Blend Afgano

Love this. Feels resin-y...cannabis not so much but a touch of espresso sure. incense and oud yup. I also have desert Aoud (Very soft Tuscan leather..very nice) and Boise Dores (VEry Soft Iris)....didnt really like Bois at first but grew on me once i realized it was Iris and not rose. I didnt understand Desert Aoud at first but when i realized was Tuscan Leather clone it all made sense...So nice. Blend Afgano is awesome if u love scents like Encre Noire/ Encre Noire Extreme but it has more personality than those. Not as existential lol. Very masculine. Kicks ass Ahhh update....Has a funny note...which i just realized is fecal....ahem...like leather pushed just a little too far. but works layered

Lovely fragrance. I get the hashish note straight from the opening and it stays with me throughout the lifecycle, which stands with mild projection for about 8 hours on my skin, applying generously. There is no evolution to speak of and the constant detectable notes are Hashish and Labdanum, both not listed. The fragrance is light by design, though persistent, and it'll please all middle east fragrance lovers, like I am. It'll work all year 'round but it may be unpleasant during hot summer days and night. i'd say don't use it if ambient temperature rises above 22/24 °C Office safe, in my experience. A great buy, in my case.

This is one of my new favorites. I think it only somewhat resembles Black Afgano, but it's a near duplicate of Fragrenza Black Oud. I don't really get cannabis or Hashish from it, but I do like the dark, smoky and slightly sweet profile. If the longevity was better it would be nearly perfect for me.

If, like me, you're in search of a good clone of Nasomatto's epochal Black Afgano, this might actually half satisfy you. Important tip, though: give it some time. When I got it I sprayed it once and thought it was just another mediocre Dubai oud. I couldn't pick up on its finer points. I packed it in the box to send it back for a refund, but then found out I'd have to pay postage which was almost the same price as the bottle. So I begrundgingly took it back home and thought it'd make a nice gift to someone. Turns out I'm keeping it to myself but it took me a few weeks to make friends with it. It's built around a typical Arabic oud-bakhoor perfume base - that same kind of synthetic stanky oud which you find in a lot of these Dubai houses, and is quite appealing, but it also has somewhat of sickly-sweet quality, though perhaps only to my especially sweetness-intolerant nose. There is no hashish note, and that's fine, there isn't one in the original Nasomatto creation either. But the original is a sublime creation of true art, partly because it still manages to evoke that narcotic, spiritual transporting quality. Blend Afgano does manage to get around halfway to the same kind of place, to be honest. It's a sweeter, less avant-garde and therefore more accessible/wearable. They don't really smell that similar, but they cover a similar terrain and to a casual bystander would put them both in the same box as a 'dark, smoky, oudy oriental' although clearly the Nasomatto is superior in quality. The opening in particular is a sparkling pleasure, though it does dry down to a skin scent quite soon (or perhaps my nose just becomes anosmic). It's really a pretty good perfume. On the related note of Black Afgano-inspired fragrances, thus far I've also tried Mad et Len's "Black Afghan", which isn't a Nasomatto clone but moreso a peer which goes in a more rustic leathery direction. Very rare these days - you can read my review of it. But as for my search for a good clone of Nasomatto's overpriced classic (I wouldn't buy the current weaker formulation - it's not worth the high price)... it continues. Next on the list is Perfume Parlour's "Strong Pashtun" and I'd also like to try Alexandria's "Anubis Kiss" and Dua's "Hades' Elixir". As for value, I got my 80ml bottle for $35 here in Denmark Europe - it'll almost certainly be cheaper anywhere else. I'll probably get the original Nasomatto holy grail at some point, but when a respectable clone like this is 12x cheaper, you have to wonder if it's worth it.

This is a weird one. I wanted a black afgano clone, because I love the fragrance and I hate the pricetag I've tried several and this is probably the worst, it's not as much of a dupe as it is an interpretation. This is exactly one I imagine when people say it reminds me of, not it smells like. The start has some similar notes, but it's pretty far from the mark. It kind of smells like coca cola and tabacco, It's not bad, but I really haven't smelled anything like it, including Black afgano and black afgano dupes, the biggest thing that I can note is that it doesn't have the depth of black afgano, this smells a lot more basic with less ingredients and a lot weaker. After the dry down it actually becomes a lot more similar to black afgano, it still doesn't have the depth and lacks the sweetness, but It's honestly not bad, especially considering the price. All and all not great dupe, but not a bad fragrance, I still like it, it is similar enough especially in the drydown for people who do love Black Afgano and are not rich.

I agree with @omarmizdaq below. More importantly, my pocketbook thanks me. This fraghead business is addictive and could be detrimental 🤣. But with a little restraint I can still have some fun. I know this isn't Black Afgano. Got it. But this is a mere fraction of the cost. $20 at that. Performance is great. I dig the fragrance. Not harsh or challenging. I do not pick up the cannabis heavy. I get more of the resinous oud feel with a slight hint of tobacco and coffee. I mean slight. I say get it. For the price you can try it and give it as a gift if you don't like it. Or you can send it to me. I will find a use for it. So agreeing with RASQTR, it is a cheap plot. But a cheap plot that i like while I dream of splurging for Black Afgano.

Smells foul. Not a good fragrance blend at all, smells funky and has no depth, liniar, bad from start to finish tbh with no notes prominent. For me, not worth at all. Smelled Black Afgano and it has nothing in common aside from being smoky, but the quality is just not there. If you enjoy darker frags, something cheaper/around the same price and leagues above this is, take a look into Lalique Encre Noir, not even comparable imo.

This does not smell like Black Afgano. Dont waste your money. It is realy bad.

I was very curious on getting an ideea of how Black Afgano smells like so i got a sample of Blend Afgano from Paris Corner. I don't know how close the reproduction is but i don't find it challenging at all. I heard so many horror stories of Black Afgano and from my point of view its overdramatic. Anyway, onto the scent of Blend Afgano. Its a dark spicy, ambery, resinous fragrance. It opens up with sharp spices and oud that progresses into a dark yet comforting resinous drydown. The scent gets progressively sweeter and friendlier. The oud is not the skanky type and not entirely medicinal eighter, just a simple dark woody oud. Interestingly, on my second testing is when im picking up on the cannabis note but you have to look for it and it only emerges in the opening. I didn't pick it up at all on the first testing. Believe it or not, i could see Blend Afgano work as a date-night fragrance aswell.

In my opinion this doesn’t really resemble Black Afghano or Byredo Mumbai Noise at all. It’s a lot closer to Tobacco Mandarin which I’m also very familiar with. They even share the same bluntness after the opening with presence of an overripe, almost gone-bad mandarins at the back of a closed wooden cabinet. This really isn’t bad at all for the price. And the sweetness makes it perfectly unisex. But only for the ladies like myself who can appreciate a more masculine fragrance.

Nothing in comparison with Black Afgano. Just a far association within the scents profile. How people understand the "remind me" option?
