Topaz

Haven't tried Miami before, but I had a mixed experience with 2654 (Mix of Miami & San Diego) Don't get me wrong, I love coconut, but 2654 was just too synthetic / weird, not sure if it was just the sea salt note or the fruits or what. This, on the other hand? Amazing, got no issues with this. There's a solid balance between the fresh, tropical side of this, and the heavier vanilla / tobacco / run end. What results is a fragrance that I'm gonna love for just about any occasion during summer, especially dates or beach days. And because of the heft, I think it'll be pretty fitting for fall too, could work as a signature excluding cold weather in general considering I live in a hotter climate. Blind bought a 11ml and I wasn't disappointed, if you like tropical coconut scents like Le Beau and enjoy a bit of sweetness on top, you'll probably appreciate some part of this. TLDR: It's great, can't wait to use this all so I can buy a full bottle.

This is love at first sniff, I purchased this because I honestly wanted to purchase Miami but this beautiful work of art makes me glad I didn’t. Let’s start with talking about the perfumer, I spoke to Issac a little over email and he seems like such a genuine guy. One negative thing I have to say is the shipping times are so long, but he said it was because a recent surge in orders and they aren’t able to keep up. In order to make it up to everyone he sent everyone a free sample and also upgraded our shipping to priority. Fragrance to me has a strong saffron opening similar to the one in Xerjoff Torino 22. The fragrance is amazing none the less and look forward to supporting Issac and his brand more in the future. I think I’m starting to fall in love with the emerald sample as well. I highly recommend this.

Vacation. Beach. Hot summer nights in the city. All of these come to mind when thinking of Topaz. It's unique, powerful and masterfully blended. The coconut is not overpowering but it's definitely there and plays beautifully with the lime. For those that don't know, Isaac is the perfumer behind the ORIGINAL scent collection from City Rhythm and now Prisma is the ONLY place to get the fragrances the way they were intended to be. Thank you Isaac for keeping these scents alive and available.

This is way denser and heavier than I anticipated. I think the best way I can describe the scent is extreme noir with pina colada notes. I would not wear this during the day in the summer and honestly I think this can be pulled off in the winter even. That tobacco is so rich. Good projection and insane longevity The bottle is pretty nice, I like the packaging and the atomizer is good. Gets a 7.5/10 on first impressions, for a 50 mL idk if I would buy again but it's good.

it's like a combination of Virgin Island Water and BR540, but WITHOUT the bad parts of both. Overall a very sweet and coconut dominant scent with subtle citrus/lime in the background to add intrigue (perfect, never gets too sour). Heads-up: I believe this is the original formulation and original perfumer of City Rhythms Miami. Prisma's prices and quality are so much better (imo) so I'd buy from them instead.

This fragrance is an amazing scent I really get the tobacco saffron and coconut this can be worn on a perfect date night it's sweet seductive and very sexy. It's a panty dropper. Good quality juice laste 8 plus hours. Isaac makes fragrances with passion and you can tell when you wear them. Topaz is not to sweet and it's not too dark for the summer you can wear all 4 season imo

Amazing is the best and only word i can think of to describe this one. My favorite scent from this house. Great scent that engulfs you in a unique, sweet, coconutty, long lasting utopia. Plainly put...I think its perfect. I really dont understand the comparisons to VIW either, 2 completely different vibes here. I will absolutely purchase a large bottle as soon as available

I'm sure it's just my nose, but I get very little sweetness or citrus, but lots of tobacco and spice. Smells like a fall/winter frag to me and not summer like everyone else says. Didn't really like it. Edit: sample sat in a drawer for 2 weeks and now smells as advertised. I love it and will likely get a bottle.

A very nice scent, no doubt. A nice blend of coconut and some sweet tobacco. I think it’s quite versatile as well, but ultimately it’s not for me. Too sweet, and a bit too feminine and playful. I would love this on a woman though.

I was hoping for less of the 2654 vibe because I much prefer Miami to 2654 but you get a little too much of the san diego. I still love this fragrance and will get a full bottle shortly. It is very nice.

I cant describe this fragrance like some others can but holy crap does it smell amazing. This is what I thought VIW would smell like but this does it infinitely better 10/10

better than miami in every way

So I got a 11ml of this in a trade of sorts and have been wearing it on and off over the last two months. This is a sweet tobacco scent with lime/coconut, and sugary facets that can be worn in the summer even though it wears a little heavy. Sometimes it smelled air freshener and sometimes it smells drop dead amazing. Now that it sat and macerated for a few months it smells more like a fragrance (it matured?). It’s very base heavy and sticks to the skin but sillage is great when you catch it. Since it smells more like a base of a fragrance it layers well with something fresh on top. I’ve worn it to the beach several times during the day and later on after smells amazing. Just some initial thoughts on this one. As I get more into my sample I’ll come back and re-review. Overall, I enjoy this one- 7.5/10. Sample worthy, sample first, do not blind buy because the hype.

Ok so this is very saffron esk at least to my nose. It is very reminiscent of br540 with like an added rum note. I gave it away to my sister just because it’s a bit too feminine for my liking but there’s no taking away it’s an absolutely beautiful scent. It’s very light yet dark at the same time. Issac is a master perfumer at this point bc I also got a sample of kiss the moon and it’s gorgeous as well. I probably should’ve noticed the saffron note in this... however it smells phenomenal on other people just not what I usually go for. In short I’d compliment you if you were wearing it lol.

I do understand the relation to BR540 due to the saffron and the ambergris, but this is a whole other fragrance itself. Rich and creamy coconut juxtaposed with the freshness of the lime, spices from the saffron and lots of sugar cane. This is borderline gourmand. It kinda smells like a sugar cookie with coconut. Unknown Pleasures but tropical. Good for winter, or summer. I'd wear this all year round, new favourite.

I have a sample of City Rhythm Miami and a full bottle of topaz. Topaz is the better choice imo. Less sweet than Miami which isn’t good or bad. What wins me over is the harmony, Topaz has the perfect concentration of each note where each one blends together. 8.8/10 great purchase also came with a decant of kiss the moon :)

A more floral less lime and tobacco miami. In terms of quality, it's interchangeable between miami. I would rather have miami because it's 180 after tax and shipping with coupon for 100ml instead of 105 for 50ml of topaz. EDIT: Ngl they are both ass 🤧

Regardless of all the comparisons to City Rhythm’s Miami, I just simply think that Topaz is slightly inferior. Topaz has a slight rubbery feel to it, compared to Miami all of the notes are kind of all squished together, rather than having more depth. Even though the notes are basically identical, Topaz is reminiscent of Miami at most. A decent scent still, but something you would get if you don’t wanna drop a hefty sum on Miami.

Since it invariably comes up, I just spent the last two days doing a comparison of Prisma Topaz and City Rhythm Miami in samples from each company. (This is being posted to each of their pages here.). They are obviously quite similar but they are certainly not the same. To begin: Topaz is more floral and lime-forward and almost comes across as slightly a soapy floral. Miami is slightly sweeter and more coconut-y. There is a spot of floral but it is much more diminished. And whereas Topaz is a more rounded, smoother, and, objectively, is probably the better balanced scent, Miami is sharper, almost metallic/synthetic upon application. It's got a bite to it; is almost rougher. That may sound negative but it’s not at all: it gives Miami a life and zest. As they dry down, the fundamentally more floral nature of Topaz remains; it has far less coconut to it and keeps more of a lime/flower (camelia? gardenia?) presence. Miami, in dry-down, picks up a slight boozy rum quality over the coconut and sugary base, and although the tang diminishes it is still there. To sniff one against the other two or three hours after putting them on is to smell sibling scents – quite close, but, for me, Topaz remains flowery, perhaps amber, and Miami more resinous with rum and lingering coconut. In terms of sillage and longevity, I found both to be about the same: moderate sillage but with quite good duration. Bottom line: all in all, I enjoyed Miami slightly more – it has a tang and bite at first, which continues as it gets more boozy in the drydown. That’s not to say that Topaz isn’t a great scent, because it is (actually, they both are); nor is it to say that the two scents are not highly similar, because they are. Which of the two anyone might prefer would depend on their views of flowery scents versus more boozy drydowns or whether the person has a predilection for smoother lime and flowers or tangy, rum coconut.

This is completely from my experience and skin, so take it how you well: Addressing the elephant in the room, Both Topaz and Miami have their own strengths. In the opening, Topaz is sweet, but Miami is even sweeter. You get a sweetened lime smell from Topaz, but a coconut with a dumpload of sugar (and a squeeze of lime) from Miami. Despite the difference in scent profiles from the openings, Topaz projects and lasts much much longer than Miami. Comparing the two, I just get the feel that Miami is amazingly good, but its fades really fast. Whereas Topaz’ lime scent instead of sweet coconut lasts almost forever. I want to also point out that this is a very in detail explanation of their openings. To most, they are almost identical. I just want to be as descriptive as possible. Once you hit the 20-40 minute mark, both Topaz and Miami smell exactly the same on my skin, but Topaz projects 2x longer, and lasts soo much longer. TL;DR Miamis opening is super sweet, Topaz is a sweet lime. After 30 mins they smell the same. Topaz projects longer and lasts longer than Miami.

This and Miami are not even distant cousins! I dont know if this got reformulated or what, but i have both and i was planning to use this as my daily frag (saving Miami for special occasions), and im disappointed how different the smell from each other, i was a diehard fan of this house, but sadly im cutting ties after this. Got KISS THE MOON together with this and is a chemical mess! Bye Prisma, loved you! (EMERALD and AMETHYST are pretty good though, recommended)

Smells really good. A sugary coconut type of smell that men can pull off. I heard that this was supposed to be inspired by Baccarat and Creed Virgin Island water and I can somewhat see that. I personally think BR540 does smell better, BUT for a man I’d suggest this over it because I find baccarat a bit too feminine leaning and I don’t see how you’d like baccarat and not this. Get a sample before buying a full bottle I rate it 9/10.

Topaz was my first love in the Prisma line. It is an amazing amber sweet fragrance that radiates in the warmer months, but can literally be worn all year around. This is most definitely a must have in your fragrance collection. It is a moderate to long lasting fragrance, and has great sillage. Intoxicating fragrance!

This is so good, it’s such a great fragrance. I love it so much, and my girlfriend also loves it on me. But mannnnnnnnn, this thing only projects for about an hour. I hate how weak it is, and I’m thinking about picking up City Rhythm Miami because of that.

Very similar to Miami (duh). Definitely more of a virgin island water lime, less dark less punchy sweet but not in a bad way. It’s more refined and grown up. Lingers longer but they project about the same amount. Topaz is better value for money

Never had a Fragrance stay on my skin for longer than 8 hours; When I spray this I am able to detect the smell easily the day after. Smells great and the best value for any fragrance house by far.

@Dishsoap the owner of Topaz, is the OG creator of CR Miami. CR Miami of today, isn’t as good as when it first hit the scene. The OG will always be better!

This stuff actually slaps not sure where i’d wear it tho maybe summer date night type of thing. Smells super unique tho like a boozy night out in miami
