Cotton Candy

I love this. It smells like that dense heated sugar TASTE of freshly made cotton candy, as it melts on your tongue... not the airy artificial interpretation that other perfumes have that is reminiscent of nitrous oxide. This is smoky, a little musky, infused with plenty of caramel and vanilla... and although it’s kind of simple, it’s a perfect uber-gourmand in my book. It’s just so yummy. I don’t get any coconut, btw, just smoked sugar with vanilla. It kind of smells like tonka in its character. I much prefer this over Bianco Latte (and also others I group into the same category, like Escapade Gourmande or Indult Tihota). I’ve been trying to find a straightforward caramel-esque gourmand for awhile, and the others never quite hit the mark. This one is my favorite right now of the simple foodie gourmands. Edit: Been wearing this from a full bottle for several weeks, and I don’t know if it’s the bigger spray or the cold weather, but it’s giving butterscotch :)

A Burnt Sugar, Caramel affair and one I find well done - the notes could read juvenile but in reality the notes feel darkened and soft wrapped in an airiness that is far from a sticky overly sweet caramel you may expect. I think some of the softness is coming from the coconut milk which I didn't catch in my first wears, it actually becomes more present in the dry down than the opening. It is a lovely coconut too - it's warm and reads a bit like lotion with how smooth and subtle it is. As far as the name goes, don't pick this up expecting cotton candy itself but rather the smell of melting hot sugar emerging from the machine picked up by a breeze bringing that distant smell toward your nose. A very safe gourmand, familiar, not cloying, quite unisex and versatile. This isn't a perfume I'll be rushing to get a bottle of for now but I am enjoying my sample!

Private Mood Cotton Candy smells like Omnia Madera and Bianco Latte had a baby. Cocoa-nutty caramel vanilla goodness! I do not pick up any cotton candy in this perfume. The bottle is a gorgeous opaque white bottle and the cap is golden and weighty but the label is a sticker on the front and that kinda bums me out. But I absolutely love the perfume so I am willing to look past the sticker label. Cotton Candy lasts 12+ hours on me so it has amazing staying power! It gives a closer scent bubble when I am wearing it, and is very cozy and comforting, which I think suits the brand name, Private Mood ;) Super happy to have this yummy vanilla in my collection! Edited to add: pair Cotton Candy with Delizia Di Marshmallow (Kyse) and Choco Musk oil and you will smell like the most delectable waffle cone ever. Thank me later ;)

i came into this expecting gorgeous freshly spun cotton candy, i didn't get that + the name is kinda misleading BUT... this has turned out to be one of my favourite caramel perfumes! it's a gorgeous, dense, ooey-gooey, gourmand dream typa caramel. i get slight hints of melted sugar too, so i guess i can sort of vaguely understand where the cotton candy name came from, but still. this is just such a delicious realistic caramel scent, i love it! very dense, mouth watering, and the vanilla + caramelised sugar just makes me wanna bite my arm. if only i could smell the coconut note though, that would make this fragrance even better

This doesn't really smell like cotton candy to me, more like maple doughnuts and warm buttery brown sugar. I really like it. It smells delicious, very sweet. It would love to wear this on vacation in Vermont.🍁 Update: The drydown is a love for me. It's a realistic caramel. No obnoxious chemical smells coming through. The name of this fragrance should be Caramel Candy instead.

i get ZERO cotton candy & the name is misleading. but, this ended up being one of my favorite frags! it’s a gourmand, DENSE caramel + vanilla. i don’t get any coconut. SUPER SWEEEET + strong so if u don’t like those types of scents, don’t buy.

This does not smell like cotton candy! If you’re looking for a cotton candy scent I would pass on this. It is a gourmand though and it mainly smells like sweet caramel but ZERO cotton Candy.

Musky Caramel - powdery. Not really cotton candy.

I own a sample, and the first day I sampled it I liked it. I sampled it again and its a no from me. It is extremely cloying and headache inducing. Also, I tested on an empty stomach and it made me nauseous. I wouldn't call this Cotton Candy, I would change the name to CARAMEL EXTREME. It is a pure caramel fragrance. Which I normally do like. But the notes aren't that balanced. So, I would say to test this one before you buy. And if you do, maybe spray lightly and don't overspray. I am going to test it out a third time. But for now, I think I my senses are experiencing a diabetic coma. In the likes of this perfume, I would recommend Madera by Omnia Profumo or Dulce by Rosie Jane.

Burnt caramel, powdery patchouli and wine. Yep, that’s what I’m picking up and agree the the name is misleading. Cotton Candy is indeed a Uber sweet scent, but still a wearable one. Not quite to my liking so a pass.

I SO wanted to try this and I was REALLY hoping to like this fragrance. Smells like taking grandma's hanky out of her top drawer after it's been in there for sometime amongst mothballs. Cotton Candy has got to be the LEAST SWEET fragrance with the word "CANDY" in its title that I've ever sampled, tried, owned, or worn. Perhaps there is something wrong with my decant but I immediately detect sour, spun, burnt sugar followed by camphor, or a scent reminiscent of mothballs, I swear. A bit of caramel, I suppose. But for me, this fragrance wears VERY DRY, quite POWDERY, burnt, sour and rancid. I mean, there is nothing remotely sweet, or fluffy, or uplifting about it. Lots of back-seat musk. Ugh.... Awful, wretched stuff. Cannot imagine who would want to wear this and WHY someone would want to walk around smelling like this. Into the garbage it goes...This stuff is dreadful, it really is.

the name of this fragrance is very misleading compared to how it actually smells. i get absolutely no cotton candy and no vanilla either, to be honest. the caramel here is a quite lactonic one rather than a buttery, creamy one. i’m disappointed bc i was so excited to try this one!

I love cotton candy. This is not cotton candy. This is burnt sugar and coconut. To be fair, the ad copy admits to this but then also declares it the "pure scent of cotton candy". Some actual carnival reconnaissance should have been undertaken.

No No No, just go to Walmart & buy Body Fantasies if you are looking for straight up Cotton Candy,, this ain't it!

I wish I sampled this before I bought a full bottle. But I very rarely do that. By the time you pay taxes and shipping one tiny sample costs so much. That’s my fault. This smells like the brand was heavily inspired by Bianco latte which is a scent I already have (as does everyone else now!) it smells like they literally tried to mimic it, but changed the notes to make it seem different. I get absolutely no coconut, no cotton candy... to me Bianco latte almost has a cotton candy vibe just because it’s so airy and fluffy. This is dense and thick. It smells like they used cheaper ingredients, and added a cap full of nail polish remover to it. It instantly gave me a headache. It just smells really really synthetic and cheap. Also, the sticker on the bottle is awful, it arrived half peeled off. The atomizer is stiff and almost doesn’t work? It sort of just squirts it harshly. BTW I bought this brand new from scentsplit. Safe to say I’m not impressed. It was headache inducing and sooo thick and dense. This would be absolutely cloying in the summertime. I shouldn’t have spent $150 on it ugh. I’m soo disappointed because the notes looked right up my alley. Coconut, cotton candy, caramel, vanilla, musk... I loveeee those notes. All I smell is thick dense cheap artificial vanilla. Not good! Also - I almost ordered berrylicious and velvet coco because they sounded divine. So glad I didn’t because I’m not sure if I can trust them to be good. I understand fragrance is subjective and you won’t like every scent from a house, but it isn’t just the scent, it’s the way everything about this feels cheap. From bottle to the scent. Also it’s not very long lasting.

Reminds me a lot of Ariana Grande Cloud without the burnt plastic scent. Smells of higher quality without a strong lactonic element, mostly I get the combination of coconut and caramelized sugar, almost buttery and like popcorn. Very much a decadent true gourmand that settles into the skin to a feminine amber vanilla scent balanced with some musk. It did not have insignificant sillage and projection, enough to notice, but nothing dramatic. It's not unique in any way, I feel like this is the kind of scent you've seen done over and over and it's kind of played out. Not something that makes you think OMG! I smell so good, just lackluster... The dry down is preferable and slightly nutty. I only got Cotton Candy upon first whiff but never again. Wish the name felt more relevant!

I love sweet fragrances and I was sure I would love this based on the notes. However, this one is sweet on diabetes level. Lol Imagine you're at a fair, you walk to the cotton candy stand and as soon as they start pouring the sugar, the wind blows that hot sugar air straight to your face. This is exactly how this fragrance smells like. You HAVE to like extremely sugary fragrances to like this one! I don't get any of the coconut in the opening, the caramel is present in the dry down but again, extremely sweet. It's not a bad fragrance, just way too sweet for me. Overall: 6/10

To my nose this smells as if you took Poison Girl and added in a bunch of caramel and spun sugar. At first I was like meh and put it away for a few days. Then suddenly I tried it again and I'm totally hooked. I crave it even when it's not on me. It's totally sweet without being cloying or sickly. It's just beautiful. This doesn't have layers and is pretty linear and can be layered to make certain scents sweeter. I'm going to buy a full bottle (although I do think for this type of scent, it's a bit overpriced) and layer it with Vanitas.

Very musky very....perfumey. I don’t sense cotton candy is in the room with us. I’ve decided this house just ain’t for me and that’s ok. Edit: this scent has grown on me. Still not a love. But I didn’t recoil upon revisiting like I did initially. Smelled it on a warm day with the door open and fresh air coming in and it smelled a lot sweeter and vanillic and soft and quite pleasant. Still not a full bottle worthy scent for me but definitely not unpleasant. Just maybe a bit mature for my personal taste.

I want a linear one note cotton candy scent to layer over other fragrances I have, in hopes to create a BR alternative type when layering over other fragrances. But this has more going on with caramel over cotton candy with a faint musk type; very nice on its own but not what I’m looking for in layering terms. I wish it didn’t have the caramel note. This is soft and is more of a skin scent. It’s not overly saccharine so it doesn’t cross the border into gourmand.

Oh this is absolutely GORGEOUS. The vanilla is the immediate note you pick up on. Really strong and rich. It’s warm and cozy. The coconut makes it slightly nutty with a fun little zest. The caramel, man, gooey sweet and WARRRM. Like the most perfect caramel out there. This is just absolutely gorgeous. You need to enjoy sweet scents for this and honestly I love every bit of it. So so good.

Same dna as perfumes like Bianco latte and Madera omnia but with a bit more of a caramel heavy scent. I also love that this doesn’t have that plastic artificial coconut smell that those two have. I wish I found this one first I’m definitely buying a full bottle. Think Bianco latte but zero plastic note with caramel and vanilla sweetness added.

The first time I sprayed this I was disappointed. I expected it to smell more like the name. I got a blast of caramel in stead. Revisiting it though it has grown on me quite a bit. It’s sweet and smoky. I guess maybe the name is coming from that slight burnt sugar smell? I do get some similarities to Omnia Madera but I prefer Madera.

Light lingering burnt sugar with a really nice cotton candy but realistically so. Not too sickly sweet or strong (there are those who will argue this point). I could bathe in this but it would barely linger by morning but can I just smell it one more time? Hmm.

For me it has something in common with Vanextasy, Bianco Latte, and Madera - some plasticky note, or glue note. It's not horrible, but not something I'd reach out. From the perfume called "Cotton candy" I expected more sweetness and not plasticky smokiness.

Nicely done but, to jump on the bandwagon, this is caramel w/ a misleading name. You wonder who is doing the marketing/product management for Private Mood? I am an American willing to work for cheap and name your perfumes, Private Mood. PM me.

Not getting any cotton candy vibes, I get mostly tonka bean which isn't a listed note. Their other fragrance Berrylicious is more close to actual cotton candy in the drydown and smells really nice.

i agree with the review under me. Smells like caramel. I don't percieve this as cotton candy though. Good ol' trusty gourmande. Uncomplicated and cozy. Intimate scent bubble for me.

This is definitely caramel and vanilla heavy...think a caramel cookie. It’s unexpected for the name but I’m not mad at it!
