Nilubol (นิลุบล)

Nilubol! This fragrance is just on a whole another level of being creative, it is really complex but I'm gonna try my best to explain what I'm smelling here as there so many notes in this beast. One thing straight away is that it is by no means a crowd pleaser, and you need to have an advanced nose for it. First time when you spray you are greeted by extremely green notes, like tomatoe leaf among other leafs that are listed here, they don't last that long, after 5 mins the scent transfer to this extremely bright green, it is very very uplifting and bright, it has kinda of "Menthol" effect like something minty, this effect is also present in his other creation like Nilmalee and 0225, not only that it also has a very bitter greeny smell too along with that minty effect, it is a refreshing in a way but I wouldn't call it Blue de chanel fresh, if that makes sense, it is soo unusual and weird kinda of fresh, you also got Birch Tar touches that adds smokiness to this aura as well. Mid drydown: that green effect is still there but 2 new things gets added here, the patchouli contributes more to the green effect and making the scent earthy, the other thing I notice here is some kinda of goaty smell, I know it is not listed in here but there is definitely a hint of goat Tincture smell in here, making this scent even more interesting. Late Dry Down: extreme Civet overdose with a hint of goat smell and the ouds comes a bit forward while still having this bitter/menthol effect. I sadly don't detect any Blue lotus in this but honestly it's not a big deal for me. It is absolutely weird and gorgeous, I have no idea why is this late so low, by far one of the Mr Prins wildest creations. Performance is good no complains and It has some similarities to Nilmalee and 0225 but I find Nilubol the edgier from all the 3. I rate Nilubol is 9.5/10, glad I have a full bottle.

Another expensive beauty. I have samples of all his latest creations, but I'm not sure which I'd grab a fb of. This one is a fairly bright and smoky floral. It seems to get brighter the longer it sits upon the skin, but it's far too hot at the moment to get a real grasp of this. Having said that, Mandarava and Mandodari performed crazy well on my holiday to Thailand last year in June...humidity does interesting things with perfume.

For good and bad - a very, very Prin product indeed. Big, complex, a bit reeky, a little over-busy; seriously nichey and maybe just a hair too much, overall. Smells like he genuinely threw everything but the kitchen sink in there, which ends up being so overwhelming that it doesn't quite cohere into a real identity, the way that some other slightly-less-complex Prin/Prissana scents manage to build a nuanced, but still recognisable, picture and keep you in there, even as they morph and change over time. (For instance, Varuek's amazing beastly-sexy wolf, or Aranyaka's goaty-hippie head shop, or Tirtha's green-jungle trek - all Prins I am totally convinced by and willing to follow through the adventure maze.) Instead, Nilubol adds up to an impressive but chaotic giant splatter-painting - smell this! now this! and that! and what about some of THIS? Certainly dramatic, and also very confusing. What's it really trying to say? As ever with the house, you can't argue you're not getting your (large amount of) money's worth - it wallops huge thickets of detail and a dizzying array of ingredients and has truly bombastic lasting power. Sadly some of the more bitey notes (oud & birch tar in particular) add character, dark and dirt, but then collide with some of the sweeter ones (heliotrope, jasmine etc) to give a slightly urinous-honey effect - on my skanky skin at least. Couldn't even begin to pick out some of the other stuff reputed to be in there because of this whole bamboozling, dizzying-tapestry aesthetic. Admirable and intelligent, but really not that easy to wear. If elaborate chypres are really your thing, and/or you love the house style to the brink of madness, there will definitely be weeks of entertainment in this trying to figure this one out. Perhaps just too clever for me to grasp, but ... as an actual smell, rather than a nose-IQ-test, (NQ?) ... not my favourite from this undeniably incredibly talented guy. Less (just a bit less!) might have added up to more here, in my uneducated opinion only.

Fermented, mulchy peaches passed through a sieve and mixed with grain alcohol and then touched with medicinal spice make up this drunken fragrance that only a madman like Prin could do. Hyperbole aside, he never ceases to impress how much of a range any one of his perfumes can single-handedly encompass. Nilubol smells like nothing you've ever smelled before and that's a good thing. There's a bit of orris-y powder à la a cosmetic bag, some civet-y stink that's amplified by Prin's religious use of cumin, a very watery teal floral note, and just a tad bit of leather, though I wish Prin would've gone in one direction or the other, either making this a little darker, adding more terpenic and indolic notes, or prettying this up with a juicier peach and a more sumptuous, buttery, musky, creamy base. As it stands, Nilubol is phenomenal but I'm not sure how to smell this, what I should be smelling, and why I would want to smell this way.

Bubbly fruity beer! Bright, uplifting and interesting! Definitely grabbing a fb if I want to treat myself with an expensive perfume.

This is not for me, high quality and well blended but it’s so very earthy green and I expected it to be fresher, my first time trying prin and a good impression so far. I really sense the tomato leaf and I hate it in perfume, I wonder how it would smell without it... Carnation really gives off a vintage feel. Almost like a vintage womens designer, but with more depth ofcourse.

Instead of invoking the beautiful blue water lily (aka Egyptian lotus) in bloom, it's pulled back into the water and through the mud—The vegetal bitterness is irritating (although the late dry-down is much more graceful).

Overstuffed floral woody musk that does not leave much of an impact sadly. There are about 30 notes in this perfume and rather than list them all I will list the main ingredients: at the top there is a violet leaf, jasmine, peach, osmanthus, cumin and galbanum, at the heart there is some ambrette, oud and orris and at the base civet, birch tar and a buttery note. The unisex scent has moderate sillage and good longevity. I don’t use this term very often but this is a slight mess of a perfume sadly that does not leave much of an impact.

My experience of this perfume is different enough from the description that I almost wonder if my sample is mislabeled. But more likely the oud and birch tar are just that strong. I get basically no green and very little floral from this. Green is my favorite scent genre and tomato leaf in particular is a note I seek out avidly; my beloved regular rotation includes Corsica Furiosa, Green Spell, Vetiver Ecarlate, Nuit de Bakelite, and Lomros's very own Salted Green Mango. So when I got utter bupkiss in that dimension I was pretty disappointed. But taken on its own terms, it's a good perfume (if you like Maximalism and Stank and Complexity, which I do). For me it opens VERY smoky. Within 15 minutes or so it rounds out with more woody/mulchy facets, and there's this constant boozy undercurrent that sometimes reminds me of cola or root beer except with like 1/10th the typical sugar content. I think that's probably the florals adding nuance in a way that I don't perceive as straightforwardly floral; it's more apothecary or angostura bitters vibes. Over some hours the aggro smoke-funk disperses and what is left behind is a warm shimmer (mostly ambrette I suppose) that's pleasant but nowhere near as distinctive as what came before. Not a favorite (smoke is a note that I struggle with), not something I'm going to buy more of, but I do like returning to it now and again to see what I get out of it this time; it feels like it's actively tutoring my nose every time I wear it. I've only worn it four or five times at this point, so who knows, maybe in a year it will have grown on me greatly. But even if not, it's a perfume I'm happy to have experienced.

I don't agree that this is a mess, its just an extremely busy and heavy perfume! I comes across as a spicy cola/ginger beer accord most of the time to me, but at different stages its also buttery lemon orris, dank herby patch. dries to a leathery fuzz Very complex, too expensive for me
