Hayra

Esoteric scent, watery and incensy.

Somewhere between green, blue, and brown. At first a long-forgotten swamp monster emerges out of a bayou and is then greeted by worshippers who clean it down with a blend of witch-doctor distilled plant extracts and a heavy dose of oakmoss. In the opening, it shares some similarities with Ahuizotl by the same perfumer but quickly departs and becomes more oakmossy and more incensey. This is a perfume that changes a lot over the course of it's 6-10 hour life and I could imagine it changing a lot depending on your skin chemistry. I would say, not really suitable for the office and honestly I am not sure when this would be appropriate to wear. It is not 'offensive' but it is a tad weird. 7/10 but ultimately not for me

At first chypre oakmoss, but then morphs musky animalic. Softens, very nice.

Way too foody for me, in Sweden we have something called ”grillkrydda” which you use on fries for example, it’s kind of reminiscent of that. Not something I would want to wear.

Hayra is a beautiful bizarre aquatic unlike anything I’ve smelled before. Fresh basil, cilantro, cumin, celery seed and other interesting herbs create this strange aquatic scent that feels unique and entirely original. Is it a green fougere? A blue incense? An oakmoss bomb? Much like the amphibious mythological creature known to lurk both land and water, Hayra is many different things all at once. What might seem chaotic is beautifully harmonious and filled with exciting twists and turns. The opening sees a lot of spices and a sense of “blue” aquatics yet the heart is a huge dose of powdery fresh oakmoss that quickly turns the scent turquoise before full on green. It’s interesting how a scent can trigger olfactory synesthesia. The base turns woodsy with thick waves of Prin’s famous incensed DNA. This one is worth sampling although I’m not sure it will have a place on my shelf as a full bottle. A totally unique offering and one that I hope is given the time of day with all the Prin releases of 2020

Growing up in South East East Asia, i often went to Chinese temple with my grandma and mother. The smoke and incense aroma will make a big welcome when i stepped in the temple. There were a lot of flowers and fruits in the temple, but what i could get was always the green smells of the flower stems and unripe fruits. This temple impression will never complete with a touch of watery smell, maybe from the old demp wood or a small pond at the side of the temple. Prissana Hayra has all the element of a Chinese temple in my memory. The spices and incense, the green guava and slight touch of ambergris accord, bring the environment around me when i wore this perfume. Coincidently, this perfume matches perfectly with the character of mystical creature Hayra. Full bottle worthy for me.

Very soft, herbaceous silky perfume that is leaning towards floral and slightly smoky on my skin. The opening is definitely jasmin without being indolic and unpleasant. It develops more and more herbaceous. Eventually the drydown is woody and delicate smoky without pushing the boundaries in any way. Surely it has oriental touch to it. Good lngevity and sillage. I appreciate it for what it is, but is not my type of a fragrance. Moreover, I think it suits better for women.

i get such a strong whiff of cumin in the opening that i don't dare to try this on my skin.... certainly not unpleasant to smell on the tester strip and actually has a really pleasant spicy-medicinal camphorous quality to it, but i just know this will smell awful on me (cumin does not agree w my skin).
