Prada Candy

When I first heard about Prada Candy I was completely turned off by the name. It sounds like a Paris Hilton or Britney Spears scent, and my spontaneous thought was simply "dang, a sellout.. I feel sorry for you Prada". For some reason I got my ass over to the perfume shelves in the store and tried that Hilton sellout on, and oh heavens! It didn't take long before I changed my mind completely. Prada Candy is one of those scents that I've been longing for without knowing that they existed. A mellow, grown up gourmand with dignity. And the fact that you recognize Infusion d'Iris in it makes it even better. I like Id'I, but there's something with it I can't stand on my skin. Candy picked the golden parts of Id'I up and chucked it into a warm irresistible gourmand blend. Could it get any better? I understand why many people dislike it though, the simplicity of this scent makes it a hit or miss. Either you like it or you don't. Also my skin tend to pick gourmand notes up very easily and never let go of them, so on me it smells delicious for hours and hours, even though it's quite close to the skin. The sheerness of it might be a problem if it doesn't fit like a puzzle piece with your skin. My boyfriend has asked me about five times since the day before yesterday what I'm wearing, because I smell unusually good. He almost never tells me that, unless it's Thierry Mugler Angel EdT or Prada Candy. Straight to the top Prada, good work. I'm hooked.

Prada Candy - the OG gourmand! This has been an absolute staple of mine for YEARS. Since college! The caramel comes through so well on this fragrance, but it's blended so nicely that it's not sickenly sweet. There is a warmth to Prada Candy that just emanates so well. In my opinion, this feels like an ambery caramel that's balanced with faint florals in the background. I know that there are no florals listed in the notes, but trust they are there way in the background. The caramel really projects in the first 10 to 30 minutes, and that lovely musky amber comes through in the dry down. This perfume just feels LUXE! If you want a sophisticated, grown-up gourmand, there's a reason this is the OG! I think the projection and sileage are exactly what you'd expect from a designer fragrance. Nothing crazy, but not bad by any means. I will have a bottle of Prada Candy til the day I die!! Rating: 8/10

I am a huge fan of sweet scents. If it smells edible and makes me hungry, I want to smell like it. Prada Candy is that perfume. It smells of creamy caramel and vanilla. On first spray, it is strong and sweet, but the dry down is incredibly yummy. I don't pick up any musky or powdery undertones, like some others have said. Everyone's body chemistry is different though. On me, the caramel becomes more prominent, deeper, and richer. It reminds me of pralines or brittle. If you enjoy sweeter scents, I will say this is a good blind buy. If you are not into sweeter scents, this one is definitely not for you. I recommend trying it on at Sephora or Ulta first. It smells amazing when I layer it with a woody scent. I also have Candy Night. It has notes of chocolate and tonka bean. It's not as sweet as the original. This may be a better option for those who prefer sweet but not overly sweet.

Candy is a blend of soapy musk, white flowers, caramel and benjoin. This might sounds boring but this fragrance is actually remarkably daring. Indeed, Candy exhibits a conscious overdose of soap and caramel. It starts more on the soapy floral edge, with soft notes of buttery caramel. Then the fragrance evolves towards an almost burnt caramel, something less sweet than expected but not quite bitter. What remains in the drydown is chunks of burnt sugar drown in a deep lactonic benjoin. This is the perfect conclusion for a fragrance named Candy : a very addictive and regressive scent. Candy is one of the first perfume that I bought and, even though there are so many fragrances I enjoy more right now, it will remain my guilty pleasure.

A soft embrace of powder and clean musk. I adore this one, but I get every note except caramel, which makes me question whether I actually know what caramel smells like. There's a warmth to it that I attribute to the benzoin, but maybe that's my missing caramel? Like many have said, it isn't very sweet, at least not compared to its contemporaries (the straight up caramel frappuccino that is yum boujee kitty caramel milk comes to mind) better described as soft, comforting, maybe cozy. Becomes muskier and more human in summer, absolutely still wearable. Not at all edible and maybe that's what saves it from being sickening in August. Doesn't project a whole lot, more of a skin scent.

It would seem like this gem has undergone a change. Nearly 10 years ago, this was my first high end fragrance that started my extreme love for benzoin - it was a super sweet, powdery balsamic scent. I recently bought a bottle made 11 months ago, and while it still retains the DNA, it is much less sweet as well as being incredibly heavy on the powder and musk. It's still lovely, but the focus from the vanillic benzoin has shifted drastically. The longevity also seems to have taken quite a dip, now becoming a skin scent within an hour. Even so, this fragrance will always hold a special place in my heart!

I love foodie smells and sweet smells so this was divine for me from the first spray. What I like is that the sweetness of the smell persists after the dry down but the smell still tranforms over time. I couldn't smell the vanilla and yet felt like it's what ties it all together. I noticed that the initial caramel note that I love doesn't last very long and fades out to a more muted combination of smells. This is why I would say that this is more suitable for day wear. If I buy a large bottle, I might just carry this around with me to spray throughout the day. I love the caramel that much.

One of my favorite perfumes of all time. Very sweet, very musky. Maybe a little powdery. It’s warm and clean and beautiful. But I don’t get any caramel notes and it definitely doesn’t smell like candy. Cons: horrible longevity. For as much as this fragrance costs, it doesn’t last near long enough. And the atomizer on the 1.7oz bottle is the worst atomizer I have ever come across. It’s the one that doesn’t have a detachable cap. You press down on the black and gold atomizer and a stream of perfume comes out. I swear it’s like a fire hose lol. One long stream when it needs to be a mist.

💲no idea how much it cost -from Marshalls- back in 2012. One of my first empties, & it took me 12 years! lol. I will say, it never went bad, only the liquid got a bit darker. 👃 The only reason it took me forever to use it up is because I was cherishing, using it sparingly & only on special occasions. The scent was intoxicating from the very first sniff; Sweet, soft, clean, caramelized with just a tiny dusting of powder. Don’t let the name fool you into thinking it is juvenile, it’s not. It’s not the Pink Sugar type of sweet. No, it’s a demure, sophisticated, sugar-free type of sweet.

I can't explain it, but this smells like a memory. Not even of anywhere too specific- maybe a fancy hotel room, or a clean elevator, or a city street at dusk. It kind of smells a little bit like a sweet cigarette, if I'm being honest, which I actually kind of love! It's so nostalgic for some reason. I don't actually own a bottle, but I tried some on my arm in a store and couldn't stop smelling it. Not a conventional scent, but great NONETHELESS. Might buy it!

I don't understand why people are saying it smells sugary. To me, fragrances like Pink Sugar, Fantasy, Manifesto are sugary, even the famous Angel is more sugary (burnt sugar) than Candy. Candy is all about caramel, benzoin and musk. Yes, it's sweet, but not in a syrupy/cotton candy kind of way. If this is a candy, then it's a sophisticated one. Actually, when I smelled it for the first time, I thought - wow this is so similar to EL Sensuous.

Smells like musky and powdery caramel sauce of toffee. Like good old time's english whiskey toffee. I'm not A fan of powdery scents in general, but I don't mind it in this. At first I thought it's just ok, but I guess my taste has changed a bit since 2016 when I first bought this. Because now it's WOW, I looove it <3 I'm now in my early 40's :)

you'll smell like a sweet sugar cookie with warm caramel toping, only for those who lean closer. Too expensive for it silage and longevity, I think this one could have a been a tad more cheap, it would a hit and a best seller. Perfect sweet soft caramel, although no particular character in perfume, I'd say top sweet perfume on the market

I fell in love with this perfume the moment I smelled it. So many people think it is so sweet smelling, and compare it to Pink Sugar (which I happen to like a lot) but to me, Candy is completely unique, and complex, and musky/amber/rich smelling rather than super sweet. For me, this is a special occasion/nighttime scent.

On my skin the middle notes are top and top notes are middle. So on first spray it's really powdery and makeup-y. Then on the dry down I get more caramel. This to me doesn't smell that sweet, I have smelled some of the sweetest frags however. This is more dry to me. It's timeless and I feel confident and sexy wearing it.

This is my all time favorite scent! My only gripe is I wish it lasted longer and had better projection. This is the best in warmer weather. I. The cold it is there but is very light. I work in a cold office but when I have my heater going, it turns into this beautiful mature musky gourmand masterpiece. Love love!!

This smells like the lipsticks my mom wore when I was a child or maybe vintage makeup. I adore this scent, it feels very feminine. My boyfriend has commented that he likes this fragrance. Definitely smells nothing like candy, but more like the beauty section of a late 80s/early 90s department store. Lovely 8.5/10

Sweet, but not too sweet. It's been an everyday grab for me for a couple years now. I've gotten many compliments on it, and it doesn't give my aunt (who is sensitive to smells) a headache if I wear it around her. I've also gotten compliments while working long restaurant shifts without reapplying.

I love this scent so much. Its sweet, buttery, and doesn't dry down to powder like many cake-y scents like this do. It is quite intimate for sillage, making it perfect for daily or office wear. A night event might require something stronger. I love getting a waft of this during the day.

I was expecting a sugar bomb based on the name and packaging but I was so pleasantly surprised to find that Prada Candy is a soft, sweet, lightly musky fragrance that sits close to the skin! It's slightly powdery, sweet without being cloying, a gourmand for the working professional.

goshhh i just can’t with this fragrance!! i love it so much i would use it as a second skin scent everyday all year round, it’s just feels so me. everytime i smell it on store i feel enamored with it, i don’t know why after all this years i haven’t committed to finally buy it lmao

it isn't as sweet and gourmandy as i hoped it would be from the notes and advertising and name so i was disappointed when i first got it, BUT i actually really love it. to me it is the perfect everyday perfume for people who like gourmands.

Idc how trashy this perfume is or how many times I’ve been told that I smell like a $20 prostitute while wearing it— this perfume will have to be pried from my cold dead hands idgaf. It’s definitely not a mature fragrance but it’s fun!!

This is one of a few gourmand perfumes I like and have in my collection. It gives off a very sweet, sensual, and seductive scent. All I wish is that it would last longer than 2 hours. After 2 hours it becomes a skin scent.

Just perfection! However sweet it appears, it's not childish due to the powdery notes. On the contrary, it's the epitome of femininity to me. If you have any longevity issues, let it macerate for a few months.

I have been in search of a powdery babydoll fragrance and after trying a few that are marketed as such, I did not expect to find the perfect babydoll smell in Prada Candy. Sweet cabbage patch doll smell.

The caramel and strawberry are soft and smooth, blending beautifully with the vanilla and musk. It’s a perfectly balanced mix of fruity and floral notes.

It's very sweet, but the sweetness never becomes overwhelming. It smells like a fresh batch of sweet pastries just came out of the oven

As I recover from the loss of a nine year relationship, one of the things I find takes my mind off things is trying new fragrances. It’s therapeutic: as any expert will tell you mindfulness involves engaging your senses and what better way to do so for a “fraghead” than by trying new scents? Now, I will admit, part of my quest has involved searching for a “man-magnet” perfume that makes me feel desirable again and will turn heads when I decide the time is right to get back on the dating scene. Where does Prada Candy come into play? I’ll tell you. Now going by what I have read online, from past experiences and deducing from the science of scent in sexual attraction that men are drawn to gourmand compositions and musk, I figured Candy would be a sure fire contender for making the right impression. In that respect, this scent has proved disappointing. No compliments from the opposite sex, nothing carnal by my own interpretation, no feelings of being back on top form. This is not my magic seduction potion. However... What Candy is, is comfort. It’s a stroke of the hair. It’s a hug from your best friend. It’s a chai latte to snuggle into bed with as you hide away in your bed and let yourself feel the hurt you’ve bottled up all day at the office under your veneer of the strong woman who won’t let something as irrational as her love life affect her career in contract law one iota. *I approached Candy expecting a potent, sugary nostrilful of caramel flirtiness and mouthwatering seduction. What I was met with was a blanket of powdered benzoin, elegantly underscored by the sort of upmarket caramel you would find in a boozy desert in a boutique restaurant as opposed to say, coating the biscuit layer of a Twix. True to Prada's signature, it shares many qualities with other scents in the brand's repertoire, that unmistakable powdery blend found in the Infusions line and may be a safe blind buy for fans. Its sillage is close and personal. Only the two women I was in within a foot’s proximity of could smell it. But they loved it. “You smell lovely! What are you wearing today Lizzy?” So it’s a girl’s scent for girls huh? Well, that’s great! You know what, I’ve never been a fan of gourmands. Give me vetiver, patchouli, white flowers, leather and woods any day. What I found here was a scent that suits my chemistry, lifts my mood and makes me feel at ease with myself and is just the right amount of sweet for me. Perhaps this fragrance is a lesson in being yourself. But as I’m not my usual, logic-and-facts driven self right now, I shall continue my search for my take-me-to-bed scent. Prada Candy is not my date night fragrance but it is now my “everything’s going to be okay” fragrance. I bought a full bottle.

The dry down shines as it intertwines sensual vanilla and cozy and balsamic benzoin. Overall, it’s a very pretty sweet and powdery caramel and vanilla! I bought this when I was in my 20s, and I was so excited about it! I was just starting to really build my collection at that point, and it was just starting to grow. This one stood out to me for maybe about a year. I recently bought it out again to see how I feel about it, especially because I’m a big fan of gourmands, especially marshmallow, vanilla, and/or caramel scents. I definitely still like it, and it’s something that I might reach for occasionally again. This feels feminine to me, and suitable for women of any age as it’s a sophisticated caramel scent. It feels like it would work best during the fall and winter because it’s so cozy, although it could be worn during the warmer months as it’s not something that’s overly sweet, or decadent. This feels most fitting for casual occasions, work/school, and possibly even for date nights. It could also work well as a signature scent. As a gourmand lover, Prada’s Candy was for me always a like for me, but it fell shortly behind Kenzo’s Flower L’Elixir. Now long discontinued, sadly... A more simplified, simplistic, straightforward caramel, powdery vanilla perfume. I have tested it today in store for nostalgic reasons, on a blotter, and it seems significantly weaker than I was remembering it to be. It smells good and sweet and delectable but it doesn’t have much intensity. It has been iconic in 2010’s, nobody can deny that, but I found it today to be fairly average and a bit boring. It lost its appeal with so many available gourmands currently to buy, and some with better longevity. The good news is that it is quite cheap online, often being advertised for half price off, for those interested. I would recommend this personally to those who want an affordable and easily accessible option for perfumes like Bianco Latte, but don’t want to purchase a Middle Eastern perfume/dupe! It’s going to smell better and less synthetic but it will lack in performance. If I wouldn’t have Bianco Latte, I would purchase Candy over Arabic dupes in 2025. On a tangent note, I smell a lot of Middle Eastern perfumes, dupes or original creations around me nowadays, and I find most of them really obnoxious and repulsive to be frank... Miss Andrier has created countless gorgeous perfumes for Prada over time, I am a big fan of her work, especially the Infusions line!

I’ve had a 10mL of this for about a week. I had previously had a sample years ago and loved it, and so I randomly bought a mini. It smells differently than I remember. I remember it smelling sweet and sexy. Today though, it’s less sweet and more grown up. This is a grown woman’s fragrance (think 35-45, which I am!). It has a similar feel to Bal d’ Afrique, but without the lemony top notes. It smells put together, inoffensive, safe for office, and relaxed. It also smells like lipstick. A luxury lipstick. Has that makeup smell to it, which I actually like. This is an easy reach for sure. It’s not cloying and does not give me a headache. It is well blended because none of the notes standout. I do get a vanilla and caramel feel to it but honestly? It’s nowhere near the Bianco lattes or escapade gourmands of today. Keep in mind that this fragrance came way before them. Prada candy walked so that Bianca latte could run! Overall, this is a nice fragrance and I will use up my mini but it isn’t full bottle worthy at this time. It’s an easy reach for when you don’t want to kill everyone with your fragrance but still want to smell like you tried. In my line of work, I have smelled this on many of the women I have interacted with. Prada Candy smells a bit wealthy, as well. Definitely not cheap. It is comforting and mellow. Grab a decant or a ten mL before splurging on the full bottle.

Ive always wanted to own this perfume after I came across an ad on a vogue megazine when I was a kid. It used to have those rub & try tester thingy on the page. It was my indoctrination into the world of scents & I was obsessed with it. Now as an adult I finally got it. Idk if it has been reformulated since its release bt its not as intoxicating as I remembered. Something really changed. It smells very weak now. I sprayed on myself multiple times but my mom said she couldnt smell it. Non-offensive, good for everyday use, all year round. Could be signature worthy- i would like it to be mine bt the only problem is- its very weak & faint and dissappears after a while. Very sad. My mom who hates every perfume I wear & gets sick actually liked this one. I get why people say its grandma-ish bt i dont mind. It does not smell old to me. It smells like an it-girl from the 2010's who parties all night & is drunk till 5 am on the streets of London. Heroine chic with a fur coat. Thats the vibe it gives off. The composition is very simple compared to newer fragrances bt that simplicity is comforting. Its not trying too hard, its effortlessly chic. It reminds me of Cleopatra & Frankenstein by Coco Mellors (Cleo wouldve worn this), Peaches Geldof, early twitter, tumblr it girls, Cara Delevigne & her eyebrows, streets of London, fur coats etc etc...

Before there was Bianco Latte and Escalade Gourmande and a million other photorealistic gourmands there was Prada Candy. This was pretty unique when it came out. Some people will find Candy too sweet and others not sweet enough, depending on what they like and what they were hoping for. If you want to smell like a literal dessert you may not like this. But if you want to smell like the essence of dessert (delicious, comforting, sweet) you might be delighted. There is definitely caramel here, but in a perfume-y way. There’s also a lovely vintage powder-esque musk that elevates the fragrance from any possible allegations of being juvenile. It feels elegant and mature but not dated. It feels like a warm hug from your mom after she’s finished getting ready to go out, powdered, perfumed, and made up. It’s so nice for cool weather but I think could fly for any season and would be safe in the office too. This one is very nostalgic for me as I remember smelling it in magazines when it launched and it was one of my first “grown up” perfumes, so I might be biased, but a decade later I still love it and I truly believe it stands the test of time.

(Revisiting my old bottles) A perfume I used to wear when I was young and full of life, walking around with rosy cheeks. Now I occasionally reach for the last 10 ml left in my poor bottle, which literally looks like sugar particles have settled at the bottom, just to feel the memories again. I still love it. It’s seriously sweet, seriously caramel-heavy, and seriously beautiful too. Every warm note you can think of has gathered in this bottle and is dancing together. It’s better than most of today’s gourmand releases. The slight burnt edge of the caramel never ruins the overall composition. And the powdery notes give it a full-on doll vibe. When I was 19 my boyfriend at the time bought this for me, for Valentine’s day I think. He loved me but only the cheap and easy parts of me. He loved that I was pretty, he loved that I listened. I loved this scent in the same way, I think— I loved that it made me smell sweet. I loved that everyone thought it was good. It made me feel seductive in the most juvenile, basic way imaginable, but in a way that still feels super new and exciting when you’re freshly out of your awkward phase. Now that I’m a teeny bit older, I find myself gravitating toward scents that are a little stranger and a little drier. My taste in alcohol has shifted in the same way lololol. I would never buy this again but I look back on it with love

Received a bottle for xmas, as i've loved the smell for a long time, i'd always try it on when shopping at ulta. Sadly, after a week of trying to make it work, I returned my bottle today. I don't know if it was just the bottle I got, but the longevity was SO weak. And I don't mind an intimate sillage, but if i'm paying that price for a luxury perfume, I need to be able to smell it on myself for more than 20 minutes. I tried overspraying, I tried vaseline, I tried everything because I love the scent so much. It felt wasteful to return it but I know I don't want to compromise when there's other perfumes for the same price point that are just as lovely + actually have real staying power.

Pois trabalhar uma nota de difusão, como é o caramelo e a baunilha, e tornar esta fragrância adorável, íntima, terna. Mas só pode ser bom para pessoas que gostam de perfumes com cheiro de abraço, e de intimidade. Este não é um perfume de grande projeção e propagação no ambiente. Pelo contrário, tudo nele é moderado. Dura o tempo que você mastiga um caramelo na boca. Quem gosta tem que saber que vai levá-lo na bolsa para reaplicar. Prada Candy. Adorável. Viciante. Obs: adoraria que pudesse ter mais longevidade. Até logo, Prada.

If you like Prada's OG fragrance you will probably enjoy this. Although the name is very misleading because it really does not smell like candy. If you like fragrances that have a sweetness but more towards an amber sweet and not a sugar sweet this is a good one to try. Prada makes some really good designer fragrances that I quite like. I feel like this was a more reserved version of Prada Amber and definitely advertised towards a younger generation when it launched. I used to enjoy it as a date night scent but it feels a little too "synthetic" it how it unfolds over time on me. At this point it's living in my collection for the memories.

Lately, I've been in the mood to collect fragrances that were popular around 2018. Enough time has passed and I no longer find them to be generic or common. Prada Candy is one of these. I'm surprised at how powdery this perfume is. I was expecting a candy-like, sweet caramel scent but no, this is powder, lipstick and makeup bag. Most similar to Lipstick On and Voile Rose. Very enjoyable as a bedtime and everyday signature scent. The perfume cloud stays close and the longevity lasts a few days on my clothes. This perfume is not candy caramel and youthful like the name suggests. It's a baby powder cloud. Lovely and cozy in cooler weather.

Honestly, I'd say it highly depends on your preference of perfume. I've smelled a bunch of sweet perfumes and this one definitely takes the cake. It's just pure sweetness which I absolutely love! Though my mother, for example, said it gave her a headache from how sweet it was. So, again, if you like sweet smells, this is pretty good. Though I wouldn't recommend it as a first-time perfume. As for how it reacts to my skin? Not so well. I spray it on my clothes mostly since my skin is basicallg patchouli and it definitely doesn't go well with it. Though I love wearing it for everyday use in spring times!

To the two reviews below, that's it exactly! I had this years ago so I bought it again 🙂 There's that Prada base that I am used to, (I notice it in Infusion d'Iris & luna rossa) This, to me, is equally a caramel note and powdery note. The vanilla/benzoin base is very present at the dry down with the powder/caramel. I happen to like this fragrance, & yes, it seems very light. If caramel is a note that you really want to smell, there are so many better options to choose. Some really good ones! I do love caramel and vanilla fragrances. This is more about a soft, sweet, powdery, comfort scent.

7/10 Does it smell like candy? Not at all. I don’t smell any caramel notes either. It’s not sweet altogether! Why name it Candy? It does, however, smell like makeup, a high-quality foundation, or a nude matte lipstick. It’s just soft and powdery. The powder scent is beautiful and not old-fashioned in any way (which happens with powdery perfumes); I can picture a 20-year-old, as well as a 50-year-old, wearing it, and neither of them would miss. It’s pleasant for the nose, not provocative, just elegant and comforting. For me, it lacks character and boldness, but it's a safe choice.

In a world of hyper-sweet gourmands, this isn’t as sweet as you might expect it to be. However, it stands up well to the test of time. I get a light caramel, which is backed up by floral musky powders. It’s not syrupy sweet, but gentle and airy. The performance is not the best. It’s gone without a trace after around 90 mins. In contrast to the review below mine, I like the generous atomiser because it means there’s more chance of being able to smell it on myself. I got my little bottle for a decent discount, but I wouldn’t rebuy and I certainly would not buy at RRP.

I am actually happy this perfume is the way it is, I will agree that it is a very light caramel scent but it's nice to have it on the market because some people prefer perfumes that don't smell from across the room. It's a good perfume for a netflic and chill date or if you are simply wanting to smell nice but wanting to keep it lowkey. I could see myself purchasing this perfume so I can wear something around people who get migraines from fragrances since it is so light. I would definitely recommend this to people who like sweet scents but like to stay low-key.
