9 Alchemist

Yes, this is a perfume! You are still on the correct page! From the French perfumehouse Prima Materia, here is 09 Alchemist. Just wow! Look at this sculpture! I could write pages about the many details of this perfume bottle! Scroll if you want to see more photos! So many details, it's incredible! Within this sculpture there is a 14mL bottle, which can be taken out. This sculpture comes with 5 of these 14mL bottles, so 70mL in total. Well, let's talk about the perfume! Topnotes include mandarin, cherry and incense. Middle is rose, lily and leather. The base is tobacco, sandalwood and musk. It opens up really strong with a cloud of incense and woody aspects. Perhaps I'm that impressed by the sculpture that I immediately transport myself into a Middle-Age room where an alchemist is cooking up a formula. The mysterious aroma's inside an glas bottle cooking over a fire of woods. The opening of this perfume is smoky and woody. The woods are so intense that I first thought there was oud in it, however it isn't mentioned in the note breakdown. The opening reminds me of the opening of Amouage's Memoir, only because I am also writing a review about this one. They also share the notes incense, leather, tobacco, sandalwood and musk, so no wonder the smoky opening smells the same. However after the strong opening of both, they both go into a different direction. Here is where I love this perfume! The cherry with leather and tobacco! So smooth and slightly sweet. In this stage it resembles Guerlain's L'Homme Idéal EDP, one of my most beloved designer perfumes. However 09 Alchemist is much more. It is darker and smokier with the literal cherry on top! For me this perfume has been executed perfectly! Prima Materia, the first matter, the start of the transmutation from normal metal to precious metals, performed by the Alchemist! This perfume transmutates from a smoky dark woody perfume to a smooth cherry sexy scent!
