Bois Dorès

I'm going to trust that note pyramid because the one note that's missing in this fragrance that would've taken it very close to Bois d'Argent is iris. Sadly iris is not in Bois Dores. The Dior has the perfect balance of notes but it's the iris that makes it the gem that it is. Bois Dores is still a splendid fragrance. It has a powdery, incense, woody scent profile. Quite a calming perfume actually. The bones of Bois d'Argent are present but the lack of iris is what takes it in another direction. Both men and women can wear this. Lasts around 10 to 12 hours on me. The presentation mimics the Dior - excellent for the $20 to $30 you'll spend.

Oh my....I feel like this is on the way to becoming a classic. I blind bought this as a full bottle from Frangrancenet and I'm SO glad I did. Creamy amber and wood with a vaguely sweet but definitely woodsy and suede drydown. This is going to be a fall and winter staple for me. VERY elegant, VERY warm and VERY inoffensive. Although everyone's chemistry works differently with fragrance (and on me this is perfection) I can't imagine someone not liking this. I imagine I'll get a LOT of compliments on this one...

Was looking for a clone of Bois D’Argent and came cross this. Was a bit odd to start off but the dry down is perfect. Happy with my purchase for 1/5th if the price.

This is such an amazing fragrance it’s slightly sweet and powdery, very ambery and aromatic. The first thing I smell at the top is juniper berries, I know it’s not listed but it’s there! It’s the same juniper berry from Courreges - Slogan. This is a unisex fragrance that leans slightly masculine... perfect for the cooler months and early spring in my opinion. For me this is a 8.5/10 that layers great with so many other perfumes, I love to layer with Zadig&Voltaire- This is her.

The pyramid up on Fragrantica has Orris Bois Dorès is a winner also layers great with other perfumes like butter. Top notes: frankincense; Middle notes: Somali myrrh, Indonesian patchouli, Florentine iris; Base notes: amber, woody notes, honey, leather, white musk.
