Glaze Ecstacy Vs Buontalenti Glaze Ecstacy (GE) comes off smoother, better blended while Buontalenti (BT) is sharper with a fruity burst in the opening, this lasts about a minute then it calms down a bit. GE comes across as a creamy vanilla and strawberry ice cream swirl (think soft serve) with a strawberry glaze on top. For some reason I do not get the raspberry listed in the notes for both of these, it comes off as strawberries on me). BT is more like a frosty— still has ice cream but has about equal amounts of ice cream and fruits, so the fruitiness is front and center— the most prominent notes on me being the (straw)berry and a hint of banana (very faint), and later in the development, apricot. It also reminds me of those chewy vanilla-strawberry candies. As they dry down, the vanilla becomes even more prominent in GE and then the caramel becomes noticeable, while the fruits in BT calm down to where you get about 50:50 vanilla to fruits, the caramel note in this one is a tad artificial-smelling. I will say these two are very similar. GE is the more sophisticated/grown-up version of the two. BT is more playful, a little ‘younger’ if you will. Ingredients-wise, GE comes across as having been made with better quality ingredients while BT has a slightly artificial quality— I think it’s the banana note, if you’ve ever had banana flavored pastries vs homemade pastries made with real bananas, you know that weird artificial banana taste, now think of that as a fragrance. Thankfully the berries and apricot keep this somewhat muted in BT. I can see myself wearing BT during the day and transitioning to GE in the evening (for a cuddle session with SO), not that GE would be classified as a night-time perfume- both are better suited to daytime use but GE would fit more intimate settings. Do you honestly truly NEED both? No. But if you’re one to catch subtle nuances in fragrances you will be able to tell the difference in both. I am glad to have both.

I apsolutely adore this. I'm not the greatest gourmand fan, might only wear them a hand full of times during the winter and autumn months here in Australia, but I have to have this in my fragrance collection. I received a 2ml sample as a gift with purchase from somewhere online over the last year and hadn't tried it until very recently. Mind was blown. Yummm! Ofcourse, now I can't get it here in Oz as it's sold out everywhere and I'm frantically looking each week to see if its back in stock. It's an amazingly blended fruity toffee desert scent that hits all my spots. Was unsure at first when I saw the banana note listed...not a like for me in the past...but if it's there, it doesn't stand out over the peach, coconut, apricot and sweet toffee and vanilla notes. This is very well blended and smooth. Not screachy or tart. Just delicious. I'm completely obsessed. 😍 Update 3/11/2024; finally got a full bottle but it's coming into summer here so will be waiting for the colder months to come around here in Australia. I find this a bit too sweet and cloying for the heat but devine in the cooler half of the year.

I have a decant that I did not use for an entire year. I have to be honest, I did not like it the first time I smelled this perfume. My first impression was to gourmandish and I didn't smell the fruits. Now after a year, I can honestly say that I really like this perfume. The first spray is when you smell the fruits, some people say that they do not smell it but after a year, I can definitely smell them and it is delicious and very nice, Then the perfume changes to more caramel, toffe, cookies (these are the base notes) and this part last forever. I will say 5 hours with just spraying 3 times on each arm. You will smell it all over you, then it becomes a skin scent. It is not a beast perfume but I only sprayed it 6 times. And it was enough for me. In summary, it is gourmand, it has a moderate performance. The notes will show up according to the order of the notes that are here in Fragrantica. You will smell them in that order. It is a very nice perfume to use it all year round.

The first ones to produce real ice cream, creamy and frozen as we know it today, were the Florentines in the 16th century. Cosimo de' Medici one day commissioned Bernardo Buontalenti to organize banquets that could amaze the King of Spain. Of all things, Buontalenti served an iced cream to which he added a very precious spice that came from the Americas: sugar. And in honor of him in Florence, what is today one of the most famous ice creams in the world was created in modern times: Buontalenti. In this fragrance, although unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to taste this delight, you can find all the characteristics of a delicious cream, worth eating, not cloying but incredibly good. A beautiful creation, and it too, like Fior di Pane, is a treasure chest of touching and innocent memories.

Wow, how can anyone hate this? It smells like you scooped coconut ice cream into a waffle cone, topped it with diced up fruit, and drizzled caramel sauce over the top. If you don’t like sweet gourmands, it’s not for you. But for gourmand lovers, this is paradise! I received a decant from a friend that had the entire package smelling like the most intoxicating, mouth-watering treat. I rifled through frantically to find the source of that deliciousness! To my dismay, there was a mere ~1ml left. Yes, you bet I immediately ordered a bottle! Honestly, I find this to be quite affordable for Italian niche. They recently raised the price from €80 to €90, but it’s still affordable for this quality and longevity.

When I say delicious, I mean DELICIOUS 💗 this is absolutely 100% for gourmand lovers only. The opening and mid of this fragrance is quite bright- I get a bit of a banana pina colada vibe but not in a heavy way, this fragrance is always light and airy, a perfect gourmand for hot summer days. In the dry down the vanilla shows up and it makes things even creamier, a bit reminiscent of a whipped berry ice cream shake- it’s not heavy the way that my description saying “ice cream shake” might imply, this stays light and airy and the dry down stays close to the skin, but lasts. And it’s more than a skin scent, I continue to smell this without trying for approx 6 hours.

I like to be immersed in my fragrance so, sometimes, it’s hard to appreciate an airy or light fragrance but this smells pretty. It reminds me of maybe blan manje 🇭🇹 or some kind of fruit cocktail. It definitely has the makings of a banana split. Dairy, vanilla, and fruity. I get a faint hint of maraschino cherries (I hate the them but it smells nice here). If you can get into your headspace, it’s trippy. But I’m not full-bottle convinced. It’s Billie Eilish-esque but less dense, which is disappointing. They both have the makings of great smelling ice cream fragrances. Buontalenti smells better. Eillish performs better. Nice to sample, broaden your palette.

What an absolutely delicious perfume! I stumbled across Buontalenti on Lucky Scent, looked up the notes, watched a few reviews, and blind bought it. And oh what a successful blind buy it was! Buontalenti smells like ice cream with bananas and other fruits for about an hour, then I get the vanilla and a little coconut, and on the dry down I get this creamy, delicious almost lactonic caramel that is so cozy and yummy! This perfume is softer and sits closer to the body when it dries down but it stays until I take a shower. If you love realistic gourmands I would say this is a must have!

One of the best gourmands of last year. Such cool banana, baked goods and red fruit/berry scent. Cranberry opening is to die for. In the end it smells like baked cookies with melted caramel. Utterly delicious and lasts me a whole day. I do get anosmic to it quite fast but this scent sticks to you like there is no tomorrow. Overall super performance and great for all year round. It gets more fruity in the summer and smells of baked goodies in fall winted. Must have and worth more that it's current price. 10 out of 10!

This is one of the very few gourmand fragrances that I can absolutely drench myself in during the summer, and I absolutely love it! It's a happy, sweet and creamy scent, not at all artificial on my skin. I get mostly pina colada, with a hint of caramelized banana and a chocolate cookie chip dry-down. I don't care that it's not the most elevated composition, I appreciate how easy to wear, delicious and ultimately uplifting it is. I have a decant and I am tempted to buy a bottle once that finishes.

Such a jewel! I came across this one as a recommendation in a comment on facebook, claiming it to be a hidden gem. Unfortunately was the only way to get it directly from Bois1920 in Italy itself which was what was holding me back at first. Only kept popping up in my mind, so I took the gamble and ordered it. Not a minute of regret! This fragrance is truly one of a kind and not really comparable with other fragrances. She’s cloyingly sweet but in a mature way. Sex appeal +100.

This is such a delicious Gourmand fragrance, it is one of the most edible smelling fragrances in my collection. When you first spray it, you can definitely smell the raspberry, apricot and ALOT of vanilla, caramel and toffee. This reminds me alot of bath and body works’s santa’s blueberry shortbread. I LOVE that body mist but unfortunately it doesn’t last long. This smells just like it but in a strong long lasting perfume form.

very very yummy. 🍦🍓🍌🍦🥥🍦🍪 Red berries, hint of coconut, vanilla creamy ice cream, hint of banana with chocolate chip cookies crumbled on top. you get the berries, banana, coconut ice creamy that settles into a chocolate chip cookie note at the base. It is a delicious yummy gourmand. I had to buy 2 bottles. fyi - does NOT smell like any of Jousset perfumes, Cheirosa 71, nor La Danza delle Libellule. who the F is voting that??

When I first tested this, I didn’t like it. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I realized that it was the banana note and I am not really familiar with banana in fragrances. But as it settled, it became a very wonderful desert like scent. I can detect the banana, the apricot, the vanilla. It’s not heavy or cloying by any means. The banana fades to the background as a More cookie note appears. I like it very much now.

On the blotter and on my clothes I feel more fresh and fruity notes (beautiful peach notes), but on my skin it becomes more flambé dessert type of scent: creamy, buttery, sweet and somewhat burnt (think burnt sugar on top of cream brûlée. I don’t actually think it’s too sweet, it’s NOT like these crazy synthetic sugary sweet scents out there, it’s more balanced. Follow me on ig: scent.guide

Unique and cute! This is for the gourmand lovers. If strawberry shortcake (the cartoon) had a smell, buontalenti would be it. Very sweet, lots of berries at the top, you can definitely tell there ́s banana. To my nose this is a juvenile, very fruity yet very CLEAN, unique, out of the shower fragrance.

I got this as a sample and i'm so surprised. Yes it's very juvenile, but the notes and the fragrance makes me so happy ! The banana note is not that prohiminent and it mostly smells like sweet fruity candy, almost like creme saveurs lol. But overall it's pretty nice for an affordable fragrance 🍓

A wonderful, delightful sweet gourmand that never fails to draw compliments. Creamy, lightly banana-tinged, and vanillic—joyful, well-composed, and of high quality. On fabric, it endures for a long time, though the sillage eventually softens into a rather intimate presence.

I love this scent!! On me it smells like a strawberry shake, very fluffy an light. After a few hours it sits very close to the skin. I do recommend sampling before buying if you are unsure. Very easy reach and a bit addictive.

I absolutely love it! If you like gourmands in their sweetest form you'll like this. I don't know why it smells kind of like strawberry to me? In any case the only disappointment for me is the longevity, i wish it was longer.
