Immediately after you apply it, it can smell kinda like nail polish remover for a moment, but this disappears quickly as the alcohol evaporates, so don't worry about it. As it settles, the nutty iris combo comes out as a clean, soft, cozy, vaguely coconutty soapiness. It has a certain creamy lotion vibe, but a high quality one. I would definitely say that it leans feminine, but in a way that I'm surprisingly comfortable with wearing as a man. It projects quite well, I get wafts of it through the day without having to put my wrist to my nose. And it lasts forever, I can still smell it on my skin the day after applying it, which is rare. For some reason it smells much more soapy on clothes, so I definitely prefer it on skin. As it continues to dry down, the lotion-y soapiness slowly goes away, but the clean, soft, cozy, creamy, nutty iris remains. When the soapiness is gone, what's left is the most amazingly cuddly and warm skin scent ever, and I just can't get enough of it. Smells like hugs! It's a fairly simple scent, and I would totally understand if someone thinks it smells too much like lotion or soap, at least for the first couple of hours. I would also totally understand if men think it's just too feminine for them to wear. Still, I can't help but really like this. It's just so soft, fluffy, cozy and pleasant. Such purity and high quality. There are several clean, soapy florals in the Profumum Roma collection, but this might be my favorite one.

I have a sample, thanks SailorV! Summary: Powdery, sweet-ish but with a hint of dry bitterness, fluffy in an airy way and comforting. A morning hug in perfume form. --- I have a weakness for powdery scents, and I deeply enjoy good iris notes. I also enjoy dry notes and nutty notes. And sandalwood is comforting and relaxing to me. Inevitably, I enjoy this fragrance. The iris note is very pronounced, very powdery and almost green in its execution. Not makeup-y at all. The nutty notes are not photorealistic to my nose. Instead, they are a dry woody but gourmand-ish accord, difficult to explain. Knowing what they are, I can recognize them. If I didn't know what I was looking for, I would say that I smelled some kind of bitter/dry woody bark, which gives a nice twist to the powdery note. The sandalwood is not prominent to me, but detectable as a creamy soft background that adds roundness. Light (as in not heavy, not as in "not intense") as a cloud. Comforting. Delightful. You have to enjoy powdery notes to enjoy this one, but if you do, give it a try.

At first Alba failed to get my attention, I put it on and after a sweet, yet not so interesting top note I was left with something barely noticable. Hmmm... is this what you get for all that money? Kind of nothing. Huh. About half an hour went by, without noticing how it happened I suddenly started to notice a pleasant smell. My husband sniffed in the air, asking what is it that smells so good? My daughter did the same. They both sniffed my writst and went Mmmmmmmm... oh so good! I smelled my wrist and smelled... ohhh almost nothing, but the little that was there smelled amazingly good. Alba is one of the best skin scents I ́ve tried. It ́s sofisticated, sexy, warm, comfortable and slowly warms up on your skin like a perfect veil of transparente silk. The base notes are really quite noticable, like if the scent develop backwards... A must try if you ́re looking for an elegant, understated, smoth, sexy skin scent. Incredible longlasting. Sillage like minus, it kind of melts in with your skin...

As far as I compare to the other the most sophisticated fragrance ever made (of course in my opinion).Woody, woody and more woody, deep and mysterious, a little powdery, slightly sweet. It is romantic and extremely cozy. The gentlest experience I ever had. Like an angel wings, delicate morning wind, fresh and sweet at the same time. I’m closing my eyes and I feel like a baby when Alba touch my skin. Really, there are no other fragrances that make me so happy. I don’t know whether I would like to wear this fragrance frequently or not. It is too good and too special for everyday use. It is worth any price and any time to spend in its aura. This is not often discussed fragrance because it not loud or overpowering. I recommend Alba for people who needs to understand human soul. When I’m wearing it my friends are happy :-) so I’m happy too.

Good at the opening: a strong but beautiful scent of almond mixed to iris which gives a sensation of 'clean'. After one/two hours the amber comes out, but unfortunately on my skin the longevity either the sillage are poor. It doesn't satisfied me: i was expecting something heavier from a fragrance with high concentration of essential oils. One week later: I am happy because I get get lots of compliment and I like the fragrance very much, it's feminine and elegant. Doesn't matter if it doesn't last on me all day long. Two weeks later: this is definitely one of the best scent i have ever worn, it makes me feel feminine in a very CLASSY way.

I have returned back to this fragrance and am enjoying it so much again. Bought a bottle a few years ago but lost interest, mainly because I received the comment “oh, that’s unusual” multiple times instead of “oh, you smell nice”. I gave my bottle to my sister but kept the small rollerball and when I smelled at it again recently, it turned a smile on my face and I realised this is for me. I immediately ordered a full bottle again. To me this fragrance feels soft, cozy and feminine. I prefer to use the rollerball to apply, as spraying can be too much for me. I rather reapply than spray too much for my liking at once.

Totally smells like a Baby Magic lotion elixir. Baby Magic is my favorite baby lotion ever, BUT YOU WONT SMELL LIKE AN ACTUAL BABY because this doesn’t smell like baby wipes, there’s nothing milky... it just smells like an unbelievably sweet creaminess with almond powder in a refined way. Thats what I love about Profumum Roma, they turn nostalgic scents into a luxury fragrance for adults. You can slather Baby Magic lotion on your skin but will only smell like it for a little while... but with this perfume, you will smell like Baby Magic until you die because it’s super long lasting; love it. 💖

What a soft, gentle, powdery delight with an interesting touch! It is clean and pure, but also somehow sexy and very seductive, but in a sort of pristine way. In the LuckyScent.com description they say that Alba means "dawn", but it also means "white" in several languages and this is the perfect colour for this fragrance! White as snow or white flowers, purity or frost, cream, mystic fog or pearls or cotton or foam on the sea. White as the soft light just a brief moment before sunrise. This fragrance would go wonderfully with Botticelli's Venus image in my opinion! Exquisite!

As I already noticed in several other Profumum Roma gourmands, the same unsettling thing happens here with top notes too, so I was skeptical. Still, Alba turned out to be quite harmonious gourmand transforming very quickly from average ambery sweet hazelnut nothing to something very special, a cuddly, dreamy clound nine made of iris, almond, sandalwood, constructed fully as an idea of sweetness instead of an usual gourmand sweetness you get tired of half an hour later. With Dolce Acqua one of my favorites and my best gourmand of the line so far.

I bought this one blind. It is a very nice and comforting scent that immediately reminded me of something I smelled before... After thinking about what it was for some days I finally got it: it is very similar to Aldo Vandini's Macadamia Vanilla line (if anyone knows that). To me it is rather creamy than powdery. A peaceful scent that makes me smile ;) and feel calm.

It is a powder power puff. Basically baby powder + musk + coconut. Yes i get coconut. No nuts no almonds, but coconut. At first I didnt mind it and I thought I loved it but after a few wears i think the underlying coconut does bother me a bit. But still very nice!

Wow! This perfume is like wearing a warm hug. It's so nutty and comforting, with this subtle sweetness that makes it absolutely addictive. I get tons of compliments on Alba - it's definitely a unique scent.

A creamy, nutty iris. I adore this fragrance. It's like a warm hug. A bit powdery, but not too much IMHO.

It's like this wanted to be Bois d'argent but didn't study hard enough. I like how well blended Profumum's scents are, I just can't get behind some of them and Alba is no exception. It never transcends into something memorable or desirable for me. Lots of Iris and hazlenut which to my nose is not as good as it sounds. I get no almonds or amber or sandalwood. Dries down fast and goes to sleep untill you accidentally put another perfume over it because you forgot you were wearing anything. It isn't boring it's just forgettable, which might be worse. Dial up the hazlenut and almond to 10 and let the iris sit as a soft backdrop and this might be a real masterpiece (for me and my tastes) but right now it just doesn't perform and it doesn't last and it isn't memorable. Scent: 5/10 just off and completely forgettable. Ive worn it 6 times now and each time I smell it as it goes on, I re-discover the scent because it leaves no lasting impression on me. That is the antithesis of what I want in a niche perfume. Longevity: 6/10 again oddly, nearly ALL Profumum's last a solid 6 hours on my skin but half of that or more is tight-to-the-body or a straight skin scent. Who are you people claiming beast-mode? I'm starting to not believe you, 12 Profumum's in rotation and no deviation from the magic 6 hour mark. Projection: 3-4/10 it's light and dries down fully within an hour and becomes a skin scent not long after. Sillage: 1/10. Seriously. Nothing there. Would I buy a full bottle? Nope. Would never cross my mind.

Alba is the kind of unassuming scent that risks being skipped over just because of how subtle it is. The first few times I tested it I hardly noticed it was there, and I thought it wasn't worth its high price. But when I started paying a little more attention, I discovered its hidden depths and realized it's actually rather wanderful - understated, yes, but also richly layered and perfectly balanced. Above all it's a great showcase for the almond note, shifting through al its facets, from bitter and slightly green over realistically nutty to sweet and vanillic, sometimes showing one side, then another, then all of them at once...without ever suffering from the dreaded synthetic effect that's so typical for most other almond fragrances. It's not very gourmand at all - the main role of the iris note in the composition seems to be to keep it from shifting too far in that direction. All in all it makes for an elegant, soft but not unsubstantial, subtly sexy scent that sticks close to the skin but lasts for ages. So far I've liked it more every time I've tried it, so who knows, maybe I'll be prepared to pay that high asking price after all when I've made my way through my entire decant.

The initial blast from Alba is so strong, sweet and clean, it reminds me of a (expensive) laundry detergent. The powdery iris is very strong and fresh at first. Soon the sweet, vanilla-ish almond joins in, and the topnote only slowly fades away. As the fragrance dries down, almond becomes more pronounced. Still it has a powdery freshness from iris, but it's less harsh after an hour or so, it's nice and clean and keeps the almond from getting marzipan sweet. In the base I can finally smell the hazelnut. That's my favorite phase, it reminds me of Hanuta a bit :P But it's not exactly the same smell, not extremely gourmand. I can't single out amber and sandalwood, maybe they're just rounding the fragrance and give Alba some warmth and depth. Overall I think it gets better over time, but I don't enjoy the top notes and don't love the first hours. To enjoy Alba all the time, one must love powdery fresh iris, which is not my favorite, and sweet almond and nuts, which I like a lot more. Staying power is great and it's not a linear scent besides only having 5 notes.

Alba is a fairly traditional, simple powdery fragrance (with excellent ingredients), but it's woody and a bit nutty instead of floral. It's not like Teinte de Neige or L'Ombre Rose because those are so floral in comparison. You really get the rose in those. Alba is an iris fragrance instead, with a gauzy, breezy quality about it that makes it seem somewhat abstract and less old-fashioned. It smells for a while like green almond and grows creamier as it dries down. There's a definite woody quality, yet one can't quite identify the type of wood. It also smells a lot like heliotrope, which always reminds me of Jordan almonds, but I don't see it listed anywhere. A very white fragrance, Alba works most beautifully on my skin in the cold winter months when it’s fluffiness makes me feel cozy. In the first 15-20 minutes, I was certain I had smelled something identical to it. It hit me--Fragonard's Miranda...which also smells like Casmir by Chopard. All three are in the same family.

Intoxicatingly strong opening of atomic almond which doesn't settle down into smelling like almond until the drydown. It's like a ultra gourmand, MEGA, MEGA powdery scent which is an interesting outing but a super weird choice of fragrance in my opinion. The iris note is pronounced and when in this context just adds to the existing powdery amber and almond...which doesn't give enough balance IMO. It puts me in mind of similar scents from Etat Libre d'Orange like La fin du Monde or the recent Valentino Uomo the main exception being they both go in different directions and have better balance and less intensity overall. I feel Alba is over the top, a lovely smell but too strong and cloying. Undeniably quality juice here again from profumum and the longevity refelects that.

"Alba" is a truly high quality dark/powdery almond scent. It opened rather sharp full with burnt almonds and sandalwood, it got slightly lighter when iris appeared. Iris in "Alba" for me doesn't give any powder, it adds the much needed freshness, even though the scent itself is very powdery from the almonds. The drydown is truly a bliss - it wraps you like a warm, silk blanket. Silage is good and longevity excellent. Worth a try, though for me there is a bit too much of the burnt undertone.

What I experienced with Alba was a simple, but very nice smelling scent that exhibits all the notes that are listed on this page. It’s a light, smooth, gourmand with a wood backing, that leads to an emphasis on the iris and amber after several hours. Initially, the nutty side of Alba comes out with the wood backing. Here, the iris lied more in the background for me, only coming out with the amber later - in which case, they took over a more dominant position in the fragrance. Very nice!

I love powdery scents. I love nutty scents. So, I should LOVE Alba... but I just "like it a lot". It definitely hits the mark on powdery and nutty, but it's just so darn linear. There's no "wow" or anything that really makes it stand out or feel interesting. Nothing but powdery nuts. It's a very pleasant scent, but that's about as excited as I can get about it. I'd gladly wear it if I received it as a gift, but I won't be parting with my own hard-earned $$ to buy a full bottle.

Powdery bliss of a scent that is potent and lasting. The scent opens with nutty almond and hazelnut leading to a brief orris heart. The perfume soon settles on a powdery bed of amber, sandalwood and synthetic musk. The feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Absolute must try if you are into powdery cozy scents. Others may find it too sweet. Enjoy!

I love the scent, but I just can’t justify the price point whereas I get such poor performance out of it. Not to mention I already own a near dupe with Banana Republic’s “Rosewood”, which is a fraction of the cost with superior sillage and surprisingly impressive longevity.

I bought a bottle blindly and I like it but it's not a love. It's pretty powdery to my nose, a little bit to much and with a touch of almond. When it dries down I like it a lot better, I can appreciate the sandalwood and the almond more.

Really lovely and comforting powdery, sweet, clean-smelling fragrance. It's not what I want for myself now but I think this would be very well-suited for an older person. A scent I'd love for my grandkids to associate with me.

Very elegant- floral/woody/powdery. I also think I sense fig leaf, but I'm not sure. Very harmonious blending; it reminds me of clean, cotton sheets.

It's a pleasant Iris-Almond-Sandalwood combo with a harsh opening that makes you think of nail polish removal, but once it settles after a couple of minutes it's much enjoyable. I would recommend it only if you never smelled or owned Soavissima from the same brand, but if you did then it's quite redundant. Honestly I don't see a point of this fragrance. Since this was released in 2004 and Soavissima in 2006 it just feels like they released this and shortly after were like "Wait, we can make this much better" and then two years later they perfected it, got rid of the sharp nail polish opening and made a much more rounded scent. So in plain terms if Soavissima was a song, Alba would be a demo recording of that same song. Cool it exists, but we don't need it on the album.

Alba feels foamy in texture. Sort of like a hazelnut shaving cream. It lacks the sweetness that many nutty scents have. I think the amber and iris together gives this a hint of soapiness. I feel a little more almond milkiness in the drydown, and at this stage it reminds me of a muted, less sweet version of Sticky Cake. But it’s overall super soft and hard to detect after about 30 minutes. I sense a whisper of sandalwood at this stage, which is nice, but nothing amazing to me.

Very subtle and very powdery with hints of nuts and sweet almond in the background, it took 4 sprays (!) To even smell anything on me, I'd expect more from Profumum, especially with the price tag.

I like Profumum Roma and their simplostic though bold creations.Unfortunately Alba is not of one of them. Alba, is basically an almond centric perfume with hints of other nutty aspects and some sandalwood. However, in contrast of the brand's other creations, the almond here makes me feel dizzy, quite unnatural and headache inducing. I had to wash and scrub it from my arm, couldn't tolerate it. There are much better and affordable almond fragrances available out there.

At first whiff it came off as something akin to scented nail polish remover. I smell the iris, but it's so sharp and cloying that I can't stand it. There's a nice sweetness that I can detect, but the sharp powdery acetone smell overpowers everything... at least to my nose. I had high hopes for this, but I guess just not for me, as it sounds wonderful on other people.

This one is growing on me. I got it for Christmas and I was a bit disapointed at first as all I could detect was a Sharp note that quickly disappeared and then....nothing! The first of all of my Profumums that has disappeared on me. They normally stay on for at least 24H if not more. But I have been using Alba for the last couple of Days and it doesn ́t disappear anymore. I am comforted by a clean, powdery almondy fragrance all throughout the day. Subtle but noticeable. I actually love it. I love having a scent that is safe and friendly and not too much. Perfect for office or just about anything. I get a lot of compliments aswell although that is not my main purpose when wearing a fragrance. So, thumbs up from me!

Alba opens a blast of sharp playdough-y almond, then half an hour-an hour later the almond-note quiets down with some nutty sandalwood. Chilly, elegant iris joins to the sweet almond, and the fragrance finally fades to a soft, powdery, vanillic amber. Cozy, comforting, close to the skin, but longlasting, Alba is like the lovechild of Jour de Fete and Bois Farine from L'Artisan Parfumeur. Almond, iris, and amber with a touch of vanilla create a powdery soft fine fragrance with some dry, woody undertones. Only downside it is so expensive. What a pity that the Profumum-fragrances are not available in smaller sizes.

Almond lotion A dense confection of almond powder, vanillins and lotion-like musks over coconutty sandalwood raw material. Reminds me a bit of the l'occitane Almond products. At no point is it unpleasant, but in a way it feels like a 'wall' of powdery almond sandalwood. I do not see me ever reaching for this is FM Eau d'Hiver is around. Not the hazelnut dominant fragrance I expected, sample before buying as it is the type of fragrance signature you either love or care little for. As expected ridiculously good performance.

Feminine, cozy skin scent. Slightly gourmand like iris with almond cake batter. This would disappoint any fans of very sweet, very strong gourmands because it is restrained in both sweetness and sillage. I enjoy it as someone who loathes overly sweet perfumes. My only complaint is about the cheap-smelling white floral accord in the earliest stages of Alba. Very strong chemical offnotes. Thankfully this passes (although I still get hints of Carpet Fresh here and there throughout).

Profumum Alba isn't bad but is definitely more geared toward women, so it's simply not for me. A well-balanced powdery, woody, floral blend, Alba is decidedly lighter in terms of character but its decent performance gives it year-round potential. And with a hint of vanilla at the base to round things out, there's at least something to mitigate its powdery sharpness. Definitely just a miscalculation on my part to think I'd enjoy this one. 5 out of 10

So pretty. It’s like a slightly more minimalist niche version of the Lolita Lempicka fragrance. Which is a great affordable option. This is really nice though. For Iris lovers. Some Shalimar Millésime Iris and Dior Homme intense vibes too. This house has simplistic fragrances but they have high oil content and great performance and longevity all day. If you enjoy the smell, the prices are justified I’d say.

An exquisite and refined fragrance that immediately conveys a sense of exceptional quality. It opens with a remarkably clean and polished character, while its projection is both noticeable and elegant without being overwhelming. This house consistently delivers outstanding creations. I am truly delighted with my purchase and would highly recommend it to any fragrance enthusiast.

I don't think that if somebody changes the design of the bottle automatically means that fragrance itself is changed too I was in a store yesterday checking out some Profumum frags and bottles seemed the same like for the past few years... I check their website and the bottles are the same so don't know where you got the new design impression?

Pine opening? Was not what I was expecting. I then got the hazelnut and it was quite nice. Dried down and it’s more an almond lotion than hazelnut. It’s a pleasant scent. Not too crazy projecting. I think this is a bit more introverted than other fragrances from the house.

Powdery iris, wood and chestnuts; this goes on as a skin scent and stays as a skin scent. No one may notice, but what this lacks in projection it makes up in longevity. I get 5-6 hours from a a couple of dabs from a sample vial. It’s pretty but not a favorite.

Yes it is a very nice and comforting scent. Of course no banger as gioiosa, which is their nr one imo, but its a sophisticated version of giardini blu indaco. I love the amber note in this one. Def full bottle worthy BUT not full price

Scent - unsweetened almond milk & powdery iris. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 12hrs consistently.

Extremly dry powdery scent with spices and some sweetness. Clean, elegant, rich perfume, but I don't find it sexy and warm. Well, maybe the drydown, that's not that sharp.
