Emerald Curry

Despite the name and notes Emerald Curry is a familiar greyish-green profile of fig leaves, fig milk and a dry, refreshing vetiver. The only curveballs here are a lactonic coconut accord and a tangy twist of lemongrass, but both are too subtle to disrupt the overall pleasant harmony of the scent. In fact, I like the contrast of the lemongrass a lot and wish it was more pronounced. Those curious or fearful of a “curry” fragrance are sure to either be disappointed or quelled, depending on their feelings about the name. Despite it resembling a fig scent more than a green curry scent, I really like this and am considering buying a bottle. An hour in it loses most of the green and milky notes and becomes a cozy sandalwood skin scent. Oh yeah...I think it was ‘Fig My Love’ by The Zoo that this reminds me of. 3.5 out of 5

this is sososososo bad :( i really wanted to like this, but it just is a gross smell that lingers in your nose like hot glue

Emerald Curry smells like what you'd get if a perfumer juiced up the faded cover art for Ursula K. Le Guin's The Word for World Is Forest, painted by the surrealist paperback visionary Richard Powers: drowned in green, a wet watercolor green pooling into the tooth of the paper, celadon blooming, chlorophyll bleeding, virescent, grassy and algal, wet-on-wet, fading at the periphery, granulating in the shadows. Lemongrass bright and soapy and sharp, makrut lime peel resinous and pithy, the aromatic ghost of it rather than the juice. The raw grassy bitterness of green chile flesh, no heat, just the verdancy. Cardamom piney and slightly medicinal. Holy basil drifting through, sweet-anise, almost there, already gone. A tangle of pale fronds, blossoms or spores or some secret mycological third thing. The tourmaline halo of private sylvan sun.
