So Vanilla

Lovely scent. After you spray it, you get a really fresh and zesty orange aroma (the kind you use for baking) mixed with a very powdery vanilla. After about 10 minutes the orange fades and you are left with an even stronger, powdery vanilla. Smells alot like Holidays by Mancera without the coconut and alot sweeter. Theres also something spicy very faint in the background. In the drydown the powdery and "fluffy" turns into deep and creamy and it's just heavenly. Perfomance is really good and I'm glad i bought it. Have a great day! :)

They should have chosen a better name. So Vanilla??? If you didn’t read the notes, it would give the impression that it would be a strong, plain vanilla. It’s so much more than that. This is gonna knock Lira out of my collection and take its place as my favorite citrus-caramel-cake scent. The gingerbread note MAKES it. Not a spicy fragrance by any means though. Mouthwatering, round, smooth, and even more edible than Lira. Dulcis in Fundo also falls flat compared to this in my opinion.

I blind bought 6 different vanillas, this one is the only one I absolutely ADORED. It's absolutely beautiful. Definitely not as citrusy as I thought which is a good thing because I'm not a fan of very citrusy scents. It's really beautifully blended. Kind of smells like cotton candy as well. It's a different kind of vanilla imo, something you won't find in almost any vanilla perfume out there. I hate when all vanillas are so similar between each other, and this one is not!

Super consigliato agli amanti dei gourmand! L'apertura è fresca e agrumata (scorza di arancia). La nota del pan di zenzero è pungente, per qualche secondo potrebbe pizzicare il naso, ma è piacevole. Sweet citrusy and distinctive. I get gingerbread vibes now and then. First time I used it I was smelling my wrist every hour. Very moderate sillage and 5 to 6 hours lasting on my skin. Beautifully blended.

Triggers memories of the children’s medicine Calpol but I love it and can’t stop sniffing my tester. I find this more interesting than Lira as someone who isn’t a huge fan of citrus notes.

A creamy grown-up vanilla I think you could get away with at work. Gingerbread crumbles, light florals and hints of lemon at first drying down to a mellow orange. It's not as fun or surprising as Akro Bake (which I've tested along side as a citrus caramel), but a more serious and wise older sister. Citrus caramels tested today in order of favs: 1. Bake (Akro) - Mouth watering. The first gourmand perfume I've wanted to eat. Almost literally delicious. 2. Caramel Days (Cray-on) Fresh, uplifting florals and caramel 3. So Vanilla (Private Mood) -Grown-up vanilla, gingerbread crumbles and mellow orange. 4. Disumano (Morph) - Alcohol, sugar, synthetic caramel and a prickly wood dry-down.

This is a basic vanilla with a hint of citrus. It’s nice, nothing special though. I don’t get any gingerbread or patchouli (thank god!) from this at all. I really wanted a gingerbread vanilla so this was a big disappointment for me. It may just be my sense of smell is shot due to having covid so many times. Who knows. I sold my bottle on anyway.

A grown-up gourmand, with all the elements instantly recognizeable but dialed back and not sugary sweet. Citrus and a soft sprinkle of spice give this something extra without overpowering.

Not impressed at all.. To my nose, So Vanilla smells very powdery, artificial and saccharine sweet. Cheap and childish, like a celebrity scent not a niche one. I associate this instantly with the way that sweeteners taste in a drink that says 0 sugar on the tin, instead of having the real thing. Also, I find it very light and fleeting. Not getting any other notes in this besides a very basic, powdery vanilla. There are so many better vanillas than So Vanilla in 2023 to choose from, it’s a pass. Not worth the money in my opinion! I really hope Dulcis in Fundo is better than this. I know Devotion is, I have sampled it a few times and it’s a bit more complex and deep.

I only tried a little .7ml sample but it starts out with a strong medicinal citrus. Its orange but almost reads like cherry for a second, like cough syrup, but that only lasts a moment and then it changes to an orange vanilla. it reminds me a bit of Lush Karma, of which i am not a fan. It must be the type of orange they used because I'm usually a huge citrus fan, just not this citrus. it softens soon and dries down to a much less screechy, almost creamy citrus but I don't love it on my skin. Is it a plastic doll smell at the final dry down? Not sure what is that is... but its interesting.

Sweet lemon and vanilla tea with gentle gingerbread. Very nice. Not very strong. Somewhere between intimate and moderate in sillage. Scent and sillage is delicate.

The gingerbread note is dominant and this vanilla smells like a good scent for a home candle. An easy pass from me.

So Vanilla is a creamy blend of vanilla and patchouli rounded out by sugary citrus notes. This perfume primarily leans feminine, but the patchouli does give it a slight masculine edge. It smells super cute at first, like a pink starburst or a creamsicle, but gradually deepens into a sensual, confident black licorice before drying down to a a boozy patchouli vanilla. I don’t find it to be overly cloying or unbearably musky, though on the dry down it does start to veer into the eartheir profile that’s typical of many patchouli scents. I had hoped for a more pronounced gingerbread note, but to my nose, it’s smothered by the neroli and vanilla. Projection/sillage is above average. To me, this perfume gives off a similar vibe to one of my faves- Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy, but So Vanilla is less girlish, more mature. While it does smell really good, it’s too intense and sultry for me.

The patchouli is dominant on my skin.

Love this gourmand! It opens up very bright with a very sweet zingy orange note (not a lemon cleaner type of citrus, btw — it’s super sweet and not very fresh to my nose), and then almost immediately, the creamy vanilla kicks in, though the orange remains throughout. This is stuuuuunning. Moderate performance, could be a bit louder but I still absolutely love it. The drydown is where the patchouli starts to become more prominent but you still smell the orangey vanilla. For people who like sweet cakey orange vanilla gourmands, this is one to try! I can see why it’s compared to DG Devotion, Xerjoff Lira, and Akro Bake as it definitely falls within that type of “vanilla citrus gourmands” but I don’t think this is a dupe for any of them so I don’t personally find this perfume to be redundant in my collection.

This perfume is elegantly sexy ✨ Although it makes me think of a “pretty woman”, I can still appreciate this on a man. Very well blended, once dried down the sweetness is slightly muted to my nose, making it a good choice for any occasion really - a good all rounder. It’s not a screamer.. (and I’m usually drawn to those), but it’s good enough for me to invest in a FB as it’s deliciously smooth. Signature scent worthy, especially if you don’t want to smell like everyone else. It seems as though this gem is well hidden! 💎

Nice citrusy creamy vanilla, for me it's close to Franck Bouclet's Vanille, but here there's a note that I cannot put my finger on that it more screetchy. I cannot detect patchouli, so if you afraid of them - it's undetectable.

This fragrance is strangely prominently patchouli & gingerbread with a hint of a citrusy vanilla. Not at all Christmas-like. Love the playfulness of this fragrance.

I don't know, this one smells more like cotton candy to me than their cotton candy scent, which smells like burnt sugar. Love both

Vanilla with marked lemon first on, dries to a nice vanilla ice cream scent. Not hugely loved though, just nice.

Nice but largely a dead ringer for Dulcis in Fundo.
