Drunk On The Moon

Oh boy, Drunk on the moon is absolutely wonderful! I love the flower Tuberose but I'm quite fussy when it comes to Tuberose in Perfumery. If it's too floral, I'll pass; if too synthetic, nope, not for me; too coconutty, not really, Soliflores and usually very realistic and I love them. This one here is none of the above. It is boozy and green and thick and creamy and spicy and warm and cozy and sexy. I guess the only problem with it is that now I can't live without it.

Tried a sample this week and am getting none of these notes. There’s a sour/ citrus opening reminiscent of rhubarb with an earthy undertone of geosmin which in combination veers close to beets and dried lovage. It transforms rather suddenly into a faded smoked tea note (oolong perhaps). No trace of rose or tuberose and nothing lush or boozy (unless we count tea as a booze). Maybe my sample was bad?

at first i get nutmeg along with something green, which i think is actually the tuberose. i get some peach after about 5 minutes. there's a little opoponax in the background but it's quite subtle. overall a a greener tuberose, that doesn't really smell like tuberose, with some peach and a lot of nutmeg. i am a bit puzzled by this one.

I own 6 fragrances from Providence, Love in a Mist, Rose Boheme, Summer Yuzu, Rose 802, Moss Gown, Irisque and I love them all. But this one is just really, really bad. It smells like melted butter that you then soaked peaches in and added nutmeg. It is just a very weird scent. Edit 6/9/22 I have been buying quite a bit From Providence lately. I have visited w/ Charna and think she is an lovely and talented woman who is very deserving of perfume collectors business. I just picked up another bottle of Rose Boheme, a full size bottle of Basil and Bartlett (I had a mini) and a bottle of the Orange Blossom Honey perfume oil. I asked her to send me a sample of this so I could revisit again. There are times when I do change my mind on a perfume. That being said this is still not a tuberose scent for me. I find it to be strange and off putting. The funny thing is now that I am smelling it again I think it is a tuberose perfume a man could wear. It is not sweet at all like flowers are to my nose. The nutmeg is very drying and this scent has the quality of a musky rancid butter. It is also quite green. I think I will stick w/ Moon Bloom by Hiram Green for my all natural tuberose fix. That is sweet and more gardenia like. I just don't care for this one.

I have had this perfume for several years and it is one of the top least favorite in my collection, along with La Prima by Milano Fragranze. I love tuberose, but this is something else. It smells like crushed up vegetables and dirt. I’ve tried so hard to make this work, but in several years, I’ve sprayed it maybe 5 times total just to marvel at how unfortunately offensive it is.
