Battito d'Ali

I'm wearing this since a few days, and it's just amazing! It's incredibly soft, a skin scent but it projects also quite enough, and the lasting power is simply everlasting! Because this is an extract, not simply EDP ... It's so specific, for me it's original, so unique; it's classy, refined, and quite difficult to define, when you smell it, to pick up the notes if you don't know what's in there; it's pure, gentle, elegant and sensual at the same time, and to me it feels also quite retro', with it's powdery notes. It reminds me of a novel from D'Annunzio, that I love very much, "The child of Pleasure" 1884, and that takes place in Rome at that time...this is definitely the fragrance the female character should have worn as signature scent. At the beginning it's a bit sweet, reminds me of candied orange, but no vanilla, and some quite sweet orange blossom. fortunately this sweetness doesn't last too long, very quickly it turns into something much lighter, evanescent, and very soft. It still remains a bit sweet, but never too sticky, myrrh notes help make everything so bright, & pure? the subtle bitterness of cocoa balances the sweeter notes,it's quite difficult to describe actually, this scent it's so unique! Yes it's expensive, but as it's so strong it really needs just one spray or two, and it lasts the whole day, on skin, even more on clothes! I think one should be carefull not to put noo much, because it could only ruin the delicate softness of this scent, make it too heavy and cloying. It developpes nicely, with no great evolution or big changement, quite linear, but so elegant, thisone doesn't scream for attention, it just lingers softly around, whispering her notes gently. I really love it, this one is going to stay in my drobe for good. I also love that only a few people know about it, and wear it, and the name fit so perfectly, it reflects truly this scent, " what's like the smell of angel's wings"?

“Background Scent” Battito d'Ali is Extremely Sweet and Extremely Clean. It doesn’t smell like the sum of its notes. It smells like it’s own thing. Battito d’Ali is a fragrance I've had for years and only just realized that I really do love it. I think this fact sums up Battito d'Ali in a nutshell. I've had it for years and occasionally wear it and like it but generally overlook it. Battito d'Ali is a background scent. It's comforting and has excellent longevity with a nice soft trail but might not really come off as perfumey to others. It's sweet, powdery and billowy. One of my favorite fragrances which seems to be discontinued and long gone is Profumi del Forte Roma Imperiale. It has suddenly occurred to me that Battito d'Ali reminds me a great deal of Roma Imperiale. So now that I've made this connection I feel relieved that once my Roma Imperiale is gone I can wear Battito d'Ali when I'm in this sort of cozy, easy going mood. Battito d'Ali is sweet but not gourmand. It's a dry vanilla + myrrh (clove) with a touch of citrus at the start. Once it dries down it becomes a myrrh-vanillic powder. I would say it's definitely unisex. It's very long lasting in a soft in the background kind of way. The myrrh seems to come off as soapy to some people but I think this clove type scent is herbal rather than soapy (pretty much the only thing I'd call soapy is something that is neroli-aldehydic). Battito d'Ali is a great fragrance when you want to smell sweetly clean and pleasant all day long and not have to think about it. It's just there, in the background, billowing a clean powdery little trail.

I'm revising and rewriting my initial review from April 2025 after re-owning this fragrance. I first experienced Battito d'Ali earlier in 2025 and felt mixed about the perfume. Since that time, I've intermittently searched for pleasant orange blossom fragrances. As an aside, I went through two full bottles of Memo Paris "Sintra," which I love a whole lot. I also owned Parfums de Marly "Althair" in the past. But similar to Xerjoff "Italica," Xerjoff "Lira," and a few other "heavy hitters," I needed a temporary break from the density of the notes in those beast-mode fragrances. But I absolutely adore Sintra, I do! So, I am really loving Battito d'Ali. I own and enjoy a few Profumum Roma Perfumes. I bought Battito d'Ali for the orange flower and the myrrh. Battito d'Ali is a lovely, straight-forward perfume with opening orange flower notes that seamlessly fold into gentle layers of myrrh and cocoa-vanilla. No single note shouts, or overtakes any other note. While pure and relatively simple, Battito d'Ali simultaneously feels deep and complex. The cocoa gives the fragrance a smooth and dry “texture” (although as with most Profumum Roma perfumes, the juice is rather viscous and somewhat oily). Tastes and preferences change. This time 'round I'm loving Battito d'Ali. Performance is not as beastly as with other Profumum Roma Perfumes and not as beastly as I hoped for. And silage is pretty minimal, as I'd call this a semi-skin scent. But overall, this fragrance is really lovely. Love it!

Purchased from Profvmvm Roma when I was lucky enough to chance upon the store in Rome. This scent caught me straight away. It is definitely sweet and ambery in the opening, with a strong note of orange blossom throughout the wear. It has a candy-like effect and may come off too strong in some settings. Definitely think this is better suited to be worn in big open spaces where the perfume can "breathe" better. Overall a big love for me as I am a huge fan of orange and orange blossom scents, and this captures it in a very enjoyable and fun manner. My only gripes with this perfume are that it is definitely oily, and you will actually notice it when sprayed on your skin, and that does not go away for quite some time which can be annoying. I do NOT recommend you spray this on fabric as it will leave a mark. I also feel that it is a rather linear perfume, which oftentimes means it lacks complexity and depth as the wear goes on. That being said, I don't mind that at all in this case as I love the scent the way it is. One more warning is that the roller decant that I got along with the perfume is terrible and leaks all the time, and the atomizer as well as the bottle itself appear to be of lousy quality. Like seriously, designer perfumes half the price come in better bottles than this. What's up with that? If we ignore the bottle issues, the scent itself is at least an 8/10 for me.

Estebanz, i'm finally happy to find someone who's in love as much as i am with Battito, this such unique perfume, so soft, elegant and sensual...a bit retro' i makes me think of some decadent novels, fin de siècle, Wild's and D'Annunzio's characters should have worn this as their signature fragrance, around 1880... i just fell in love, as well, couldn't stop sniffing it, just had to e mine, é i really love besides the fact that it's so unique and unknown, very few people know PFR so it's still unique, not the sugary, cheap, mainstream stuff like LVB Lancome... just to mention one...Battito is so different, for me this one is THE Niche fragrance, so soft, it lingers around like a cloud, like cashmere, or velvet; i just love wearing it in winter, over cashmere clothes, pashmina scarf and my mink fur, perfect... it's my signature one for good, among the other many i have just for fun é change often, but from September to April, this is the one i wear most, in summer it's a bit too heavy, only for some special nights.

Battito d’Ali is a love for me and is going on the to buy list after finishing my sample. It combines some of my most favourite gourmand notes: vanilla, cacao and coconut with myrhh and African orange flower. Gorgeous blend, smooth scent! It’s in the same time the most scrumptious, powdery, warm and resinous but also white floral scent that I had the pleasure to experience! Myrhh is the stand out note in this on me. I am new to this niche Italian brand but this scent is gorgeous. It’s sweet and floral and gourmand and resinous without leaning too much towards any of this accords. It is a perfectly balanced juice that has a great performance. I would love to have this for fall wear because it feels so comforting and relaxing. It reminds me of my beloved Bottega Veneta Knot Eau Absolue. Both fragrances give the same vibe, richness and complexity. And share the most intense myrhh note I have ever experienced combined with white flowers. Makes it very versatile, suitable for most seasons!

There aren't many fragrances that allow you to smell the individual notes used in the composition. Battito D'ali is definitely one of them. From the very beginning you're embraced with possibly the best orange flower note ever. Yes, EVER! Battito D'ali translates to the fluttering of wings, and I must say, it really is quite uplifting. The cacao and resins are masterfully blended with the vanilla, providing the wearer 8hrs of nirvana. The initial spray is heavy/strong, so I wouldn't recommend over-spraying (2 sprays works for me), but the end result is a masterpiece. As the notes began to settle, I felt as though the scent seamlessly merged with my natural oily skin and transitioned beautifully. A sweet, resinous, orange flower delight. The only downside is that this fragrance is not widely available in the States, and it's hard to locate a full bottle under $200 USD. Simple composition executed perfectly!

this is purely a wonderful fragrance, so refined, soft, elegant, it recalls me really something light and brightness, like angel's wings are actually touching me; it feels so pure, that's it! it's almost impossible to describe... this softness, it's just amazing, for me it brings peace, I could easily imagine this on a baby's skin, on a child; but, in the dry down, it gets stronger, torrefied cocoa notes,with just a hint of bitterness, which give it a strong personality, without getting cloying or too heavy. I'm actually not a big fan of Pro Fumum Roma, Several of their fragrances seems often a copy of other well known perfumes, like Confetto, truly a less interesting copy of Hypnotic Poison Dior, or like Aqua di zucchero, a much expensive versions of Pink Sugar Acquolina! But this one, Battito d'Ali, really stands out, above the others I tested so far from PFR. Surely going to be my next purchase!

Longevity - 10/10(10+ hours) Silage/Projection - 8/10(heavy to moderate projection for the first 2-3 hours) Weather - For more or less any time of year.I personally wouldn't wear this on a really hot summer days. Age - 24+ Compliments - 7/10 Scent - 8,5/10 Main notes according to me - orange flower,myrhh,vanilla,cacao. The drydown is a bit creamy,smokey and sweet and I get some floral notes,vanilla,myrhh and cacao. Emotions -exotic,playful,oriental,uncommon,unexpected. Occasion -perfect for nights out,semi-formal event and special occasions. Try before you buy.

On my skin this is completely addictive! It starts super tropical., a mix of orange blossom and tiare, coconut and vanilla. As it settles the floral becomes really strong and it feels like a cool but creamy and warm scent. Cool soapy florals..some myrrh and the chocolate only giving a dusty aspect. I love the tropical vibe mixed with myrrh! It's not gourmand but it's delicious! The more it dries the soapier it gets and the more myrrh is obvious. This is very strong. One dab from a sample vial and its lasted 6 hours so far. Sillage is perfect. It makes a little bubble of scent around me that sits closer towards my personal space but when I walk or the Wind Blows others can smell it. I'm into gourmand right now and nothing else interests me (unless it's iris) so I'm surprised this intrigues me so much. I believe it would be beautiful in spring summer and the winter. Ok, so I'm still suprised that I was able to spent sooo much money on one bottle of perfumes, but... I couldn't resist this beauty. This is the best gourmand - not a gourmand fragrance ever. Period. It is sooooo perfectly blended!! Sweet, but not too sweet. You can definitely smell beautiful sparkling orange flower (which I LOVE btw), but it's not overwhelming or too heavy. It is really warm, kind of milky I guess. This orange flower is coated with sticky fresh resin (myrhh of course) and topped with dry, dusty cocoa with a tiny vanilla touch. I think it's perfect for every season and it doesn't happen too often. It's enough sweet and warming to carry this in autumn/winter season, yet very fresh, sprakling and sunny, so it can be easily worn in spring/summer time. Longevity is amazing - 12h+. Definitely TOP quality. I love it soooo much.

Aspects of this perfume wow me, namely the general originality of Battito d’Ali and the openings top notes. To me it smells quite gourmand, sweet, creamy and virtually ‘cakey’ with an orange citrus note that is very pleasant indeed. It’s immediately after that (a matter of minutes) the heart becomes waxy and intensely powdered, almost soapy with an orange blossom, countered with the intensely sweet, boarderline cloying coconut/vanilla. Myrrh is listed here and without smelling the note directly as such, I can see how it might conspire in this fragrance to bond the accords together. It’s an interesting fragrance, I kinda wish I loved it because it would make life and reviewing it easier, but it’s a challenge and I like that. Another wear might be in order to make a solid decision on it.

thank you Steleale! <3 so glad you like it! it's very unique, the opening it's a very strong, quite sweet orange blossom, almost candied orange, with a hint of myrr bitterness, that makes it quite unusual, nut it only last the fist blast, after that it smooths into a soft powdery cloud, with this orange blossom innocent fresh & clean note, and myrr gets softened by a bitter-sweet cocoa note, amost white chocolate i'd say. it all blends so smoothly, heavenly! it's sensual, not sexy, it's classy not old, it's pure yet warm. my very best fav ever, along with SDV, but this one is more confidential, so unusual, and i enjoy that here very few peole even ever heard about the brand, not to speak about the fragrance! ;) love this excusiveness, it's worth the price!

Just bought one in Rome ! It was 180 euros which is much less than 240euros that is in my city. For long time I wanted this one but I was not sure if it's good to spend that much money on a perfume but now that I had a chance to get it for 60euros less I purchased it. It's very simple smell but I love it !! Very bright, clean and sweet smell. Orange blossom is the most prominent note, then myrrh and vanilla. I don't get any coconut or cacao. Battito is very uplifting scent and for me it's a happiness in a bottle 😍 It has a perfect balance of sweetness and citrus How I picture this perfume is like you're eating some lemon cake that is covered with creamy thick white frosting that it has vanilla extract in it. (on most beautiful terrace in Positano).

This is so beautiful, and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Its such a comforting, sweet, cozy hug! I wear this much more in the summer- because the most prominent notes to me are sugared lemon, some almond, rounded with buttery, coconutty, oily sweetness. Its not too loud- but the person wearing it will get whiffs of the perfume throughout the day. So projection might not be vety strong, but its a rather oily perfume and sticks around for at least 6-8hrs on your skin. At first whiff i thought it was more feminine leaning, because it smells delicious and doesnt have any aftershave-like notes in the opening- but since I own a bottle Ive come to realise its a perfect unisex and would smell lovely on a man too. 10/10 smell 8/10 longevity

l came to a niche perfume shop asking for some strong smelling and lasting perfume for a night out and l was offered Battito (l love the name) since, as they say, Pro Fumum are known for their strong smelling fragrances. The lady gave me a sample and sprayed it on my arm. At first the smell is very prominent and interesting but with time it becomes powdery and soft, much too soft for my idea of a night out. After 30 min the smell had almost disappeared leaving just a very pleasant hue. For me it has neither the longevity nor the sillage l asked for but it is a very interesting smell, maybe for an autumn or winter weekend stroll in a park or a trip to the country but definitely not for the price they ask - ln my country it's 170 euros.

Smooth, creamy, something to wear to the beach, or whenever you want to be wrapped in a silky classy fragrance. One dimensional as all PROFUMUM fragrances. A true powerhouse like all of them. I love to share it with my wife. It's versatility gives me great freedom whenever I want to enjoy this nectar. Give it some time and wear to understand what the fragrance is all about. Its neither too floral, nor too musky. Very well balanced. PROFUMUM does remarkable work, no flankers, no elixirs. Its a brand that is about unique fragrances and nothing less. Nesia, i understand what you mean, in fact, it's exactly because it lingers softly after a while that I love it so much, it's just a soft cloud,sensual. If you are looking for a nice niche perfume that lasts, look the Guerlains Art et la Matière, like Spiritueuse double vanille, or Myrrhe et délires or Cuir beluga; or also by Guerlains Rose nacrée du désert; it depends of what notes you like ... at profumum, there are also many others that last long, if you like sweet ones, there is Dulcis in fundo, Vanitas, and Dolce Acqua, otherwhise, Fiori d'Ambra, Ambra Aurea, Santalum, d'Ambrosia,Oxiana are also very interesting, woody resinous, original! What would you like exactly?

Steleale, funny how we get so different impressions on a fragrance! lol! I like FDA because for me it has such an opium note but it remind me of vintage times; victorian era, opium bars chasing the dragon... as they used to say...this strange sweet note, i think also laubdanum, it's so decadent, to me, litterally, remind me of Wilde and Baudelaire, and courtesans, corsets and maison closes...I might buy it next time... BDA also reminds me of this time but it a classier way, more elegant, like an aristocratic lady, wich beneath the "bon ton" behaveour hydes her sensuality and her cladestine love affairs.. . just like in a D'Annunzio's novel...

To me this is a more sumptuous version of Jo Malone's "Blue Agave and Cacao". It is indeed a beautiful blend of fresh dewy orange flower and lemony myrrh, enveloped by creamy vanilla and warm, dry cacao. This lasts, and lasts, and lasts. I wore it in intense Italian heat for several hours and didn't find it to be cloying, though I was careful to only apply once on my wrist. Bergamot (listed in the official catalog) stops it from opening too heavily. Wearing "Battito d'Ali" will have you enjoying wafts of soft, balmy sweetness all day. I doubt I would spend €170 on it though, as "Blue Agave and Cacao" is a much cheaper alternative.

Gorgeous and deceptively powerful scent. It is sweet and dense, while also being airy and weightless enveloping you in a candied chocolate dipped orange cloud. The effect is not too dissimilar to MFK's BR540. Dont get me wrong, this smells NOTHING like BR 540 and is its own proper scent. If a vanilla sky had a scent, this would surely be it. Word of advice: The key to wearing this fragrance is MODERATION. 1-2 sprays max and should be worn in cooler weather for optimal effect. Seriously, any more than that and it will become headache inducing and nauseating. Just 1-2 sprays and this stuff will last ALL day.

Wow! This is a very creamy and sweet orange flower. I wasn't expecting to love this, actually I was going to purchase Dulcis in fundo, but I ended up with this one. To my nose this fragrance smells like oranges, vanilla ice cream and sun lotion. It's uplifting and beautiful, but soo creamy! This smell feels like sunshine. I love it! I will say that this juice is extremely potent and I can easily imagine this a bit headache inducing if you're heavy on the trigger. Personally I would only spray this once. I sprayed this one time 6 hours ago and it still projects. This bottle will last for a lifetime...

WOW! I love this juice. Everybody notices when I wear it. Its a serious compliment getter. Who knew how well cocoa, neroli, vanilla and mryhh would combine. It is sweet but still florally and a touch powdery. In the beginning it is rather too sweet and reminds me of bubblegum. It soons settles and the sweetness lessens and the neroli and myrhh come much more the fore. It just gets better and better. I love the touch of clove. Yes, its a "pretty" fragrance but it is interesting. Perfectly unisex and not too girly. It has moderate sillage and very long longevity.

This is a very beautiful creation. "Battito d'ali" for me combines how a freshly cut grass smells with a bittersweet cacao note and the result is really remarkable. This is not particularly gourmand, though vanilla and cacao is very noticeable, the cacao here seems very natural smelling. I would say that this is a comfort scent. Even tough this is very feminine at first, at dry down it acquires the bitter quality of cacao, so it could be easily worn by man also. This is really, really good. Comforting, alluring and very warm. Perfect for cold evenings.

This one is interesting - I am a female and to me it smells soft and feminine, but then again, I can also imagine this being incredibly sexy and ELEGANT on a man as well. At the top I got beautiful orange flower, on a sunny day. It dries down to such a soft, fluffy, powdery scent that remind me of the sheets at the Aman hotel in Venice. I am not going to buy a full bottle, as I don't have enough occasions to wear this extremely classy scents, but I think I will get myself the travel size to use for years to come. Super special.

for me, it's actually in the drydown that this unique fragrance gives its best, so soft & ethereal, lightly sweet & powdery, but difficult to katch, it lingers around softly...bright & pure, and yet so sensual. It's staying power is simply amazing, no wonder with 40% concentration, almost an essence! But it's never overwhelming or heavy, nothing to do with some atomic Guerlains... no this one is gentle, elegant, vanishing, intriguing people with it's notes, what's that smell? angel's wings...

I dont get how anyone could read this as "feminine" . This is very unisex. Not really a gourmand at all, despite the notes. I dont really care for gourmands. This isn't sweet. Its dry, dusty, airy. The florals and orange flower combined with the cocoa give this odd, soapy vibe. Very unusual.Beautiful for the spring and summer. Lasts more than 24 hours with very good projection. I wish all my collection performed like this.

It feels green and soapy yet so good cacao and vanilla for me. Longevity is amazing. I have stored a test paper from Rome and even months later it smells amazing and so incredible long lasting. Good for all seasons. Opening is a little much. I like it anyway, very sweet orange blossom. But the drydown oh my ☁️🤍🥥 powdery creamy cocooning hug. Myrrh is adding something special to this. Smells a bit like lotion as well, soft. It should be cloying but it’s not. associations: cloud, mom and baby having a gentle moment, white feather, mouth full of coconut flour the sensation of that moisture-absorbent

I also like quite Fiori d'Ambra and D'Ambrosia; and Santalvm, but this one IMO it's a more masculine one, very strong sharp sandalwood, pepper. the other fragrances remind me too many mainstream ones, see: Confetto = HP Dior, Vanitas= Flower bomb extreme V&R,Acqua di zucchero = Pink Sugar Acquolina, so I didn't like that much PFR until I tried BDA and FDA

it's sensual, in a mysterious way, subtle,intriguing, adn elegant, vanishing & ethereal but staying power is just amazing, it lingers around softly, there is something really special about this one, creamy soft & sensual, not too sweet or sugary at all, sophisticated & classy. For fall & winter, a bit too strong for summer.

İt's a comforting floral scent for me. Nothing overpowering nor disturbing. That does mean ıt might be lacking personality for some people but ı believe it's a great everyday scent. A little at the feminine side of the spectrum but as a man ı would definitely wear this on a nice spring day.

Yesn because this fragrances are almost extracts, highly concentrated, about 40%!! EDT is about 15% and EDP 20% ! that's why it's more expensive, and why it's enough to spray just once, and massaging is recommended to warm up the notes, while usually for EDT you shouldn't!

According to their web site they suggest to; "Vaporize the perfumes and wait 10 to 15 seconds, massaging the area in order to permit the essence to blend with your skin." I've never heard about doing this with perfume, but with the oiliness of this one, it makes sense.

This smells exactly like the cream Nivea, i've always loved the smell of that cream and now i have the perfume for it :) Its super smooth, creamy and just a very very relaxing scent. Can wear it all year round and people will love smelling it on you 9/10

I love Profumum Roma. I feel like this just leans a bit too masculine for me. It’s heavy on the Clove note or myrrh.. whatever it is, it smells clove-like to me. I would LOVE to smell this on a man especially during intimate moments. Very sexy scent.

I finally found a vanilla perfume that doesn't make me sick. The vanilla here is in a way muted, it supports the cacao and the orange in order to create a very relaxing beautiful versatile smell. The quality, as expected of the brand, is incredible.

Sweet, gourmande yet fresh and somewhat floral. A real "in between" perfume. Leisure scent, being at home with a drink and some friends. Performance is great, just 24 hours! Top Profumum Roma again, indulge yourself. 89

Very nice and feminine fragrance. Soft, clean in a creamy way. At first is a blend of orange and vanilla, the coconut is subtle. Although the notes are sweet, the whole composition is smooth. I like it, it feels sexy.

They make nice fragrances but considering their ridiculous price range,they ought to make an effort and improve the quality of their bottles and vials-they are always leaking. Not a big fan of their linear perfumes.

I shouldn't love this as much as I do because Myrrh is a note that can get on my nerves sometimes but this is a true love. It's an unusual scent and very comforting, I feel like I'm wearing a hug when I wear this. 🥰

Steleale, great to see someone more mikes this so unique fragrace, but as usual i guess is a matter of chemistry & skin ... on me is so soft & sweet, but not sugary or stocky, it's powdery, just wonderful... divine!

It's like a soft dream. Delicate, like angel's wings, sweet, but not gourmand. It's the first hours of a magic day. A sunshine of goodness. I put this also before going to bed. I want to be cadle by angel wings.

Super elegant and very different form any other bottle fragrance I have (about 300 ) It is soft, ethereal, lightly sweet, but not edible or gourmand highly recommended

I have heard this compared to a croissant and thought: "yes I would like to smell like that!" Seriously. The reality surprised me though. Battito d' Ali is actually a citrus forward scent. The african orange flower would not have been my guess because to me it smells like stewed spiced oranges, a slightly powdery vanilla, and a touch of coconut and grahm cracker. It's very light and transparent and for me the cacao and myrhh never really shine through. I had hoped for monsterous sillage and longevity since Profumum has a bit of a reputation for that-but alas, no. It is firmly a citrus-gourmand in my mind and a light breezy one at that. As a man I don't feel the least bit self-conscious wearing it and while I don't think it's blind buy worthy, it is clearly worth testing. Scent: 6.5/10 it's beautiful but does fall just ahy of greatness for me. If the myrrh was more pronounced, double the intensity really...then it might be better. Longevity: 6/10 solid six hours with generous application which is not what I expected from this house. Still good though. Projection: 8/10 for the first hour which is where I think people may be judging the "beast mode" reputation from. After that is closer to the body for the next four hours (maybe a 3.5/10?) and then a skin scent until it finally trails off. Sillage: 4/10 for the first hour or two. Interestingly this did not seem to leave a huge train given how much it projects while at rest, after the initial application. Would I buy a full bottle? Maybe at a good discount sure but only because it's nice, I'm not inspired to go slam down $250 USD or more for a full bottle.

Delicious dark chocolate orange and vanilla on a base of warm, but also slightly bitter and medicinal myrrh. I enjoy it, as I usually like my fruity chocolate scents a little darker. For some reason I perceive the orange blossom note in Profvmvm Roma perfumes as very fruity, more like the orange itself than its flower. I noticed it in Vanitas and now I notice it in this one, too. These two scents feel like different sides of the same coin to me. Same myrrh, same orange (blossom), both vanillic and sweet. But Battito d'Ali is a little more mellow and natural smelling, and it obviously has a cacao note that Vanitas doesn't have. The gourmand notes and the fruity floral tone of the orange blossom are nicely balanced here, I really can't say this is particularly suited to one season. It's fresh enough for summer, it's warm enough for winter, it could be worn all year, provided you like gourmands with a bittersweet edge. I think this is a much better, more wearable take on chocolate & orange than the waxy-sweet Sorriso. I can't detect any coconut here and I also didn't find it in the notes list on the official Profvmvm Roma site. Like most fragrances by this house I find this fragrance relatively linear and simple, which is my main criticism about them, especially for the price. The performance is always great though. Even though Battito d'Ali is not quite as beastly as some of their other scents (which might be an advantage sometimes), it's still outlasts most other brands' fragrances.

Profumum rarely fails to deliver an interesting mix, and while Battito d'Ali isn't necessarily a mix I'd expect to love, it's nonetheless a well-executed creation that showcases the high quality of the brand. I get mainly a white floral accord from it so I'm a little surprised to see that the only, or at least the primary, floral note is orange flower, which is usually quite fresh itself. Beyond the orange flower, the other notes include vanilla, myrrh, coconut, and cacao. The result is a sweet, slightly powdery floral mix. Undoubtedly it leans feminine, but as with, say, Tom Ford Shanghai Lily, since it's sufficiently fresh and sweet, it's nonetheless pleasant enough for some men to wear. Performance is strong, as with most Profumums. It reminds me a bit of Meringa, the Osswald boutique exclusive, in their shared sweetness and dominant note of orange flower. They're definitely related, though Meringa is creamier and appropriately more like meringue, while Batitto d'Ali has the coconut side. An interesting blend but not one I'd likely buy a full bottle of Battito d'Ali---still, another solid entry from Profumum. 7 out of 10
