Prada L’Homme Water Splash

Lovely rhapsody on the theme of Prada L'Homme. I am a big fan of the Prada L'Homme line. I owned and loved the original, wearing about half of a 100ml bottle until it tragically tumbled from my shelf and broke, making my room smell luxuriously clean and powdery for a long while afterwards. I have tried L'Homme Intense on a number of occasions and plan on purchasing it at some point. But it was Water Splash which drew my eye when I was on the hunt for a new grabber for the warm weather. I won't deny that 90% of my reasoning for picking this one up was the bottle, which is super dope. The remaining 10% was because of my love for the original, and because I managed to grab a 5.1oz bottle for ~$50, give or take. It is no surprise that I love this one, given my affection for the original and for iris fragrances in general, and I think that if you like iris or the original Prada L'Homme, this is a safe blind buy. I haven't smelt Prada L'Homme L'Eau, so I can't speak to its similarities with Water Splash, but suffice it to say that most of the fragrances in the line are variations on one another, except for Intense. Anyway, Water Splash has that smooth, warm, clean, soapy vibe of the original, but freshened up. I'd say the primary difference between this one and the original are: this one has a more lipsticky iris vibe à la Dior Homme in the opening which was absent in the original; there is ginger, coupled with citrus (not listed), that provides a bit of zing; and the Mandarin leaf/petitgrain gives this a greener, more bitter, and more herbal vibe. If the OG Prada L'Homme was orientated towards the office and indoor spaces, Water Splash feels airier and more outdoorsy. Mind you, this is not some frontier adventure sort of scent. This takes me to a terrace of an Italian villa where you relax languidly in a wicker chair beneath the shade of orange trees in your oatmeal linen Mao collar shirt, bermudas, and jute espadrilles. The indoors is not very far away, and with the stirring of the breeze you occasionally feel a waft of cool ACified air from the open French doors leading out onto the terrazza. You thought that you had turn the maid to turn it off when the doors were open, but oh well, you have money to spare. There is a laid back, relaxed vibe about Water Splash, whereas the original was a bit more buttoned up. Both are pretty versatile scents, though, and well suited to warmer weather. Water Splash is just even more suited to warmer weather. The drydown goes deliciously creamy and luscious, a warm, cozy, and inviting skin scent that lasts for a good while. Performance is not amazing, but better than you might think. 5-6 sprays last me for about 6-7 hours, especially if you spray on clothes. The projection is always moderate, but detectable, and keeps up for around an hour before dying down to the skin. This isn't, and was never intended to be, a beast mode kind of a scent, so I'm fine with that performance. This is intended for relaxing around the house or running errands on a warm summer's day, and should be just enough to last you until night falls, and you spray something else on before quitting your luxurious villa and going out for a night on the achingly beautiful Tyrrhenian seaside town. Overall I'm quite pleased with my purchase of Water Splash, and will be wearing it often in the upcoming summer. This is exactly the kind of vibe I like to give off: calm, cool, clean, elegant, relaxed, cozy, and inviting. I think it's easily unisex too. Wear this with white linen and an air of sprezzatura and you'll be golden. I might not be a relentlessly handsome Italian stallion that summers along the Mediterranean coast, but by god I can pretend to be. 8.5 beige linen suits/10

A very fresh and soapy vibes fragrance. Ideal hit for summer in the office and beach as well. Btw to me it smells a bit like suntan oil lol... As for a summer scent longevity is pretty good , I get around 5h. Unfortunatelly projecion could be slightly better. Within first hour it's just okay but later it sits down close to skin. Bear in mind that you will have to reapply it through the day, probably a few times. But i guess thats the drill of summer scents... It's a bit odd because I cet better performance on my skin rather than my clothes... The scent is so versitale I can imagine it being worn by a guy in a suit or just a boy on the beach. The composition smells so complex and yet so simple and flat. It barely changes in time. I'm just getting to know different smells and here it's very hard to separte the notes from each other, the whole just smells superb. I really Like the bottle, they did a really good job on putting some funky art to make it more summerish. Although the original l'homme bottle I find quite boring, but thath probably the way it should be. The biggest advantage here is the price, I got my 150ml bottle for 40€, which is a really decent price for such a versitale and yet high quality scent. If you're looking for a summer scent and you don't like citrusses, you won't find anything better.

I was lucky enough to score a 5.1oz bottle from a seller on eBay for a decent price. I haven’t seen it anywhere else online or in stores yet. I checked the batch code and it was produced in February of 2019 so I know it’s legit. I’ve worn it a couple days now and feel I can give an honest review. I have become a huge fan of the l’homme line and this one is no exception. To simplify things, this is a lighter, fresher and more soapy Prada L’homme, which I believe was the intention here and they nailed it! I will also mention, performance has not been sacrificed one bit. It’s nearly identical in performance to the original l’homme, which for me is very good. 6-7 hours longevity with 2 sprays and moderate projection for 4-5 hours before becoming a skin scent for the rest of it’s duration. Not bad for a summer freshie! The notes I can identify the most are iris, neroli, ginger, cardamom and amber (in that order with iris being the most intensive). Overall a very solid release by Prada once again. Maybe a bit redundant if it’s similar to l’homme l’eau but I have not smelled that one so I can’t say for sure. All I know is if you want to smell super clean and soapy like you just stepped out of the shower, I recommend you give this one a try.

This is spot on my fragrance style as possible can be. Prada's cooperation with Daniela Andrier is the best thing ever happened in the fragrance world, according to me. One masterpiece after the other. The common denominator is the beautiful soapy elegance, that combines something nostalgic and simple with sophistication that bursts the scale. This Water Splash edition of L'Homme is no exception. It's similar to the other L'Hommes (especially L'eau), but I just love everything about this Water Splash edition. Not least the bottle & box design, which is so beautiful, scent representative and mysteriously playful. I cannot unsee that the blue iris petals look like sneak peaking sheet ghosts :). Probably not intentionally, but it makes me love the visual design even more. The scent is the most beautiful sun screen lotion / after sun lotion scent one could possibly imagine. Of course with the mandatory iris signature and sophistication spell form.

This was a love at first sniff for me. I Love it. I know this is meant to shine in the heat and humidity, but I think this is fantastic as an everyday wear if you work indoors. Light, airy, slightly powdery and some nice touches of amber and woods in the dry down. Not a beast by any stretch, but I am surprised just how long lasting this is for freshie EDT. This is a perfect pickup for someone looking for something a bit different from your typical citrus fresh fragrances. Classy, refreshing and understated - could work in almost any situation. Like most of this line, the price seems to be rising and supply seems to be shrinking. I wish I was a year or two earlier - stocking up would have been much cheaper - but so glad I found it. 4/5.

Love the Prada L'homme line but it's very hard to find and expensive in my country. So I bought Water Splash and boy I wasn't disappointed. It still has the OG DNA but it's fresher and lighter (The Ginger I think), which I actually prefer more than the OG. I've sampled most of the line and Leau does smell the most similar. Lots of reviews saying this has poor longevity but on my skin it perfoms similar to the OG, projection and sillage is a bit lower than the OG tho. Still I love Water Spalsh because it smells so invigorating and uplifting. A 10/10 for me, an awesome scent and hopefully Prada doesn't discontinue this. P/S - Ajmal Evoke Gold edition is a very good clone of Prada L'homme, have this one also and absolutely love it.

This was my boyfriends' all time favorite fragrance since past 2 years. I don’t know what he loves more about it but I certainly loved this one on him. To me, the gingery citrusy feel is quite pleasant herein. The top notes are Neroli, Cardamom, and Mandarin Leaf; the middle notes are iris and Ginger; base notes are Sandalwood, Amber, and Cedar. I love the spiciness and the astringent kind of smell in it and because this is not that overpowering or headache-causing sweet, I love it even more. Typically, a freshness bomb that is perfect for summer days, a perfect one for humid, hot days. The freshness here is classy and clean. I would call it as my favorite all time summer juice.

Just picked a bottle of this up. I’m not a huge fan of iris, but this one is better than dior homme iris imo. Not as lipsticky- which is a good thing- not a fan of smelling like grandma’s purse. Anyway, this iris is noticeable, but lighter. The powder is subdued in a bleu electrique fashion with the ginger and cardamom as similar notes, but this is a much fresher take. Smells super fresh and soapy, and will be a banger this summer in a white shirt. Can’t wait to wear it in the summer heat and humidity! So far very likable. Will update on what my wife thinks once I am safe to bring it out of hiding😅😂.

This, like Prada L'Homme, is happiness in a bottle. This brings a smile to my face everytime I smell it. Its bright, fresh, and frankly, its one of the best colognes on the planet imo. Its such a shame it does not last as long as L'Homme does. But, if you are a fan of the DNA, its still a great buy because it is cheaper, and lately seems to be easier to come by. They got rid of the masterpiece Prada Intense, are they getting rid of the masterpiece original L'Homme as well? God I hope not. 9/10 Almost perfect. Highly recommended.

I actually have no clue how people say this is weak juice. Watersplash is a real headscratcher for me. Its obviously marketed as a summery aquatic but it actually has insane sillage and strong longevity for a freshie and especially aquatic. The sillage rating seems to mirror that. The scent turns sweet/slightly woody/ambery on me in the drydown which makes it almost too heavy to wear in real heat. I love the scent, think its the best Prada L'Homme in the line and I got for €40/150ml. It's a banger.

If you are a fan of the Prada DNA then this is a great buy. Does it smell very close to L’Eau? Yes. Smells very close to the original L’Homme as well to me. Longevity is about the same as the others so I don’t understand why some people say it doesn’t last long. It’s still pretty cold where I live right now so I can’t wait to wear this during the much hotter months. I’m going to stock up on this just in case they discontinue it like they did the intense version. 9/10 - Excellent summer freshie.

This, IMO, is the best designer fragrance that no one talks about. At least for the warmer weather. The Intense is one of my favorites for the colder weather, and I'm glad I jumped on the opportunity to get this on a good deal secondhand. Fresh, spicy ginger and iris mix. Safe enough to wear to the office, seductive enough to wear to a date night on the beach. I really have no idea why this isn't talked about more, as I think it's just about perfect. 10/10

Definitely smells like a lighter version of the original L'homme, it's just a little weaker. Smells borderline identical in terms of scent but this just doesn't project as much nor last as long. Got a 150ml from fragrance net for ~$55 and it's going to get a ton of wearing this summer. You can go heavy on the trigger here with no risk of offending anyone. If you like the original, this is absolutely a blind-buy safe warm weather replacement.

Fantastic. The best one in the L'Homme series. It's airy, refreshing, silky, smooth and clean all at the same. Its practically everything I wanted the original to be, minus the sweet elements. My only problem is that it only comes in a ridiculous 5.1 ounce bottle which is a bit unnecessary as this performs relatively well. This will more than likely be replacing my Acqua Di Iris.Its overall a cross of Prada Amber and L'homme.

Similar to OG and more identical to L'Eau. However, it does not perform that good. this scent is like a cologne that you can use while walking around in a resort or a scent before going to bed in summer nights. despite the 150 ml bottle of water splash, if you can find a similar deal with OG and L'eau, better go with those 2 if you want performance. they are still good and pleasant in summer heat.

This is summer by the beach. It opens with a citrus and iris with a burst of ginger. It then dries down to a powdery iris and amber scent with a kind of of sea salt oceanic vibe. Slight hints of cardamom and ginger, but why I get is the sea salt and powdery iris. Overall you can’t go wrong with this for a summer freshie. No major wow factor so overall 7/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Another masterpiece from Prada. It is very very similar to L'eau (almost identical). Personally, I would rather wear L'eau because it performs better. However, this fragrance is a lot cheaper, so I guess it's still worth getting if you don't have L'eau. It's redundant to own both imo (unless you collect Prada or something).

Love it, love the bottle, love that it's lighter on the iris which is probably why I love it more than L'Homme. It has such a great summery feel to it, with that little touch of cedar I get blended in, love it. Becoming one of my favorites. I also scored a 5.1 bottle off ebay for a killer price, legit bottle. Great scent.

What if L'Homme was gingery? A little cardamom softens it into a wet fresh zingy alternative that I enjoy more than the original, even though that is more multipurpose. Reach for this every spring and it's a delight. Again like the Absolu I'm happy it's been discontinued so I can enjoy this without smelling it elsewhere

So sad this is discontinued. Just used my final sprays. BUT I finally found a clone house that makes and I just got a bottle. Unbelievable!!! AZ Perfumes Palithis No 5. Shocked how good this is!!! Will be testing performance of this Extrait but may need time as clones typically do, which is no big deal.

all freshies smell alike but this one not. get this if you wanna smell different from everyone else in summer. good projection. people can totally smell you. indoors i would recommend only 2 sprays. on my skin this stays even longer than L’homme. nobody will dislike this smell. safe blind buy.

Opens with a blast of orange neroli, fresh and clean. The Sandalwood and the iris create a stylish backbone and the ginger and cardamon provide a gentle spice. The dry down is ozonic from the mandarin leaf and resinous from the amber. Not great longevity, but perfect for hot summer days.

Fantastic fragrance, that was once available for a great price. It's similar to Prada L'homme L'Eau, but it's not quite as good. L'Eau is the best scent in the line for warm weather, but if you can't get it, this one does a good job. I get good longevity and projection.

It smells amazing but I can barely tell the difference between Water Splash and L'Homme L'Eau. The drydown is virtually indistinguishable but the price difference is vast. Absolutely no need to pay more for Water Splash since L'Homme L'Eau costs much less.

This is easily the best perfume I’ve ever worn. It starts off fresh, then transitions into a luxurious iris floral scent. It’s slightly powdery but not too much. Totally easy on my nose. The scent feels elegant, and the longevity is amazing.

I tested all L'homme Prada yesterday, here's my take: 1. Regular: I own this one - Performance is strong on this one, the sweetness of the amber is not really playful. It is a sober, luxurious, clean smell. Given the lack of playfulness that the scent has, I would categorize it for a +30 man. I sometimes use it for work, but even there it doesn't feel like a right fit. Might work as a spring summer evening scent for a younger guy. 2. L'eau: PERFECT. It's the younger, blue version of Prada l'homme. It is blue to me because the sweetness here is playful and it is a bit fresher, specially in the opening. It does share a little bit resemblance with Reflection Man. Performance not as good, but I can imagine once I buy this, compliments will be through the roof!! I would use it for work environments mostly. Daily wear when dressed up a lil bit. 3. Water Splash: just think of this as a cologne. Think of it as the 'Dior Homme Cologne' version of this line, the 4711. The ginger + citrus leaves makes this one more astringent and spicier. It is a lot less sweet than the previous two, and fresher (but not on a blue scale - more on a white scale if that makes sense). Just as the other colognes I mentioned, this one is just for relaxing on a summer day, running errands, just being with yourself. This is an EdT though. Not really sexy or alluring, just fresh and to the point. 4. Absolu - I just can't understand this one sorry 5. Intense - Delicious. Wet patchouli and a leathery iris at the beginning. Quite mysterious. People say it's super formal but I beg to digress - it's just a darker scent that you can wear during the night time. Bruce Wayne would spray 4 clicks of this before putting the dark knight suit. To me, this is a little bit redundant to Bottega Extreme that I already own so don't really need it. In the air it's still fresh - sillage is similar than regular L'homme Prada, just stronger. I guess that the sillage is more complex than regular L'homme as the scent evolves.

TL;DR: Super clean, juicy fresh! Not great longevity... All of the fragrances in the L'Homme line smell very similar, but there's something sweet-ish about the original, and especially the Intense version, that somehow turns a little bit sour and cloying on my skin... That slightly cloying sour sweetness is already turned way down in the L'Eau version (which is my favorite in the line), but here in Water Splash it's turned down even more. Like L'Eau and the original, this is soft and floral, very clean and fresh, and has a subtle sweetness, but in Water Splash it's also balanced against a bit of citrusy vibes from the ginger and mandarin. In fact, the listed notes here aren't quite correct... According to the official Prada page, there's actually no Iris in this one. No Amber or Cardamom either. And it's not Mandarin Leaf, it's actual Mandarin. The only drawback with Water Splash is that, even though the opening is super fresh, clean and even juicy (and very similar to L'Eau!), the fragrance changes quite a lot in the drydown and it becomes very simplistic. The juicy freshness goes away, and only a few notes remain... Even on clothes, basically only the ginger is left after a few hours. So while this is slightly less sweet and a bit more fresh than L'Eau - which is already super fresh! - I think L'Eau has a much better drydown and feels more complex and interesting overall.

If you have not smelled the L'Homme line, this is a reasonably safe blind buy (albeit a bit boring). Unlike other "white floral" fragrances, this does not smell like common cleaners / sheets / soaps. Compared to something like Amouage Reflection, this is a lot smoother and cozier. The notes prevent it from being too sweet, too spicy, or too powdery unlike some others. To me, the original LH smells like gold and purple, and feels warm. Water Splash is a lukewarm white in comparison. They share a similar opening, but as LH deepens and becomes warmer, spicy notes hold Water Spash back. It does not approach the same depth (sparkly / spicy / amber) as LH. In terms of use case - this works in situations where LH may smell a bit cloying (hot, sweaty weather). It remains bright and clean for the entire duration, while maintaining the same feel of the original. It smells great but it does not catch attention, and is not a compliment puller. Similar to the original in that regard. Very safe office smell, or relaxed summer weather. Suitable as a young man's white floral.

Woman here :) I confess that I bought both Prada La Femme and L'Homme Water Splash mostly drawn by the packaging and by a very good bargain that I found online. I had tried both in person only once and liked them both for different reasons. I don't own Prada La Femme/L'Homme l'Eau but I have tested both and they do seem very similar to the Water Splash versions to my nose. I am currently wearing L'Homme Water Splash on one arm and La Femme WS on my other arm. Where the feminine version is floral and green, in a light, uncomplicated way, the male version is warmer and powdery, with a subtle hint of spice and a drop of neroli. I find this fragrance totally unisex, if not a little bit leaning on the feminine side, I love it! It would work well in all seasons, maybe a tad too sweet/warm for summer daytime, IMO. It's casual but also elegant, young, with an interesting (though moderate) evolution. It has moderate sillage for maybe 1/2hrs and then lasts for many hours as a pleasant skin smell. The 150ml bottle is beautiful!

Summertime Iris. L'Homme Water Splash (LHWS) is the original L'Homme with a fresh twist. LHWS retains the powdery, floral iris note of the original & builds around it. Neroli adds a fresh, green, & bitter smell. Then ginger adds light fresh spiciness to it. Powdery, clean, fresh, floral, bitter, green, lightly-spicy. Fans of the original well definitely like this one as a summer alternative to OG L'Homme. If you are a fan of the original & you love neroli, then this is a must try! You'll love this! Personally, I like this one even more than the original. I wish it was even fresher with a water or a citrus note added. However, I think neroli probably works best with L'Homme floral core. A great summer/spring time wear with good performance. However, it might not be very suitable for very hot days. Big "Like".

Smelled the cap on this at lunchtime in store (and I was actually wearing Prada L'homme today as it happened), it smells VERY similar to L'Homme to my nose. I'm sure must be lighter since in comes in 150ml bottle for similar price, it implies that you're going to be dousing yourself in it. But i honestly couldn't tell any difference when going from one bottle to the other. And the bottle is very cool in person. Didn't want to try on skin because already had something else on each hand.

When it comes to the Prada L'Homme line it is basically like trying to identify shades of gray. I can always tell if the fragrances is one of the Prada L'Homme line but not always which one. As for Water Splash, it is noticeably weaker on skin but projects rather well and lasts for hours when sprayed on my t-shirt. I find this to be an attractive fragrance and a nice alternative to the more common citrus and aquatic summer fragrances. Decently priced as well.

This is silly, I can't differentiate this from Prada L'eau at all.. Maybe they wish they had used the name Water Splash instead of L'eau..

A more powdery version of the OG with a lipstick overtone. Powder somewhere between the OG and L'Homme Intense. Good, middle of the mall quality.

I can't believe that after all this time, I'm still the first to post a negative review of this fragrance. (Well, more or less...) I was very interested in it at first, because spring and summer colognes are my jam, and I heard that this is a much less powdery and more summery version of Prada l'Homme. Since I'm not at all a fan of powdery fragrances, I thought this would be THE Prada l'Homme flanker that I could actually wear. Nope. Whilst it is true that this one is indeed less powdery than the original, I find the ginger and cardamom too pungent. I got eyesore just wearing a couple sprits of this. Maybe I'm sensitive to spices, but then again, one of my favourite fragrances is Bvlgari Blv, which is a gingerbomb, and I've never had problems with it (my parents do, though - they hate Bvlgari Blv for some reason.) Somehow this Prada l'Homme Water Splash is too much for me. It gets into and through my nose, right into my olfactory receptors. It also clings on the skin for quite a long time; not as long as the original, but longer than I expected. Sillage is good in the first three quarters of an hour. After this one and the original, I've given up on the entire Prada l'Homme line. It just doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Still, I'd recommend it to someone who: 1. Is a Prada l'Homme collector/lover. 2. Likes the original Prada l'Homme, but wants it to have more spice and less powder. 3. Loves to collect Italian godfather-on-vacation bottles. Not sure if it's worth owning if you already own l'Homme l'Eau, though. A lot of people say they're 98-99% similar.

This is quite a bitter fragrance to me. The top starts off spicy and fresh, after about 30mins, it dries down to be clean and ginger smelling. Not a bad scent, but it isn't something that's mass pleasing. The note of neroli and ginger in it that makes me feel it's quite bitter and can be off putting in the dry down. Not blind buy safe. The sillage and projection is below average. The dry down is really quite different, try to see if you like it first on your skin. I did a full wear down and scrubbed it off when it was drying down, that bitterness even hit my taste bud and was off putting.

It smells very generic, something like a local brand would sell for $6-10. Try going to tropical countries, you'd smell something like this, like the ones many Junior and Senior High School students wear. Based on the rating and reviews I had high hopes for this, but this turned out to be a huge letdown. Sorry. 5/10

Really underwhelming. The only good thing is the bottle. This is a mass produced cologne which is so blah and smells like an air freshener. Very synthetic, very boring, what is the point? Prada perfumes are almost always disappointing.

Here is a quick glance review for people curious about this scent: Water Splash is L'Eau re-bottled. Long review: I have a mini bottle of L'Eau and have tested it and Water Splash side by side in many different ways to try and see if there was a notable difference. But as hard as I try, I cannot classify them as two separate fragrances. The difference I smell, which is extremely subtle, is akin to batch variations from any brand (within a year or two of eachother). Water Splash is, without doubt, a re-bottle of L'Eau. This is not uncommon for Prada, they did the same thing with the L'Homme Velvet Edition. Velvet was identical to the original L'Hommme, just with a different bottle aesthetic wrap/box and a MUCH higher price tag (and exclusivity). It is unfortunate Prada simply re-bottled/boxed L'Eau for Water Splash, as I had high hopes I could get a similar high-end soapy style scent but with more "watery/aquatic" nuances. In my mind I was expecting something like a "pool-side" Prada L'Homme L'Eau that was less harsh and more watery/airy. Something I could apply liberally and feel refreshed. But Water Splash is quite strong, harsh and sharp on the nose, just like L'Eau is. It's also just as strong and long-lasting, despite being sold only in a 150ml bottle. The Water Splash bottle and juice color is really beautiful though. It truly looks like a fragrance that could have had an awesome lightweight summertime pool-side soapy vibe to it. And the price is pretty reasonable for being 150ml/brand new ($75 USD seems to be pretty common now). If you wait a few months for this to hit discounters, you could possibly be able to get a 150ml Water Splash bottle for $50 or less. L'Eau right now is going for around $65 for 100ml on discounters, so Water Splash is already at a better price point (per ml, at full introductory price) than L'Eau is when discounted. Bottom line: If you love L'Eau, and perhaps don't own a bottle but want a lot of it, go for Water Splash. It is decently priced for the size. But if you have smelled L'Eau and don't care for it, or already have a bottle, then you should avoid Water Splash.
