Aran

I have not tried Aranyaka so I can only comment on Aran, but I find this fairly impressive. If the intention was to create a perfectly natural smelling forest-facsimile fragrance, full of soil and various flora and fauna aromas, then I would consider this somewhat of a failure. But as an avant-garde scent without preconceived connotations, this is wonderful. The animalic notes within Aran are boldly in-your-face, and pushed to such an extreme degree that they create a gasoline-like accord. The futuristic sheen of many "synthetic" accords in other avant-garde post modern CDG-synthetic-series-esque fragrances is completely absent, and in it's place sits earthy-notes and dirty, scratchy resins. As such, the forest clearing that Aran represents to my nose is not deep into the woods and devoid of the meddling of man, but instead is one in the middle of being logged, with trucks hauling away felled lumber and searing-hot saws sizzling tree sap off of their slowing blades. It's smoky, rubbery, dense, caustic, a touch metallic and very very interesting. Certainly a pleasant wear for lovers of the strange. The more I try Prin's work the more I wonder why he hasn't really garnered the same doting fans that a Russian Adam or a Josh Lobb has, but I guess he is a newer perfumer and he has a lot of work spread across a shockingly large number of different brands (hopefully the "Prin" brand will continue as a best-of for his other brands, if I'm not mistaken Prin has 4 seperate perfume brands, Prissana, Strangers, Pryn and now Prin...Seems to me like it might serve him better to streamline his work). Performance is incredibly good and I highly recommend this to fans of the dark, earthy, and industrial (despite the organic theming). Thumbs up.

Despite the fact both versions have been discontinued, and in contrast to the majority here, I personally feel Aran is a better scent compared to Aranyaka...they are composed based on the same formula (as confirmed by Prin Lomros himself) but probably different batches of materials could make the difference. Aran clearly has better projection and sillage on my skin. Both are extremely dark and mysterious, as the way I like it, but Aran comes across richer and sweeter than Aranyaka. The rest are very similar but I prefer the nuances I have gotten from Aran myself. I own Aranyaka so there is nothing to sugarcoat here... Just stating my preference. This gorgeous scent gives me a surreal scene of Himavanta forest at night...when it’s all dark and quiet. You could sense the mighty yet mythical creatures around you though you cannot see them clearly. Hopefully Prin comes back with something of similar inspiration and overall impression but better than these two in the future. An absolute masterpiece in my book. If you are a fan of mystical, dark, deep, dense scent, packed with some mythical/poetic elements, this is for you.

This masterpiece resembles the scent of a dense, deep forest that sunlight hardly penetrates through. The hints of fermented leaves and the animalistic smell were in the background. Very complicated and fascinated scent. Sadly I never had a chance to experienced Aranyaka. Both also be discontinued. 10/10 for sure

Got a sample of this scent. It is a wonderful chypre. I can smell the goat hair (I love it!). Black Philipp from the VVITCH movie would smell like this :D

I love it but the AKSUM is much better. For me the clear goat and asphalt notes there. if you like it take it

Aran is a slighlty less complex, less deep version of PRYN -Aranyaka (which I adore so much). Aran is clearly a great perfume, very well blended, and without any doubt inspired by Aranyaka, but somehow it lacks the 'magic' that Aranyaka has.

This is definitely an younger brother of Aranyaka.Looks like Prin used leftover Aranyaka to make it.Its definitely have that musty,musky,resinous quality.Definitely unique.Can be challenging for many people and it’s not a crowd friendly blend.More for like adventurous and bold persons.Prin does goes in extreme level in many of his compositions.

This one is easier to digest or let say more crowd pleasing type of fragrance than others from his portfolio. Very masculine, dark, leathery. Staying more in classical masculine perimeter. Aran and Eshu are somehow “similar” for me, cause they aura are more heading to “designer” direction, they somehow missing the Prin weirdness, otherwise Aran is very nice fragrance. On my skin is tobacco leather pipe accord prominent, will say in contrast to other animalics creations of Prin, this one is not animalic. Dont get scared because of goat and mushrooms.
