I've gotten some amazing compliments wearing this. There's sort of a liquorish vibe (I think from the juniper) that makes it a bit too strong at first, but it settles into something amazing. Plus it maintains good projection for a good length of time, although I've read others complain about performance. But on me... Longevity: I get 8 hours on skin, an eternity on clothes, and 3 hours of respectable projection. Projection: An hour after applying, I got an orgasmic "OMG WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?!" Compliment from a girl who was quite far away from me... 2 arm lengths, perhaps. That said, I don't feel like it's beasty, and this might be one of those scents that comes and goes in that department. Sillage: you'll leave a trail for a few hours This isn't an easy scent to describe. "BLACK PEPPER" does not sufficiently describe the spice involved here. The best way I can say it is: sexy chai tea latte. Seriously, go to Starbucks and get a chai latte, take some whiffs, and then add a dose of sexiness (that amber, with that slight tinge of liquorish that I mentioned before). It's a very nocturnal scent that can be pulled off in the daytime during the dark cold months. It sways masculine to my nose, but women should certainly check it out too. As a man, I'd have no complaints about my girl smelling like a sexy chai latte. This was a great blind buy for me, but I'd definitely recommend sampling first. There's many complaints about performance, and not everyone is going to like this spice blend. On the wrong skin this could turn into a B.O. type thing very easily.

So damn dark, it creates an aura of lived-in things! I once had Amber pour Homme, which has a special sweetish-clean-powdery appeal, long lasting and great sillage. And then, while ago I came across this one, I immediately liked it and decided to buy. Despite it is supposed to be a flanker, though it is actually diverse from the original Luna Rossa. Some notes are alike, but the scent smell different and... It is moderate, not extreme at all! I have the EDP, family is oriental-spicy, and at the very first spray I recognise a nice fresh peppery with a bit of clove, kind of liquorice, a flash of bergamot, and something similar to a spicy cake. it is creepy dark, but fascinating. I guess the contribute comes from the pepper and lavender mixed together in the top notes. Well, it is incredible how it varies in the first hour on the skin. Thanks to amber & vanilla in a tobacco style, the mix makes it seductive. If the initial accord is warm, rich, sweet-dry, woody, and leathery, in the long term it changes to animalic and powdery, a good one not like baby powder, which creates an aura of lived-in things. The EDP projection is above average, and it even has a good longevity, about 8-10 hours and more. I wore it last night and the day after a can smell it on the clothes. In my opinion, it is elegant, manly, with a lot of masculinity for the entire last, and as I said with dark and fresh tinges. A fairly casual scent, better for evening and night out, during cold weather such as fall and winter. P.S. I get lots of compliments when I have that on.

Perhaps I'm less critical towards contemporary scents geared towards men (after all, they are all turning unisex, while modern women's scents are turning childish), but for me all three LRs I smelled so far are winners. Extreme is very different than the original Luna Rossa or the Sport edition, I was surprised that a flanker can be this different, but perhaps they wanted a versatile collection which makes fans buy all versions as they cannot be replacements for each other. Well, Sport fresh and closer to the original, but Extreme is dark, spicy and deep. I get a very similar feeling that I get with Le Male: smooth, dark grey smoke. A confidence booster for both genders. It is hard for me to associate it with sailing, sea and summer, but I have yet to see what it is like in warm time. None of these are too unique or groundbreaking, but very wearable and, for me, more than simply pleasant. The bottles of this line also express what you can expect when spraying. LRE also reminds me to the relatively unknown and quite interesting Zirh Ikon, their openings seem similar. Even their bottles share some similarity. Later on Ikon turns into a disappointingly weak and short-lived incense base which I was looking forward to so much but it lasts around five minutes (and this is the older version, with the magnetic cap! I don't want to know how the reformulation performs, however it does smell great anyway), close to skin, while Extreme chooses another direction. I like it more and more.

Luna Rossa Extreme Prada deviates away from your Usual PLR Dna. This isn't anything close to the og or most of its flankers. This is a Spicy Smoky Ambery Leatherish Scent. Rich and warm and has depth. You'll probably also get a prominent lavender and some powderyness which some may link it to PLRB but PLRB is very different. The Scent and it's profile is actually pretty good. If I am to think of another designer that has similarities to this it's Bvlgari Men in Black, vibes of it, like a younger brother of it without the tobacco and more Ambery. This is also got the spicy lovers, especially given the heavy peppery opening with support by the vanilla. Some of you might feel there's also incense in this but it's the labdanum and amber. This has been discontinued by Prada and it's probably not easy hunting for a bottle now and it's not cheap now at about 300-400 Usd a bottle. Perhaps Prada can consider bringing this back under a Elixir flanker lol because it does smells like a more classy mature PLR flanker which has the richness warmness and depth most Elixir releases come to be. To be fair, this is quite a discontinued gem. Appreciated by those who knows.

This really was the biggest sleeper in Prada's line. What a fantastic scent. Such as shame it's gotten hard to find and more expensive. Extreme opens up with a rich, spicy blast of pepper, while the trademark lavender of the Luna Rossa series and amber add a smoother velvety subtone. After an hour or two the pepper is settled down a bit and the amber and vanilla come to the fore, with the lavender remaining ever present. It's a perfect autumn scent. Reminds me distantly of chai spice, without being gourmand (this isn't very sweet). I find it best suited for those intermediate, cool-but-not-cold temperatures. Lasting power is excellent with really good projection. I generally just wear fragrances for myself. But if you're keen about getting positive attention from the opposite sex, I have to say, this one elicits those most ridiculous reactions from women. They honestly act downright weird around me when I'm wearing this. That said, and while I think it smells quite masculine, Luna Rossa Extreme would be just as well suited on a woman.

I've been craving for this one since a few months ago, and luckily, I found a seller that still had this one (last stock, tester bottle). So, I blind bought thie one for around $52 (converted). And I'm glad I did that, since this is probably one of my best blind buys this year. The top note is very harsh though. Some noses (and especially those who haven't got used to this type of scent) are going to hate it so much. It is really spicy because of the black pepper. But, once it settles down (for about 5 to 10 minutes or so), it turns into this pleasant scent with the very same black pepper, but balanced by lavender, vanilla, and amber. It has a very unique scent, especially for today's standards, even though I can see the similarities between this one to Spicebomb, Luna Rossa Black, Le Male, etc. The blend just made this one so unique and very high quality to me. The performance is good too, but I have to test more with full wears. Shame that they discontinued it. Such a great fragrance.

So I received a sample of this fragrance about a year ago, and when I sprayed it on my wrist, I wasn't impressed whatsoever...just another peppery lavender subtle scent and that was about it. Then a year later, I had a full wearing of the sample just for the heck of it...and I just could not stop smelling my wrist and wondering how on earth have I overlooked this one! It drove me crazy! Two weeks later I found it at a bargain price in my country and I just had to catch this one. It baffles me how would a strange description like "clean pepper scent" just keeps popping into my head, granted, this is not a masterpiece or anything, but definitely a hidden gem amongst the Prada fragrance line. A strong lavender opening with a peppery-juniper heart with a slight hint of amber, and a nice labdanum note that engulfs the whole scent, giving it quite the depth. A chic casual (or smart casual) scent for the colder days and nights...can even work in a cool spring night, just like today.

Superb! I’m fortunate that almost any fragrance that has a noticeable pepper influence in the notes works fantastically on my skin and Luna Rosa Extreme certainly is no exception to that experience! Part of the beauty of PLRE is the rest of the notes tend to pull the lavender away from being a ‘pure’ lavender scent. On my skin it almost seems as if there's another gentle white floral aspect at work that softens and smoothens the lavender into something I find far more appealing. The pepper adds the warm masculinity and the amber and vanilla the comfort and all these aspects working together make for a very likeable, stylish beautifully balanced fragrance. I’m well impressed and if the notes are your thing, you’ll find those around you will be as well. Silage is quite noticeable and remains for at least 4 to 5 hours even with just a moderate application and length about 7 or so hours before moving to a skin scent. Enjoy!

Instantly reminded me of Tea for Two! They share a very similar blend of notes, even though it may not seem so from the simple note comparison. The notes that I am referring to smell kind of like “smoky spicy gingerbread with black tea”. To be quite honest, if you want to have an idea of what Luna Rossa Extreme smells like, look at the notes for Tea for Two as they will give you a better picture of what to expect. Tea for Two is more smoky, dense, thick and intense, while Prada is lighter and fresher (if you can call it fresh at all). To me they are both winter/fall scents, however Prada can also be used in other seasons, as long as you don’t overspray it. Silage is moderate and longevity is good (around 8 hours). It is quite linear on my skin and does not develop much. Last but not least, don’t be deceived, this has nothing to do with the original Luna Rossa.

I got a tester of this, and found it to be absolutely fabulous and pleasant to wear, and gathered some compliments. I was able to snag a bottle on Ebay before prices exploded for a reasonable price, and was quite content. I then started looking for a clone because I didn't want to burn through my only bottle. Enter Shobi Perfumery out of Greece... They ship to the US, and it was pretty painless. They have a clone of this, and you can have them add additional essence to the bottle if you'd like, which I did add 3mils to a 100ml bottle. And after about a month of aging, it was a fabulous clone of this fragrance. I'm only writing this because I wanted to share with those of you in case you love this scent as much as myself. I find it to be about 95% a clone of the original, and the performance is decent. Cheers!!

Back in 2015 I stopped by Dubai Airport Duty Free shop to buy a fragrance & I have tested this one on my wrist & the first reaction was a big NO due to the strong harsh peppery top note & ended up buying DHI; then I left the duty free for boarding & when I was on the airplane I smelled my wrist where I splashed it & boom it was a great regret that I didn't buy it. Since then I was trying to get it from other places but I couldn't find it due to the fact that it has been discontinued & became so hard to find; but guess what after all these years I finally found it brand new & sealed. I can't describe my reaction after all these years of searching. two lessons learned from this story, never judged a fragrance immediately after you spray it & never stop searching for the fragrance you loved.

Sampling this one as I write this. What's not to love? Black pepper, bergamot, lavender, vanilla are all in this absolutely! I do detect a black licorice hint in this. Ultimately, reminds me exactly of Spicebomb!! Mainly because of the black pepper but I also get a little of a fresh minty vibe (even though it is not listed in the ingredients) which makes this different from spicebomb. The lavender really comes through with this scent, with vanilla playing in the background. Ouuu and that amber! If you are a fan of spicebomb, anything woodsy, spicy, and masculine, consider getting yourself to smell it! You won't be disappointed! And for anyone who is looking for an extreme version of the original, imo, I don't think this anything like that. A whole different scent altogether!

Unlike the original this has more staying power. The original non-extreme Luna Rossa is nice but its too subtle, too watered down. I dont want my scent to be overpowering but I certainly dont want them to go unnoticed. The Extreme however has such a nice mature smell to it. I definitely recommend for 25/30+ crowd. Its totally a winter scent, would be an awesome scent to wear during the holidays. I love how its not overpowering but has such a distinct spicy amber scent. It just smells classy man. Subtle enough for office but bold enough for going out. I love how this dries on my skin, it settles in really nice after first 30 minutes. This scent isnt for everyone but for those looking for a unique smell its a great flanker and much better than the original IMO.

after all the good reviews I bought this... WOW this is great, it doesn't shy away yet not overpowering. a soft calming fragrance. I get nothing though on first spray, I'm not sure if there is a note my nose can't pick up or what but after 20min till 14hrs+ later it's full on lavender. but like different stages of lavender, first it's a peppery lavender then a few hours later a creamy vanilla lavender another few hours later an ambery lavender. this is a great buy cos it's autumn now and this works well. I love it. My bottle is just finished now n I will get another, this fragrance is just too good, pure class n I enjoyed every minute of it. It's one of the best fragrances I had. Edit: I've finished my 2nd bottle n it wasn't as long lasting as the first.

Dominant pepper & lavender with an airy juniper lift, based out with a soft amber’y accord. A clearly present and consistently pleasant masculine silage through its respectable longevity. It’s a natural cool weather blend, edging toward formal, but with enough versatility for cooler summer evenings and casual wear. It is such a compelling scent for me that I have for the first time bought ‘stock’, and now own several bottles. Well liked by others, this has garnered some overtly enthusiastic reactions. Long lasting, bold yet smooth, and genuinely unique, it's a borderline niche blend IMHO. I can only surmise that Prada discontinued this due to a key ingredient falling foul of increased costs or legislation.

Why, oh why did they discontinue this gem? Lavender and vanilla have paired well together for decades, but making them contemporary is no easy task. Enter Luna Rossa Extreme. This is soft pepper, strong lavender, sweet vanilla, painted on an amber canvas with a gloriously elegant dry-down. Very calming and soothing for both the wearer and observer. It's so well made that you could easily pivot between the office and a date night with a loved one. But is this Luna Rossa flanker really "extreme"? Not really. More intense, perhaps. If you've been a fan of Le Male, but wanted something bolder, more masculine and longer-lasting, look no further than this amazing flanker.

I love this fragrance. I was not a huge fan of Prada fragrances. Especially the original Luna Rossa, tried it and nearly hated it. So, I was cautious about this too. Yesterday I went to store to try it on and I fell in love with it. It is so much different than the original. Think about an artist, their first paintings won't be very good but this fragrance is the masterpiece of Prada. The pepper is very well balanced with other notes and it has a good longevity.(7+ hours) It will also get you compliments from everyone. I will buy this and you should too. If you are like me and don't love the original, just go on and try this. I promise, you will love it.

This stuff is gorgeous! Prada, bring this back, please! By total surprise I recently encountered a tester (which the salesperson refused to sell despite it being long discontinued). I couldn’t believe it. Instant love on first spray. I don’t find the pepper overpowering at all, it strikes me as a mix between Armani Code EDP and Prada Luna Rossa Sport, and it really leans toward the Code territory in the dry down with a touch of that Prada soapiness. If they ever release an EDP concentration of Black, it should be this scent with maybe a twist added. This actually performs very well too with solid projection and sillage, shame it was discontinued.

This thing was released some 5 to 10 years too soon. Probably didn't sell nowhere as near as they wanted and yet here we are in the time of elixir fragrances using lavender and other notes to create beautiful aromatics. I was lucky enough to have bought an extra bottle way back then and saved it. Tried this again recently and couldn't help but think this is a fantastic masculine fragrance that feels right up there with the best. If you own one, you know what I mean, and you know that we're lucky to have this thing. I genuinely wish Prada would bring it back even if with another name because this would no doubt sell very well nowadays.

I gotta say like all the flankers in the luna rossa line its better than the original. I'm in love with the original LR sport but this is so good too. Compliment getter all day. Definitely a winter fall scent, and Def powder (like most Pradas) but spicy unlike the other LRs. It's so unique it's got to be in everyones arsenal. With that said because it's so unique it's best suited for winter/fall, night time. Not really an office scent either, but I've worn it because it's not over powering but you will get noticed. This smells not for everyone but man is it unique and I always get compliments

Love this frag!! just like the rest of prada frags it is smells classy and rich. At the first spray you will not get it, wait 10 seconds and then you'll start feeling what's it all about. The dry down is even better, it tends to get a litte bit sweeter and itsy bitsy floral. The longevity is amazing. I'm writing this review at 19:30 when I sprayed it at 13:00 on my wrists and the dry down scent is still evolving. I know its just gonna keep on evolving. and I washed my wrists several times since ı applied it. perfection!!!

This is a great fragrance. Rich, fresh, spicy and not too sweet. Just wait for the drydown - it's a thing of beauty. It's very pleasant and safe for around the office - not offensive at all and it does not project like a beast. I've gotten compliments already, not that it matters, but everyone around me seems to like it. Much better than the original version, and it's unisex - my wife loves it and wears it also. Lasts on me for about 3-4 hrs. and then it gets closer to the skin, but despite that it's still a great buy.

Love this one. It's easily the best out of the Luna Rossa family. There is definitely some similarities to Amber Pour Homme Intense as well, most likely from the amber and vanilla notes, but it is still it's own fragrance. It's a bit spicy but overall pretty soft and it honestly smells a lot like root beer to me which is awesome because I love root beer. It's definitely unique for a designer fragrance and is certainly at least worth a sample of. It also smells almost nothing like the original Luna Rossa

My god I miss this masterpiece. This was pepper done right, on top of a creamy lavender, vanilla, amber combination. The harshness of the opening was actually what I enjoyed the most, but was also likely the reason why it likely wasnt a top seller, it was so different and yet invigorating when you sprayed it on - a pure masculine scent at its best. Nothing has scratched the itch for this scent, especially in terms of pepper scents, this was truly one of the best fragrances I ever experienced.

@enro. This Fragrance and le male smell very little a like if at all. This is a spicy pepper Fragrance that in my opinion has a touch of coke, the drink, to it. I know all noses are different but le male is a powdery lavender Fragrance, they share some similar notes but personally i think they go a lot different of a way then each other with them. They do share that note. How scents like this get discontinued but they still have eau sport as a fragrance is just crazy

The more I smell it, especially when the spiciness starts to be balanced with the sweetness, warmness, slightly powdery, and slightly aromatic combination from the vanilla, lavender, and amber. That spiciness at the top is actually what makes me intrigued about wearing it more often now. It is just so addictive, despite being harsh to some. It also has a great performance on my skin and especially on clothes. It is beautiful to me. Too bad they discontinued it.

Prada brings it with this classy, sophisticated, clean fragrance. I really love the scent of this cologne. The pepper, vanilla and lavender combo work wonders with the other fabulous notes that create this inviting and seductive fragrance. The sillage and longevity are above average to me and I get compliments on it everywhere I go. This was a blind buy and I think I did really well. I used to not really care fir this fragrance, I didn’t not like it, I didn’t hate it either. It simple just was another bottle in my collection. I always wore this in summer and it was simple just ok. But I tried it today in the fall and love it. So great, it is floral and masculine., I didn’t smell any vanilla though. It’s goid stuff. You can wear it all year round but, I feel this performs better in cold weather situations

What a magnificent and exquisitely blended perfume! The subtle transition from the top to base notes is so beautiful that you just want to experience it over and over again. Perfect choice for formal occasions or romantic evenings. If you're looking for a scent for clubbing or a casual night out, this is NOT the one. With these rumors of discontinuation floating around, I might just need to get a back up bottle or three.

Luna Rossa Extreme is a good one from prada , very suitable for winter time & i believe that cause of the black pepper & lavender as it works in good harmony and ofcourse with the vanilla as well beside the bottle design with the dark glass always refers to the intensity of the juice unlike Luna Rossa ( summer time ) , all these elements wrapped around a good longevity & projection it gives a really good results.

didn't like this one at first. tried it in the shop and thought it smelled like something burning. got home and it had a dry down similar to tobacco vanille. so i went back and bought it. very nice smell now, would recommend this. i only have one other prada perfume - amber extreme. it's nice too. both would be for night time, and when it's cooler. i live in a hot country so don't get a chance to wear it much

Luna Rossa Extreme Starts off as a peppery JPG La Male. I dont think the black pepper was a good idea as the opening is a bit messy, harsh and sour. However, give it 10 minutes to settle then this fragrance becomes a very smooth, beautiful and luxurious amber vanilla blend with Prada's signature soapyness vibe. It is much better and higher quality than JPG La Male with excellent longevity. I love it.

I do not understand why they discontinued this, when its one if their best frags that they have. There are so many others that they could do without to keep this masterpiece. I really think that highly of it. Its different from almost anything else. Cartier Declaration (I believe is the one) is somewhat close, closer than anything else. I do miss this. I luckily still have a full bottle.

Luna Rossa Extreme by Prada is perfect for the fall/winter months. In the start I get spice, vanilla and a bit of lavender. The dry down is very nice with hints of amber, vanilla and bergamot. To me the lavender disappears in the dry down. Unlike Luna Rossa (non-extreme)in which the lavender lasts forever. Very nice fragrance which I enjoy wearing. Very sophisticated and masculine.

This is an excellent fragrance from Prada (Once again) the notes combine wonderfully well, the pepper, amber, vanilla and lavender work so well together. It manages to be both fresh and invigorating, it's very different to the original. Sillage is very good, it radiates well, and the longevity is fantastic. This is a beautiful blended, excellent quality fragrance, I love it.

XX Chromosone Combo checking in to say I love this. I've never tried the original, so I can't compare the two. But on its own merits it's a spicy, warm, softly sweet lavender, as comforting as Christmas. I'm debating with myself whether or not I can pull this off as a girl. I just ran out of my long beloved CK Be and there's a space open for lavender in my wardrobe.

The interplay of freshness and warm spiciness on my skin is just amazing. It stays like that for a long time, and is followed by a gentle dry-down, with an more pronounced amber note. I was hesitating between this and the original Luna Rossa for a long time, but the Extreme won. It is one of those rare cases when the flanker is better than the original.

Reminds me of a fresher version of L'Air du Desert Marocain by Andy Tauer. The amber shines through beautifully with pepper and lavender adding a fresh/spicy touch that most noses will appreciate. This blurs the lines between niche and designer in my opinion; 3 foot sillage and 12+ hours of longevity. One of my best buys of the year so far.

Very masculine and not as aquatic as the original. The black peppar is definitely there, specially in the beginning but I get a lot of woody notes from the start till the end, which make this scent dark, mysterious and really nice for winter. I just picked up a 100ml bottle of a PLRE 'inspired by' scent from a company here in the UK. It is a long time since I had the OG but as soon as I smelled this dupe it was immediately recognizable and definitely scratched the OG-itch. Nice perfume , well made as a remembrance for oldies , deep sensual highly present and masculine , it reminds me of old authentic ambery perfumes but the touch of pepper added alot to make it special and less resinus , i suggest it for serious classy business man . never the less , original Luna Rossa is the best for me .

@norbertholy.com Yes, I think the same, smells like Le male but with lot of pepper and spice and less vanilla. I have Le male summer 2015, when I starting use I feel the top notes very similar to Luna rossa extreme but not as fresh and peppery:) I like better LRE than Le male, more colder and comfortable for everyday

Sadly discontinued. Great fragrance that doesn't feel like your typcal soapy prada and as such easy to understand why it got the can. but this is an amazing fragrance. Get your hands on it before they're gone from all retailers. I noticed good resemblence to at the Barber's from the folks at Martin Margiela. enjoy!

I love this scent. In my opinion it is not a mainstream fragrance. However, it does remind me of TF's Tobacco Vanille a lot, which is my favourite scent to wear. This one is much cheaper. Even though performance is not as good, for the proce it's a great alternative!! Love it.

I bought a second bottle, batch code is from 2014, I think this has got bigger sillage, not too much, but better. Extreme version without huge projection on me that I regret:( I use a lot, I adore the smell of LRE, so fresh and clean, perfect for every day:) thanks Prada

At first I was blown away by the amazing opening, but as the drydown kicked in I was reminded of another very familiar lavender/vanilla combo; Le male. It turned from a love to a like for me. Definitely NOT worth the high prices over at ebay. Buy Le male instead folks.

Why do these brands keep discontinuing the best ones ?!!! This is a masculine confident peppery lavender with a hint of spice and resin. Signature scent worthy Non offending Good performance No complains except the 1st thing I said!! Office safe All weather 8/10
