; it evokes the heat and light of Southern Europe instead. Very beautiful, very elegant, and classy.

sooooo much like soleil blanc but remains citrussy; its as if SB was missing some of the warmer creamy base notes which give it more depth and density. id say sb is more sophisticated, sultry with more sex appeal and this is a more laid back version of it- still sophisticated but more casual and everyday. not as potent as sb but not light/weak whatsoever, the citrus sticks, it lasts 16 hours on me. wearing this around the house/post shower makes me feel put together and sexy in an effortless way, like i think this should be my default home scent. id wear this to the pool/beach with minimal makeup. sb would be dressed up boujee summer day, thats always how ive worn sb, it couldnt be anything less..this also reminds me of a jo malone scent but dont remember the name

Smelled during a Sephora sniffing binge and really liked it. Smells sweet and innocent and kind of milky/powdery. I finally got a travel size and love it. I think ylang is one of my favorite notes. I love the banana-esque and slight creamy/powdery facets to it. It is on the lighter side but I'm hoping some maceration will change that bc it's so nice up close. If I had to compare it to another perfume it would be a verryyyy watered down Love Tuberose by Amouage. That one can get sickly on me. This is way less in your face and the pinch of cardamom makes it so cozy.

where do I even begin this fragrance is everythingggg!!!! as you can tell from the name the ylang ylang is the star of the show but right at the top you get this initial burst of cardamom and it’s just sooo right!! I’m not really sure how to describe this but, without being a solar scent, this fragrance smells like sunshine. Just wearing it makes me feel so happy and beautiful! Definitely suits warm sunny weather best, but I’ve worn it on a night out the scent is just such a confidence booster that I think it was perfect for the occasion

Infusion d'Ylang is a creamy, beachy scent not at all unlike Maison Martin Margiela's Beach Walk. I really enjoy beachy scents and this is really nice. I own Beach Walk though, and Vanille Ylang by Guerlain, and this is so close in smell that I don't feel the need to purchase this, but I'll enjoy my samples. Most of my scents with Ylang remind me of big hats, big sunglasses and cute sundresses along a sun-drenched coast somewhere in the tropics. Definitely worth a try if you want to dip your toe into beachy scents.

When I think of ylang-ylang, I think of MFK APOM Femme - now, that’s some mighty flower! That fragrance has sadly been discontinued, before I managed to invest in a full bottle, and now I’m looking for something that can come close to APOM. Unfortunately, Infusion d’Ylang is not even close. To use a visual metaphor: whereas APOM is a HD photo that captures a myriad of perfect details, Infusion d’Ylang is a pale watercolour painting. Pretty, but not striking enough, and ultimately forgettable.

This smells exactly like Soleil Blanc without the coconut note! I think it’s lovely and a perfect summer scent so it’s kind of weird they’d release it at the tail end of summer. It has a powdery dry down that’s more apparent on some people more than others. I like it. Not a love, and probably something I’d wear layered rather than by itself, but it’s a good perfume all the same. The bottle (like all the bottles in this line in general) is gorgeous and so simple and classy.

The opening is mostly a slightly aquatic feeling ylang ylang - I personally can't pick up much on the bergamot or cardamom on my skin. As it dries down, it becomes softer, almost blurry, and the sandalwood comes out more - I feel like I also get a vanilla or tonka note, but maybe that's just my imagination. I like it, it's very pretty and sensual, but it's mainly a skin scent with only a couple of hours of longevity on my skin and that doesn't justify a purchase for me.

Tried Ylang and loved it! I want to make this mine very soon! Opens heavenly fresh and a tiny bit spicy,then I feel the Ylang together with sandalwood giving off a wonderful and elegant creaminess . I made sure to spray a good three spritzes on my forearm so that I could make out exactly how longevity was. It lasted about eight hours which is great but sillage was moderate.Anyway it's beautiful

Tried this on at a Sephora and cannot stop smelling my wrist since. It smells identical enough as Beach Walk to me so I won't buy this, but I can't lie and say a part of me doesn't regret buying Beach Walk instead of this, as d'Ylang seems to be longer lasting. Perfect summer fragrance for when I want to give an essence of sweetness without a vanilla's cloyingness.
