Persephone

This is phenomenally sultry and gorgeous. It really puts me in mind of some of Dawn Spencer Hurwitz's retro-noveaus but painted in Prin's unmistakable tones. The florals and animalics together in this wear like an absolute dream on skin (and just like everything else he's made, it NEEDS skin to sing) and although I can see his inspiration when I read the words, I spent the whole evening walk that was my first impression with images of old Hollywood and the memories of aged beauty at a vanity, reminiscing of a youth spent toying with powerful men. It's far from stuffy, it's sensual and classy, but it has a quality about it that really smells like a glimpse of another time. It won't be for everyone, but when the right nose discovers it they're going to feel like they found the holy grail of retro skank powerhouses. I tried this on a damp, chilly spring night and was blown away. I can barely wait to see what it does on the kind of summer night that mingles it with heated flesh and blooming flowers. My husband likes to tease me about my taste in French hooker perfumes and of that fragrance family this isn't just one of the girls, it's the whole Madame in furs and diamonds counting her money. Absolute knockout, a femme fatale grown wise and wealthy.

Prin Lomros has a distinct and masterful way with super animalic white florals. His Prin scents feel like a more masc-leaning cousin to some of my beloved Teone Reinthal or DSH scents (as dustyspectacles similarly points out). Persephone is robust and resinous, with a smooth dose of incense (I can detect the touch of cumin here, too, which could be controversial), and heady white florals (that narcissus is gorgeous). But what really sets this one apart for me is the sage/pine/patchouli, which give it an herbal, almost medicinal vibe. Like I've gone deep into a mysterious forest for healing by the Gods and they have decided to rub me down with this tincture. Powerful.

This smells like a realistic vagina with florals in the background. Not awful but I have no idea where I’d wear this.
