سانتاليوم – بروفومم روما "الصندل المستحيل " اللبان المر – صندل هاواي – القرفة – مكون صناعي ( ايزو سوبر) يرتكز عطر صندل روما على زيت الصندل من هاواي التي تعرف بشجرة الإيلياهي وهو ذو رائحة كريمية لطيفة وان كنت لاحظت فيه أيضا بعض الخصائص العمبرية الدافئة الجميلة ، صندل هاواي يختلف كليا عن الميسوري النادر وصندل الغرب الاسترالي (الأكثر إنتاجا) . بالإضافة الى اللبان المر بطابعه البخوري الراتنجي الجميل المهديء للنفس ، تم توظيفه بشكل جيد في العطر واضاف اليه العمق المطلوب توفره في هكذا عطور نيشية ، بالاضافة الى لمسة تابلية خفيفة لوجود القرفة ليست برائحتها المألوفة ولكنها منصهرة مع بقية المكونات العطرية. اللمسة الأيزو سوبرية حاضرة ايضا أخفتت العطر قليلا وساهمت بتعزيز طبيعته الخشبية.العطر خطي بإمتياز مع فوحان وثبات جميلين في اول ساعتين يتحول بعدها الى عطر ملامس للبشرة.عطر دافيء جميل ومبهج في نفس الوقت. كما هو معروف عن هذه الدار استخدام أنقى المكونات الطبيعية بنسبة كبيرة في كل زجاجة عطر مما يفسر بطاقة السعر المرتفعة نسبيا ، الحرفية والبراعة حاضرتين وبقوة في تصميم هذه العطور ، هذه الدار صامتة وتعمل بصمت عجيب حسب ظني الشخصي. هذه التجربة الثالثة لي معهم وكلها من اهداء صديق عزيز له مساهمات فاعلة في هذا المضمار "النيشي" ، أسأل الله العلى العظيم ان يوفقه ويحفظه من كل شر. العطر أعاد القليل من بريق الصندل بعد اليأس التام من اكتشافات مذهلة لعطور مبنية على نوتة الصندل، كتقييم شخصي متواضع أعتبره انجاز عطري لفئة عطور الصندل البخورية ، العطر ليس صارخا ابدا ويصلح للإستخدام المكتبي بجدارة. ******************************************************* "هنالك اشخاص نجهلهم تماما .. ولكن ... عندما نلتقي بهم نشعر بشيء يدفعنا الى التقرب منهم .. حتى قبل ان نبادلهم حديثاً " ديستوفيسكي ******************************************************* دمتم طيبين متعطرين تقييم عام : 8/10

For me Sandalwood has three distinct factors that combine in differing amounts to form a trifecta accord. There's a dazzling array of different results which can be achieved and as a result lots of fragrances manifest sandalwood in different ways also depending what surrounds them. This is the closest I've smelled to my default sandalwood, the mental barometer if you will, to which I judge and perceive sandalwood myself. That doesn't mean this is great just that it has a more perfect balance of the three elements which are... creamy,spicy and woody. Sometimes sandalwood can come across weak and transparent but to me Santalum is as clear a representation as you can get. Perfect balance. I do detect the tiniest hint of Myrrh but no cinnamon. It's super minimal composition wise but that doesn't matter as sandalwood has it's own rich complexities... I have to say I really enjoy it. It's not the strongest in the world due to the lack of other notes and spicing usually associated with sandalwood based fragrances. Longevity is okay but doesn't project much above the skin.

This is the third review of a Profumum fragrance I have written in the past couple of days. I'm not going to repeat myself anymore in regards to how great the performance is, the quality etc. From this point on, I'm just going to assume we already know all of these features are off the chart. I will just focus on the fragrance itself from this point on. Sandalwood on top of sandalwood. But the best sandalwood Quality you have ever smelled in your life. For those of you who you are familiar with incense and use them, the quality of incense can make a huge difference when you burn it. Santalum can be compared to the best incense on the market. It's very simple and was designed so on purpose. Besides sandalwood, there is a touch of myrrh and some other warm spices. That's it. Sometimes that's all you want. There's not much else to say. This fragrance is perfect when you are cleansing yourself or starting a reiki treatment, either in person or online. If you are a collector this is a must have. Just like everything else from this brand.

#1614 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from scentsplit.com for $6.99. It's a spicier and sweeter scent than Profumum Roma's "Olibanum" and I actually like this better though I really love both. I love the strong impression that scents with a handful of strong notes make compared to a scent with dozens. It's a more aggressive and animalic sandalwood scent than some others I love, like Diptyque "Tam Dao" or Maison Encens "Cuir Erendil." I actually prefer a scent like this where Myrrh leads the way as opposed to being buried under the citrus and florals. This is for men, for cool and cold weather. I'd go light with this. Better as a hint of scent than a cloud. It could be too much in tight spaces. Expensive, but you don't need much, so a bottle will last a long time. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

*I removed my first review because it was unfair due to extreme expectation bias, please forgive.* I now appreciate the artistry very much. Profumum Roma Santalum is very powerful blend of woody notes, a beautiful dry myrrh and what seems to be a bit of an incense note. I get no amber or sweetness, thankfully. This is not a softer creamy sandalwood scent, but a meditative, deep, rich, ancient resins, woody scent that leans masculine. Performance is very good on my skin (all day) and still on my shirt the following day. Exceptional quality. Wonderful in cold weather.

@carlosrafel...I'm with you. I got a sample of this and yeah...one of the best SANDLEWOOD frags out to date. This smells very very well blended sand of highest quality. Some cheap frag have a bug spray nuance like Estée Lauder Amber mystique but not this, this is just a great, soft, fresh, masculine yet unisex sandlewood gem. I think it's worth getting a sample. It's not a wood scent like santal 33, it's more fresh like lavender like wood but soft yet very long lasting. Overall 9/10.

Santalum is a nice Australian sandalwood centered offering from Profumum Roma. Like most offerings from this line, it is natural and linear. The central sandalwood note is surrounded by some myrrh and light spices, most notably a nice soft cinnamon. The unisex fragrance has moderate sillage and good longevity. In the end it quite does not have the amazing mystique of a sandalwood classic like Santal De Mysore but it is natural and well done and a very versatile wear. Enjoy!

I love sandalwood and this scent is absolutely wonderful! Long lasting, perfectly balanced and just lovely. It takes almost one hour before the sandalwood appears on me, and before that it smells almost nothing (I am possibly noseblind to one of the notes?). When the sandalwood appears it is deep, soft and slightly creamy. The myhrr and spices are there but stay in the background. Full bottle worthy.

Now this is superb! Excellent! The sandalwood is very woody, warm and aromatic, spicy notes are quite prominent and perfectly complemented by earthy, elegant myrrh. Mystical, raw and charismatic. It has immediately become my favorite sandalwood-based perfume (which is my favourite note ever). Can't get enough.

A lovely spicey, myrhh and sandalwood unisex fragrance. Perhaps a touch leaning to the masculine but Im happy to wear it. Its not sweet but quite balsamic. I dont get much cinnamon but I guess its just one of the spices. It would smell gorgeous on a guy out for the evening. Moderate sillage and longevity.

This is the purest form of sandalwood at an extrait concentration. Super high quality and expensive smelling. All the aspects of sandalwood are here - Smoothness, Woodyness, Creamyness, Spicyness, Woody Sweetness. Projects like a beast.

Delicious Soft Sandalwood Santalum is a soft, resinous (from the myrrh) sandalwood w/ a light tinge of spice. It is a minimalistic composition. It is all about sandalwood (the New Caledonian type, it seems to me). If you are a sandalwood lover, you will like this one, though it is not a loud one. It smells like a creamy, semi-sweet, and round sandalwood. It is cozy, calming, and comforting...just pleasant. For comparison, I own the Art of Shaving Sandalwood. That one is louder and more jagged...the sandalwood does hit you in the back of the throat when you spray at first...love it for it...but Profumum's Santalum is rounder in the edges and of much higher quality of course...longevity is very good (not as long lasting as many other fragrances in the Profumum house but a good one nonetheless) and of moderate/soft sillage...it could be a little louder but it is perfect for office/work place wearing...this is not certainly a fragrance to go clubbing or be noticed from the other side of the room. However, just when I think I no longer smell it I'm surprised by unexpected episodes of delightful sandalwood breeze/waft through out the day. Love it. The myrrh and the spices add a little twist to the sandalwood, particularly a spice-sweet one, which you can smell when you sniff this fragrance close to the skin. However, from a little farther, it is the sandalwood what stands out as it should. Over time the spicy/myrrh component subsides and all that remains is sandalwood, all day long. If you like your sandalwood loud and proud, you may want to look at other compositions, but if you like it soft, minimalistic, lasting, true to its character, and refined for your own enjoyment (and those who can get within 1 foot distance from you), this is a good composition. It's totally unisex.

Smells Very nice. Incense and spice. It has a very clear wood and sawdust note that, believe it or not, smells like sandalwood. When i smell it, i feel like I get too much incense and spice. I wish there was even more focus on the pure sandalwood. But, it is very nice. It's a calming and relaxing fragrance with a meditative "aura". It's easy to see why sandalwood is used so much in meditation and religious circumstances. It has a very special feel to it. The fragrance is linear an stabil, changing little, if any at all, over time. That is as expected, as it is a simple but powerful fragrance. It doesn't project much, also as expected with around 40% oil, there is little alcohol to disperse the scent. But has a nice, dense scent bubble that last a moderate+ time, although mostly as a skin scent. Personal score: 8.75/10. It's a really great scent. And used as aromatherapy i'd say it's perfect. It's something i'll wear as a cozy fragrance for "sitting by the fireplace" situations, or for relaxing pretty much in any situation.

The variance in reviews reflects my own experience with Santalum over the past year of owning it. When it arrived I was almost anosmic to it, I was getting citrus and very dry terpenic wood and that’s it. Four sprays was nothing to me but my partner was choking. Yet each time I’ve worn it the spice level has increased and now today they seem quite dominant, mostly Myrrh but also perhaps cumin and salt resting upon a bed of authentic, dry smelling sandalwood. This is Profumum at their most serious and artesenal, but its simplicity is deceptive - only through repeated wear does its true nature reveal itself. At first it might seem like it doesn’t have much to say but once you get to know it it won’t shut up. Not a favourite of the house for me, but if you are looking for a woody scent that puts realism first and has outstanding performance, this a solid offering worth considering.

Very silky blend, very sophisticated, warm, lightly smoky and quite sensual. Simple and straightforward in a luxurious way, Santalum is expensive and it smells expensive. It is a bit like the most valuable piece of antique furniture you have ever seen. Not that is smells like wood polish :-), it's more the smell of the most precious, aged wood with a hint of cinnamon and myrrh. Whereas on my skin this is very enjoyable, especially on this cold, crispy winter day, I believe that on a man it could be downright sexy!

There's a sweetness to Santalum -- a little syrupy. It's not what I expected as this seems to project as a candied resin, more like a crowd pleasing amber. Santalum is a little spiced but smooth, radiant and warm. I feel there is a hint of 'ambergris' (amber furan) in here -- a bit like mothballs, antiseptic bandaids, camphor and the like. Creamy, fresh, soapy wood is how I find this to finish. Albeit a pleasant fragrance I don't find much true sandalwood here.

Amber- not listed- is what combines with cinnamon to form that sweetness. Oh, yes chandan is the star here, modified by the bitter coolness of myrhh, balanced by the sweetness- powdery. Although I wish the amber were toned down just a bit to allow the sandalwood more room, this fragrance is still likeable and enthralling, simple and very-Italian in its approach. I keep returning to my sample, intrigued. Strong 'like' from me, but not love.

Beautiful, smooth, herbal and spicy Sandalwood fragrance. This is a sexy, androgynous scent, can be worn through all seasons and appropriate anywhere. Quietly confident, this is not the loud talker at the office party. Don’t expect big projection. In the middle of my first outing with Santalum and I like it a lot.

When l first tried it, it reminded me of my late grandfather and his old jeep: sweat, old leather and cigarettes. Very animalic in my opinion. If it was cheaper, l would get it just to remind me of him. Otherwise, l don't think I could wear it in daily bases.

I loved the idea of sandalwood + myrrh, but in practice the damn thing turns down quite 'light'. I kind of want to say 'powdery' but I don't think that's quite right. It's an odd, soft sweetness coming out of one of the ingredients. Maybe it's a medicinal piece of the myrrh combining with something sweet out of the cinnamon? Dunno. Net-net, this isn't doing it for me. It's not a superb sandalwood. It's not a superb myrhh. I'm not a huge cinnamon fan in general. It's interesting IMO, but not for me. My first Profumum Roma in the "dislike" file. It was bound to happen eventually! UPDATE: The day is coming to an end and I should add two things to my review. First, even the long-term drydown has a light sweetness (powdery?) think going to it. It's a very nice sandalwood note, but it's sweetened too much for my tastes. Second, this shit lasts, man. Wow. I applied no more and no less than any other sample I have (a vial decant, no sprayer) and this stuff just keeps going like that damn energizer bunny! So net-net, I'd suggest it's a quality scent IF you like sweet sandalwood. UPDATE2: I just read the other reviews and wanted to comment. I got the "smoky" thing too like Gosha did - but only at the outset - that faded pretty quickly IME. I also buy 9154mf's argument that it's "too unisex" - I can totally believe they were "fighting towards the middle" during the design - rather than making it stand out one way or the other. And to alfarom, I concur that for the kind of money PR charges, this doesn't rise to the level of what I expect out of a PR juice.

Very familiar woody oriental-type that unfortunately, on my skin, is dominated by myrrh and ambery notes, not sandalwood. The sandalwood accord is detectable in the opening and it smells promising, a little bit inky, a little bit milky and only a tiny bit sweet. But then it turns into a completely different perfume. After ten minutes Santulum becomes more of a generic old-school amber with touches of dusty myrrh and classic musk. I can still sense a sandal-esque base underneath and there are pleasant moments while holding my wrist close to my nose that I catch spices like cinnamon and nutmeg as well. But it takes some effort to enjoy it. Ultimately, it reminds me of a Santa Maria Novella scent that was created in the 1980s or 90s and lacks the characteristic “niche-ness” that would compel anyone to cough up 200 euro for a bottle. There are far better options from Profumum Roma and there are many far cheaper and better versions of sandalwood orientals out there. Maitre Perfumeur Gantier (several), Il Profvmo Santal Rouge, Perris Monte Carlo Santal de Pacifique, Serge Lutens Santal Majascule and La Myrrhe, Pierre Guillaume Cadjmere 18 and several others, Guerlain Santal Royale, Chanel Bois des Isles etc.

Pencil shavings is very accurate. I didn't wanna believe it... It does get better in the dry down though. Just don't blind-buy. Also get a sample of Olibanum; it's similar but better. Scent 3/10 Performance 7/10 Versatility 6/10 Edit: One of the spices is cumin. I was just cooking and the smell reminded me of this fragrance. It is completely overdosed in this fragrance.

Was looking forward to a nice, dark PR sandalwood fragrance...it started off interesting, but in 5 minutes or so the cumin note came in and ruined it...BO sandalwood...bummer

i love sandalwood, but this is only bug spray on me. bummer.

على غير عادة دار بروفومم روما التي اشتهرت بقوة وعنفوان عطورها قررت أن تخص عطر سانتال بمنحه مجالا من الهدوء والرصانة وأنا أعتقد دائما أن الصندل يحتاج لمثل هذا التقدير حتى يمنحك هو الآخر أفضل ما عنده وحسنا فعلت بروفومم روما لأمرين: أولهما: أنني أقدر هذا النوت "الصندل" الأكثر من رائع. والثاني: أنه يندر أن تجده في حالته المثالية. العطر على قلة مكوناته "راتينج اللبان البخوري – زيت أخشاب الصندل – نوتة تابلية" غبر أنه قد أتي في حالة رائعة تفوق بكثير قلة هذه المكونات يراود عقلي احتمال كبير في أن اللبان المستخدم هو opoponax الحلو الرائحة، وللعلم فهو يعتبر من ذات أصل راتينج ال Myrrh. يسيطر على أجواء العطر منذ بدايته رائحة كريمية عنبرية تولدت من اتحاد زيت الصندل بعبق الراتينج البخوري. الأمر الذي ذكرني بأحد العطور الرائعة التي أعجبت بها حديثا بعد تجربة قديمة لم تأخذ حقها إلى أنفي وربما إلى مزاجي المعتل في أغلب الأوقات. إذا صادفتك هذه الرائحة فأنت على أعتاب أحد العطور التي ستحيل مزاجك إلى حالة من الاسترخاء وربما تصل بك إلى حد السكينة. النوتة التابلية التي تشع منها رائحة الكراوية والينسون النجمي تقترب كثيرا من توليفة عطري: (أرابي - سيرجي لوتنس، راندهولز FEB.14,1912) لا يوجد الكثير يمكن أن يكتب عن العطر. غير أن العطر لديه الكثير من الشعور بالمتعة سيمنحك إياه فور التعطر به.

This reminds me very much of Tom Ford Santal Blush. There is a difference though; it is smoother, a little spicier (which I love) with the cinnamon being subtle yet noticeable. I like it better and better the longer it is on my skin. It is quite masculine and I like that about it; despite the fact that I am an ultra-feminine gal, these woody masculine fragrances are highly complementary to my skin's chemistry. Santalum is very simple, actually and somehow Profumum manages to coax out the very best from its limited notes. I am reminded also of the sandalwood soap that Whole Foods sells - their own brand. It is a very calming, relaxing and therapeutic scent to me, yet manages to be sexy for all that. I don't think I can justify a full bottle though, given its similarity to TF Santal Blush which I already own. I will content myself with the samples I have - this is pricey stuff but would be absolutely worth it if I didn't already have the TF.

So - something must have changed throughout the years. I smelled Santalum a few years ago, in the official boutique in Rome, and it smelled very similar to Olibanum: green, woody, incense-y, but also harsh and very dry. I did not like it. Just yesterday I went and tried it again, in the same boutique, and the perfume is completely different. I don't think this was reformulated - I think this is a whole other recipe. Santalum now smells like dark honey (yes, I would say this is primarily a honey perfume) with undertones of patchouly, tobacco, and perhaps some spices and woods in the late drydown ambery glow. It does have a "creamy" feel to it. Santalum is now much less green that Tam Dao is and Santalum used to be. I did buy the 18ml vial. Projection is light (slightly better than Tam Dao, but nothing to write home about, tbh) and duration is fine.

Holy moly this is good. Testing from a sample as i type this. Starts a little bright, in fact almost odorless soapy if that makes sense.... and then the balsamic creamy sandalwood kicks in. Spices are persistent in this but only as support and never intruding ala Tobacco Vanille for example. But what took my attention the most in this is the myrrh: Breathtaking. It stays borderline between sweet and dry as both other notes pulls it apart from both sides. The scent gets darker and mysterious as it develops more on skin. Projection is average. Going to pamper my tiny sample for the time being.

I honestly don't mean to troll when I leave a negative review. I find it helpful when I am looking at frag reviews to see a mix of positive and negative experiences, as it's a very subjective and personal thing. With that being said, my experience trying Santalum Profumum was extremely negative. Upon application, pencil shavings and body odor. So offensive was the smell that there was no question I wouldn't be able to endure the drydown to see if it would improve. Immediate scrubber for me.

This is like an incensey sandalwood. Its nice if you like that sort of thing, but I just like my sandalwoods a little creamier, with say a vanillary base. It's too unisex for my tastes, in fact i think it would be great on a man. I smell the myrrh and cinnamon as much as the sandal in this, and that's why, for me at least, it has a very masculine feel.

Oh, what a great sandalwood fragrance! So simple and well-made, straight to the point! Myrrh and spices are complimentary to this sensual mystic sandalwood. In spite of the presence of cinnamon, this is quite a dry scent and I would love to smell this on a man rather than a woman.

A minimalistic concoction of cinnamon, sandalwood and myrrh. Smells good and smells exactly like the sum of its parts. Spicy, woody and a bit resinous. Well crafted and honest (with the exception of the price which is anything but). Rating: 6.5/10

It's good, but too light. A far better version of this is The Art Of Shavings Sandalwood, which, next to Tam Dao is the best sandalwood I've tried. It's a beautiful scent when it drys down, but for the price I want something more noticeable.

Scent - resins, spices & sandalwood. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, day or night. Projection - I did get noticed, it garners compliments. Longevity - I get 24hrs consistently.

At first try i get body odor, something like my sweaty balls in the summer. Im not joking, somewhere behind the balls is leaf of mint. Will say its too pervert
