Basil & Bartlett

Richly fragrant pear and basil top notes with an underlying "crispy sweetness-- almost like an "herbal fizzy champagne." As the heart gathers strength there is a rich, somewhat fruity-musk quality, quite strong and lovely that merges with an herbaceous green sweetness. This is a scent of opposites: light and lovely spring fruit, fresh vs the dark shadows of autumn, fruits ripe, collected, jams and ciders cooling near the stove. It is altogether very different and unique, very wearable perfume. Went from sample,to 5 ml rollerball to full bottle. Btw I think silage is pretty darn good and longevity as well. Nicely done--love it.

I went back and forth on this one but ended up liking it. I agree w/ the review just below mine. It is a scent of opposites. The longer days of spring that bring the fresher green smells and then it turns to a late summer scent w/ overripe fruits and the musk of fallen leaves. The more I wear the sample the more it grows on me. I think Charna is going to be busy filling orders for me. I would love to take her classes! She is amazing. Edit: 6/9/22 I just graduated from my mini bottle of Basil and Bartlett to a full bottle. It is one of those perfumes that is so unique that is grows and grows on you. A song you can't get out of your head and you find yourself humming it all day. I have to change my like to a LOVE. All of Charna's creations are unique and are worth a sniff. You won't find anything else like them in the regular market or even the Niche market.

This is rather woodsy and spicy to my nose. I got more sandalwood and balsam than basil or pear. It smells very much like the folded sandalwood fan they used to sell in Asia when I grew up. I feel comfortable knowing the nostalgia brought back is from genuine, natural ingredients. For a summer fragrance, I’d like the initial freshness to last a little longer and the sweetness of the balsam to go down a tad. However, the warm and spicy quality makes this fragrance more versatile for cooler seasons.

48th I was excited to purchase my sample of this-sounded promising... But, I don’t smell any basil or pear. Maybe a vague light fruit note at first with a weedy stem smell. It is all baby powder or in natural origin, baby’s breath flowers or that carpet of white flowers in your garden which spreads and smells like sweet baby powder. Not horrible, just no basil and no pear- I know what those smell like. Also at the dry-down, the sweet powder becomes more soapy, musky (which I do not care for). 6/10

No.... This one is gag worthy on me. I was a bit worried when I first was going to test this. I do not like pear in scents, and basil can be iffy. This house’s natural scents I have tested so far have been delicate and quite pleasant, so I gave it a go. This one just overwhelmed me. It smelled like cat litter on me. First spray was exactly pear and basil. Then it spiraled down to kitty. At the end , it changed to something sweet and almost minty. I do not get any wood. If you like pear scents, this would be worth a try.
