Orangea

Reading through the comments here I'm quite surprised at the comparisons to cleaning spray or artificial citrus because to me this is one of the most photorealistic orange fragrances I've ever smelled. However, it does not smell like oranges so much as an orange tree. Like running between the rows of a sun warmed orange grove and having the branches with their green, petitgrain laden leaves release their scent as you whip past them. Like pulling some leaves off an orange tree, warming and crushing them in your hand, and burying your nose in their scent. It is a green smell more than it is a juicy citrus. If you're looking for a juicy orange fragrance, this is absolutely not that. Instead, it is the scent of the leaf, wood, peel, and pith of the orange fruit. Citrusy and very green with some bitter and woody notes. Definitely on the "natural smells" side of the perfume spectrum, which is what I personally like most about it. I also appreciate that it leans green and fresh without doing that old-timey soap thing that is so common with neroli fragrances, and which I personally dislike. (Also why I prefer Orangea to Profumum Roma's neroli fragrance) If you're familiar with other Profumum Roma fragrances and have smelled Ichnusa, then this one is akin to what they did with the fig tree in Ichnusa, but with the Orange tree. To be clear, they are very different fragrances, but in my mind there is a parallel in the way that the opening of Ichnusa is all fig leaf, tree, and green fig wood instead of a ripe fig. Orangea is, too, the orange leaf and green wood of the tree more than it is a succulent, juicy orange. On me, this is really strong petitgrain for the first 30 minutes to an hour, after which there is a short period where it gets more zesty, though it's still quite petitgrain heavy. Following is about 2-3 hours of projection (which is amazing for a citrus, in my experience), before it starts becoming a skin scent, where it stays for several more hours. Definitely performs best in warm weather. Very unisex. For me it's only bottle worthy because both myself and my husband use it. If it was just me on my own I'm not sure it would get enough use to justify the price. Still a great find. Unique and refreshing. Thoughts on a sampling... * I can not believe there isn't any neroli or orange blossom in this! * So I guess it's all Bergamot and Petitgrain. * I get zilch, zero on the mint and cedar (needles). * Smells similar to Neroli Portofino. I remember the first time I smelled NP and NP Forte I was in a Duty Free shop in Lima Peru and since then I have spent years looking for a neroli type scent that is not as fleeting as Tom Ford's is. Until now that is. * This projects for 2 to 3 hours and that is above average for this type of scent. I only get 1.5 to 2 hours tops with NP. * Staying power galore. A decent skin scent after 5 hours. * Starts to fade at 7 to 8 hours and I actually begin to pick up some greenness then. Ten hours later and it's faint but defiantly still there. NP and NPF are completely gone after 2 to 3 hours. * I like the Neroli Portofinos' however I seem to grow alligator arms when I reach for the cash in my pocket. And that's because they are ridiculously overpriced! * Profumum Roma actually makes a Neroli scent. I will eventually have to try it. * But for now I am sticking with this winner. Okay you guys. I am not the best person to describe a perfume but this is so pretty that I want to at least try. This smells like an actual orange grove to me. Green and citrus. It reminds me of neroli portofino but with a bit more floral. Like a sweet floral. When the dry down it kind of smells similar to candy on my skin. Even in the dry down though I could still smell the whole Orange Grove also. It's just beautiful and totally worth owning. Most important thing I want to say here is when I used to love a perfume, I would buy the full size bottle. I ended up with probably hundreds of full bottles of all kinds of beautiful fragrances. None of them ever looked like they had ever been used. I realize I will never in my lifetime use all that. So the ones that I don't reach for, I've been selling online. And moving forward every beautiful perfume that I want, I buy a travel size. There are so many fragrance clubs popping up and I found one that does 8 mm vials for $24 of niche perfumes. So I don't get instant gratification like I did with buying a whole bottle because I have to wait and get one a month, but it's much more manageable and I'm much more likely to actually use it before it goes bad getting the travel sizes. I just wish I had had this realization years ago.

Reviewing a bottle obtained in 2024. Orangea was launched in 2015. Orangea is a naturalistic rendition of a blooming bitter orange orchard. This opens with the finest bergamot fresh and green with mint and some bitterness from the petitgrain. Although not listed, I sense orange blossom adding a subtle floral accord. The base of cedar needle oil rather than typical cedarwood is an interesting choice as cedar needle oil is sharper, fresher, and more camphoraceous - overall less woody. I feel there is also warmth from natural amber in the base. Not sweet or too soapy as Neroli can be. Quality-5/5 excellent ( excellent materials and blending) Unisex Performance- 5/5 excellent ( lasts > 8hrs - remarkable for a citrus fragrance) This is not a fruity sweet orange fragrance nor is it a freshie rather it is rugged - deep orange peel with its bitterness barely tamed by the rich floral/cedar/amber base. For a much fresher lemon version go for Acqua Viva. Although I like them both, I find Orangea more unique and interesting. It helps me imagine spring especially this year as winter seems to never want to end. 9/10

So happy I blind bought this. It is a hot day today in Australia, dry windy heat. I wasn't sure what I was expecting of this scent as I had the perfume over winter in the cupboard and had waited for warmer weather, forgetting the particular notes. I have a bunch of orange blossom frags and other citrus so I was assuming something sweet and citrusy. Well, to my absolute delight it is far from what I already have: love dont be shy and guimauve de noel and eaudemoiselle absolu d’oranger. Compared to them the sugar has been subtracted. Here is the peel with its bitter pith, dry light aromatic wood, the blossom is there but it is not sweet, it is shaped to belong to a savoury dry almost salty orange. I think of dried leathery orange peel. It is uplifting and sheer and so perfectly suited to this weather. I think I have smelled mandarino di amalfi and my impression is that it is juicy. Orangea is not juicy.

To my surprise this is more a green fragrance than a citric one for me, although there is a lovely soft petitgrain that runs throughout the whole wear. It reminds me of Acqua Di Sale in that it manages to be both soft and fresh but incredibly long lasting. Profumum’s slightly rugged naturalistic style really shines here and they deliver the most realistic rendition of a tree I’ve yet to encounter. There is nothing sharp, artificial or molecular, although it does walk right up to the line of soapiness without crossing over. When I close my eyes I can almost sense the texture of tree bark, a slight dustiness, and the glimmer of sun peaking in between the leaves. Indifference I understand, but I have hard time seeing how someone would honestly dislike this, it’s like disliking the smell of being outside in nature.

This is absolutely amazing. Warning, there's no orange or orange peel in this, it's sll about the petit grain which is the orange tree leaf, so it's very green and leafy, the mint smooths and sweetens it up a bit and the result is pure perfection, floats incredibly good in the air and the overall performance is amazing on my skin, people around me adore it, it's very fresh, likeable, green and beautiful. Only negative note is the very very cheap bottles that leak or even the roll on decanter cracked while i screw it in. The house overall is very rude and arrogant and they don't hear to you even if they know their bottles are really bad.

This is a bright, zesty, fresh petitgrain fragrance that makes me feel ALIVE when I wear it. Something about it shoots straight up my nose like electricity and euphorically hits a certain spot in my brain. What you get here is not juicy orange, but the distillation of the leaves and twigs of the orange tree which smell citrusy and tart, yet green. Very well blended and insanely strong. Summer in a bottle, along with its lemony brother, Acqua Viva. I'm really impressed with this one. Orangea needs more love.

It has this mugler cologne vibe, but at the same time its deeper and has a orange feel. However it does the same as a classical cologne, but its so happy, pleasant and uplifting. Im really a fan of this fragrance. Perfect for office and most other situation when you just want something simple with high quality. The reviewer under who said this was a better version of mandarino di amalfi got it right. They are similar, but orangea is smoother and dont have the vibe of too much white flower. So so good!

Orange tree leaves. Imagine you are walking through an orange grove and you pick off a leaf from one of the trees and, with you fingernail, you pierce the main vein of the leaf and then bring it to your nose and smell it. This is what Orangea is. This is nostalgic for me as when I was growing up there were orange trees. Love this scent. By itself that is what you get and that may be what ye seek. But there is layering potential here so I will report back if I find a good pairing

Lovely citrusy fragrance centered around a natural luscious bitter orange (petitgrain) which dominates the scent from start to finish. As the scent opens, one can also detect a nice bergamot and as it settles one detects mint and cedar pine extract. The refreshing unisex scent has moderate to string sillage and very good longevity, Really like walking in a citrus laden grove and perfect for hot weather. Enjoy!

I just wanted to try out some Profumum Roma samples, got recommended this by the sales person and fell in love... It's 4711 on steroids, comfortable, old school, fresh and sofisticated, it lasts, it projects, but subtly, it's perfect. Citrus and green, orange and chypre, flowery but bitter- not-sweet. Spring and summer, this is all I need. Yummm

A nose-gasmic scent! The most realistic and natural smelling orange tree fragrance I’ve ever tried. Perfectly unisex and most people will love it, I’m certain. Very different on paper vs skin, in fact skip the strip altogether. Got my bottle last week (100 ml) and it will last until Midsummer (best case scenario).

I like this a lot, its so expensive for what it is though but the quality is there! Orange and slight woodsy to my nose but natural and pleasant! Excellent longevity and decent projection and I might be buying a full bottle!

Beautiful bright blood orange and cedar opening has significantly shorter longevity than the vanilla at the base. 24hours after spray my wrist still had a lingering gourmand sweetness, but the aromatics have dissipated.

Pettigran and bergamot combo...nice touch. Unique fragrance and can be worn best spring summer, day or night. Very pleasant and shoud garner compliments. Wearing makes one feel fresh and clean.

This is an incredible citrus fragrance thats lasts beautifully for a good ten hours, anyone that says otherwise needs a new nose. Best in orange class by a lot.

I’m a big fan of Profumum Roma and Orangea was the only fragrance left which I had never owned nor smelt. This is because I have thier harder to find Neroli which I adore, so I figured that Orangea couldn’t compete. But now I have Orangea, and I do love it BUT, Neroli is still the best orange blossom scent ever created. But there is a place in this world where Orangea would be preferred. Orangea is your work place, everyday scent as it’s more subtle and calmer as the petitgrain here acts more like a leafy green steeped tea. Controversially, it’s this soft, green tea with soft musky orange blossom which reminds me of JLo’s Still. Orangea is obviously smoother, more refined and slightly longer lasting than Still but I don’t think I need to own both. A similar cousin to Orangea is Energizer by Boadicea the Victorious. Energizer is more vibrant, citric and with a greener more bitter pettigrain. I prefer Orangea to Néroli Outrenoir (another similar category of fragrance) and Néroli Plein Sud. So lots of comparisons to neroli/orange blossom, but what about juicy orange fruit? Well Orangea isn’t the fruity orange counterpart that Acqua Viva is to lemons unfortunately. Orangea is a soft musky, woody, calming and refreshing orange blossom. So if Orangea is not enough orange fruit for you, then try T.F Taormina Orange. I’d wear Orangea as a summer day wedding scent.

You're under an orange tree in an orange orchid and its a hot day, as in bordering on bothersome, you can small orange pulp, like someone is going to make juice, but its not enticing you yet, like juice waiting to be chilled rather than drunk, it's just gone noon, like about 1pm, and you're waiting for the sun to ease off a bit, it's slightly misty, hot and slight humidity, but you know, as in you're sure that in a little while the sun is going to ease off, and with it comes a nice soothing breeze which by the then the OJ is ice cold, and you can wander a bit and the orchid you're walking from is above sea level, and you can feel the sea in the distance, because you only know it's there but you can't see it yet. You're gonna muster some energy to get up, wander down to the sea, bask in it till the sun eases off, and by that time, when you wander back in your flip flops, the sun will have eased off, and the slight wind is brushing your skin, and now you're dying of thirst, but soon you're gonna have that lovely juice that was squeezed earlier - Ice cold. To finish the evening off, you spray a bit of Neroli from the same house over this, and set the scene for a gorgeous warm evening with the breeze bringing in the smell of Oranges and Neroli blossoms.

When I was on the hunt for a lemon-forward fragrance, everyone and their 2nd cousin was raving about Acqua Viva by Profumum; so I ordered a sample and tried to be obsessed with it but couldn't get over my mental reference point of lemon furnish polish. I'm still trying to like it, but I feel so much more drawn to Orangea instead. This fragrance satiates my lemon craving by somehow making me forget that it's only lemons that I want. My nose thinks there's a lemon hiding in here, but also recognizes that Orangea is more of a green-ish citrus bouquet; fresh, vibrant, and shouldered by sweetly tender white florals. There is also something really sexy about this perfume, a subdued musk perhaps, that clings to the rawness of peeled, slightly bitter segments. It's uplifting and invigorating, a perfect scent for spring and summer. 8.75/10...I wouldn't mind a titch more lemon...or lemon balm....maybe lemon mint? Maybe tarragon? Ooohhh...I could layer it with Acqua Viva....hold my beer.

Profumum Orangea is one of the newer releases, a green citrus amalgam of bergamot, petitgrain, cedar, and mint. I don't get so much of the bergamot except at the very opening, after which the petitgrain mostly takes over, along with a hint of mint. It's a little green and more citrus at the opening, and then considerably greener and woodier in the dry down. Performance seems fine, on par with the usual high Profumum standard, even for warm weather fragrances. I can see why many would like this due to its greenness, and while I'm usually not a fan of green fragrances, this is well done, though I'm not sure it's full bottle worthy. 7 out of 10

Its nice but not more than that. This much more about citrus zest than anything else. Its a bit artificial smelling which is a big no no for me. Petit grain and bergamot can be quite harsh notes but the cedar takes the edge off that. I think the mint addition is inspired and works really well here. Very much unisex and not that sweet. Not one of Profumum Romas better ones and to be honest as on the whole they create some heavenly fragrances. Its stays close to the skin but the longevity is good for a citrus fragrance.

This is an invigorating fragrance, especially in the opening with the sharp petitgrain, green cedar needles, and mint. I feel the bergamot gets bullied a bit by the other ingredients which makes it harder (at least for my nose) to pick up. This lingers for a long time on my skin, with projection and sillage being strong for the first hour and then softening to moderate strength for the remainder of its life. Definitely one to try if you enjoy more mature and serious citrus aromatics.

Awesome brand. A better smoother version of almost identical Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi which for me is slightly too feminine with the huge pungent floral kick for the first 30 minutes. Then as it dries down it morphs into a stronger copy of Hermes l'Eau D'Orange Vert Concentree. This is one of my fave signatures and might just replace it with this! Also a virtual copy of Tres Bien Institute L'Italien except with Bergamot instead of lemon. Quite a lovely soapy smell.

A very authentic orange opening, like a bag of whole fruits thrown in a blender. Fresh and sweet citrus with a rindy backbone and pithy thickness. The bitter green notes get stronger as it dries down, a grassy bed of biting petitgrain and mint. Moderate initial projection fades to skin over 2-3hr, longevity 5-6hr.

Meh. I don’t want to smell like this... very artistic and natural, but not pleasant to my nose. They took out the zingy, refreshing things that I love abt citrus and instead have the green/bitter/sour aspects emphasized. I guess I don’t love petigrain by itself!

Hmm, with the rate and reviews here, I start to believe there is something wrong with my sample. I get citrus just in the opening, but pretty soon it dry down to some kind of a floral hint i don't like at all, smells like a scent for old ladies..

There are better orange scents out there. Something about this makes me Nauseous. Perhaps it’s the cedar.mint combo....actually I think it reminds me Of an unpleasant memory or association. I won’t be wearing this :-(⭐️⭐️⭐️

This smells like regular Ariel detergent, almost identical 😅 (Seriously compared it when you have a chance a you'll smell the resembles) I mean it’s nice but it doesn’t excite me that much. I had higher hopes for this one.

at first i loved this but the more the beautiful bright orange dries down and subdues the more it smells like a urinal cake

I almost bought this blind given the description and other reviews. Thankfully I got a sample because I really don’t like it: it reminds me of the scent of those solid cleaning bars they put in urinals. Clearly, I’m in the minority but I really did not like this at all, and by far prefer PR’s Neroli.

I really had high hopes for this as a citrus lover but this comes off almost like body odor to me. I smell the orange in it, but the other notes blended in this accord makes this come of as a damp humid smell. Not for me and disappointed in this

Smells like damp greenery. Doesn't project (and I sprayed a lot). An ever-so-barely-detectable orange note (smells like stale orange oil) and a scratchy woody dry down (smells like ambroxan to me). Big fan of the house, not a fan of this.

Petitgrain dominated so smells quite masculine. Quite good for summer if you love petitgrain. -

A fresh, woody petitgrain smell. Really linear and flat smelling. Not worth the price.

I'm instantly transported back in time and to a specific memory- I'm 16, on family vacation in Palm Springs, it's late and everyone is asleep. Feeling sunburned and sulky I snuck out to stick my feet in the pool. Sitting with the watery glow, under an orange tree in full bloom, feeling self important and capable of taking on the world. I get all of those smells, and feelings. Certainly the petitgrain and some wafts of orange blossom, but also of water and night and warm skin and a little bit of chlorine. The slow and welcome cooling of the desert, the confidence and slight irritation of being young and eager for adventure. This was almost too much like time travel for me but I ended up using up my sample because it gave me those same feelings of hopeful urgency. Just ordered a FB. I also own Ichnusa and Acqua Vita and this is is quite different than either, even though the odor profiles might look similar. That said, I think it's safe to say if you like either of those you will probably like this one too.

One of my favorites. Orange soap (orange mint), pretty simple. It's got some tang/citrus but also very soft from mint that seems to blend with the greens and can make it clean soapy some days (not a bad thing). Not a big soapy/powdery fan but this is nice. The small seashell soaps that look like creamy and tasty candies/decorations but smell of normal soap. It's what i wished those smelled like, Florida vibes. Linear and simple but feels like it touches each part of my nose ha idk. Some days it lasts 7+hours others i lose it in a couple hours unless i look for it. Don't blind buy. Used ai and tried to replicate it before shelling out 250 clams. Month left, found a big diff with each brands petigrain. Gya Labs was super close, i added some mint and cedar leaves to diffuser and it's not too shabby ha especially for a noob.

A masculine petitgrain. Very simple, summery, perfectly bitter floral citrus. It really has addictive qualities (if you like petitgrain). On a paper blotter, the petitgrain note was well noticable even after several days. It’s safe to say longevity is good. Orangea is undeniably thoroughly Italian. It’s uncomplicated, with all focus on the raw materials. It’s elegant in its minimalistic approach. I quite prefer Orangea over Acqua Viva . The latter is a little bit too lemony bright. I hate to say it, but from Acqua Viva I get a little bit of that dreaded ’synthetic laundry detergent’, with Orangea that is simply not the case. I love both of them anyway, and it’s a tough choice, but I slightly prefer Orangea . Infinitely versatile for spring and summer.

This is a perfume with a green and sparkling opening, thanks to the bergamot and the petit grain and a drydown where an unlisted orange blossom appears and feels very fresh and natural. There is a woody cedar base note and a minty aspect that reinforces the refreshing effect of the composition. I feel it is simple and elegant, with a certain sharp aspect that makes it somewhat addictive. I think it could be a perfect perfume to wear in summer for lovers of green fragrances and citrus aspects who do not mind giving up sweetness. It has a moderate sillage and lasts about 8 hours on my skin. Scent 7/10 Duration 810 Sillage 7/10 Quality/price 6.5/10 Versatility 6/10 Packaging 6/10 Would I buy it again? I did not buy it

This one is centered around orange and petitgrain, supported by greener facets that give the fragrance a natural and slightly bitter character. There is also a subtle hint of mint, although it acts more as a shimmer than a distinct note. The overall impression is closer to orange peel and leaves . This isn't the type of fragrance I normally gravitate towards, although I found it pleasant and well composed. For someone looking for a mature, masculine orange fragrance, this would be worth trying.

I love petitgrain but in conjunction with citruses the aroma can result in something similar to the freshener pumping through the vents of public bathrooms. As im sniffing my wrist, i can't escape the thought of impatiently waiting for the bathroom stall closest to the hand dryer. That's a vision that definitely should not be conjured through fragrances. Sadly, the lasting power is great. One of the rare times in which excellent longevity is a nuisance.

I find this fairly linear. It's a great citrus scent, perfect for summer. Have to agree with AndySmellsGreat - it's basically a better blended version of Tom Ford's Mandarino Di Amalfi with slightly more staying power- having said that its performance is mediocre. On my skin longevity is a few hours, projection is minimal after it calms down. As a skin scent its great, but why pay that price point for a skin scent?

The opening is a very pretty bright orange & then an oily, grassy green heart further in the heart I smell white floral like honeysuckle, jasmine, maybe even Tuberose the oil note is thick but lightened up with the beautiful citrus I like it a lot but if I had to choose I would go with Orange Sanguine from Atelier Colognes which is similar but has noticeable wood notes on me in addition to the bright orange notes

Answering the question in the reviews below: to me it does not smell the same as Concentre d'Orange Verte. On my skin the cedar needles in Orangea are quite strong lending to a slight camphor smell and/or what I’d associate with the inside of a car wash. I find the petitgrain much stronger and apparent in Hermes.

Invigorating scent.Green,aromatic and slightly floral on me.Unisex,fantastic for summer.Can’t find any resemblance with cleaning products as others have said because the quality of this fragrance is remarkable.Long lasting for this type of profile.I am on my second bottle & I am super happy.
