Chetyre

Rich, lush, complex, earthy and masculine, well-layered. A LOT is going on in it, with most notes not overpowering each other which is rare. Very balsamic on the opening but before you get to feel disappointed with the medicinal note it goes into lush tasty conifer sap and into animalistic bitter leather. It then adds some proper smoke and tar and a resinous note. An unexpected appearance of an incense note on the finish, except if it`s churchy in TREX by Zoologist, here it`s polite and not sweet. A bit of rose and musk are noticeable too. Great job on creating a perfume that opens up even better when it starts to wear out. Basically this is what a forest would smell like if translated into perfume. Excellent ingredients marriage and layering skills. This scent is like a book- it takes time to read all it`s well-written pages and isn`t this what you call art? 10/10

Absolutely stunning. Prin Lomros is fast becoming my favourite perfumer with imaginative, complex and delightful creations like these. I can't get enough of smoke in my fragrances of late, and this delivers perfectly. An evocative blend, calling to mind walking from my village to the next in the autumnal dusk, painted with sooty plumes of chimney smoke and the verdant loam of the countryside I traversed as a boy. Its performance is surprisingly good; I test all my fragrances at work in a busy kitchen, and if they can perform in the high, oily heat of an airblasted workplace then I know I'm onto a winner.

Carrot seed, tar, lavender, pine... Melancholic, dark, leathery, savory and earthy-sweet. Sometimes I get more leather, other times the scent cloud around me reminds me of a cup of sweetened iced black tea. I know this isn’t a tea fragrance but something about this “feels” tea like. According to Prin’s website this is being discontinued. So please buy now so the value of my bottle goes up. 🫶

Dusk or dim lighting. So smoky it made me crave cigarettes and I don't smoke. Converted me to a lover of smoke, leather, and incense fragrances on Me (I'm a girl but I'm the only boy at this party). Feeling insatiable.

If I sniff the skin up close it resembles the common opening profile vibes (citrus, green, and exotic floral) of other Prin creations, but in the air it smells like leather with a bunch of Indian incense stick smell and forest fire. I like this one better than most smoky perfumes (maybe I dig birch tar—not too familiar with it—and I feel like I smell jasmine is in there too) but I don’t understand why soooooo many perfumes are being created of this smoke bomb type. I never thought I wanted to smell like a campfire nor a smoker. If you do dig those things on you, try this. I know a lot of you do like these kinds.

I don't know why but I can't quite get the hang of this kind of smoky and spicy fragrance. The quality of the perfume is very high and you can tell that it is very concentrated. The performance is also very good and it feels very natural. The negative part is that I do not know if I like to smell like that, but as an olfactory experience it is quite a hoot! I can understand the mention of barbecue. For me i mostly get smokey, leather and musk (synethetic musk but mind you its not bad). Are other facets detectable? Sure but they are hardly perceptible in comparison to the main players I mentioned. I like this one as its masculine and unique.

There are certain fragrances that are creating a dislike for aldehydes for me. This is one of them. It has the makings of a typical dark leathery smoky fragrance. Yet it's covered by a dishwashing soap scent that completely masks it. It's as if you spend the night sitting around a bonfire in the woods wearing a leather jacket... And you tried to cover up the smoky smell with Dawn. Just applying the liquid over the top of the smoke-infused leather though... Not actually doing any washing. I think my sensitivity and the visualization I have with this is having tasted dried dishwashing soap on glasses and plates while eating meals. It's a bad memory. We often associate fragrances with memories. Since this reminds me of a bad one, it's a pass for me. But if this challenging scent piques your interest, get a sample and decide for yourself.

It's much too barbecue for my taste.

I've seen the Russian art-house movie that served as the reference for the scent (see description above). In a disturbingly psychoanalytical manner, Chetyre the movie explores such controversial topics as sex work, militarism, and death. But Chetyre the fragrance is not as shocking as one may expect from the rebellious Prin Lomros – which is a relief for me. The long list of notes could be summarised as pine tree, herbs and coal tar soap. Other highlights are the notes of wormwood, galbanum, smoke, and salty pine needles – they all contribute to Lomros' signature "heaviness" and "thickness" of this magic potion. I imagine this could be the smell of a Slavic banya, where magic forest's pagan creatures would bath. Longevity and projection are both quite high.

Vintage cuir de russsie overlaid with green forest tones and iodine bandages and liver-spotted grandpa skin. Kind of imagine the eldest leader of an 80s era leather bar dom-daddy to wear this. Undeniably grandpa but unapologetic, brash, subversive, and sexual with a classic and educated edge. Usually grandpa is tired and dusty. This grandpa is still liable to be found in a secret basement somewhere with techno blasting and he’s probably peeing on a guy half his age

I built up this whole narrative of smoldering campfires in swampy, primordial forests while sampling this. When I asked my partner what they thought they said it smells like an incense shop in Omaha that sells dragon figurines, and now I can’t unsmell it.

This is an amazing combo of greasy leather accord, smoke, woods, aldehydes, and mosses. This is what Chanel Cuir de Russie should have been, and wishes it was. I showed this to my 80's bottle of Cuir de Russie and it evaporated.
