Senza Tempo by Profumi Di Polignano opens with an invigorating, almost frosty freshness, thanks to the sharp, cooling effect of absinthe. Upon the first spray, there's a crisp, herbal brightness that feels cool in the nostrils, not unlike the sensation of mint, but driven by the combination of absinthe’s wormwood and anise. This sharp freshness sets the stage beautifully for what’s to come. As it begins to evolve, subtle hints of lavender emerge in the background, providing a soft, floral-herbaceous touch. While cumin, leather, and black pepper are present in the heart, they are so well-blended that none of these notes take center stage. The leather lends a soft, smooth texture, and the pepper adds a whisper of spice, but they stay restrained, working in harmony rather than standing out individually. The fragrance then transitions into a captivating drydown, where rich, aromatic dried fruits take over at least that's how my nose perceives the smell, like dried fruits. This stage of the scent is beautifully balanced with a warm, comforting sweetness from tonka bean and benzoin, creating a smooth and slightly gourmand finish that lingers elegantly on the skin.
