Cuir Nappa

Black leather jacket opening, transforms into something broadly sweet and broadly floral on me. Not a specific sweetness or a specific flower (to my nose). Then checking the notes, sure, raspberry makes a lot of sense, and rose, yeah I suppose I smell that too. Later I get more muskiness supported by a phantom vanilla. Like, it's not actually vanilla, but how the other elements come together reminds me of a muted, powdery vanilla. On my skin, very little suede stays past the first hour. The drydown is kind of what I hoped I'd get from Montale's Intense Cafe: rose with an enigmatic edgy sweetness. I wouldn't say they're similar, but Cuir Nappa does remind me of Intense Cafe, except where the musk in IC went stale and sour on me, CN maintains the scent profile throughout.

Based on the first sniff (and second), no full wearings yet, for me, this has a fruity floral opening for the first few minutes. Then, it quickly shifts to dark powdery leather. What makes it attractive to me is that the leather isn't comparable to your Tuscan Leathers, Ombre Leathers, or those oriental leathers such as Cuoium, Memo's leathers, or any leather I've smelled before, it truly gives off that suede vibe. The powdery aspect gives life to that suede texture. A couple of hours later it seems to transition to a musk scent, lightly floral, lightly powdery, but mainly musky.
