DARK AND SMOKY PERFECTLY DONE MYSTERY Oh my, I haven't worn this for months and I'm amazed every time I do. I know I'm in the minority again as a woman who loves such scents. The opening is mind-blowing, incredibly beautiful and at the same time mystical. The scent is like a dark thick sticky veil, the very resinous texture is laced with delicate animalic aromas. Hyraceum, Cumin, Beeswax and Castoreum are noticeable, but they are utterly gentle and perfectly soft. I don't think they are challenging at any point and in no way dirty, although it's worth remembering that I haven't encountered any animalic aromas, which would be too much for me. Often, due to wearability, I have to wonder how other people experience such scents. In addition to the other animalic notes, the musk is also much cleaner than, for example, in "Mongolian Mriga | Prin" . It is not clearly animalic, but remains delicate and sensual all the time. The heavy smokiness of the beginning quickly dissipates and makes room for the other notes as the scent becomes sweeter. The beeswax seems to melt and allows the spicy aroma of cinnamon to shine through. The subtle smokiness remains and adds an enigmatic touch to the perfectly blended concoction. One of my favorite notes, Labdanum, makes everything blend into the skin's own scent seamlessly and imperceptibly. Similar to Francesca Bianchi's fragrances, for the inexperienced, many of Prin Lomros's fragrances may resemble each other. They use completely natural ingredients (Francesca Bianchi is cruelty-free though) and therefore the general style of the fragrances is of course very similar, and certain notes are similar to each other. The differences mainly come only from the ratios of the ingredients used. I would say that Onthamara's special feature is smokiness and if you don't like that, then this fragrance is completely impossible to wear. The smokiness also makes this challenging in terms of wearability, as the aroma can easily be as off-putting to people around you as the edgy animalic notes. Onthamara definitely reminds me of a campfire, around which I have sat for hours, the smoke from the campfire clinging to my hair and clothes. The next time I put on the same outerwear, the smoke is still there, as beautiful memories. This is my experience with Onthamara, after wearing it numerous times. Prin is a master perfumer who is also incredibly prolific and versatile and creative. A glance at the overwhelming number of notes will tell you this requires some time and study to try and identify them in any accurate way. For those hoping to fill a room with a scent this might not be the best choice. Sure, it is strong and it has two kinds of powerful oud, pine tar, spruce to open up with power. But what makes this fragrance a modern masterpiece is how well-blended and shape-shirting it is. Its dna is tied to some of Prin's other scents but I have not yet tested or purchased two other new releases, Oquatchol and Rahassanai that are cousins or maybe brothers to this one. I encourage people who want to own a mythical fragrance to do so soon. It is a limited edition and I think there are less than 20 left. Please read Rajesh's review below. I will say each time I bring my wrist up to smell, the fragrances has morphed just a tiny bit. I love it.

In my opinion, here you have the best use of Siberian Deer Musk in perfumery, so far. I'm a long advocate and lover of the original EO2 parfum, but this one is better. More complex, has more balls, and better blended. Oh, did I mention it's half the price and at a higher concentration? Yes. Onthamara uses two core materials that lead the composition as a duet, the musk and the amber fossil. They marry beautifully here, the musk with it's animalic, earthy, chocolatey and pissy facets, perfectly tamed by the smokiness, dryness, leathery, and sweet facets of the amber. Around these, you have other notes dancing around, rounding everything. Woods, spices, tobacco. At the end, you get this multifaceted smoky, ambery, musky perfume, that makes people get close to you, and dances around like a hypnotic aura for hours and hours. Perfectly dosed dirtiness, never too much to offend, just enough to intrigue. I love it so much, I had to get a backup. Top 3 ever Prin releases for me, and quite possibly my favorite from him. Representations of the devil have historically and culturally ranged from a hyper-endowed he-goat to a suave, well-dressed man and just about everything in-between. Prin’s Onthamara, meaning “darkness devil” in Thai, shrouds fossilized amber, pine tar, celery seed, and lavender in an excellent use of Siberian musk and one herb or the other to create an old, musty, and slightly oily perfume that is as much enticing as it is accursed. Think of Na Hong-jin’s 2016 film, "The Wailing," where in the closing moments of the film a strange, golem-like, old man reveals his true demonic form, red-eyed and punctured by stigmata. Onthamara is an ugly perfume that smells good, and Prin Lomros’ crowning achievement in perfumery manages to make conversations around unconventional fragrances pointless. Here, the “everything but the kitchen sink” approach includes a cauldron, and the odorous becomes odious. Many of us are fine with that but what’s wrong with us?

Dark, evocative, smoky and deep animalic Oriental fougere designed as a representation of a dark demon god. The bold perfume contains a central animalic note composed of fossilized amber, hyrax, castoreum and real deer musk. This is surrounded by a plethora of exotic notes like lovage root, black spruce, jatamansi, camphor, beeswax and a host of other dark aromatic notes. It is a kitchen sink but it works incredibly to create a seamless dark potion. This is truly the olfactory equivalent to excavating an ancient beast from a tomb. The masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Prin Lomros knows how to push all boundaries and this is his finest hour. A modern masterpiece. Enjoy!

Onthamara exemplifies why perfumery is an art form- it’s an absolute masterpiece. I love it in a spiritual way; it takes me on a seamless, near-cinematic journey when I wear it- which I often do when working alone at home. It’s meditative, dark, warm, yet never offensive, and the musk simply sings. While it certainly leans masculine, I had to have a whole bottle for myself after obsessing over a sample for a month. Price point is high but for good reason- these materials are precious and expensive. The strength will knock you off your feet and it lasts absolutely forever. I can’t wait to smell what Prin has in store for us in the future!

Wear this on the core. Bow to Prin on this one. Thank-you. Protection with dark powers prior to the Ice age which started 2 mil. years ago. The Earth was a different place. Keeps the boss away and lowers at bay. Works with the “Dark Devil” trance. “Old lines” the Gypsy Fortune teller will share. “Yes I understand”. Masculine and dark order. Ancient power but know the power to control it. Wild but orderly. An ancient time and a warmer Earth which we are heading back towards.

I work in an executive position. I wear this when I plan on stepping into a store to strike intense power. This smell is definitely dark. A coworker says I smell like a dark church that he experienced as an altar boy when he was a child. I cant tell if this scent reminds him of forsaken memories with the priest. Nonetheless, I wear it to evoke fear and to change my own mindset.

This is so good. Its a smokey, musky, camphor fougere. A little goes a long way. It has 3 phases, upon application its strong as with most fragrances, it recedes slightly and then with body heat throughout the day I get bursts where the it "flames ups". FragrantMatty nailed the scent description so I have nothing to add. Lasts all day. Projection is arm length.

Vile disgusting filth but it's the filth of someone you're deeply in love with. So well-blended and unified I can hardly pick any notes apart. It is literally the scent of someone that is deeply disgusting and unwashed but in a way that is so addicting, this is being in love with someone you refuse to see for face value.

Sampling this for the 4th time. First thing I notice is the musk, it's obvious and upfront but not overdone. Musk and mentholic (camphor?) notes at first that soften towards more coniferous notes as the sharp camphor fades. Amber notes come out gradually with a very faint beeswax. A faint smokey nuance is detected after 40mins or so. Smells different in the air than upclose; more complex in the air I find. I would consider this a musky fougere, although light on the fougere part. I see many people describing this as a dark leathery fragrance but I'm getting more of a natural musk with woody resins. I'll keep an eye on this with my nose as it wears out and note any more changes along the way. An easy wearing natural musk fragrance so far.

Onthamara is a boot black leathery dark amber scent that has layers of smoke and incense. Kind of reminds me of the smell of my granddads bitter chewing tobacco chunk that he used to always have around.. Also the smell of birch tar leather perfumes that are no longer being made due to restrictions on the use of birch tar, I think. This is an interesting scent, but I think overpriced for what the results are.

Onthamara is a no-nonsense animalic musky fragrance built on Thai Oud, Amber, Incense, Castoreum, and Siberian Musk, etc. It's very warm, resinous, rude, rugged, dark, chaotic, and provocative with its animalic facets. The meaning of "Onthamara" in the Thai language is “Darkness Devil”, True to its name. This fragrance doesn't care based on its unapologetic attitude in the opening. However, it won't be offensive for those who enjoy or appreciate animalic, musky fragrance. Then, after like some hours, as the scent evolves, it gracefully transitions into this beautiful warmth of smoky incense. It's earthy, woody, resinous, and musky with a touch of floral notes. The animalic facets linger beautifully throughout the entire wear. The whiffs of warmth himalayan amber, smoke, spices aroma, and other elements are insane. They all come together to light like a hit of sacred smoke swirling out of an incense burner. This one stays on skin for a long period of time, and it won't leave you. These whiffs are extremely addictive and unforgettable 😩 Onthamara is more like a traditional scent. It really captured Thai culture. The incensy smell of "Onthamara" gives the feel of Thai temple rituals and tradition, which centred around Buddhist practices and beliefs. It's a unique blend for sure. A masterpiece of scent 💎💎💎🔥🔥🔥

Im testing Prin creations in Bangkok, its really hot and humid here, i was thinking it will be too heavy for this kind of climate, but its not. I put one spray on my arm and walk around city like idiot sniffing my arm all the time, so all the nigerians are thinking i wanna buy some cocaine from them. Scent is so clean, warm smell, its not animalic in sexual way, its more like animal which you like, like your pet animal which is smelling like you and you smell like him, cause both of you are spending time cuddling together. (Writing this as big dog owner) It smells like warm fur which makes you really chill, safe and warm. I dont know too much about demons and devils, but ifs that how they smell i will definitely turn on the darkside, maybe they just mimicry like angels, because they want your soul. Its really well balanced, i cant specific all the materials, main player is musk which is wrapped in the drydown in this kind of hubba bubba like orris root scent. First wearing probably didnt releaved all layers, but upon first wearing i can say thats really warm clean musk smell, any harsh animalics, any strong ouds, perfectly blended, if i have to choose color of this parfume, its not dark, but brown white violet.

This is a dark Oriental fragrance. It's very deep. I highly respect Prin Lomros and own 2 FBs of his including a difficult one. This scent is extremely well blended. The list of notes is much too long for my nose to differentiate the individual parts beyond the initial blast of musk. It is very rich. I have to be completely honest. It's too dark. I just don't want to smell like this. I'm going to save my sample and try it on a rainy day to see if it's just my mood or the weather. Edit 29 January 2023: It must have been my mood. It's a rainy, cold day here in Hawaii, and I'm trying my samples of some luscious Prin fragrances. They are sublime. I've got Onthamara on one wrist, and I love it. Dark wood, amber, musk. It's a deep, dark forest. As I said last April, my nose really can't pick out all the individual notes. This is a masterpiece.

Smokey, spiced cigar leaf smoldering on embers while Prin’s ‘Ma Nishtana’ spice accord hums beautifully in the foreground. Meanwhile a brilliant masculine barbershop vibe ala Chetyre slowly takes shape in the background. The opening musk note hits you like a ton of a bricks. If you ever wondered what an expertly blended or even masterfully composed artisanal fragrance would smell like using real deer musk this is it. While Onthamara is an animalic beast it’s blending is incredible and shows clear progression from past compositions. This is a new chapter for Prin Lomros and I’m here for it. Fans of Oud Zhen and EO2 will love this one.

Slighlty animalic resin and incense, not unlike Hendley Bourbon, but a bit more rank and smoky. I can definitely smell smoky pine tar and a castoreum twang among the warm melted resinous labdanum and metallic notes. This is really nice, though too animalic for my tastes. One of the few Prin that I might wear.

It's a 100% scent of burning Palo Santo! Smoky, woody, meditative... Rests close to the skin. Updated: At first it reminds me a rich herbal balm.
