Prada L'Homme Absolu

First of all let me say I'm in love with the whole Prada L'Homme line so do not expect this to be negative review. To put everything into context, I have to mention the majority of the line for you guys. My journey with this line started with the original L'Homme and it was a love at first sniff. It's all you hear about it and then some. Clean, unique, professional, unforgettable. Great for spring / summer day use. I couldn't resist and shortly after went to a store to smell also L'Homme Intense and L'Homme L'Eau. From the two I immediatelly decided to purchase Intense version as a counterpart to the OG. It is more aggresive, sharper version suitable for cold weather and night occasions. Performance is almost unbeliveable: 12+ hours with 3-4 hours of great projection and sillage. Just wonderful! On the other hand I did not enjoy L'Eau that much. Sure, it is a fresher version of the original, but that goes only for the opening. Once it hits the mid and later a drydown, it loses part of the magic the original has. At the time I felt it is not necessary as for the office use original L'Homme has it all and I always felt this line is targeted for professional environment / dressed up occasions where you more often spend time in air conditioned rooms. If you are looking for a summer freshie, you can do much better then L'Eau imho. So to sum it up, I find it excessive / unnecessary. But wait: isn't that what everybody says about L'Homme Absolu? Excessive, unnecessary release? In my opinion? ABSOLUtely NOT!!! Instead of thinking why not to like it I immediately discovered what hole it is supposed to fill in the line. Imagine you spend your work day wearing L'Homme during the spring / summer and then decide to hit the downtown with your colleagues for some evening dinner / drink. (I know, during this Covid situation it sounds like a sci-fi). Here the Intense version would be too much and that's when it's the right time for Absolu. You don't even need to worry about getting rid of the L'Homme version and you can just layer it with Absolu and be ready to go! Later in the year when the weather starts to get colder, original L'homme might not be strong enough to cut through the cold air even during the day and Absolu becomes great substitute for your daily office driver. I find the performance to be on the level of Intense version, but it is a bit less loud and better suited for daily use in professional environment. Combine it with Intense and you are covered for nights out/ business dinners / drinks. I noticed some people are complaining about the performance of Absolu...maybe I'm just lucky, but it performs the same as the Intense on my skin. Yesterday at 1pm I sprayed my forearm once and I could still smell it when I woke up today at 8am. Not projecting, but it still was easilly recognizable skin scent. And did I mention I took a shower before I went to bad? It's a monster! In my opinion the whole L'Homme line is a masterpiece every professional should have in the arsenal ready to drop jaws. So there you have it. Hope you will find this useful. Stay safe & stay fresh! PS: hmmmmm, that L'Eau does not smell that bad, does it? I think I need it! :)

Im a big fan of this flanker. It suffered a few negative youtube reviews and those along with a lack of availability quickly compounded this as the forgotten L'homme from the series. Very unjust for me as this fragrance is beautiful. It starts out with a spicier more aromatic l'homme opening which is the best opening of the l'homme line to my nose. This lasts for around 45 minutes... if only it lasted longer! The fragrance then ventures into the darker side, it gets considerably more sexy and spicy with the Iris losing the battle with cardamom and amber, they take centre stage with the woody notes adding further depth. This 3-4 hour period is where it leaves some L'homme dna behind and starts to share some similarities with D&G The one , I do really enjoy this phase of the fragrance. The Iris does then faintly return in the final chapter of the scent as the cardamom fades away. All in all this is probably my favourite of the l'homme line and Its no easy feat as its a line I love. The cardamom & amber take it in a better direction than the iris/tonka heavy intense version and its more alluring and sexy than the original. Longevity is a solid 8 hours & projection is very good for the first 2.5 hours before then settling at around an arms length for another 3 hours it then settles close to the skin for the duration. Its more of a classy date scent than a loud club scent thats for sure 8.75/10 another great job Prada.

I had this on at the end of the day at work about 3pm (sprayed 2 spritz on my forearms some at 2pm from decant) A lady I worked with bumped into me at the work kitchen and caught a wiff of it and freaked out. She said she has never smelled anything that good and she didnt know they made colognes smell like that. She leaned in to get a second wiff (without asking). It was funny. But it made me realize, most people in general, dont know what is out there or what they smells like. I do think this is different than Intense. Reviewers have said that the difference is not enough to worry about it, but i disagree. I can still make out the Lhomme soapiness in Absolu, where you cant at all in Intense. 3 hour "working performance" is all you'll get though you can till smell it on you skin. Thats why I had a decant...usually after lunch Intense will last HOURSSSSS

This fragrance has been under the radar a bit because of it’s limited release, however it should not be overlooked. The iris is a very prominent note, so much so that I would say it shares great similarities with Dior Homme Eau in the opening and the final dry down. In between, it’s a battle of the darker, luxurious character of Prada L’homme Intense and the brighter, velvety-clean original - while not quite settling on either. The benefit of this is that you will get a fragrance that can be worn in all seasons, daytime or night, dressed up for the office or dressed down in casual wear. Unlike a lot of the fragrances you own —this one, like the original, may be one of the few you’ll actually get to finish. A fantastic scent worth trying out if you own the original but do not own Dior Homme Eau and Prada L’homme Intense.

For the life of me I cannot understand why Prada L'Homme Absolu is overlooked or dismissed all together! This is such a beautiful fragrance. This is perfect for transitioning from Summer to Autumn. It’s one of my favourites from the line. Absolu is no slouch! Longevity: personally I consistently get 9+ hrs Projection: Absolu makes its presence felt from beginning to end. Easily 2+ metres. Sillage: beginning to end Garners unsolicited compliments. Versatility: all seasons except summer and high humidity. Otherwise this can be dressed up or down. Great office fragrance, just be mindful of your sprays. No need to go heavy on the sprayer. This is strong. Too many sprays & this will become cloying. 2 sprays max and you are set. Another great release from Prada. 10/10 👍🏽👍🏽

If you like Intense you'll likely enjoy Absolu. Absolu is also a very safe blind buy for those who enjoy the L'Homme series. The aromatic and floral accents of geranium and neroli give Absolu a pleasant differentiation from Intense. Since Absolu isn't as dense as Intense, you can easily wear Absolu in the warm spring and summer months -- day or night; and for most any situation: (Office, Date-Night, Casual, Bar/Club). Particularly, if you want a "resinous spring-summer fragrance" that will amp up your swag appeal. Heads Up - performance and projection isn't a potent as Intense. Longevity will be around 6-8+ hours on most people, with decent sillage. Get yourself a bottle before they're gone! Overall: 8.5/10

This is extraordinary and honestly I'm glad it didn't take off and was discontinued. Took me ages to catch one and I will treasure my bottle for many years. A rich unctious take on the original thickened with cardamom sweetness and some of the PLHI heavy body, works out as much more wearable and less oppreaive than the Intense. Overshadowed by LNDLH this slipped under the radar but it's longer lasting and cleaner, dripping elegance and class - with a beautiful wrap on the bottle to suit. I love the original for being so completely multipurpose and smart, but Water Splash and this are an underappreciated absolute delight.

Count me as another who doesn't understand all the negative votes. This is a great fragrance and I 100% agree with those who say it's somewhere in between the original L'Homme and the Intense flanker. The blend of citruses and cardamom in the opening is probably my favorite part, though the classy and powdery iris in the drydown is excellent as well. Unfortunately I already have L'Homme Intense and with Absolu being a limited edition, I don't have much use for it. In a vacuum, though, this is a terrific fragrance and just as good as the others in the Prada L'Homme line.

I have all of the L'Homme line by Prada. The Intense is my favorite, hence it is my signature scent.... too bad its been discontinued, but I do have over 20oz so that should get me by for at least a decade. The original comes a very close second, then Absolu, L’eau and Water Splash. Absolu is a really good nighttime fragrance... but the problem is most people are going to prefer the original and Intense over it. 7/10 Great, but not as good as the OG and Intense.

I dont know why this is underrated .. this is one of the best perfume I have ever semlled and very unfortunate that they discontinued it . My second bottle in a row for my wife which loved it so much and keep asking me to wear it . Super for winter and fall with a casual suit . Updates :bought third bottles in a row and almost is gone everywhere .. grab a bottle whenever you find it عطري وتوقيعي الشخصي .. 3 زجاجات على التوالي و2 للامان العطري

This Prada L'Homme Absolu is seriously addictive! The spicy opening with the cardamom and black pepper really grabs you, then it softens into this beautiful iris and geranium heart. It lasts forever on my skin and I get compliments every time I wear it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sophisticated, masculine scent.

Don't understand the negative votes This is a wonderful mix between the "bright and fresh Original" and the "dark and spicy Intense". It's not uncreative, it's just filling a gap in the Prada l'homme line. Very versatile, easy to wear and pleasant. Best Prada l'homme for autumn and mediocre weather

Starts as a spicy Prada l'homme & and dries down as a more elegant/less zesty Dior Sauvage

This was released in dubai early September. I tried it but not very much impressed compared to the previous l'homme releases. It is like a slightly spicier alteration of prada l'homme intense + citrus. Dominant iris opening and dominant amber base. The original l'homme is still my favorite but despite it is a good fragrance by itself.

I actually have this and I’ll tell you this right now... I may be getting nose fatigue but I just don’t smell it after about 4 hours. Unlike Prada L’homme and Intense. Follow me on IG for more of my thoughts.

The entirety of the lhomme line is phenomenal. This sits in between the og and intense. A little closer to the og. Has just the right amount of sweetness and spice to go with that lovely soapy Iris.

On the initial spray, not sure why but I thought to my self perfume store. Maybe the sales person that works in the store I visit often wears this. It has a bright cardamom flowery sweet airy scent. The longer it stays on skin, the more the powdery and clean clothes smells intensifies. As it hits the further dry down, you get a little sweetness making it a powdery amber scent. I tried the OG Prada L'Homme before and that was very very light on me but this although smelling somewhat close has way more heft to it. I can see a connection to Galloway as well which is another really nice clean clothes scent. Performance wise, it has decent projection and the longevity on me. Way better than the OG was on my skin. Glad I got to try this hard to find perfume.

yeee, not worthy.. too much cardamon and spices

I like the Prada L'Homme line, so I was excited to try this one, even though I hear many bad things about it. Surely it's not that bad.... right? Ho-boy they were absolu-tely right. L'Homme Absolu is just not good. They ramped up the spices in this one and it ruins the elegant composition of the L'Homme line. Instead it become very harsh and each spray is akin to a toxic cloud invading your respiratory system. If I had asthma, this would probably trigger it. I really do try to like this, I gave it a few wears.... but I can't, it's just too much. Please guys, do yourself a favour and sample this before you buy!

Original L'Homme is 10 times better than this edition. It does not last long. The silage is poor and the scent does not smell as royal and expensive as original Prada L'Homme. I don't know who are these people saying on social media that this edition is better than the original one. Smell sample and you will understand the truth.

To me: the best in the L'homme trio series. Apparently this one is a limited edition, which I find ludicrous. But I guess it's just another illogical decision made amongst the designer market. Anyhow, I always thought the original EDT was lovely, but the problem I had with it - was that it felt a bit too feminine and much better suited for women. While the Intense version managed to fix this problem by making it darker, after a few wearings, the amount of Tonka became just too much for me. Simply too loud, too sweet and cloying. With Absolu, the problems I had with the Intense version have been rectified. Its basically a toned down version of the Intense, without the Tonka and leather. Instead of leather - cedar and labdanum are used to provide a similar vibe and instead of a heavy dose of tonka, you get Amber which makes Absolu warm but not overly stickily sweet. All in all, go for this one if you love the Intense but dislike it's cloyingness.

At the first comment the day that Fragrantica published this item I wrote can’t wait to smell it and now I have it . My honest review: It’s absolutely between Prada L’Homme And L’Homme intense! 60-70% in intense side that difficult to understand after 1 hour which one is on your skin (intense or absolu)... that lipsticky vibe just touchable in this version not in original and not in intense! But that lipsticky feel will disappear fast (5-10 minutes) and some how something between those fragrances that mentioned will be at the drydown... if you are into dark fragrances and you want enjoy even in summer darks it’s absolutely stunning example. I believe it’s not strong enough for winter so I will go by this one or original for summer spring and by intense for winter and fall.. performance is ok but not a beast... if you like any of them in the line this is absolutely your future love. This is the best Prada perfume I've ever smelled. Perfectly blends the soapy DNA prominent in most Prada perfumes, especially amber pour homme, with the LNDLH cardamom DNA to make this amazing concoction that smells like an extremely expensive niche soap. Smells much more interesting than amber PH which smells like straight white soap. L'homme is too bright and irisy for my liking and L'homme intense is the typical thick makeupy Iris style like DHI which I don't care much for. Iris is more of a background character in this compared to the other L'homme flankers. This is closest to Armani eau de nuit. Eau de nuit lacks the soapiness and is a bit darker smelling. Both of these are my absolute favourites in the iris perfumes genre and I'm always shocked at the lack of attention both of them get. I'd pick the prada over the Armani.

After finishing a 5ML sample... It has Prada l' homme's DNA with the added mandarin, amber, and very slight cardamom. I find this scent to be a close smell to Prada amber pour home intense. But, this is miles better than the latter one because it has a warmth to it. Amber pour homme intense smells like an abandoned 5-star hotel decored all around with black Italian marbles. This smells like a proper fragrance. Overall, this is a great fragrance just not my style. Projection: 8/10 (First 4 hours awesome projection, 3 hours soft projection, 5 hours skin scent but you still get whiffs of it here and there. Then it completely disappears. P.S. I spray 5-6 sprays on my neck every time.) Sillage: 7/10 Longevity:10/10 (Freaking amazing) The whole prada l'homme line is fantastic, from here on all that matters is if YOU like it.

I have worn this a couple days now, and so far I am disappointed. Spicy notes added to the original, but they are not strong enough and do not last long enough. The original dna is muted, weakened. Don't get me wrong, it is there, but it is very quiet, hollow. This dries down to a dry spice, a touch creamy, but watery if that makes sense. I need to try more, but so far this does not hold a candle to any of the other 3. Projection and sillage is low as well. Intense is far more "absolu" than this one ever could hope to be. I am hoping it grows on me, but so far I wish i did not purchase this. Love the bottle but the juice disappoints aside from the first 5 minutes.

This is fantastic. I love the L'Homme line, I own original, L'Eau, and Water Splash. I hated Intense and gave it away. I tried so hard to like Intense but it was cloying and gave me a headache. I gambled on a blind buy of this and I am very very pleased. To me, Absolu is Intense if I could handle it and thought it smelled good (if that makes sense). Absolu is what I was hoping Intense would be (a slightly darker, spicer version). I definitely sense the original dna here but to me this a whole different fragrance. It does sit between L'Homme and L'Homme Intense, but that is the sweet spot for me. It is sensual, classy, a little mysterious, fresh yet dark.

I definitely agree with the ones saying this sits between the EDT and Intense. Retains that fresh, powdery iris from the EDT, while some light spicy and sweetened mandarin and ambery notes are added. I slightly prefer this one over the Intense flanker as the blend here is just a bit better. The iris is still present but is enhanced by mostly cardamom, mandarin, and amber. The performance could be better in my opinion but despite that it's probably the second best after the regular L'Homme. Can be worn year round. Overlooked indeed. 8/10

There’s nothing cheap and common to be found from Prada in general and the L’Homme line in particular. Daniela Andrier did Prada proud with the Luna Rossa and L’Homme lines. I don’t have much experience with Prada’s exclusive/privé scents, so I can’t offer an informed opinion on them, but I’ll wager they also do the brand justice. I’ve recommended Absolu before and I’ll do it again. Others described it better than I could, so suffice to say this one’s a stunner.

I just got a 8ml sample of this from maxaroma and this is great, people are saying it weak but just one spray on arm and my girl noticed it when i walked in the room. Longevity is also good, i can still smell it on my arm after 7 hours. Its very similar to the originals but more like a fusion of the two. Its very sexy and elegant. I can see being worn at a party or date. I would not wear it casually because its fancy. I rate it 9/10.

My brother got it when his Kilian Intoxicated perfume finished and we were in the middle of the vacation so he had to chose from the duty free selection. He got this Prada perfume and it was so funny to watch because he got so many girls stopping and giving him a compliment for the perfume and asking what is it. He was laughing that it’s quite fortunate because i/ much cheaper then Kilian but gets as much attention

Really overlooked and underrated. In my opinion, this is the best in the L'homme line with Intense coming in a pretty close second. Definitely more of a cool weather fragrance with the spicy and sweet notes. The cardamom is very prominent and smells fantastic. They don't smell alike but Absolu is like the La Nuit de L'homme of the Prada L'homme line.

A true flanker. If you wish the original L’Homme had a little more depth, and the Intense is just *too* intense, then Absolu is for you. It pulls from both ends but it definitely has its own character. It’s a beauty and to my nose it’s definitely worth having alongside L’Homme and L’Homme Intense.

This is a solid fragrance. In between the original and Intense with added spice. Intense isn’t for me too iris based. Looks like this will last on me too, just picked it up today.

tried it here at Sephora Saudi Arabia. hotel shower gel, enough said. on a side note though, did Prada hire an Intercontinental employee to become the nose of this one?

Can’t wait to sniff it I’m absolutely satisfied than L’homme and L’homme intense... I hope I can find same feelings here too
