Burmite Honey

Hot honey indeed: a great big hug from a slightly over-friendly honey bear - as sweet as you please (no claws or growling) but with a spicy enough bite to set it well apart from other honey-centric niche offerings, and animalic enough to be very recognisably Prin. Also almost overwhelmingly strong, but wonderfully so. Smells exotic and exciting, rather than soothing or gentle The myrrh, pepper, cinnamon and tangerine keep it a darker, shimmery-orange in feel as well as its actual colour - this is not a light, floral deal at all, and I smell nothing in common with Zoologist Bee. Instead, a thick, chewy, almost leathery amber feel with just that slight darkness and almost-sour edge the oud brings to the tea party. (Oddly the perfume it brought most nearly to mind for me, after Hiram Green's honey tour de force Slowdive, was MPG's Ambre Tibet, which has no honey element at all). Thick, almost sticky on the skin and actually rather nicer when really lightly sprayed - when its upper range sings more brightly and clearly - if you overdo it, there's a risk of things getting overbearing (pun intended) and the usual danger of honey shading into slight pissiness. Projects like a beast and lasts for an absolute age. Hefty and heavenly stuff

I'm surprised that animalic is so low on the describers pyramid of this scent. I find it an animalic bomb, to the point I was surprised musk is not an accord. You get a lot of honey in its animalic form and the beeswax shine through the opening and drydown. There's some resinous quality to it that I guess is the fossil amber, and the incense and oud give some smokiness to it. This is SO SEXY I'd say it's NSFW! it's an evocative and promiscuous scent. It lasted about 8-10 hours on my skin, but the projection started to come down after hour 6. This is not a people pleaser easy perfume, it's very unique, and I don't recommend blind buying. PS: I did this review based on a sample, I have since purchased a full bottle and the juice is much more incense/myrrh forward, to the point that the beeswax is lost. It might be due to the sample coming from a bottle open for a few weeks so I'll leave my bottle to macerate and will update in a month or so. PS2: After about 6 weeks of maceration the perfume is exactly how my original sample was. The beeswax came forward and the incense is more blended. If you're testing/buying a new sealed bottle be aware that the scent will change with maceration.

Absolute filth, in the most beautiful possible way. Animalic, tangy and indolic notes, balanced with sweetness and incense smoke. Very idiosyncratic, high quality and not like any other honey fragrance I've found. It's neither cloying nor austere, just warm, complex and intriguing, resulting in one of the sexiest (and unisexiest) fragrances I've tried. Wearing it feels like bare skin bathed in sunlight that's peeking through a golden stained glass window. The animalic ambergris and (particularly) civet notes are quite apparent in it. They're listed on the website: `The base notes provide a grounding and animalic effect with sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, ambergris, civet, and musk' and I'm very surprised they don't appear on the note list here.

Animalic honey with green, piney incense with some amber and cumin. Love it! Compared to Zoologist bee this is less vanillic sweet, more animalic, a bit less floral and the incense is greener and less smoky. I get scent memories from this back to a organic whole foods store we used to shop in when I was a kid decades ago... Maybe they sold locally produced honey there... maybe the owners liked incense more than the usual hippie patchouli blend that drowned everything else and I hate so much. But yes, I get some hippie green wave vibes from Burmite Honey, but only good ones!

So beautiful . Barnyard, honey comb, oud, jasmine and dried orange Rinds. Amazing!!! Not for the faint hearted. It’s really really animalic

Takes a few minutes to settle down. Settles to a vintage smelling beeswax with fossil amber and a bit powdery like benzoin without the vanilla. Champaca and jasmine hide behind the beeswax and amber, more present at the start and more detectable up-close, less-so at a distance; a slight minty-ness to the champaca like smelling a pure champaca absolute oil. There's a tiny bit of soft incense holding the beeswax and amber together. To me, it really just smells like a vintage perfume from long ago, something I'd smell elder women wearing when I was a child; dosen't mean I don't enjoy wearing it myself lol. It's good, amber enthusiasts would probably love it.

Quite a feral honey with heavy cumin; reminds me of Absolue Pour le Soir but a little less refined/wearable.

Intensely spiced honey. A meagre approximation would be Absolue Pour Le Soir's half-sister who dresses up in Cinnamon and Spice. You get it. Instead of a smooth, sweetened incense-honey, you get cinnamon swirled into the mix and champaka gives it that slight creaminess that edges it over the dark/light juxtaposition with the spice. Really intense comparison that almost gives a buzz, over the animalic but smooth wearing APLS. If I ran out of APLS and CPLS in this lifetime, I might buy Burmite Honey as suitable replacements (unless MFK reproduces approximations of either composition...)

one of my favourite honey-centred fragrances so far (along with Hiram's Slowdive) this is a very natural, sweet, syrupy honey with a strong vintage feel and a balsamic, thick texture. sounds strong but its wears smoothly, without overpowering. the particular honey somewhat resemble the smell of a fresh honeycomb with its sweet floral aroma and a slightly bitter, waxy background. in the base its mostly spicy, sweet honey & beautiful slightly indolic jasmine (very inoffensive). oud is somewhat on the background, but if you have smelled some oud-scentric Prin fragrances, you'll recognise it immediately. Personally I like it a lot both as the main or a supportive note. extremely pleasant in cold weather

I really hoped to love this one. But it's just a mild like. It smells like the 70s to me. More specifically Cachet. I'm not sure what's giving me this vibe but there it is. It's long lasting for sure. It softens after about an hour. When I first put this on I loved it. So try before you buy this one is my advice. I think I'll revisit Burmite Honey when it's wintery out, to see if it's better on me. Right now it's in the lower 60s here. Edit * finally it settled into what I thought it would be. A beautiful honeyed fragrance. Most suitable for fall and winter. But getting there wasn't pleasant 😕

Extremely animalic beeswax in the opening with little to no sweetness, like a simpler nocturnal poetry. Slowly grows into a proper sweet and spicy honey. Much like most of PRIN's fragrances, the concept is unique but completely unbearable, I don't see myself ever spraying myself with this stuff outside of trying a unique experience. But at the very least this one isn't drowned in resins, which is what ruined many of his fragrances that I otherwise found intriguing.

I should have double checked the notes as Cumin is a no go for me. I had to scrub this off My arm it’s way intense mature men’s spicy cologne on me. The Amber beeswax was there in the opening which I liked but then it was an explosion of A men’s cologne counter time capsule 1970-1980’s edition.

An animalic, organic raw honey accompany by incense, cumin, oud and other spices. Epic performance. Same ballpark as Zoologist Beee, but less syrupy and more funky (not in a bad way), Reminds me of shopping in an old school Asian shop that sells TCM.

I think this is just like the old Jacques Bogart - Furyo, except richer, more naturals and more.. SE asian :)

Uhhh.. It smells like baby powder guys.
