Karuna (กรุณา)

I love this so much. Karuna is an explosion of pure, natural floral incense, an earthy Asian scent, specifically from Thailand and all the islands around it, like Sri Lanka. It's skillfully mixed with a perfect combination of incense, spices, plants, fruits, and a hundred other elements. Is that spectacular? It's absolutely complicated to even explain, but this is what's at the core, in the purest form possible. This is how ancient gods used to smell and use this scent; it has an energy that radiates, probably dictated by the insane quality of oils used in here. Not only does it have a deep and evolving trajectory, but it's also consistent, and you can literally feel the lifespan of the scent evolving with you. Being from Asia, I know exactly what he's talking about. When you're near the temple, you can already feel this smell coming close to you, but it's more flowers than anything at first – I underline, "the purest form" of those flowers. Once you enter, this exact smell of thousands of flowers singing to you draws you inside. The different incenses lit up, all creating beautiful smoke curves that create mystery. When I felt it for the first time, my brain literally went back to my 12-year-old experience of that moment. I remember washing my face using a bowl where all these white flowers were, and this is the exact scent I felt, or at least, I think I felt. This is the first scent in my life that took me to an exact moment and a memory. I remember my grandmother was with me, and all I was thinking was how magical that place was. I had no clue or perception of Buddhism or religion in general, but that was a strong memory. In other words, this is like putting your face in that beautiful water bowl smelling like white and yellow flowers, as pure as you think, and then taking your head out and feeling all the incense contrasted with the warm air and the spices used in the kitchens next to the temple – something real, tangible, and out of this world. The flowers are clearly the stars at first, but the choice of incense combination is masterful. Turmeric, nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon – all follow, blending with the spices, giving this unique contrast. It lasts very long and evolves slowly, sweet but not too sweet, playful and almost childlike, pure but at the same time very mature and ancient. It's spectacular when you can fly with the creator of this scent in the same place; this is the definition of magic. I've never come across something that combines all these elements with such mastery. This is one of the most complex scents I have come across. It's probably one of the hardest things to pull off because it's pure art. There must be over 50 elements here; there's nothing like this in the market. It took me a week alone to realize what this was. Prin made many of this style work, but this is his pinnacle in terms of flowers and inciense. I have no clue how anyone would react to this, but I don't really care. I'm only sure that my mother would love this one. Rest in peace, Mom. Note: Longevity is kinda weak, i suspect the first batch was way stronger, i wish it could give at leat 5h, but is just 1h of power, and the next 2hrs is a skin scent absolutely fading away wich is a shame couting the price, and the incredible work.

One of the few reasons why I love Prim's work is that he uses his imagination, skills and with great ingredients, he creates a fragrance which takes someone like me into a scent memory. This fragrance takes me straight to warm bazaars and souks filled with juicy fruits, dense incense, rich spices and exotic flowers. From Rajasthan to Dubai, the old and the new oriental markets bottled into Karuna. I love my fragrances to be distinct and Karuna is well blended which makes it a stand out for me. I love the aldehyde opening and on my skin the tangerine is present throughout but I only tested it during the summer. The floral with the civet takes the background although I am intrigued on how Karuna changes during autumn and winter. For now, I love Karuna for its quality and the scent memory it takes me to.

Spirituality in a bottle! Divine smell. Above average longevity and unique spiritual scent profile. Experienced it blossom during the evenings and in cooler conditions. Shukran Habibi!

this is an interesting perfume. it's very green and spicy. i feel like i am getting a lot of bay leaf and some angelica, woods and aldehydes. the florals are hard to identify. it's like a humid, green, spicy perfume. very evocative and i want to try this in warmer weather, i think more notes may emerge then. ETA: tried in warm weather and it was too overwhelming. i don't know what to think about this one!

This is an absolute beauty. Not easy to wear for everyone, but beautiful. Opens with tons of champaca and turmeric and other spices (but predominantly turmeric). Instantly transports you to South East Asian countryside. I guess not everybody would like to smell like that but I do! The florals, the spices, all very natural and realistic. Slowly, a puffy animalic musk emerges as the spices fade away and what's left in the dry down is a uniquely alluring scent - something like a grandmotherly snug or a wool coat. It's the smell of warmth and happiness and peace. I love both the opening and closing phases of this.
