Vanilla Orchid

Deliciously rich, creamy, almost lactonic vanilla and fig is what I get on my skin. This is more gourmandish than I thought it would be, but I’m not mad about it. It’s a cozy, comfy scent that’s not TOO sugary—there’s something green in there to make it so. I don’t quite know what the fantasy note “vanilla orchid” smells like besides in this and the much more saccharine and teen-oriented Cloud by Ariana Grande, and while that one note is similar between the two here, in Vanilla Orchid it’s much more sophisticated, floral, and has a woodiness to it. In short, it smells natural and embraces the wearer like a warm hug. Definitely a romantic and sensual scent. Lies closer to the skin but lasts over 7 hours for me. Yum. I think I need this one. EDIT: A blanket I was cozily lounging in while wearing this maintained an air of the scent for several days. 😮 It was great. WHAT is in Precious Liquids? The quality of ingredients is mind-boggling.

Indeed, Oil and perfume does delight the heart – but this fragrance touched mine. It is breathtakingly beautiful. It is unisex and unifying; the natural sweetness of vanilla is enhanced and masterfully blended with the other luxurious notes to create a masterpiece that is ideal for most seasons. If faith, hope and love are senses of inspiration; then this scent evokes these feelings. 4.28/5

This is a very creamy fruity vanilla perfume. The vanilla in here is very good quality because it smells balsamic, especially in the opening of the perfume. The vanilla orchid smells so realistic just like the living flower or at least how I imagine what a vanilla orchid would smell like. I have smelled different types of orchids in a hot house and some of them are super sweet. This reminds me of those. Very pretty. The fig is creamy, almost date like. This comes close to being gourmand but pulls back because of the orchid note which keeps it floral. All of these perfumes from this house are well blended and create an overall feeling of a certain mood or place. This would be a great date night perfume. I think this is going on my want shelf as well.

This can be a two word review: delicious... delicious! But... I should also say that I have several vanillas I like so I would not have searched high and low for another. Also... this was a freebie and the orchid name would normally have sent me packing, so I would not have tried it on purpose. And yet... I will absolutely get another sample and may have to have more after that. It is just different from all the hundreds of other things I've tried, and that's worth SO much...

Green fig smells like coconut. At least that was what was said on a little card sent with a free sample of Sage Machado's Peridot with my order. I wouldn't know, but the card explained that green fig had been used in the making of that fragrance and that it often smells like coconut. And that is what I am getting here. Yet just as in Peridot, it is not exactly coconut. But you could believe that coconut had been used if you didn't smell it deeply to distinguish the difference. And on smelling deeply, yes, it does smell like fig after all. As for this fragrance, I am not a fan of the vanilla used here. I know it is supposed to be vanilla orchid, but though I've never had the chance to smell one either in nature or a greenhouse, I don't believe vanilla orchids are this sweet and sugary. I've also smelled that note in other perfumes and it doesn't smell the way it does here. There is also something underlying this fragrance, almost like the smell of latex, that I am having difficulty with and while I was hoping that note would eventually disappear, it persisted throughout the life of the scent. Not what I want to smell or smell like, so this is a pass for me.

A vanilla coconut, there are so many like it. If you like the combination then please try Comptoir Sud Pacifique because they excel in this genre and it's dirt cheap. In here, there is nothing of real interest. Like many other Precious Liquid perfumes it does what it says on the bottle. But there is nothing precious about it for me, I find it very mediocre. I think the house got well known and liked because their samples are easy to get and they give freebies to influencers.

No no no. It’s so heavy and I got the coconut vibe which is actually listed as fig. I let it dry down for 20 minutes and it was marginally better but, scrubber. Personally I can’t stand it. I received a sample with a purchase.

This one is a sweet, woody and fruity vanilla. I also get coconut from it, I think it's good for all seasons. It actually reminds me of In The Stars from bath and body works as it has a similar latex quality. I've never sampled BR 540 so I don't know if this has any similarity to that at all.

There's something salty on me. I wonder if it's just aromatic note that combined with something else gives that saltiness. Fig is creamy here. There's something that is not appealing to me in this fragrance. Fig + davana = definitely not my favorite notes combination. It's a pass for me.

Syrupy sweet. No woodiness detected. Benzoin heavy.. plum.. fig. Vanilla is an afterthought. Linear. Nothing special but if you like it sweet this may suit you. ✨
