Tuberosa

A creamy, comforting tuberose for me. For comparison, I love white floral perfumes and for years wore only Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. I tried Carnal Flower once, a long time ago, and disliked it so much that I thought there was something wrong with my nose-- the green camphoraceous aspect of CF was freakish to me. Profumum's Tuberosa is sweeter and smoother, almost oily-smelling. It's less powdery and formal in character than the EL PC Tuberose Gardenia, and seems to project more. (I am sampling from a dabber vial, and used about 0.2 ml, and my partner thinks this amount is a lot.) Even if the sillage is a bit loud, the perfume itself seems softer to me. It doesn't smell as if it has a lot of jasmine, I don't get their usual effect of salicylates in this perfume. The supporting notes of the composition seem less tropical compared to, say, Moon Bloom, but more intoxicating in a different way. I don't get any distinct animalic notes, just a perceived effect of something fleshy anchoring the flowers. On fabric, there's more of a suggestion of sharp green leafiness that stops short of minty or medicinal (though my partner detects a bit of a vulcanized-rubbery smell, and a little something sulfuric). I can take big deep whiffs of this without getting anosmic or irritated. It's not got a lot of distracting bells and whistles, which is nice. Full-bottle worthy? I'm a bit of a commitmentphobe when it comes to perfume, so idk. But this is definitely a distinctly different tuberose and a different white floral than others I've smelled. Update: I sat with the drydown for almost a half day and it's more interesting than I thought it would be. A little soapy-musky, somehow fresher (like jasmine in reverse), with the green notes staying cool on fabric, then lapsing into various excerpts of a more indolic tone-- sometimes a narcotic banana, sometimes a subdued mothball, sometimes sunlit air. The drydown makes me want to consider a decant of this.

I am going to be very repetitive when it comes to this fragrance house because the DNA is exceptional. Tuberosa is no different. Once again I'm kicking myself for not purchasing earlier. I suppose I had to accumulate most of the fragrances from this house before I could establish my collection and determine what ones I am missing. I am 100% sure I need to have almost every fragrance they make at my fingertips. I live in California. The Bay Area. Although it's October, it's going to be 90° outside today. I put this on this morning right after I showered. It is developing differently than I remember. Before, I thought it was very one note and rather uninteresting even though it smelled realistic. If that sounds like something similar to what you say, know that you are wrong. Every time you put this on, something new happens. I can't tell you why or what exactly, but I can tell you it's really beautiful and it contributes to the overall complexity to what was originally thought a linear fragrance. Yes, you still have to be looking for a white floral and yes you can pick up on gardenia and fresh jasmine. Consider this a white bouquet. But the most realistic, in your face blend available on the market. There are many stories, myths and legends about these Night-blooming flowers and unrequited love. Ghosts and oxygen sucking etc. They are all great and today make the fragrance even better. Perfect for October. I love how it can be worn on your happiest day like your wedding day and then worst day of your life. Even the people attending your funeral can wear it and hence the story deepens! All of this simply because of a fragrance done well. This is yet another example of why we collect. If you haven't caught my drift, purchase!

Hello everyone. Profumum Roma and I are back at it again! I have reviewed this fragrance before, but I am writing again because I have learned so much in the past three years. I am coming at it from a fresh angle and feel like I can contribute much more to the fragrance as a whole. This is another tuberose I have in my collection. This was unintentional, but I have at least nine fragrances where tuberose is the star. Three years ago, that was not the case. I did not like this at first. It was too much. I'm so happy I have it now. It is a testament to how your nose changes over time. Almost like strength training or bodybuilding. The more you work your nose out, the stronger it becomes. The more you can appreciate. But I am here for a specific reason. Everyone is talking about 45° From TRUDON. Aren't they? Unfortunately I fell into the trap and have purchased it. I even had it on this morning. I got bored. What a shame. Guess what I did? I decided to layer 45° with Tuberosa. Holy crap. You guys have to try this! These fragrances have combined to become some sort of sweet and vanillic tuberose composition. Similar to the dry down of Love Tuberose from Amouage. But better. I recommend you put on 45° first, so that the honey aspect settles down a bit. Then apply Tuberosa. It's perfect for right at the start of spring. I wish I had a YouTube channel where I could post this and tell you guys. Unfortunately, because my disability, I am unable to do that. Instead, I try to be the best written reviewer I can possibly be. So I am here to tell you that you have to try this combination. Great for Easter! In fact, I highly recommend for that time. This fragrance is like if both Narcotic Venus by Nasomatto and Moon Bloom by Hiram Green had a child... except it has a good dose of both gardenia and jasmine thrown in! It is less sweet than Moon Bloom but sweeter than Narcotic Venus, with a more heavily floral composition than either. All three are beautiful, though! All three are primarily hyper-realistic tuberose scents and probably the best ever tuberose scents ever made, too. I think I might like Tuberosa Roma even more than either, since its sillage fills the entire room and it is a real diva/femme fatale perfume. Longevity is also insane, clocking in at around 11 hours on my skin before fading away completely. No one else would smell exactly like you with this fragrance and you'd be remembered forever for your scent. I could imagine it being a great fragrance to wear to attract a man! The tuberose and other white floral notes in this composition are incredibly realistic smelling and of the highest quality, giving me all of the facets and notes of every single flower and making me think of a hot house filled with tropical plants. The quality this fragrance has is quite oily, but I don't mind that because it smells like 100 percent pure absolutes have been used for this perfume. No expense has been spared and this doesn't smell synthetic in any shape, size or form... hence the 10/10 from me! I honestly would wear this any time of day or season proudly. This is THE photorealistic tuberose scent for me and all tuberose lovers need to get this perfume! Nothing to me smells more like real tuberose flowers than this fragrance.

Incredible. Some smells go right to your brain, to a place that can unlock memories that feel immediate and present in a way that’s almost disturbing. That’s what this did for me. It took me back to the mid 80s and what I was wearing was Coty Sand&Sable. Both feature a green yet animalic Tuberose, a completely engulfing and over the top tuberose that somehow also maintains a slight feeling of freshness. The gardenia in both is heady and dense and so velvety as to be swoon inducing. The combination of the two along with jasmine is enough to make a person drunk on white flowers. I’m not sure what I was doing at 17 years old wearing a perfume like Sand&Sable that I now recognize to be the ultimate in femme fatale fragrance, but there you go. I haven’t smelled a modern version of Sand&Sable but I doubt it’s as good, however Profumum Roma Tuberosa is. It’s an elixir for a femme fatale, a recreation of a humid southern night with white florals heavy on the air and the feeling of sensuality everywhere. This lasts 8 plus hours on skin and has a very extensive sillage.

Tuberosa is a perfect tuberose above all others with impeccable Profumum Roma quality. It’s beastmode, naturalistic, white floral perfection. So as a classic floral scent lover such as myself, why isn’t this my everything? I’d just have preferred if it was more about the gardenia and jasmine than the tuberose (which is my least favourite white floral), but I guess the clue was in the name. Plus there’s a slight damp smell to this, like an aquatic floral or like petals in the rain, it just makes me feel like I got caught in the rain and now my clothes are a little damp. So this minor technicality is my only complaint. Tuberosa is pure, heady, tuberose realness in its raw and luscious form. It lasts for 12 hours and is a little retro/nostalgic in its adorable senior lady styling. It’s a bit like Amarige but stronger, purer and contemporary. My ultimate white floral of all-time is A Goodnight Kiss but Tuberosa is doubtlessly The Best tuberose dominant soliflore fragrance above all others.

This is a really really well formulated creamy tuberose. The quality of ingredient is upscaled. The notes are in harmony with each smooth pitch Tuberosa sings. I want this one. Its not easy to find. It is close to Fracas but not identical. If you love tuberosa this is definatly a safe blind buy and/or a MUST TRY! When the heart and base of a perfume smells so nice you know it is amazing. And Amazing is Profumum TUBEROSA. I have tried this over a period of time in comparison to the top Tuberose fragrance lines. Very careful and patient nit picking comparisons. This is something really glamorous. Attractive: YES Smells Quality: YES FORMULATION MADE WITH PERCISION: YES Love it: YES APPROPRIATE FOR FORMAL, OFFICE, Day & NIGHT AND ROMANCE: ABSOLUTLY YES!

On my skin this is the most powerful fragrance I own. A single spray on my skin in the morning charms and torments me all day. I only wear it when I'll be alone or with my partner or close friends who have learned to put up with me. I sprayed it on my clothes once and it lasted three washes (I know, I know, Profumum Roma tells you not to spray on clothes, but I disobey). It smells like the south of India, like hot Australian nights in a garden with a gardenia, but it also smells on me a bit like a liniment rub, medicinal, with mint or camphor and there is something of cured meats and certainly metal.

Big, damp, white floral: Tuberosa smells like the 1990s. I’m always amazed at any perfume that has lasting power on my skin, and this is a strong performer. I’m sampling from a splash vial, and wish I could spritz this instead. It might be too strong as dabbed on it almost got to be too much for me. Still I like it and I don’t pick up anything synthetic. It lasted all day without a touch up, impressive At this price I want to try Amouage Love Tuberose before I pull the trigger. I would not pass on a good deal though, it is Fracas in overdrive.

♡♡♡ I wasn't prepared for how much I would love this one. The first spray is pure tuberose. Big, creamy, almost overwhelming. If you're looking for a soft background scent, this isn't it. What surprised me most is that it barely changes on my skin. It's tuberose from start to finish, and somehow I never get tired of it. Every time I catch a whiff I want another. It's bold, feminine and absolutely unapologetic. I only reach for it when I'm in the mood for white florals, but when I am... nothing else will do. ♡♡♡

Honey creamy bouquet of white flowers. Intoxicating, yes, changes over time in the sound, then becoming stuffy, the transparent and juicy. 100ml? That's enough to turn it into a testament grandchildren)) 1 spray to create a sensual aura. 2-3 spray fragrance can make vulgar and flashy.

straight up gardenia, can barely smell the jasmine or tuberose. which is fine by me because i LOVE gardenia. you can almost feel the creamy white petals against your face as you push your nose against the flower. not for the faint of heart, the projection is NUTS.

A very iron tuberose. There is no room for anything else, just tuberose, gardenia and a pinch of jasmine. No creamy notes or anything else. Just pure tuberose. 8/10 stratospheric performance.

I've always loved this green tuberose...but last night, maybe it was the heat, maybe my overspray had a really strong smell that bothered me and my relatives.

Fracas amplified. Heady white flowers, showy and flashy on Italian platinum blonde with a sun-tan overly scented way. Embodies warm summer nights. Want.

if the ferrous note due to the gardenia annoys you like me, you can take the small size.

As a man who either loves heavy, dirty animalics or pure florals I am always thrilled to see a floral sold as being a shared perfume because unlike me, who have absolutely no reservations on wearing perfume I like regardless of whether it is being sold as a men's, women's, shared or meant to put on dogs, there are a lot of men who might love to wear a pure floral but would refrain from wearing it because of it being sold as a lady's perfume, so Profumum Roma gets a gold star in my book for recognizing that there are plenty of us men out there with enough class and style who are not feminine and can easily pull off a gardenia, tuberose, jasmine floral. It also just so happens that tuberose is one of my favorite flowers both to wear and to grow in my garden. I also grow gardenia jasmoides in my greenhouse and I am intimately familiar with its exact smell as well. From many of the reviews I read on this site it is clear that many members are truly sadly unfamiliar with the true smell of living tuberose and gardenia. For example, by the votes many have voted that they spell tuberose dominating over gardenia when this is the other way around. Even though tuberose is featured in the the name, this is really more of a gardenia perfume than tuberose. Tuberose has natural wintergreen (salicylate) and camphor facets to its scent profile and gardenia lacks these but instead has a citrus facet which is far clearer in this perfume where the camphor and salicylate notes are largely absent. I am not sure exactly where the jasmine is doing but I'm sure it's doing something to round off and create a richer scent profile. But really this is a great and powerful white floral heavy on the gardenia and light on the tuberose. It goes on strong, sweet and heavy and like the flowers in it, it projects its intoxicatingly sweet and mesmerizing perfume to all in the immediate area. This perfume has quite above average sillage. This is not one you are going to wear and not have anyone know you are wearing a great, classy perfume. It also lasts many hours. You definitely get a good 6- 7 hours from one application so it may be a little pricey but a little bit does go a long way. For any gardenia or tuberose lover or lover of white florals in general this is one perfumer you cannot have missing from your wardrobe as I will always have it at hand.

I received a sample of this in my Lucky Scent order :-). Based on the note pyramid, I expected this to be similar to Narcotic V. due to the “animalics”. Through first impressions, it seemed very green. Not crisp green, but a warm green.. almost spicy. To me, it smelled cypress-y. It was a little difficult for me to pick up any florals. I’m sort of worried that the sample I’d requested for this could be wrong since I don’t seem to pick up the lush florals that other reviewers have been talking about. I’m not too familiar with gardenia though, apart from the other 2 florals. But going back to the sample I’d received, it did spray on pretty oily on skin, and I made sure to apply it the way Profumum Roma suggests their users to. It smells pretty much the same on my skin as it did on clothing and my bf liked it. We both agreed that it’s pretty unisex. Although, I think I’d prefer smelling this in the air more rather than as a fragrance on me. But this could be someone else’s preference as a fragrance on themselves too :). I’m glad I tried it before blind-buying this one... I almost did. But now I am a bit curious about Sabbia Bianca.. hmm.

Profumum Roma is undoubtedly one of my most beloved perfume houses. I've sampled many of their fragrances. I've owned, or I own several 100ml bottles of their perfumes. I love Ambra Aurea. And I really like Battito d'Ali. I've been on a tuberose-centered perfume fragrance lately, so I decided to try PR "Tuberosa." Profumum Roma "Tuberosa" is what I've come to expect from this house. Tuberosa performs as a full-on, very natural, super-realistic, blooming tuberose plant. The fragrance is a waxy, buttery tuberose petals perfume, versus tuberose with lots of green leaves & stems. So to my nose, Tuberosa is markedly less green and less sharp than other tuberose fragrances I've tried. And while some view this fragrance as "lactonic," Tuberosa is definitely not sweet, not as creamy as I prefer. Longevity is high at >4 hours. Silage is initially moderate. Price is steep. And because I detect nothing unique, or outstanding with this perfume, there's no way I could justify the hefty price point for this particular fragrance.

Tuberose blooms swirl about in a bowl of water that sits beside a slowly burning gardenia scented soy candle. A graceful forty-something woman with long blonde hair opens a jar of Nivea cream and quietly applies a pea-sized dollop to her perfectly polished hands. Beside her bed stands an electric fireplace, its white flames intermingling with the bright sun rays streaming in from a nearby open window. Tuberosa is cozy, serene, and green. It's (very!!) oily polish and linear scent profile don't read seductive or skanky to me as others suggest; I actually think this would be a safe wear pretty much everywhere if you don't overspray. Tuberosa is just a little too oily for me to love it, sadly. I can almost feel it in my throat.
