Rouge Royal For Men

hard for me to describe this one.am yet to come across one that is close but there's a heavy dose of spices obviously coming from the cinnamon and cardamom.the initial burst of lavender quickly disappears to leave one with the spices the entire duration of the fragrance. it's easy to overspray and get choked in the process as the spices dont mellow at all -at least on my skin.yes,you are left with some floral sweetness but am not sure which flowers these are but overall this is a well done fragrance. Am glad this appears to be an underrated fragrance but I think if it had been made by Serge Lutens using the same ingredients,it will be receiving rave reviews everywhere.Proof you dont need to spend a fortune to enjoy niche-like smells. It is ideal for cold nights so autumn/fall and winter are simply great for this.Plus it lasts forever on me.Sadly it's hard to find which ironically is good for me.lol.luckily got mine on ebay for a song and simply love it!!

I find this a lovable sweet spicy fragrance that for me becomes a cozy semi-powder scent in the dry down. I honestly was worried that I was wasting my money for it was so cheap ($12.00 for 1.7 oz?!?!)... how could this be decent much less good? I do not have an answer but it is "good" and then some. Funnyboy is correct. It is honeyed fragrance but unlike several highly touted sweet scents this does not give me a headache nor make me nauseous. It seems to get to the edge of too sweet and then stops peering into the abyss of oh boy I am wearing too much of this. In retrospect I find it laughable how worried I was about this scent because of the price point. Truth be told I have been more let down by scents that cost 4 times as much. I was buffeted from hating more expensive scents for the price in my pea brain tells me no it must be good I paid $40 for it. I must be uncultured. Long story short this smells to me like a $40 fragrance should smell.

I have had no previous experience with Princess Marina De Bourbon fragrances however after finding them available recently for exceptionally good prices I ordered Rouge Royal for my husband and A La Francaise for myself. I want to say how beautiful the box and bottle is for this fragrance! Stunning presentation! The fragrance itself is very nice and agreeable, but very, very weak performance. My husband sprayed it liberally and it was a total skin scent with no projection whatsoever after 15 minutes! First you smell the cinnamon and then something creamy like tonka but it must be the resin? There is vague lavender and some sandalwood in the background. In a way it reminds me of Burberry Touch for men, really nice. I decided that I will try wearing this myself since I wear Burberry Touch for men and I adore it. Sadly, so far it is performing equally as poorly on me as it did on my husband.

Wore this one today to work. Definitely the vibe of RR varies depending on temperature (I've worn it in cool weather and it does not really perform as well). Today we were in the upper 70's-low 80's in New Orleans (with moderate humidity) and after 4 hours I can still smell it. Honey, sandanwood and a little cedar is what I get. Slightly sweet and very comforting. Thumbs up.

This might sound super weird especially bc this costs less than 10$ but... if EA's Red Door was a cologne this would be it. Replace Red Door's white floral with lavender and powderyness with freshness. Boom. Red Door but distinctly masculine. I can't think of another way to describe it. Well worth the money, might not be a safe blindbuy but it's so cheap why not!

The absolute worst fragrance that I've ever smelled. It's horrid. If I end up in hell, the devil will force me to wear this for eternity.

First Pass - Fruity. Very sweet. Very powdery. Slight spice. Candied apple 2 Hours Later - Less powder. Still some spice. Floral now 4 Hours Later - Faint wafts of cinnamon. Almost like a berry / mulled spice candle Overall - This starts out very feminine (powdery, sweet), evolves into a different side of feminine (floral, sweet) and ultimately finishes into a sweet, fruity, baking spice scent. Rouge Royal debuted in 2006, the same year as London Men by Burberry (which I have reviewed separately). They could have been fraternal twins separated at birth. Not identical, but same family ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

I would like to know how much thought was put into this one, because I have yet to encounter one that is like it. Yes, you can compare it to Burberry Brit for Men or Gucci Pour Homme II, but it's much softer than either of those, with no "rough edges." What is causing the super powdery opening? The notes listed don't seem to account for that quality. When I was a "newbie," this was too much for me, in that I could not perceive all the great things going on here, but now I can. There is a fruitiness at first, but it's not clear what the fruit is (it's soft and more pear-like than lemony), along with the powder and spices. Then comes the wood note, which is the softest I have ever encountered, furnishing dynamism without harshness (as is so often the case with "masculine" fragrances). And the honey is also not the kind you find in many "masculine" fragrances (usually harsh and with a urine-like quality). Instead, it's soft and rich. Longevity and projection/sillage are at least very good. If you want something with more "bite," however, you can go for the aforementioned, or perhaps Jacomo Rouge. How anyone can call this horrible is beyond my comprehension. It's sort of like a modernized version of Canoe type scents - better balanced, no animalic quality, more complex, etc. UPDATE: The drydown has elements of FUBU Plush for Men, Bvlgari Black, and Midnight in Paris, so if you like these kinds of scents, this may be one to grab if the prices remain low.

Oh Gosh... it's incredible... what a lovely frag. Lemon and honey at the top, but soon, the rich composition rise-up. Floral, yes, but not much at all. It's lavender, honey, cinnamon and a lot of cardamon... pungent cardamon. At the dry-down, the honey take the scene again, and kick-out the excess of spices, and come the woodsy notes. Staying the honey and cashmere woody to the base notes... and finish in a pure velvet amber and honey! Wood spicy... is it! The best male spicy honey. Two spritz is enough... in Brazil, oh no, need a lot of caution... And the staying power... yes, is wonderful! Love it!

Not a bad fragrance.hard to find and cannot decide whether the bottle looks tacky or expensive. not offensive but soft and sweet without being in your face.Dont think the under 30's would appreciate this fragrance as its basenotes are very honeyfied but seem quite natural. Think it is better for Autumn here in the U.K rather than summer. I find it does not give me the headache induced by the sweetness of some of the more recent designer offerings such as 1 million and A Men. Could wear this all the time day or night and it is very subtle but fragrant if that makes sense. Out of 10 I mark it 8.5.

Just got Rouge Royal. Yeah, I agree with the review below saying it could be Red Door for a male audience. I would also say it's in the same general neighborhood as Le Male, although this is way more spicy and has more of a 70s and 80s vibe going on with the spices and honey. I'm really digging the red, Art Deco bottle with the red metallic finish, although the cap doesn't stay on. This fragrance is cheap as chips for what you get, and I highly recommend trying it.

DEAR FRAGANTICA: why there isnt an entry for BOURBON HOMME , youre missing on the firts male offering from this house , same bottle as rouge royal , but black , with a stripped box in silver and black..please put it on the database!

Lemon, Honey, Cinnamon and some flowers... very beautiful scent.
